“Susuru holds a special place in my heart. I’ve tried a number of items on their menus and everything is ???. I can’t stress enough about how good this ramen is. I’ve only known about Susuru for a month or so but have eaten here over 8 times. All of the broths are rich and authentic. The Thai coconut curry ramen is mind blowing and a generous serving. My go tos are the Miso and Tonkatsu. Add spice for extra flavor. I brought my coworkers here and everyone’s bowls were finished down to the last drop of broth. Easily one of the best ramens shops in LA. It’s got a great mom and pop atmosphere. Food comes out quick. What else can I say, I’m in love with Susuru. Anytime I want ramen in the future, I’m going to come here. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. ?“
“Xiao long bao is excellent. Beef noodles are flavored just right. Beef is very tender. Noodle texture is perfect. Braised pork belly is very yummy. One suggestion is to slice the pork belly thinner. It's hard to eat a large chunk and get all the layers.“
“What can I say? This neighborhood sometimes doesn’t feel like home but it’s places like Joy that really help change that. First of all the cashier is attentive, the servers are friendly, fast and efficient. This place has amazing staff and food. The prices are also reasonable and their menu is relatively easy to understand. I had the joy special which came with an appetizer, small soup and a sandwich and iced tea. I chose the pork belly sandwich and it was so delicious the bread was so soft and I wanted to buy a roll of it. I also got the wonton soup which was so flavorful as well. I wasn’t a fan of the seaweed salad but everything else exceeded my expectations. I want to come back to try different menu items but this place is definitely top tier. Parking is a bit tricky but I suggest coming on a weekday when there is less people.Parking: There’s a paid lot in the back of the hardware store“
“Incredible food! Wonderful welcoming service and food was quickly delivered. Chic and fun atmosphere, and very clean. Everything was so good, but make sure to also ask for the garlic chili oil and chili powder if you want to kick up the spicy and garlic flavor a notch! I loved the basil flavor of the spicy fried rice, and the sweet and spicy flavor of the spicy garlic noodles! Everything is vegan but you would never guess it based on how freaking yummy everything is!“
“The food was so authentic it stunned my mom. I've never seen her so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant. It's hard to find dishes like Liangpi and Big Plate Chicken outside of China, and even if you can the flavors are often diluted. The noodles here were perfectly chewy, the stew in the BPC was rich and thick (rivaling Dolan's even). And the prices aren't bad at all. We'll be coming here again, and exploring their other locations too.“
“Looking for the best sidewalk That food in town? This is it. But it's also among the very best tasting Thai food around, whether on the sidewalk or at a regular restaurant.Everything is really well flavored, but the Pad Kapow stir-fried ground pork and basil bowl is not to be missed. Haven't had this at any other restaurants, which is a shame, because it's just that good.“
“My fav Thai noodle spot in LA quaint and unassuming. Located in the retail strip between arbys and bronson studios. Very tastey authentic thai/laos style dishes. You can't go wrong adding crispy pork to some of the dishes where that's an option. Thank you for the wonderful food, and friendly/attentive service.“
“The food was delicious! The pasta freshly made. The service was outstanding! They only charge a 16% fee to help the restaurant/staff, no tip. I felt it wasn’t enough so I wanted to also give a tip and was told no tip needed the check was closed. I highly recommend this restaurant.“
“My beef noodle spot for a couple of years now. I have to visit once a week if possible and I'm in Long Beach and have yet to find a better place in sevetal years! Highly recommended and their other food is amazing as well. I just can't get over how good the soup is so that's what I get every time now. It might seem like a strange location but don't let that stop you and you can thank me later. Enjoy“
“I've eaten here multiple times and the food has always been stellar - if I could rate higher than 5* I would. I particularly love the 然面 and 担担面 but you truly can't go wrong here. Just don't forget to mix your noodles 18 times! Truly one of my favourite spots in SGV and a place I'll continue to visit “
“We wanted something healthy but flavorful for dinner and happened upon this place in the neighborhood, pretty no frills on the inside. Clearly a big focus on deliveries, but there's plenty of tables. We each got a steak banh mi and WOW was it good! So much flavor, and the bread was perfect; hard enough to hold it together, but easy to bite into. The crispy spring rolls were perfect as well, clearly freshly made and decently sized. We also split some noodles and were pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Definitely will be back.“
“How could I forget about this beautiful restaurant for months since my first visit with girl friends last September? I am so glad I suddenly remember this restaurant last Saturday, the first day of the Chinese new year! The interior decoration is perfect for Chinese new year! This is My family's first time visit! They all love it! Perfect for pictures! It is a shame for not many people knowing this place, because they are only two tables occupied during our 1.5 hour visit. The only waitress is Miss Iris from Taipei. She is super nice and friendly! Fortunately, when we left, there were two parties coming in! We love the food maybe because the owner and the chef are from my hometown Taiwan, according to the waitress! The presentation is so beautiful! Perfect for my Facebook postings! I already told my college girlfriends about our next reunion location! Here! Perfect for our group pictures!“
“The 2024 Smorgasburg season kicked off today, 1/14/2024! While it is not close to me, I usually go at least once or twice a month. It's an ideal spot for outdoor dining with diverse culinary offerings, exploring distinctive shops, and soaking in a positive atmosphere.Smorgasburg LA is open every Sunday on the five-acre site of the weekday Alameda Produce Market in Downtown Los Angeles, which is part of a larger, new development called ROW DTLA.Each Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM, you will find dozens of exciting food vendors plus sophisticated shopping from the realms of design, craft, style, vintage, wellness, and more. Cultural events, pop-ups, and other surprises transform the vast site into a new node in Downtown LA's burgeoning scene, and a unique destination for the area.Today, I tried Pad See Ew from the Radna Silom vendor. In terms of rating for that, I want to give it 4.5 stars due to price and portion ($15+tax and not much on the plate). I remember it being larger before.Overall, it is a must-check out for various foodie options.Tip:-Free 2 hr parking-Take your food outside of the main space and sit in the main ROW area-Go with others to try many things“
“One of our favorite Hollywood restaurants!! A hidden gem not to miss. Authentic thai cuisine at very reasonable prices.Have eaten for a couple decades in Thai Town but only went to Siam Sunset a few years ago. This was the first place I've ever eaten pad kra pao & it has become my favorite Thai dish! And Siam easily makes it the best!Only knock is there's no on site parking, but street parking is usually not too tough depending on the day. Still it's worth the walk.Would give it six stars if it were possible.“
“Best Thai in the area. Been here many years ago in La Brea but still the best. The chicken curry is excellent, generous portion, savory and authentic. The basil stewed pork leg was very good but it would be nice to get less fatty parts. When you ask for spicy hot, they delivered spicy hot. Will come back soon!“
“This place is amazing. Food is great, service is top notch the only complaint I have is the plastic dividers. But I understand that’s required in restaurants now. They’re a bit too close to your seat.Spring rolls. Are frrrresh!Pho is Hot as advertised and affordable. Good prices! Fresh ingredients!Highly recommend the ban mi.“
“It was my first time dining at Thai Central. It is a gem in East Hollywood for a Thai food. The food is very tasty. We ordered a few things, Kao Clook Ka phi, Boat noodle, and Papaya salad - the was delicious. And awesome service - from getting our order in and getting the food from the kitchen to our table. I like the cleanliness of the restaurant. We dropped the lid of something on the floor , and the server took the lid from us, he cleaned it and brought it back - impressive. Very nice and friendly servers, great food!“
“Best Ramen in Silver Lake. The broth is uncious and satisfying. If you have no allergies, get the egg (I add dried seaweed as well). Large servings even at the smaller portion price point. Inside dining is tight, but outside heating does the trick.“
“A very small Thai restaurant but great food. There isn't a very big parking lot in the back but you can find parking nearby on the streets. There also isn't many tables inside so that is why the wait times get so long. Luckily, we came at a good time and didn't have to wait. The employees are friendly and have good service too.We ordered the pad thai, pad see ew, chicken satay, khao soi. The satay was okay but I really liked the pad thai and pad see ew. However, the portions are a bit on the smaller side for the price. One dish is barely enough for one person. But I guess the size is good for trying different dishes with friends.“
“Pescatarian/ vegetarian options! I was surprised I got through on telephone to ask about their menu options. Whoever answered the phone had great customer service and was patient and hospitable with my takeout order. Parking lot was a bit stressful and tight space wise. Some of the best Vietnamese I’ve had in the Los Angeles area though !Vegetarian options: Banh mi“
“When thinking of soup in the Pasadena area we have our favorite places. Last Friday evening we tried this fairly new Ramen place that has been open about two years. When walking in we were greeted and seated quickly. The place was not so busy for a Friday evening but later more customers did arrive which is a good sign. We were seated and the menu was simple and prices were in the range of other soup restaurants in the area. We got our water and tea quickly and the servers kept our water glasses full. Very attentive staff. My wife ordered the gyoza and the Tonkatsu ramen and I had the Shoyu Ramen. Food was delicious and if you don't like your food too salty, get the more creamier Tonkatsu Ramen. My Shoyu ramen had spinach which was surprisingly delicious. The food portions looked small but once we started eating they were very hearty portions. I was not able to finish my noodles. We will definitely be back as they also have Mazesoba here which is dry noodles with egg. Can't wait to try these dishes.“
“Amazing food, friendly service! The waitress explained how everything was and was super friendly. The soup came very quickly and it was absolutely delicious. There are several soup base flavors, I picked the sour/spicy one which reminds me of pickled veggie with fish soup, which I absolutely love. They also have small dishes, the potato strips are the best I've had in the US so far, they were thin and soft and reminded me of China.Prices were reasonable too!“
“Visited this nice family owned restaurant after a visit to a theme park, and the staff was so welcoming the prices are decent and the quality of food was amazing! I have zero complaints. The owner gifted my kids Halloween candy and also a box of chocolate sticks! I was so surprised to see such treatment and filled my kids bellies out! Recommend this place 110%“
“I love this place so much!! The prices are reasonable. You can make your pho a large for a small price. The fried shrimp egg rolls came out hot and fresh.FYI - they put the rare steak into the pho rather than on the side. If you want your meat rare then ask for it on the side.“
“Really great pad see ew and good service. The soft drinks have free refills and come in huge glasses so that's a plus as well. The restaurant was quiet and the tables were a bit close together, so that wasn't ideal, but overall def worth it for the great food.“
“Lovely lunch here, the space is pretty small so if you have a big group I would call ahead. Everything had lots of good flavor and spice! The staff member my friend and I interacted with was really nice and helpful! She had the Pad Thai and I ordered the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) then we split the Army of Veggie, portion sizes were great, entrees are big enough for 2 people to share. If you aren't a fan of spicy food I would recommend asking that the spice level on the Pad Kee Mow be knocked down but if you love spicy food it is perfect.A bonus was mentioning that I needed to make sure everything was gluten free as I have celiacs and the gentlemen said that all the sauces they make and use are gluten free to start so nothing needed to be modified! I didn't experience any kind of reaction afterwards and I can usually tell within 20 minutes or so!!Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly“
“Very solid spicy beef noodle soup! It wasn't really spicy but the broth was super flavorful and the meat and vegetables only added to it. The knife cut noodles were abundant and very nice and chewy. It was a pretty good sized bowl. We also tried the beef roll and it was very, very good. I expected it to be greasier because of the pancake and sweeter because of the hoisin but it wasn't. It was perfectly balanced between meat, pancake and the scallions and cilantro. It even came with some chili oil to make each bite extra tasty. We really enjoyed our meal and are glad this place is within walking distance of our apartment. Everyone who worked here was very bright, cheerful and friendly, so the service was great.“
“From left to right and top to bottom, passion fruit lemonade, lychee lemonade, three flavor dumplings, pork shumai, 2x pork xiao long bao, chicken pot stickers, minced pork noodles, spicy wontons and wood ear mushroom.I would say pork xiao long bao doesn’t beat DTF. I think the experience of slurping the soup from the xiao long bao in a spoon is a experience you can’t take away and I did not feel that same experience eating the dumplings from Hui Tou Xiang. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still good and the chili oil is a must try, so it’s a place to stop by if you’re in the area.“
“Ding Tai Fung: A Five-Star Culinary Delight! Exquisite flavors, impeccable service, and an ambiance that transports you to the heart of Asia. From the delectable dumplings to the mouthwatering dishes, every bite is a heavenly experience. The attention to detail and the dedication of the staff create an unforgettable dining affair. Prepare to indulge in a gastronomic journey that will leave you craving for more. Truly deserving of its five-star reputation!“
“Such a nice cozy ramen bar! I got to try their tonkatsu ramen and it was fantastic! If you get it during Hoppy Hour, it’s 2 ramen for 22 bucks which is neat. Will definitely come back to try their “Heartattack” ramen because I love their chashu.“
“Decent Tawianese food! They got me caring about Rice Rolls again (and at my low carb age!). Order and pay via QR code. Grab your sauces, utensils and napkins from community counter. Server will bring out your items. You can ask for bowls/plates. I listed below what I'd try again and what I'd skip every visit:What I would try again:- $6.50 Salty Rice Rolls with pickle. Soft, not overly thick on the rice. The pickles really made the roll. Unsure how other ingredients would taste like but we both are accustom to pickles in ours. Their purple rice roll was sold out by late afternoon before closing on a weekday. An item I stopped ordering after a certain age...where carbs you eat can add up a roll of fat on you within the same day. This is a great hefty snack to bring on a hardy hike though.- $6 Egg Omelette. Typical. If it's consistent like this then it's a normal just dish for many Taiwanese breakfast goers.- Free House homemade garlic light sauce was sweet and memorable. I can see why my friend had me try it.- I guess soy milk $2.95? I'm no longer a soy milk drinker so it's difficult for me to determine. I don't normally order this and rice rolls anymore for breakfast. But they go hand in hand for me.- $6.50 Beef Sandwich. It was decent. I can't remember if it's worth getting again but can be a lighter option vs rice roll.Okay Items:- $13.95 Beef Noodle Soup. Was decent. The broth felt clean, not overly heavy salty or savory.- $7 Pigs ear was tasty but pieces were fragmented.- $29 frozen xiao long bao. We bought the frozen xiao long bao to try at home. It was decent. Not my favorite but okay. SO didn't like the gel-like or what I call mochi-like texture included in theirs.Would not care to get again:- Wonton Soup. The soup broth was flavorful. Wontons were okay.- Diakon reminded me of a hash brown. But it was dense, and grounded finer than what you'd find at dim sum. I'm okay with no ordering this again.- Seaweed was packed but no flavor? Not something I'll order again, unless they add some more taste to it.- Many reviewers had a horrible experience with oyster omelette so we just cancelled that out of thought.First visit was with a friend who didn't really pick much of the normal breakfast I'd order. It was nice trying a lot of items I don't normally pick all the time. But definitely wanted to come back to try other items. This place reminds me a bit like the Dean Sin World (Shanghainese) with frozen goodies and pastries. I loved their xiao long bao but the maker changed, and it's not longer my favorite. It's a different style China vs Taiwanese. Yi Mei has Taiwanese versions which has a different texture and size.Looking forward to trying other items next time.“
“EXCEPTIONAL for a strip mall. For sushi lovers or foodies - this actually IS good sushi. Soft supple rolls. So tasty you almost don’t need sauces - a sign of quality ingredients. Look at the amount of eel on this; a sigh this place respects good food done well, and respects and cares about their customers. I drive across town from Toluca Lake for this.“
“10/10! I came here for a solo dinner on a weekday night. The servers were extremely attentive and friendly and made some great menu recommendations. The food came out quickly. I got the three item bento box, which was absolutely delicious and a great value, especially for the neighborhood. Definitely a hidden gem in West Hollywood - the neighborhood needs more of these types of local, friendly spots with amazing food and great prices. I can't wait to come back!“
“Solid pho! My partner said the Arnold Palmer was great and I thought the Bahn Me was exactly what I expected and wanted. The fries were actually my favorite part, funny enough! Crunchy and yummy! The restaurant was pretty small but nice and clean. A nice, easy choice for Pho!Vegetarian options: Tofu and veggie options all aroundParking: In a plaza with accessible parkingKid-friendliness: Saw they had a high chair for children“
“Such great Chinese food! I'm glad they're open on Tuesdays now. I usually get pick up for Chicken Fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, or Shanghai noodles. The food is always perfect and delicious. Today though... I ordered SnS Chicken and when I went to pick it up they had told me they are no longer mixing the sauce in because it gets soggy. I love it soggy!! And it's not even soggy. Just a perfect sauce mix ratio. So who ever complained about it being soggy... you just ruined it!!! I'll order it next time and ask that the sauce is mixed in.“
“Came here for the first time on a Thursday night right as they opened. We were the only sit down customers and the gentleman at the register waited on us hand and foot. We ordered the veggie egg rolls, calimari, orange chicken with white rice, and beef chow phun and it was all delicious. The orange chicken had a nice kick, the calamari wasn't too rubbery and I love the flavor the jalapeños added. He even gave us two complimentary teas- the mango mint which was to DIE for, and the black Sesame milk tea, which had a subtle and honestly kinda watery, but the aftertaste was really good. I could kinda tell this service was in hopes that we would leave a review, and he basically confirmed that by saying they were running a promotion where they hoped we would leave a review- however I started leaving this review before he said that lol. Anyways, great service and great food“
“By far one of the most authentic Taiwanese restaurants I've been to. I say this because they've nailed down classic dishes you'd find in Taiwan. The oyster pancake was spot on along with the sauce. Service is pretty fast. Definitely come here for delicious Taiwanese comfort food!“
“I had the spicy cold dipping noodles and the crispy chicken. They were so delicious. The sauce for the dipping noodles was very refreshing. It was a big bowl, I couldn’t finish it. The crispy chicken was good too, I liked the sauce a lot.“
“Good food and awesome service! This place is a local staple here in Pasadena. Dine in or Carry out. My daughter and I grabbed lunch here with my grandson. They were so good about accommodating us with a 2 year old. Observed what appeared to be some regulars come in - obvious when they know your name.“
“We are visiting from Colorado and stopped by for a bogo 50% off roll, we had the dragon roll and another roll, and I can't recall the name. Sorry Anyway, our server was very attentive, friendly, and helpful he knocked it out of the park!As for prices with the bogo, we paid 25 dollars for 2 rolls and were very much satisfied.100% would recommend you try them out for fast friendly service and great price for tasty sushi!“
“I've been coming here for the last 5 years and this place always hits the mark! The food is consistently fresh and delicious and the workers (especially the owner) are friendly and happy to service you. Def a great pick if you're craving Thai and in the heart of Hollywood.“
“This place is amazing! I came here starving! Ordered some dumplings and left happy! I ordered the pork wirh leek boiled dumpling, wonton in spicy sauce, and cabbage shrimp and pork boiled dumplings. They brought us some tea and I have ro say these dumplings are so good ! They didn't take long and I would come back here every single time. Check them out! I think this may be mybplace for dumplings for sure!“
“Had dinner there with my wife, nice staff and quickly served. The waitress was nice and allowed to substitute chicken with tofu (your choice of regular or fried) for the curry, which was not on the menu. My wife really enjoys the mint chicken but I have to say that the curry was a little watery and tasted like most of the spice came from black pepper. A little odd, would probably try something else next time.“
“Was able to try out this food truck at a recent event. My spouse got the shrimp and steak hibachi. They really liked their dish. They also give you a large portion.I got the noodles and shrimp noodles. The noodles were quite soft and tasty. I also loved that they gave me plenty of shrimp. I only wish they had a sauce that was a little more spicy. I took off one star because both dishes are suppose to come with 'vegetables' but they only come with squash. I think they need to add mushroom, carrots, or some other vegetable besides just quash to make it more tasty. Even some green onion would have been nice !“
“Was in LA for a few nights staying at a nearby hotel & saw Nat’s Thai as a nearby choice. I got Tom Kha soup with the chicken & Drunken Noodles also with chicken & they were both delicious. Especially the Tom Kha soup mmmmmIt’s in an old strip mall that’s seen better days but you don’t come (or don’t) to a place like Nat’s because of that. Really good, tasty food at a really good price by staff that was friendly. I highly recommend!“
“We stumbled into this restaurant by accident. Ordered a Thai tea, the Cornish hen with rice, shrip and tofu sprill rolls with peanut butter sauce and a Pho bowl. I was very pleasantly surprised with how tasty my Cornish hen and rice dish was I recommend it!! We'll be back for sure! Parking was easy. The restaurant is in a plaza.“
“The Huntington needs no introduction but the renewed and greatly expanded Japanese and Chinese gardens are amazing. In between is the Jade Court Cafe. Does what it says on the tin: large open air courtyard with plenty of tree shade and quiet corners. Fast self-service food counter. Great Korean Chinese food delivered to your table. Brilliant!“
“1st time here today and I was impress. We arrived around 530pm so no wait times. We ordered the F1 which was amazing. The broth was very delicious, and although it said spicy. It was not. We also ordered the F2 non spicy and some dumplings on the side. The prices were good. Can't wait to comeback!!!!“
“The service was wonderful. Our waiter was so attentive and accommodating. The food was overall good. I definitely wished the steam vegetable dumpling tasted a bit more fresh. I do recommend trying the vegetable noodles. They were very delicious.“
“Cute place. Lovely staff. Neat atmosphere. When you walk in through the humble entryway, you're immediately greeted by a welcoming smile and a hello. We were asked if we wanted to dine or order takeout. Dining in offers you seating options up the stairs into the the room you can see to through the open wall at it's floor level. I found it quite enjoyable being able to see into the room above. Very cool style. You order, then you eat. You pay at the end. My friends and I were treated well and wished a happy holiday. So thoughtful! If you're looking for something new, try here!“
