“Akasaka is amazing bang for buck if you like hamachi kama (yellowtail collar), it’s perfectly broiled - crispy on the outside and tender and fatty on the inside. Their chirashi bowl is huge with 6 cuts per fish and can serve 2. The fish is good quality and fresh and the tempura bits in the rice adds another layer of texture. I always come here when I’m craving lots of hamachi for a good price“
“The most identical same taste from Osaka, Japan. I still remember the taste of the creamy & nutty Pork Cutlet Curry. It remember me on that trip. The trip is 14 days. Everyday in dinner I order this food. I just craving it. Wonderful!!! You all should try it. But missing one portion? The Japanese Pickled Ginger. Hope the owner can make this. I mark this restaurant as the most so far the best Pork Cutlet Curry I were ever tasted.“
“Sushi Land has been with my family since young. Staff is the kindest you'll ever meet and the fish is fresher than day. Constant updates with the sashimi . Love this place from the bottom of my heart. Go before the place gets busy. I prefer lunch time personally. I recommend this place completely.“
“Easy to park (lunchtime) Nice seating, comfortable chairs and very clean Ginger rating: 5/5 Not watery and a bit dry (which I like) ginger is flavorful and there is a bit of a snap Iced Green tea: 1/5 No flavor Hand rolls: Eel - great! The eel is cut generously and is very meaty! Tastes incredible. Normally there isn't much eel or it can be fatty. Three amigos The spice is a bit smoky to me. Not sure how I felt about that first bite, but the heat did grow on me. My mouth has a nice heat. Good sized scallops. The spicy part does cover up the flavors of the seafood. Spicy Salmon Salmon is my go-to raw fish.. but today I went spicy. It was very overwhelming! A bit too much sesame oil that it drowns out the taste of the actual fish. Probably go back to regular salmon hand roll again. Very nice servers. Overall it was a descent sushi place for lunch. Will bring co workers next time.“
“Simple food n fun unique flavors you cant find anywhere else like Albacore Ecstasy and etc.**Update: Post-COVID has made the restaurant more take-out oriented, with the sushi bar seating gone. Reservations and seating is available, but reduced by 20-30% now that part of Dine-In area has been modified for Take-Out.“
“Great Japanese style restaurant with good portions and friendly services. We were there a bit early to beat the crowds. The Tonkatsu ramen was excellent and the bento with tempura was just right. Definitely we will go back to try other menu items.“
“Some of the best Ramen I've had in the entirety of Socal. In fact, I'd dare say Foo foo tei was better than some of the ramen joints I've been to in Japan! I've been coming here regularly since 2015... highly recommended, it's a hidden gem of a restaurant buried in the suburbs near City of “
“All the meats are so fresh, I love beef tongue the most. As some comments suggested, don't cook too long so I cooked majority of those as medium rare, which tastes really good. Service is also good, they always gave big smile. Not like some other bbq restaurants, there is no smoke, it's like high level Japanese bbq restaurants. For sure I'll come back!“
“The H S Express Delivered, this sushi spot is nothing fancy but is low-key with dynamite fresh flavor and a nice selection of sashimi, sushi, rolls, and a few other goodies to be found at sushi restaurants. The decor is simple, and the service is good ,and the food is very fresh. This is a very small establishment with 5 tables and 2 seats at the bar, still brand new to the neighborhood . I noticed a lot of takeout and a steady flow of patrons to this spot, but I believe that will change when they find out how good this place is. Also, there are only two sushi chefs, so relax and enjoy the time. There is no alcohol served here, so don't let that spoil your experience here. You did come for the Hamachi experience. See you tomorrow ?“
“First visit here. Absolutely loved it. The albacore sashimi should really be renamed a carpaccio. Thinly sliced premium seared albacore with a tangy delicious ponzu sauce. With more than 10 slices, it's the perfect delicacy to share with someone special. Everything else here was super fresh and tasty. The ambience is dark & comfy and the customer service was friendly, quick & efficient. I found my new favorite spot for sushi.“
“A feast to the eyes and for the palate. However, the whole omakase felt a bit rushed because there was a train of people standing behind us waiting to be seated for the next appointed timeslots. Also, they said it's 10 sushi but it's really like 7 because there's an appetizer that was more like a small plate of Hawaiian poke, a miso soup side dish and a green tea ice cream dessert at the end.Other than that, good experience though.“
“Sushi Kisen continues to punch well above its weight and it is 1/3 the price for the same quality as some of the now outrageously expensive sushi places in LA.For about $120, our omakase today included about 10 courses and 2 additional pieces we selected at the end. The quality of the nigiri is self-evident, particularly with the chutoro and the Nemuro uni. Another particular favorite was shiro-ebi. The chef confirmed that it is from Toyama. It should be mentioned that some pieces are ever so slightly on the saltier side (I confirmed that they do season with a drop of salt on some pieces), which I ended up liking but it might be a surprise to some. Extra points for the shari, which was flavorful on its own without taking away from the fish. I also highly recommend asking the chef if they have any seasonal items. We were very pleasantly surprised by our tsuika orders. When I do not have the time to enjoy an omakase at the bar, I would recommend their chirashi bowls.“
“Robots are distracting and loud at times and I prefer personal service. Food innovative and delicious. New/trainee waitress hesitant and seemed overwhelmed which allowed for more conversation. Things amiss are easily fixable: owner & staff stepped in, generously compensated and cared for us. The food is well worth it and we will return again & again.“
“Always good, thin rice surrounding the roll is a good sign of a good sushi roll, fish always fresh and melts in your mouth...I'm a big Wasabi user and they provided two different types for me to try, the lumpy almost salsa looking kind was so good, just spread on roll and eat, the other was what you'd normally find... it was good.Parking: Plenty right in front, never had a problem finding a spot“
“Yuli was the best!!!The food and cocktails never disappoint here. We had an amazing dinner with the best waitress Yuli. We just loved her, she provided outstanding service with a warm and welcoming demeanor. She demonstrated excellent knowledge of the menu, offering recommendations and accommodating special requests with ease. Overall, her professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail truly enhanced our dining experience. She's a true asset to the restaurant!“
“Decided to try a new place as I’ve been on a hunt for a good local sushi place and wow…….taste, presentation and service get 5 stars from me. Everything we need tried impressed me so much that I can’t wait to go back. The owner is also a seasoned sushi chef and he is there making the sushi which makes a world of difference.Like I said, I found my favorite spot ?“
“Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was so delicious. Stopped by after some shopping and this place was packed. They sat me down once I walked in and their service was excellent. I received my meal quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely come back again.“
“Highly recommend this place! It’s so good for a great price. You get a great amount of food too and it’s always fresh.I have gotten my friends and co workers into this place and they weren’t disappointed. The service is great too! It makes me keep coming back. If you’re in the Buena Park area, check them out. You won’t be disappointed.“
“Seems simple. Looks like maybe "i could make this at home" but it is not. It is 10/10 actually and unironically the best thing ive had all year. And i get sushi ALOT. This is great. And i think other ppl have noticed too cuz ive been here twice an hour before closing and they've run out.“
“This dish is the embodiment of freshness! The juicy, flavorful seafood pairs exquisitely with the rich wagyu beef. The vegetables are equally impressive, offering a crisp, lively, and flavorful experience. Clearly, only the best ingredients make the cut for this meal.“
“Awesome place to get some great tasting ramen! The restaurant was nicely decorated, the staff extremely friendly and of course, the food tasted great. We had the veggie king ramen with an egg add on and spice level 3. Very good. I would definitely add a higher spice next time I go. They have a cool custom menu that you fill out while waiting in line to stream line the process. Big fan of the organization! Highly recommend.“
“Mazesoba Hero's signature Lemon chicken karage is absolutely amazing?! It's crispy and tender and juicy! Every spoonful was a satisfying experience! karage maintained its crispiness even when immersed in the sauce.I recommend trying their Chicken Karage Mazesoba Ramen to anyone seeking a unique and delicious ramen experience.Yum! Yum!“
“Honestly, was amazed at how good the sushi / sashimi was at this place. Didn't expect it from a food hall. WAY better quality tasting food than a more legit mid-level sushi places. Highly recommend coming here just for this. We got another roll to go because it was so good.“
“Delicious ramen! The Chuka Soba was phenomenal. The broth was perfectly balanced. Not too bland, not too rich. The inside is cozy and very chill. We sat at the bar to watch the cooks prepare the ramen.Gyoza was also perfect, the sauce was also quite excellent. Really enjoyed the variety of the music being played as well.“
“The food is amazing, the place is clean, and the staff was nice and polite. They have a 1 and a half hour time limit, so don't be surprised when they try to kick you out. A bit too loud with people talking and the music, but if you enjoy those environments, go ahead. I enjoyed it.Parking: They have a parking lot with room for many cars so enjoy.Kid-friendliness: I saw a few toddlers and they gave them a high seat so I think kids can go there.“
“I definitely loved it. The second time going, I will definitely be going more often. The food is always so good, I had the takoyaki, the crispy tuna rice cakes, the baked crawfish roll, and the scallop roll. I had their green jasmine hot tea, I can't wait to try some other dishes.“
“Located in Buena Park, on Beach Blvd., just north of I-5, Kobe Gyukatsu is also known as Kobe Kyukatsu. Being a Japanese/Korean restaurant, they use those languages' different pronunciations of that same word. Word that means "beef cutlet," which is this place's specialty. They offer several levels of meat quality, all the way up to Wagyu A5, which will set you back $100 per person. Besides the expensive meat, they also offer much more affordable Japanese and Korean everyday foods, from Ramen to Udon, Bulgogi, all sorts of Donburi (rice bowl with beef, pork, chicken etc.) We had Katsu Curry (fried pork cutlet in curry sauce) and beef donburi (beef bowl with rice). The food was truly excellent. The meat was tender, and the portions were abundant. The cutlet was lightly fried and nanaged to be at the same time crispy and tender. Definitely one of the best Katsu Curry I've had in Orange County. Service was prompt and corteous. Highly recommended.“
“Great place to eat or pickup some sushi. This is not a place for high end omakase. It is more a place to get good quality Japanese food at a reasonable price. The workers are always friendly and it has a good relaxed vibe. Only drawback is that they only have one chef so everything takes a long time, even when the restaurant is not full.“
“So so glad I got around to trying this place out, the pastas are SO GOOD!! We tried the mentaiko and the squid ink pasta - the flavor profile for both was perfect and the noodles were cooked al dente! The portion size was just right too. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu“
“There are two reasons I would go back to this place. I saw it on Instagram, and I like to judge places for myself, so we went. The first reason I'd go back is they have an employee by the name of America, I told her it was our first time she introduced both beef and chicken teriyaki so we could taste both flavors and it was by far a great recommendation. Both had great flavor, so this place, I would say, is a good five-star. It's always wonderful when you find good tasting food but it's even better when you have staff that backs up the restaurant and gives you great customer service“
“We came here on a weekday evening at around 6pm and had no wait. They have only one option for dining at this Chubby Cattle location, which is an AYCE menu including Wagyu, pork, seafood, appetizers like Wagyu tartare and salmon carpaccio, rice, sushi and soup. For $65.99 (non-member price) per person, you definitely get what you pay for here!“
“Went here for the first time today. Was a late lunch and we were the only customers there. My wife ordered the Chnpon ramen I had the fried chicken ramen. We were served promptly by the efficient server. Both our dishes were flavorful and generous portions. Hard to understand the few reviewers who felt the food was bland. My wife has visited Japan and felt this was an authentic Japanese Raman . This is our go to ramen place. Highly recommended!“
“Excellent food! A wonderful family run restaurant. My whole family goes crazy for their crab Rangoon and shrimp and veggie tempura. The golden shrimp dumpling curry is also amazing. They just expanded the menu, very excited to try more dishes. Have never been disappointed, and very friendly staff and owners!Vegetarian options: Lots of dishes can be made with tofu“
“After success with the jajiang noodles, I had to try the stall right next door. Inside the fantastic Hmart market, is Kazu Mori. I’d say Katsu is there specialty with pork and chicken. I had the pork tonkatsu with curry. Huge portions and so good. I actually thought I was a bit pricey bit after I saw the quality and portions, I reconsider. Also, not a Bricks and mortar saves a bit.I think the key is to get a bunch of people and order two or three items from each stall. The choice are fantastic.“
“Came here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I didn't try any of the Peruvian dishes, but we tried the octopus sushi, grilled octopus, tiradito sampler, one of the specialty rolls and everything was nice. The dining area is clean and roomy, and the staff was nice.Definitely coming back again.“
“The chef is the same from Wahoo Chaya. So long story short- the sushi is phenomenal as it was prior. I bring my wife and son here all the time and also invite other family members. I order the a la cart cut rolls such as the the albacore roll and the yellow tell. Sometimes I will order it either of them spicy. My wife loves the rainbow roll, baked mussels, and fresh oysters. My son who is two mind you like the temura udon and the rainbow roll. Yes he loves sushi. Usually our bill is around 100 including tip. If we invite others it is more. You will not be disappointed coming here. A true gem.“
“When I'm in the area, Miyako Sushi is the go to place if I'm craving sushi. They have an extensive variety and the fish is always fresh. They also offer other dishes as well, like Teriyaki chicken, beef and fish. The staff is very friendly and they always greet you with a smile. I highly recommend Miyako's Sushi.“
“The staff is super friendly especially David. The interior was very nice and neat. The food was super tasty, I got the combo plate of chicken and steak. The chicken was juicy and tender as well as the steak! The rice was nice and soft! And the sushi rolls were BIG! Great value for the food as well. Definitely an after workout meal as an affordable option.“
“The people at this restaurant are amazing. They treat everyone like family. They are friendly and very attentive. The food is also amazing. I have been coming here for around 20 years. We love to come for special events, like birthdays, but also... we try to come at least once a week. We love it here.“
“Delicious and Great service. Down to there well kept silverware and Dishes Thank you clean up crew in the Shadows.Kid-friendliness: Anything that lights up a spark on your food makes for a Cool Post.Wheelchair accessibility: Comes with clearance for both,E-scooters and Wheel chairs.“
“Old place but I guess the ownership was changed 2 yrs ago. They serve very nice crispy donkatsu, not slim meat and serve Korean old fashioned cream soup. Not too long wait but Tasty Dinkatsu! Not too expensive but enough portion and nice sevice.“
“The best service I've seen at a Shabu place!I'm allergic to peanuts and eggs, which most Shabu places I've found have not been very accommodating. But Miss Shabu has the most friendly staff as they wrote on the menu notes on what foods I'm allergic to and which ones are good. They were very efficient with setting up our table of 16 and were flexible when we had less people than expected. The food was really good for a decent price. For dinner and drinks and tea, we spent about $50 and got 2 different soup bases, had many different types of sides, and plates on top of plates of meat. Definitely recommend this Shabu place if you were looking for one in Buena Park.“
“Always busy even if your lucky to get a phone order taken. Great food and great price. No dine in only take out. They have teriyaki and spicy mayo on the side counter to add to your plate cause you only get one sauce so better to add before you go.Parking: Next to barber shop and subway“
“First time here it was really good I will definitely be back!I had the Benito Box Teriyaki BeefIt took a little bit to get my order, but they were busy at lunch ? The Benito Box was enough for my lunch and dinnerParking: Lots of parking in lot“
“My wife and I have visited this ramen spot several times, and let me tell you something IT NEVER DISAPPOINTS! Owner of this place always provides the best service, and the atmosphere is cozy, it feels personal every time. Appetizers you can never go wrong, doesn’t matter what you choose & the ramen is great. The spicy tonkatsu miso is actually spicy and delicious. Everything the owner of this restaurant has to offer is A+.“
“Small cozy place definitely a hidden gem, hand rolls are delicious. Don't forget to pair it with a cold beer. Great fun atmosphere, Margaret & Richie are absolutely the best people around.Kid-friendliness: Margaret & Richie are very helpful and will accommodate to your needs.“
“The food tastes good and is fresh. The amount of food is large, so if you order two plates of katsu, three people can enjoy it.My daughter loves chicken katsu and all kinds of roll.It is located on the corner of a supermarket building, so the surroundings are quiet. There is a patio outside, so you can eat in that patio if there are a lot of customers inside.Inside is clean.“
“On a Sunday afternoon in March, my sister wanted to try the Japanese pancakes so came here for lunch. We parked in front on the street. Inside interior looks nice with tables and cute stuff at the counter. The staff seem nice and we got seated right away. The menu was easy to read so I ordered gyudon beef with rice and my sister ordered the original soufflé pancakes. My dish came first and everything was really good. Then the 3 pieces of pancakes arrived and it was fluffy and light after I took a bite. Next time I will try other items. I hope they get more business.“
“Can’t beat the price Abe the outstanding quality of sushi! All you can eat for $40 dinner, lunch if cheaper. You get 3 rounds and they give you 90 minutes!! What more can you ask for? Double check what you ask for on the order because they may “forget” to order everything you ask for. The check in process is perfect. Check in on Yelp and your set. Parking might be a challenge. This will be my new place for sushi!!“
“It's been a while since I visited Yakiya, but the memories of that fantastic dining experience still linger. From the moment we arrived, we were promptly seated, a testament to their efficiency. I was particularly impressed with how quickly the staff ensured tables were cleaned between plates. The kitchen team deserves special mention too, as they kept the scrumptious dishes coming without any unnecessary delay. The star of the evening was, of course, the meat. Each cut was not only delicious but also richly flavored, a testament to their meticulous preparation. The presentation was nothing short of artistic, a feast for the eyes as much as for the palate. While the essence of the dishes was deeply rooted in Japanese culinary traditions, I was pleasantly surprised by the subtle touches of Korean fusion in some. It added an unexpected, yet delightful twist.“
