“Went for dinner last night. Food was delicious. Service was as well. We saw a table of miserable people complaining about everything and felt so bad for the server that we tipped her extra. Do better people. If you’re already miserable before you walk through the door, then just keep in “

“The food here is excellent. Staff is very friendly and kind. Felt a little rushed towards the end of the dinner. Probably because they are only opened for a few hours. Overall, I can't get over how delish this food is. Definitely a new favorite. I recommend the Foccacia Bread Board for an appetizer. The bread paired with honey, pears and mozzarella was divine. The Manicotti was so good and the chocolate cake with a glass of moscato was the perfect way to end the meal. 5 stars!“

“This little restaurant situated in the corner of a strip mall is an absolute revelation. It's an unbelievable addition to the area and a must try. We started by ordering a tray of their chipotle chicken fettuccine. It will ruin you for all other places that offer a version of chicken fettuccine. It's beyond good. The chipotle sauce is creamy and has a nice subtle kick. The chicken is grilled perfectly and yet stays moist. The pasta itself has the perfect bite to it. I can't say enough. It's that good. Next up we tried the Italian chopped salad. The salad had no business being that good. I hate salads and this salad converted me instantly. The greens were crispy and fresh and the dressing was to die for. This is one salad you will not regret ordering. We came back the next day and ordered the lasagna. This lasagna does not belong in a restaurant without Michelin stars. It was layer upon layer of cheesy awesomeness with a delicate marinara sauce in between. I can't wait for the day where you can taste pictures because this lasagna blew our mind. We are fat boys so we had to give the Meat Lovers pizza a try. There are no words. The dough has a perfect texture and the cheese melts so good. The toppings were generous and you had a bite of something meaty in every bite. Last, but not least, the bread. We tried the regular bread rolls but there was nothing regular about them. Absolutely fluffy pillows of goodness that were good by themselves or great with any of our pasta dishes. We also had the garlic bread which was maybe the only pedestrian thing about our meal. I prefer my garlic bread a bit more buttered but held up well to the sauces. Finally, the bruschetta. Crispy toast with the freshest tomatoes and dressing. A must have if you have the room. Don't sleep on this spot. It's worth the visit from literally anywhere.“

“This is a small place, but a small place with so much heart. One of the highlights of my annual business trip to Pasadena. Great coffee, breakfast food, deli sandwiches, beer, wine, etc. I once got a Cordova breakfast burrito every day three days in a row and love every second of eating it. (This was last month) anyway, can’t go wrong!“

“Went for Valentine’s Day dinner… keep in mind that most “holiday” meals with a set menu are generally inflated in costs. But showcase the “best of…” the restaurants offerings. In this case the food was tasty…IF you have the stomach capacity of a 4 year old. You know those fancy restaurants that have one or two bites of food and some swirled sauces on the plate for presentation… welp, this was a version of that.Portions were ridiculously small almost angry worthy. The food quality and flavor is good but cmon, 4 pieces of tofu? In an Italian restaurant?Beet salad with literally one slice of beet and 1.5 bites of cabbage? It was like getting served after dinner mint sized portions for your actual meal.Server was nice, I’d give a 4 out of 5 since he did not follow up at all after the initial order or check on drinks.Oh and an automatic 20% gratuity on the check. All in all the food is tasty, service is good by today’s lower standards, but the price to value ratio is -5 starsBut hey if you’re on a diet, this is the place to go!!! 5 bites and your whole meal is done!!Might be worth a chance to try again on a regular menu and dining evening…we’ll see“

The 1894 Wine Bar • $$

“So, I was not expecting to have a beer while perusing a nee bookstore this weekend, but lo and behold! I desperately needed to charge my dying phone, and couldn’t find an outlet anywhere in the book aisles. So I stumbled across The 1894, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. Their happy hour is awesome- a french pilsner for only $6! And the staff went out of their way to accommodate me near an outlet where i can drink and charge my phone. Again, was not expecting this pleasant bar, but will def be back!“

Vino's Back Alley Wine Bar • $$
10 N 1st St, Alhambra - 7.98 miles

“Been here for a work luncheon and was compelled to come back because the food was good. I decided to come back here to pre-party with the bestie before I sent her off to Granada to do her salsa thang on a Saturday night. IT was packed. However, I love that it's quaint, modern, and clean! I was able to snag two seats at the bar and order some wines. I had the red flight which had 3 reds (from CA wineries) for $15. When the bestie came, we ordered a bottle of Prosecco for $35 so that was a steal. I had a beer after and everything was fine in terms of drinks. Nothing out of ordinary, but I was glad there wasn't anything that made me regret swallowing. It's a cute, casual wine bar that isn't there to super impress like it has a secret wine vault with wallet-killing wines, but I like the fact that it supports native California wineries with reasonable pricing! It's definitely NOT a place to host large parties, but good for parties of 4 or under. I will come back again since they close at 11pm. They have a small menu of entrees, bites and cheese/charcuterie bites. It's meant to be a wine bar, DUH! :) I will be back for another good, low-key time!“
