“2024 update: dined in for the first time and was underwhelmed with the food. Chickpea curry is decent, kaya toast is decent. The dan dan noodles are straight up not good! Extremely salty and fatty. Skipped dessert (unheard of for me) because the main dishes already made me feel so heavy and unhealthy.2022 takeout review: The laksa is incredible. It is easily two meals (can serve two people). I'm not a spice person and this was at the upper end of my spice tolerance but not too spicy. A side of clay oven bread is really good to dip in it. My only complaint was I ordered takeout and my order was ready 15 minutes later than the original estimate.“

“I’ve go to this restaurant at least once a month. Everything on the menu is good. My favorite is the brisket Pho, pork egg rolls, shrimp rice wraps, chowmein and the hot jasmine tea. The hot tea is loose leaf, served in a lil tea pot. So you may pour yourself as you go. They will give you a to go cup for what’s left as well. All the condiments are on the tables already included the chop sticks and straws. They have fountain drinks and drinks in the refrigerator for you to choose. My favorite is the jarrito guava or the parrot guava. They also have glass bottles YooHoo and snacks like chips and chocolate bars at the front. The place is good for kids. My daughter enjoys the quiet ambience and the seating fits your party comfortably. The owner Steve and his wife are amazing nice people. The parking is ample as well. My favorite restaurant overall especially for taking my toddler.“

Between the grilled pork & chicken, I prefer the pork even though it doesn't have the char/grilled marks of the thịt nướng that I'm used to. The pickled veggies were crisp but a bit muted in acidity, needed the pickled onions & habaneros for some oomph of chili heat. I liked the flavorful cilantro ginger dressing best; if you do a combo, I would advise an 80:20 sesame & tamarind vinaigrette mix. The ratio of protein:base & veggies were on point that I had a bite of everything from start to finish... not quite authentic, but certainly satisfying & yummy! They have a Maine Root Soda Fountain... you gotta try the mexicane cola!Not in my neck of the woods, but I'll stop by Mȳ Lai when I'm infrequently in the area.Recommended: BYOB (better bargain & more food than bánh mì).“
“I’m not sure why it took me this long to find out about this place, but they have the most authentic char koay teow you can find in Los Angeles! (As close as it can get without the one ingredient that is banned here) Their Hainan Chicken Rice and Mee Goreng is pretty spot on as well. If you are Malaysian/Singaporean living on the west side and has cravings for food from home, look no further!I wish they have more offerings like Roti Canai or Hokkien Mee but being an Asian fusion place half their offerings are western. The dipping sauce is a fish sauce with chili. This is a great dish for hot summer days. Fries: Also freshly made and seasoned with salt. Thai tea: Tasted not too sweet and very creamy. Ambiance: Mom and Pop shop with a lot to offer, bakery, Vietnamese dishes, Vietnamese sandwiches, fruits, frozen egg rolls, etc. Staffs are nice. Yes, it was a little rundown and outside there was a lot of garbage and old furniture but inside was clean although it was older, it was still very clean. The food was absolutely delicious!
