I couldn't agree more with the uniqueness of this place; there's truly nothing quite like it in the area. Also, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it an attractive option for anyone looking for a budget-friendly sweet treat. However, there was one significant downside that left me slightly disappointed, and it's the reason I've docked a star from my review. The preparation of the ice cream cone left much to be desired. Typically, I expect my cone to be assembled in a specific order: ice, ice cream, ice, and then syrup. Unfortunately, the girl behind the counter didn't follow this sequence. Instead, she put the ice cream first, a move that initially caught me off guard. I didn't even realize she had added the ice cream until my observant friend pointed it out, as it was the first thing she did. Consequently, I assumed she had forgotten about my ice cream until I reached the bottom of the cone, where it was disappointingly mixed with water. This unexpected arrangement affected the texture and taste of my dessert, leaving me slightly unsatisfied. Despite this setback, I must commend the flavors of my cone, which were truly delicious. The combination of syrup, guava and mango, was divine, showcasing the potential this place has if the preparation process is improved. Another minor downside was the limited seating inside; the space is quite small, with not many tables available. However, since it wasn't busy during my visit, I managed to find a spot without much trouble. Additionally, I'd like to mention that finding parking on the busy street was a bit challenging, but considering the unique experience and affordable prices, I'd say it's worth the drive. With a few adjustments in the preparation process and perhaps some expansion in the seating area, this place has the potential to become a top-notch dessert destination. “Came solely for the Al Pastor tacos and they were chef's kiss! CASH ONLY. Located in the parking lot by the gas station. A few parking spots available. No restrooms available (even in the gast station) You order your tacos at a smaller stand and then stand in another line to the food truck window to get your salsas and toppings (which are all pre-packaged) A couple of standing tables next to the taco truck for eating as well. The al pastor was juice yet tender, I always love the sweet pineapple component and then the avocado salsa was very good. The green salsa had a good kick and the red salsa had a slight smokiness to it. I dress my taco up with all the fixings so I liked the raw onions and pickles onions they offer too. Will be back!“

“Family owned and operated truck located in Boyle Heights / East LA area that specializes in tacos arabes and goodies from Puebla in general. The tacos arabes were a result of Lebanese immigrants to the area and boy are they delicious. I came here later on a Thursday night so it wasn't very busy and it was pretty chill. Just a few other people around me. The folks here were friendly and helpful. I ordered:A taco arabe especiale- their signature taco with their marinated roast pork on this soft flower tortilla. This was topped Oaxacan cheese and slices of avocado (especiale). There was this chipotle sauce on top of everything. The sauce added some smokiness to an already great flavor and texture profile. I really liked that flour tortilla. Quesadilla de flor de calabaza - zucchini blossoms with melted Oaxacan cheese inside a blue corn tortilla. Love corn and I love this. Nice and chewy with earthy and slightly sweet flavors to go along with their delicious salsaDefinitely recommend for tacos/ quesadillas etc etc or if you are just in the mood for something a little different.“

Many other taco vendors also recommend this truck for goat birria tacos.We got some goat birria quesatacos, labio taco dorados, which were lips, asada vampiro, and of course, gotta get consome. Not many places have goat birria, and most of the time, they tend to be too dry. Those quesatacos were super tender, juicy, cheesy, and packed with tons of spices and flavors. Dipping in the beefy, hardy consome, game over. I've never seen beef lips before, so I gotta give a try. It got the texture of beef tongue, also quite delicious. Like any other taco trucks and vendors, service is always impeccable. Everyone is very friendly and supportive to other vendors. I said it once, and I'm gonna say it again. The best birria tacos!!!“

“Been coming to this place for years at least twice a month. The tortas never disappoint. I've placed phone orders and they never get it wrong unlike other places. Their customer service is good. In my opinion, it's the best tortas in Los Angeles. However, my only critique is the fact that they are extremely stingy with the napkins and even worse, with the salsa. They give 2 napkins and 1 salsa per torta. If you ask them for more salsa they charge extra. Apart from this, they only accept cash. We are in 2024 they should be accepting card or at least Zelle/Cashapp. All that being said, I'm still a loyal costumer who will keep enjoying these delicious tortas but that wants more napkins and salsa lol“

Was not crazy about the chicharrón but it could be that I prefer chicharrón tacos to have the fried chicharrón, and not the stewed (soft) variety. Service is good. Food comes out super fast. I started with 3 fried shrimp tacos and 6 oysters. Let's talk about the tacos. Perfectly fried, crunchy and the shrimp bits were chopped chunky and was mixed with some kind of stuffing. Avocado slices and salsa topping was perfection. The flavors blended perfectly! The oysters were delicious! I've never had an oyster w salsa topped with a slice of octopus or a whole shrimp before. Super hearty and delicious. It took away from the taste of the oyster, but still very very good. These tacos are so amazing I had to get another three. 6 tacos, 6 oysters and a jarriotos w 20% tip was about $40. I wish they had tables or something to grub on, but slamming these tacos down on red plastic stools worked just fine. Def coming back!!!“

The cheese steak was good & the fries were descent.The flavor was ok, just wish their sauce for the Philly cheesesteak was on the bun or on the meat. They’re in little mini containers. The fries were crispy but not too seasoned and they only have packeted ketchup too. Overall it was a descent lunch.I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items.“

“Churro man is the best churros I've had here in the SFV. The churros are made fresh to order and they come out super hot and crisp. They aren't too hard and are soft in the inside. The individual that makes the churros is always super courteous, kind and is super cool. I usually come here every other Friday and always get the 7 churros special. “I stay eating in East Los Angeles because it's my hometown and hands down we have some f the best food ever. My husband and I love Mariscos. We're always willing to try new places. This lunch truck so happens to park by my house. We were hungry and wanted something refreshing and Maye Mariscos was our pick. The lady was very nice and they had a line of people. We knew it was good when people we're ordering for the next day already. She has a very good variety of things. They had so many different tostadas, their tacos were so good. I got the camarones en salsa negra and a taco de pescado. My husband had the aguachiles verde and a tostada mixta. Everything we got was delicious we definitely made a great choice by coming. The location is a lunch truck there are chairs and a little table where you can sit and eat your food. They also have take-out and they're there every day as far as I'm aware. Now you're thinking theres no way the food is fresh if its served on a truck. Well the quality and textures here are 5 stars. My friends and I ordered the Tacos de Camaron, Poseidon and Mixta. The octopus and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Not too chewy and the combination of citrus with their house made salsa were perfect. Between the 4 of us this was plenty of food. Prices are reasonable and portions are great. Wait times can be long, but well worth it. Theres a big parking lot across the street and plenty of street parking around the corner. These tacos filled with stew represent the way food is served at home, not a smorgasboard of menu choices, just a couple of things done well, consistently, and dependably. They represent the taste of the working masses of Los Angeles whose bloodlines in this city are long while weaving in influences from various Mexican regions. It doesn't get more rustic and truly delightful than Mathew's tent stall where the corn tortillas are dipped in stew juices to soften them up before they are toasted on the griddle. His vat of birria conjures up the warmth and depth of roasted onions, cinammon, chiles, and slow cooked meat that falls into shreds off your fingers as you slurp up the juices. At $1.50 a pop Mathew's tacos are overflowing with complex flavor and are sensually overwhelming. You can tease the palate with fresh radishes and a suite of fresh tomato salsas, pickled onion and chilli sauces set out to garnish the tacos. The backstreet experience is indelible from your mind. I'm dreaming of going back next weekend. Please bear in mind he's only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as I understand it.“
