My wife and I had meatloaf sandos because we haven't either of us had meatloaf in decades and we both liked it when we did eat meat. Scott's (hey Scott) meatloaf isn't like your traditional meatloaf with granules of ground beef. Instead, it is more the texture of a fine dice of beef, and man, it is mind-blowing good! I hear the Reuben will make you want to move to Oceanside. I'd love to see what this place could do with a tuna melt. The fries are superior and, well, they nailed it. Love the 60s/70s counter-culture vibe and, of course, the surf undertone (it's blocks from the waves). The service is what you would hope for and holds a soupcon of joy behind it. Scott is personable and you can see his heart is in the food and the restaurant. Finally...calling all meat eaters! This place is the place for you. I used to eat meat. I too know the dissatisfaction vegan food can bring. In short, I am not unsympathetic. You won't be dissatisfied here. I wouldn't be surprised if you returned and brought other people. I've tried all the meat substitutes and this isn't like that. They got hold of something here and it's really good.”

“I stumbled upon this place biking along HWY 101. I ordered the Lowers. Strawberries, banana, Pnut Butter, and Granola acai bowl. I had them add coconut chips. I don't eat a lot of acai I've only had a few but this is the best one I've ever had. It was very well made. Lots of peanut butter so I didn't run out. It was served with the nice Dome top that I turned over and put half the plentiful fruit into so I had it throughout the whole bowl. I just can't stop thinking about how good it was I can't wait to go back next time I am in the area”

The blue cheese burger was pretty tasty as well and I don't even like blue cheese like that. The monkey fries were good but not something I would order again. Almost thier spin on animal fries. I'll just order the jam burger twice instead. I got the lavender lemonade as well, had me feeling lovely, even tho I got burger juice all over the place. It's pricey for what I got, 2 burgers, one monkey fry, two drinks it was $50. I mean it's downtown so not a surprise, wish it was a wee bit cheaper because I can't be going broke out here for a delicious burger lol.”

Our visit: friendly cashier, but maybe spending too much effort on being too nice. Missed a burger we ordered. Of course, a little fault on our part cuz they most likely read off the order to us.

In addition to the missing burger, another burger was totally off when we got home- 3x3 (paid for it too according to receipt) we ordered was a double double and wrong toppings.

So 2/5 burgers messed up. Not a great ratio.

But In N Out is solid all around usually, so I guess 4 stars is OK.”

“Hit or Miss with Tacos, but Great Taco Tuesday Deals

Located in a quiet plaza, Los Tacos is a small branch of a local chain. While the restaurant isn’t large, its grilling setup is impressive—you’ll immediately spot the rotating spit for al pastor pork and the grill for beef as you walk in.

One of the big draws here is their Taco Tuesday special: from 5 pm to close, you can get Carne Asada, Pollo Asado, Carnitas, and Al Pastor tacos for just $2 each. They also offer a 5-taco combo for $12, available all day Tuesday, where you can choose between Carnitas and Al Pastor.

I decided to go with the 5-taco combo, and while the carnitas were satisfying with their soft and tender shredded pork, the al pastor was a letdown. The pork was over-marinated, giving it a sour taste, and the grilling was uneven, leaving some parts burnt. Unfortunately, since I had chosen 3 al pastor tacos, I ended up disappointed with the overall flavor.

Next time, I’d like to try the chicken and beef tacos to see if they fare better. One thing to note: they also charge an extra fee for card payments, so be aware of that.”

“From the first course to the last our server was extremely attentive and helped us navigate the menu. We had the 8 course tasting menu and honestly, I couldn’t find a single dish to say anything but amazing things about. After dinner we got a brief tour of the private dining area and back of house, shook hands with the executive chef and got to thank him for helping curate such a special birthday dinner for my partner and myself. It truly was a journey through coastal Mexico with every bite and the staff was incredibly kind. If you have an opportunity to experience this place, you should absolutely book the reservation! The chef’s and staff here earned their star for great reason!”

Like the roll up garage door windows, lots of outdoor picnic bench seating under shade canopies (which we couldn't use on this rainy day). Beer selection is pretty good, we had the meat lovers 12 inch pizza and liked the thin crispy crust, a bit skimpy on the toppings but tasty enough.

Parking: I think 10 spots between 3 (?) businesses in this very small strip mini mall.”

I ordered Szechuan tofu with rice and then vegetable chow mein (which was amazing) and my nana ordered salt and pepper wings and vegetable egg rolls. She claims they were excellent. I'm usually a big eater but could not finish it all. Place is mid sized, if you intend to have a large party, you will take up most of the space in this place. Tables would have to be moved together if you wanted to sit together. Other than that it is perfect for 1-4 people to grab lunch and go. They take phone orders. I'm also vegetarian so there are options for you if you are as well. Think that covers it, stop by yourself and enjoy!

Vegetarian options: Lot of tofu options or just different vegetable dishes

Dietary restrictions: My Nana can't eat beef or pork and I am vegetarian. Still a good selection of options for the both of us”

“I have been going to this restaurant for five years, not once has it ever disappointed absolutely love it. Whenever someone asks me for a sushi restaurant or really any restaurant this is where I always say to go.

Kid-friendliness: Very friendly waiters and waitresses. never encountered foul language from anyone ever. But a bit pricey for young children. I do believe forks are available upon request, if not they have chopstick helpers that allow anyone to use chopsticks with ease.”

We parked our car, walked into the grass carpeted area and felt like we were no longer on Oceanside Blvd. The area they have set up with tables, fame heaters and a large screen TV is great. It is immaculate, and actually cleaner than a lot of local restaurants I've been in. The young lady who helped us since it was our first time, was excellent. She was making sure the condiment area was supper clean, I could have eaten off of it, lol. She had a great smile and was very welcoming as she helped us with answering our questions about the menu. The food was excellent, and the portions were great. Pricing was excellent and we will definitely be back. Again, both the area and truck are immaculate and the cleanest I've ever seen. For us, the papaya salad was too fish sauce strong, it was good, but overpowering.

We enjoyed the beef curry and our tofu kabocha curry. Perfectly flavored, a 5/10 is genuinely a five, and the portions were great with just enough to bring home leftovers.

As a group we enjoyed the ribs appetizer, but the beef was tough and overcooked. Flavorwise the ribs were great, but chewy.”

At the time I thought both staff members were extremely friendly and the coffee was delicious as I waited for my ride outside. A few days later I realized I left my hydro flask outside on one of their tables and I was back in Charlotte NC. I reached out to them and Jason was extremely responsive and sent it back to me no questions asked. This just shows you the type of quality individuals that work here and having killer coffee and a clean cool establishment are icing on the cake. Anytime I’m in Oceanside, I will be definitely stopping in!”

“Smallish restaurant with tiny parking lot of about 10 spots shared between 3 businesses. Like the roll up garage door windows, lots of outdoor picnic bench seating under shade canopies (which we couldn't use on this rainy day). Beer selection is pretty good, we had the meat lovers 12 inch pizza and liked the thin crispy crust, a bit skimpy on the toppings but tasty enough.

Parking: I think 10 spots between 3 (?) businesses in this very small strip mini mall.”

“Usually In N Out is 5 star for quality of food, price, and service. Tempted to give 3 stars for this visit alone.

Our visit: friendly cashier, but maybe spending too much effort on being too nice. Missed a burger we ordered. Of course, a little fault on our part cuz they most likely read off the order to us.

In addition to the missing burger, another burger was totally off when we got home- 3x3 (paid for it too according to receipt) we ordered was a double double and wrong toppings.

So 2/5 burgers messed up. Not a great ratio.

But In N Out is solid all around usually, so I guess 4 stars is OK.”

My daughters couldn't stop raving about their meals, and my wife and I were impressed with the diverse menu options. Our server was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, from recommendations to making sure our drinks were always topped off. The atmosphere was welcoming and family-friendly, yet it still felt like a special night out.
