“You can tell the food is going to be amazing when the chips and salsa are spot on. I went with a group of six, and we ordered a variety of dishes to share, giving me the chance to sample several entrees. My top picks were the ceviche marinero, langostinos, camarones a la diabla, and the tacos gobernador. The only area that could use some improvement was the service. Our waiter only checked in when we placed our order and when the food was delivered. We had to get up to request napkins and order additional drinks.”
“Had a wonderful time trying this place for the first time today for my sisters birthday . One can taste that the ingredients were fresh and quality . The pasta dishes were Al dente and homemade 🥰 loved the Italian salad , fried crunchy chicken cutlets and the dessert (bread pudding) was so delicious ! Every server was delightful and it was kid friendly !. (But no changing station :( ). The portions are not as big ,however , the authenticity made up for it . Go try this place now !”
“My food was good. Price wasn't bad. Portion was large, but the guy that took my order should have stayed home that day. He was dry and useless. No customer service skills at all.”
“We stopped here between Universal Studios & LAX after finding them via a Google restaurant search. The food was delicious. Large portions & big mugs of cold beer to tame the spices. We loved the friendly & casual vibe. My silly kid enjoyed being creative with the injera bread & what kid doesn't love the opportunity to eat with their hands... on purpose!”

“I was a bit skeptical of the idea of healthy soulfood, but this food was just excellent. I had the sampler and loved it all. Would definitely recommend if you’ll be anywhere near the airport.”

“Not sure where to start. We were visiting Los Angeles for the week and decided to try 2 Hommies, this was the BEST MEAL OF OUR ENTIRE STAY. It was so Nice we ate there Twice and had enough to take on our flight and make everyone jealous. Service was EXCELLENT. We will be back on our next trip. As an aside, I purchased one of their tee shirts to help advertise THE BEST FOOD IN LOS ANGELES”

“The location of the restaurant is smack center of downtown GSU, a young and vibrant, busy little area reminiscent of a ‘baby Manhattan’ but with nicer people and eco-friendly eateries. The interior is aesthetically pleasing with a black and yellow color scheme throughout the establishment, coordinated seating areas for dining in, and simple yet impactful decor with the background story of Mr. Fries Man framed along the walls. The atmosphere was welcoming and extremely professional and the fries themselves were everything! I had the shrimp and steak fries and they were fresh and hot, the steak cut into perfect bite size bits, the shrimp cooked perfectly, and the sauce a delicate balance between sweet and savory to tie it altogether *chefs kiss*. Overall perfect restaurant choice for anyone but especially college students and young professionals who want a satisfyingly delicious, quality meal without breaking the bank.”

“This is a storefront shop that also sells packaged food, such as noodles and chips. It's rather plain inside, with simple tables and paper serving ware, but very clean. I tried the murtabak (like a fried stuffed pancake) and a noodle dish that was deliciously different, with hints of lemongrass and something spicy. I really like the noodle dish, and will back to try the curries. I also had a wonderful mango lassi, which I recommend.
Service was friendly, and he gave me some water while I waited.
Parking: The building on the corner is vacant, so I parked there, and the restaurant said it was fine.”
“Me encanto el lugar muy rico todo la pasamos de maravilla. Y fue lindo ver a personas que aprecio y q estimo. Muchas gracias ❤️👍😄”
“Great local brewery that really focuses on the beer. So much better since they expanded the outside seating. Great food trucks/stands that come in, friendly staff. A bit “hop” heavy selection if that’s your brew, would like to see more lagers, ales etc but doesn’t take away from a 5 star review”
“Absolutely the finest Soul Food. You don't want to skip this place. I had the lunch portion of the Oxtail and chose the Candied Yams and Mac and Cheese as sides. It came with 2 Cornbread Muffins. It was all delicious and filling. I ordered the Coconut Pineapple Cake for Dessert. It filled the container. See the picture. Totally Recommend this place.”
Outdoor Dining
“The best Matcha drink I’ve had so far, made exactly the way I wanted!
The ingredients are high-quality.
Don’t be discouraged by the small outdoor seating when you arrive—there’s a spacious, cozy area in the back you can access after ordering.
The seating area is bright and sunny, with lyric-free music, creating the perfect, distraction-free vibe.
People are working, reading, or chatting quietly, making it a great spot to focus and get things done.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
Added to my list of good cafes in LA.”
“Excellent food, great service! I have a severe gluten allergy and was able to choose from almost anything on the menu which is extremely rare!
Dietary restrictions: Almost everything gluten free. Lots of vegetarian options as well.
Parking: Parking lot behind building with a couple spots.”

“We loved the vibe of this bar! The atmosphere was very nice and quiet when we went in the afternoon. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly. We felt comfortable.
The drinks we got were delicious. My partner loved the lavender martini. I got a jalapeno margarita and was blown away by the balance of flavors. Very delicious drinks at a great price during happy hour. I would love to come back here.”
“I am hooked on their stuffed baked potatoes. So far I've tried the BBQ baked p, and the Mexican baked p (fave so far). The service is pretty good, I usually call to avoid online fees and pick up in 20 min. The pizza is good and surprisingly the ribs were tasted too. I didn't take pics of everything but planning on going today for something new and will def take pics. heard the lasagna was good and will grab another stuffed baked p and something else new off the menu.
Oh, the prices, In 2024, the prices beat everyone in town. the baked potatoes are $7 and change but HUGE and lasts the next day. Glad I finally decided to give it a try. Some of thenolder reviews do not do this place any justice. It is not gourmet food by any means, but good tasting food at a very reasonable price!”

“Great customer service. And loved grilled fish better than fried. FYI don’t wear a chiefs hat in an L.A establishment ( raiders) customers will talk trash. ”
“The chicken hard shell tacos with the rice and beans was awesome. Everything was so fresh. And my cocktail was 🔥🔥🔥”
Takeout Restaurants
“Great food.. bad service! Server seemed out of it ? my food came to my table and no utensils. I waited a couple of minutes for the server (only 1 server?) to come around but no luck. I got up and went to the front counter to get what I needed. I was really annoyed at this point. Keep in mind there was only one other table dining in so it wasn't busy or I would've been more considerate.
The food is great but you guys really need to improve your service.”
“I never write reviews but literally set my slice of cake down (really hard to do) because I had to run and write a review. Hands down the best chocolate cake I have ever had in my life! Please support our awesome local businesses! Great customer service and vibe inside! Will be back more than I should because it is THAT good!!”
“Well, first of all, thank God for life and health and for the first part of the country from here in Los Angeles, California, they treated me very well, kindly and with respect, and I hope to God that they continue like this, with kindness and polite staff, thank you”
“They have the softest ox tails that I’ve have ever tried. Their rice and peas are pretty good. They give you a black sauce that just takes the flavor to a higher level.”
“I ordered the turkey tacos and a cocktail 🍸 to go. My tacos was 🔥🔥🔥👏👏 and the drink was good 👍 😋 👌”
“EDIT: MUCH BETTER! So much better! The drastic improvements to the service coupled with the delicious food made me change my review from 1-star to 5. My husband is obsessed and he’s not even nigerian ?.
Mama Veronica, you have done well.

Worst service in the history of worst services. I placed an order 2HOURS in advance, drove all the way from Orange County to pick it up in Inglewood (if you from LA you know how bad that drive can be) only to be told one of my main orders isn’t available and I would have to wait ANOTHER 40mins for the rest.
Lady, hire more cooks, prep beforehand or something because this is ridiculous. I wouldn’t mind waiting usually because the food is good but wait AND be expensive? Not coming back here again. Food is good but the hassle is not worth it. At all.”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“I’ve tried many many many wings over my lifespan and I could say nothing compares to the wings here at wingopolis! So fresh, so moist, and packed with flavor! The Owner/Chef is very hospitable and is definitely passionate about his family recipes! This is a must stop for anybody in the Inglewood area!”
“I tried StormBurger on a whim for the first time almost a year, and since then I have gone back almost every other week. The reasons I keep returning are:
The food: I have tried almost all items on the menu, you can’t go wrong with anything. All the burgers are fantastic, the chicken sandwiches are amazing, and the fries are perfectly crisped. The sauces are unique and tasty, with the apricot thundersauce being my go to for dipping fries. It’s sweet at first before washing into a smooth spiciness. StormBurger also isn’t shy about making spicy menu items actually spicy. The jalapeño burger actually packs a punch, so be warned!
The prices: Extremely affordable and well worth the prices for the quality of food.
The service: Always reliable and friendly. We’re always excited to see Tony working the drive thru because hes always extremely friendly, efficient, and just in a good mood. SHOUTOUT TONY! After the many times i’ve been to StormBurger now, my order has only been messed up once, and it was in a minor way in that sauce was left out of the bag, but the larger food items have always been correct.
Overall: You’ve gotta try StormBurger!”
“?? JALISCO MÉXICO (via Eat the World Los Angeles) - If you read through the thoughts of commenters online about Taquería Millo and the carnicería it is connected to, you will get a much different experience than the usual rubbish. Instead, you get a feeling for the long history of this Lennox staple and the people that have been coming here since they were kids.”
“She is always a nice person . Food is decent but portions are a little small as far as meat is concerned . Being from the east coast we have plenty of island cuisine . And it feels good to get some in Inglewood. All she has to do is offer a bigger selection of food . Normally it's just one Jamaican dish to choose from and bean pies and the normal soups and American food . All are great. Just wish she had a bigger variety”
“My sons and I stopped in without any prior knowledge or recommendations. THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! We were served home made chips, black beans, and salsa at the table, and had two baskets of chips!
My sons ordered the carne asada tacos. The steak was tender and savory. Traditional style “street” tacos BUT with a hefty serving of steak.
I had the fish tacos plate. The fish was grilled and seasoned tilapia, with homemade sauce and salsa. The three tacos were packed with fish. The rice was phenomenal and the refried beans were outstanding.
I normally don’t eat tilapia yet this was the best preparation I have had.
It truly feels like you’re treated to inside someone’s home, as the service was excellent and the food scrumptious.
I just wish I had tried more dishes and taken pics!
Kid-friendliness: Plenty of space at the tables, with comfortable seats.”
“This was my first visit to Burrito Caliente but I can assure you it won't be my last. One of the best Mexican restaurants in LA. I lived briefly in Mexico and lived in a loft across the 4th St Bridge in Boyle Heights. The ladies at BC are friendly and masters of customer service. It's easy to overlook this restaurant on Crenshaw in a small kiosk. Please take the time to go there. You won't be sorry.”
“Excellent service and very good food! They make the scrambled pupusas very well and the chicken cakes are very good too. Very friendly service; We will definitely eat here again, first God!”
“Just top tier!! The best Jam good in the west coast so far. I come here every time I fly in!
Vegetarian options: Vegan patties, festivals, dumplins. Rice and peas, coleslaw. Great options”

“I gotta say that the food was very good n tasteful, tasted like a home cooked meal for sure for me, which is a big plus for in my book. Jamaica was delicious, real Jamaica. I will definitely be going back to try some more dishes there. Everything was fresh and the staff was very nice and attentive. Excellent place, hands down??.”
“good prices, 17.50 for emma's bagel and turkey sandwich. good quality toppings. the cashier was nice and helped me pick something from the menu. i loved how many regulars i saw! people seem to love this place for the food and the service. street parking nearby. take out, no dine in.”
“One of the BEST Mexican food spots around here. Very affordable food; 2 burrito combos, a torta, and the taco combo and they all come with chips and a salsa cost $32. You can’t beat that price. Food is honestly really really good and great portions too! This is our go to spot, and of course they’re always friendly too so that’s a plus! 🙂↔️🙂↔️”
“Enjoyed Friday night 9/16 live music, food, drinks & great service. 2 wks later we reserved the VIP rm for a memorial and repast service for 25 guests. Marsha delivered everything we asked for and it was wonderful. It was a bittersweet day because our 32nd anniversary was 9/29th. But the love shown for our sisters life was priceless.”
“My quick, quick, quick LOCATION right here close by me! Those PRICES are well WORTH ittt!!! An 🤗 Oh yessss, that DIRTY RICE is the BOMB!!!!”

“I have been wanting to try this place out for quite a while now. I stay downtown Los Angeles, so it’s a bit of a distance to drive. Since the closing of the Vuuka lounge downtown, there isn’t much of a choice when it comes to African cuisine. Yesterday, which was Sunday I finally had a chance to try it while on break at work. I placed my order online and picked it up from the restaurant myself. I ordered the jollof combo plate and peppered goat soup. Both were very delicious and well seasoned. I did not sit and eat inside the restaurant, so I can’t really tell you guys how the atmosphere is but what I can say is that it is definitely a place everyone should try”
“Found this oasis of cigar heaven after calling around to different lounges and I love it! Great appointments, friendly and relaxing atmosphere. Owner is a very knowledgeable and most important attends to his customers with a friendly smile and demeanor. Will be going back.”

“The service was great the gentleman name was Bryon he was very smart and on point. He was by himself but he had the right music playing and a smile on his face. My food was great the server suggested I try the j*** salmon with fried rice and cabbage excellent choice. He also mention Patties which I never had before wow they were good. I appreciate his patience because it was serval occasion were people just walked up trying to order while I was sitting down ordering. Overall great experience I’ll be back soon!!!”
