Some years earlier, one of the sushi chefs and former student of mine paid for our meal as a surprising and much appreciated gesture of gratitude. Thank you.”

Get to your reservation a little early and enjoy the surrounding historical buildings gathered from around Oxnard into a Heritage Center. Each property has a little description that is quite educational. Or, wait until you’ve enjoyed the great food for that after-dessert stroll. The food was amazing, from Mahi Salad to full steak dinner with excellent merlot. Same a few sips of that red wine to enjoy with their chocolate cake with raspberry, whipped cream & pecan topping. Whew. As you can witness with the photo, the servings are huge. (We took home another full meal - really.)”

Two visits so far -- one on the weekend and one midweek. There's a mariachi on the weekend, and futbol on the TV screens always.
Three of us split a big order of ceviche the first time and it was just plain wonderful! The second visit I tried the sopa siete mares which ended up providing me with lunch the next day! Others in our group had fish prepared different ways, all of which were excellent.
The wait staff was helpful, personable and didn't make fun of my ordering in Spanish (and checking in English)!
So don't hesitate -- try this place!”

For our group of 8, we ordered the pulled pork and pulled chicken, along with baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and Southern green beans. Every dish was absolutely amazing! My husband ordered a carne asada burrito. We were both very happy with our selection. The season was perfect! This place seems to be a good spot for menudo. By the way corn tortillas are hand made. Oh ! What's a Memela ? It's a thick hand made tortilla with melted cheese and the sauce of your choice. Yes!!! An opened quesadilla! Between a quesadilla and a gordita ! “Pizza is always good! I usually get pizza by the slice for lunch. It's a pretty big serving for just one slice, so it's definitely worth it! The dough is made fresh by them, which makes it even better compared to places that just use pre-made crusts. Highly recommend trying this place out!”

“I have been a fan of Wagon Wheel brewery for a few years now. We discovered them while visiting family, and I will now drive 4.5 hours to stock up on our favorites. I love to spend a great mealtime in the Taproom enjoying hands down some of the best burgers and “pub grub” with the nicest people in the business. Always eager to recommend great seasonal pairings and there is always something fun happening that makes me wish I lived closer to enjoy it more frequently and to bring more family and friends. I go home and Rave about this place! I recommend asking for staff favorites from the bar staff and you will probably get to meet Shawn, the chef, Jamison the owner, or Connor, bar manager. “I’ve lived out here 26 years and I’ve been asking everybody where a good tamales are. Yesterday I went here and ordered two dozen and these are the best damn tamales I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve been to Costa Rica & los angeles & Mexico - everywhere !these are just crazy good. Totally authentic tender meat moist masa, I’m really pleased they sell the Birria tacos and other things I’m sure you’d be delighted if you ordered anything on the menu!! Crazy good. The green Molé red sauces are delicious. My sons are just eating them up right now we’re full and we’re still eating them because they’re that good!”
