“Cute place. Went for lunch and it was very quiet. Nice and relaxing. A decent amount of tables inside. And it’s very bright and airy.The Kung pao chicken wasn’t spicy at all. It tasted very good though, and the rice was cooked perfectly.The Shanghai soup dumplings had great flavor. And are on the small side, you can eat them in one bite. The shrimp tempura was very crispy. The vegetable pot stickers had lots of veggies packed in like corn and spinach.The bubble tea I got just tasted like milk. It was pretty large though and I got double boba and the cheese foam. The boba was super fresh and very good.I liked that they had a bathroom but the toilet water was brown and all on the inside of the toilet was brown and it grossed me out.Though overall I def recommend!“

“HUGE portions and quiet ambiance. The restaurant is usually moderately empty (at least every time I have been there) so service is quite fast. I know Don Blanc does not have the trendy/hip factor that Oghane provides, but I have always had a great time dining in.Restaurant layout is very standard Korean BBQ - with large tables and grills in the middle. Some of the tables have a large cast iron grill that's reminiscent of cooking on a large rock, which is kind of fun. We always get either the Beef Set A bbq or the Pork Set B bbq, so cannot speak to the other menu items. The side dishes (banchan) that role out are so delightful--particularly the steamed egg (reminds me of my mom's cooking). As far as quantity of meat--you will not be disappointed. I have always returned home with leftovers.Eventually I will order the traditional bbq intestines, but I have not had to courage to do so yet...Parking can be quite tricky especially on weekends because everyone is fighting to get a spot for either Moo Bong Ri/Koryo Sushi/Jaguar Karaoke. I appreciate the security guard who works there because he sometimes provides valet-esque type services and allows people to double park cars or park unmarked areas. I have also always been able to find street parking.Overall, if you ride up to Moo Bong Ri and find that the wait time is just too long and you are just too hungry, I suggest you pop over to Don Blanc. You will not be disappointed.“
“I did catering here and I'm glad that they open early on a Saturday as well as their online system, was smooth convenient to use. Kalua pork was too dry. If I knew, I would have opted for either crispy shrimp or chicken katsu. I wished that they had pork katsu so I would have ordered pork katsu and get a variety of chicken, beef and pork. BBQ chicken was nicely flavored and tender as well as their BBQ short ribs. They tried to be healthy with cabbage on the bottom and broccoli on each corner. I ate the veggies with the abundant meat. Macaroni salad was on point. Spam musubi and lumpias were added and nice starters. Portions are generous.Recommended spot - especially when feeding a village party!“

“We have now been here several times. This the perfect 1/2 way point between picking my son and going home. It is across from the Coast Guard Island. The location is safe. Plenty of parking. We come for the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue and friendly service. Everything is great! Especially when the mother-in-law makes a surprise visit and cooks up her specialty pansit (not on the menu). Everything is fresh and cooked (and barbecued) with love. I think we’ve tried everything now. My favorite is toss between the FILIPINO STYLE barbecue Banh Mi sandwich and “THANK QUE” chicken bowl. There are a few tables inside and when the weather is nice, plenty of seating outside. I look forward to hearing live music in the future out there.Parking: Parking is shared with the charter school during weekday school hours. “I wasn't expecting much from BBQ in California, but MAN, the food here is delicious at this little BBQ spot. My wife and I got the brisket, bacon & cheddar link and the pulled pork to share and it did not disappoint in the least. Everyone who worked there was extremely nice and food came out quickly. The location was perfect and when the weather is beautiful, it is such a nice place to eat and peoplewatch. The beans were out of this world, and I found that if I took a bite of pickle and then chased it with a spoonful of beans, some sort of magical flavor bomb happens that I just can't explain, but it was delicious. “Came here after the Easter egg hunt with my boy and a friend. Didn't do an appointment so service to get a seat was a little slow. Once we were seated they gave us time to see what we wanted. We got the meat combo order for 3 people and it didn't disappoint. My boy who is a little picky really enjoyed their food. Just so you know, they run the restaurant a little cold because the burners are on constantly. Overall it was a great first time experience for my little boy and eating with friends is also a great thing. Lastly they have those large alcohol tubes for large tables (like they do at Dave and busters).“

“I've ordered takeout from ILava a couple times on Doordash. Their orders have been tasty, with pretty good portion size relative to the price (these days). I've had their Chicken Combo Plate (Chicken Katsu and Chicken Teriyaki), Walnut Prawns and the Curry Chicken (BBQ Chicken with Curry Sauce instead of the teriyaki sauce). Their normal plates come with two scoops of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. Compared to some of the other Hawaiian places in the area, this is probably one of my new favorites.“
“I've been coming here for over 10 years. It's my favorite Korean restaurant. The banchan is always fresh and delicious, plus they give you lots of them. There are a good amount of additional items you can get with all you can eat, we usually get the kimchi pancake, corn cheese (sounds weird but it's good) and maybe the pan fried dumplings. My favorite are the boneless marinated short ribs and bulgogi and my friend likes the brisket. The meat is good quality and you can tell they make everything in house. Yeah, it's not super cheap but it's the same price as other similar places or hot pot.For delivery I usually get the rice cake and dumpling soup. It's so good! And makes me feel better if I'm getting sick. You still get banchan and rice with delivery, so if you think about it with all the delicious side dishes included it's a pretty good deal.I still see the same owners as when I first started going here, I'm glad it's still in the same hands. It's consistently good. The one thing I'm not as fond of is the fried chicken.. it's not crispy.Service is good, sometimes they forget something.. but it's not a big deal, just remind them or ask again. It's pretty busy sometimes so it's impressive they remember all the different things people ask for refills for...Parking isn't great, but I always find a spot within a couple blocks. People mention the area is dicey at night. It's not that bad. Not as good as ten years ago, but just don't leave stuff in your car (like the rest of Oakland) and you'll be fine.“

If you like the colonels 11 spices, you're going to love this even more. They're sweet and sour chicken is fairly good too, just nowhere near as impressive as the fried chicken.Sold by weight, and always tasty. “This is in a busy part of Oakland so traffic and parking is a little hard, but there's always someone leaving so if you don't mind walking a bit, there are parking around. It's a nice walk with a lot to see. It was pretty empty on a Wednesday night so we were seated right away. There are 3 different QR codes to scan to look at the menu: lunch special, All you can eat, or a la cart. We opted for the a la cart menu this time around. Corncheese: I really enjoyed it. It's cheese. It's corn, you can't go wrong. I love the hint of sweetness you get. It was a small dish. Between 3 of us, we all had about 2 spoonfuls before it was done. Gyoza/potstickers/pan fried dumplings: these were ok. We've had better in other places, they were not as crispy as we had hoped. Texture was more steamed than pan fried. Garlic Bossam: I'm not sure what I was expecting from this dish but to me it was pretty good. It feeds 2-3 people. My friend didn't like it as much as a regular bossam. The garlic was a minced sauce that sat on top but it was sweet and not at all garlicky. We had to ask for cloves of garlic on the side that we thought it came with along with lettuce leaves to eat it with. Budae Stew: we all agreed on getting this and it's also a big dish that serves 2-3. Between the 3 of us, we still had leftovers to take home. It was a delicious soup with ramen noodles, spam, hotdogs and a bunch of tofu, different sorts of mushrooms, onions, and a slice of cheese on top. One of the better Budae's that I've had, it was a really comforting dish on a cold night. I recommend coming here if you like Korean food. They have a lot of options from all their menus and the dishes are good portion sizes. There are plenty to do around the area after or before dinner but be prepared to look for parking on side streets. It gets pretty busy.“

We didn't eat inside though because they were catering for an event, and it was interesting to see a bunch of super well dressed people that looked like they were from down south or had down south roots enjoying some food.Staff was super nice, the lady that served us was a real sweetheart, and the overall experience was excellent. Artisan cocktails were excellent! Try the Smoky Manhattan,,,a real game changer! We all went for the pork shank special served on a bed of grits and greens and couldn't have been more delighted. “Located in the old Chinese Express spot (RIP) -- this place is clean and fast! Generous portions, and they have mini plates if you want less food. I imagine it's great for students living around there. Tried it on a whim, as I was really craving some chicken katsu. The only reason I am giving four stars and not five is because the chicken katsu sauce was lose money.... a total miss. It was watery, and didn't taste at all like the ketchup + worcestershire sauce mixture that katsu sauce is supposed to taste like. It was just weird. No big deal -- I just made my own -- but this is a critical part of a chicken katsu plate! Please fix this, Moku BBQ, so that people can properly enjoy chicken katsu. Otherwise, I was satisfied (as satisfied as I can reasonably expect to be, eating "Hawaiian BBQ" anywhere outside of Hawaii). If you're from Hawaii and want to eat katsu, you can get some passable katsu here -- but be prepared to make your own sauce.“
