“The watermelon splash smoothie is so good and refreshing. The flautas are delicious. I'm hooked on both. The lady who is there everyday I'm not sure if she is the owner but she is very nice and sweet. She always thanks me at least 5xs before I leave. I go there at least 3 to 4xs a week. The smoothies aren't too sweet and don't have all that fake sugary additives that most places put in their smoothies. I love this place and I encourage everybody to try it. You won't be dissapointed.”

“My daughter treated me to a birthday dinner at Running Rooster. It is located in downtown Hollister. The restaurant has ample seating and a nice bar. Parking is somewhat limited, but there is generally street parking available.I started off with a glass of DeRose Parróne Blend. We ordered two appetizers: Chips & Dips from the standard menu and Lobster Mac from their special menu. The Chips and Dips came with salsa roja, salsa verde, and your choice of queso dip or guacamole. We opted for the queso dip. The appetizer was good, especially the queso. The salsa roja had a thick, somewhat creamy texture. It wasn't bad, just not the kind of salsa I was expecting. The Lobster Mac was pretty good as well. It consisted of the usual cheesy macaroni noodles, but had plenty of lobster chunks and small, stemmed mushrooms (maybe beech mushrooms?). The whole dish was topped with baked, crusted cheese and piping hot.For my meal, I ordered the Cowboy Burger and upgraded to Garlic Fries. The burger had a great flavor, but the patty wasn't as juicy as I would have liked. It may have been slightly overcooked. The burger toppings included the usual lettuce, tomato and pickles, but also pepper jack cheese, bacon, one large onion ring, and "yeehaw" sauce. All in all, a flavorful burger. My daughter ordered the Mushroom Burger with the onion rings upgrade. She too had the same experience as I did with my burger because her patty was also a bit too dry/overcooked.We ordered a shared dessert, the cheesecake, and opted for a lemon topping. The cheesecake was very good and the topping was the right amount of sweet and tangy. Our server was attentive but not intrusive and she was very pleasant. I like the ambiance of Running Rooster. I do feel the burgers could have been a bit more juicy, but really, the food was good and we'll be going back. Recommended!”

“The service was great. Very attentive for our large group. I expected the portions to be a bit bigger for the price but not horrible. The chips and salsa were yummy. I ordered the chile relleno and it was very good. The only things I noticed that I would recommend to change is that there were flies when you walk in, and there is a hole in the ceiling towards the front. I wasn't sure what that hole was about but it just makes the restaurant look rundown.”

One night I ordered all their soup and the family sat and ate to see which on was their favorite. Not one of us chose the same one so you'll have try it out for yourselves. “We came here for lunch during the lunch rush and we were very pleased! Our food took a little long, but we had that understanding going into it knowing we were in the middle of a large amount of take out orders. That being said, our server was still on point and made sure we were taken care of! The fish was very fresh and the rolls were delicious! We ordered the Poke Nachos, Tres Pinos and Rainbow rolls. They grill the tortilla to keep it intact because it's filled from end to end! There was a bite of chicken in almost every bite, except the ends...why is that?!? “The food was incredible. I got the carbonara which had very nice al dente noodles that are hard to compare anything I've tried to. The sauce was hella creamy and the bacon added just enough flavor to not be overpowering. The calamari was delicious and both dips were tasty. My gf got the lasagna and it was so thick and creamy with lots of meat and the fresh mozzarella in it and on it was fire. The cheesy bread it came with was perfect for dipping into the marinara that surrounded the whole dish. Prices are a reflection of the quality for sure at this place. We'll be back”

“It was a little after mid day an I have been craving a Caldo de Res ( beef soup) So I went to El Michoacano, I had been there before and wasn't nt disappointed. Needless to say I wasn't disappointed this time either. $18.99 The Caldo was just what I was Craving. It had fresh Chiote, zucchini, carrots, potatoe, a corn cob Harty portion of beef that was really tender and full of flavor you look for in a Caldo. It came with a harty side of Spanish rice and I asked for corn tortillas of a choice between flour or corn. I had a ice tea $2.00. I was served chips and salsa while I waited on my dish which didn't take a long time, there was only about 8 other patrons inside and a couple in the outside seating, facing the hill side. Camila my waitresses was on her game, she checked on me several times. The restrooms were clean. There were a several large tables for groups. 2 thumbs up for me!Parking: Lots of parking”
