“Such a tiny place, but Charlie and Zoe do an awesome job! We have been there several times, most recently on New Year's Eve. The live music (The Cliffnotes) was great and the meal (braised short ribs, polenta, roasted veggies) was the best I have had in a long time.“
“First stop when we come through the Pismo area. Everything is delicious! My favorite thing is the octopus appetizer with a glass of wine. Seasoned to perfection. Service is fantastic as well. This would be my regular place if I was a local.“
“Driving through town, we needed a bite and want to thank all you 5-star reviewers of Spoon Trade for steering us here because the food was fantastic! It was a busy Saturday afternoon and we got one of the last tables available. Super friendly service straight away and a great vibe all around. Very interesting menu! A diner for foodies. Wife had the vegetarian Tikka with a side sausage patty, which she loved, and my son had the Benedict, which of course I tasted via dad tax and it was rich and yummy. I was going to get the chicken and waffles, which looked delicious on other people's tables, but opted for the duck noodle soup, which was a tasty ramen. It was on the pricy side, but everything was such great quality, original recipes, and made to order. We look forward to visiting again!“
“This little hidden gem provides an intimate and welcoming ambiance for wine lovers and foodies as Region also partners with Hotel SLO's restaurant, Piadina. Highly recommend if you are wanting the perfect night out with wine and great food!“
“Wonderful selection of international and domestic wines. Love that they get people out of their comfort zone with something interesting! They can supply you with some domestic staples but it's always nice to see a location not be afraid to get you out of your boring comfort zone. Reds, whites, sparkling. Great cheese plates and friendly staff that always makes it enjoyable to swing in and grab a glass!“
“Cool vibe, great service, and awesome music. Good range of local beer, wine, and cider. Light snacks available too. The owners were mixing records while we were there and told us that Thursdays are "bring your own record" days. If you come early, they might even be able to teach out to spin on our own. Perfect addition to SLO: great for a date spot or casual night out.“
“The champagne selection/membership really introduces you to so many sparkling wines I wouldve never been exposed to. Highly recommend for any Central Coast local to get a membership, the selections are always top notch and well curated. I always look forward to my quarterly pick up.“
“An absolutely wonderful wine tasting. They have a cute little tasting room to enjoy your wine. Loved all their wines they had to offer - the Syrah and the NV Eclipse were our favorites, and we took home a bottle of each. Evan was super friendly and knowledgeable during our tasting. They also offer a small food menu, and the Shuck Shack Oysters are the best delicious addition to your wine tastings. Overall, a very enjoyable time wine tasting. Highly recommend, and we are looking forward to coming back.“
“My wife and I first found Monarch Grove on a trip to Pismo Beach searching for local wineries. We found their Groupon deal and paid a visit, which we were utterly charmed by. We love the proximity to the Amtrak station, the delicious, fruit-forward flavor of their wine, and how they are a small, local operation. We soon joined their membership club and ordered their wine all the way back to Los Angeles for our wedding, which our guests absolutely loved. We'd absolutely recommend Monarch Grove.“
“Parking sucks - all spots in the small lot were taken when I pulled in and I never saw anyone pull out within the 30 minutes I was here, after having paid for parking down the street. The line was long and didn’t move fast. The environment is hip, but loud. Don’t expect to get work done here. The coffee is great - five stars here.“
“What a great find in the charming town of San Louis Obispo. The young lady who helped us took her time to make sure we knew all the different options available. There were so many wines to choose from and she was super knowledgeable on all of them, while taking into account our preferences. We ended buying 5 bottles and enjoyed them over a fun girls weekend camping in a vineyard. Perfection! Bonus: they are very dog friendly and even let my dog choose her favorite wine lol.“
“Lovely grounds, attentive staff and good wines. We joined the wine club and, a couple weeks later, received a personalized, hand-written note thanking us. Very classy! Over the last 35 years, we have joined many wine clubs but never received a thank you note!“
“Ordered local bottle of wine online to save on shipping costs. There were options for pick-up and I chose the nearest location in Pismo Beach. Great online service, nice local selections, and fair prices. Order was ready the following day. Thanks.“
“Located in the walkable Arroyo Grande village, this is really two excellent wineries in one place. Really great, friendly experience, with excellent wines. The new location is lovely, with indoor, patio, and outdoor seating, with tasteful decorations. We loved the Spanish-inspired wines of Verdad, but are also fans of the Lindquist brand. You can taste from a wide variety, including Albariño, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Rose, Viognier, Mourvedre, Marsanne, GSM, Graciano, and Carignan, and the tasting menu changes every week or two. It lools like they allow food from the restaurant next door in the outdoor area, so I can see returning for a snack and enjoying a bottle at the same time.“
“Had an awesome cocktail (Bees Knees) with their house made gin. The server also whipped up an excellent mocktail Piña Colada for my wife, who isn’t drinking and it was top notch. Paired with a spicy tinned sardine plate sitting in the sun on the patio and it was perfection.“
“The Pierfront Wine & Brew Bar is an absolute gem nestled in the heart of Avila Beach! From the moment I stepped in, I was enchanted by the cozy ambiance and breathtaking view of the pier. But what truly stole the show was their impeccable wine selection - a connoisseur's dream come true! The variety was astounding, catering to every palate with finesse. The staff's knowledge and passion for wine were evident in every recommendation they made. Their personalized service elevated the entire experience, making me feel like a valued guest rather than just a customer. The attention to detail and genuine care in ensuring I found the perfect wine for my taste was unparalleled. Each glass was a delightful journey through flavors and aromas, complemented by the stunning sunset view. The staff's expertise in pairing wine with the delectable cheese and charcuterie boards added another layer of sophistication to the evening. Pierfront Wine Bar isn't just a place for wine enthusiasts; it's a haven for anyone seeking an exquisite experience. I can't recommend this place enough - it's a must-visit for anyone in search of top-notch wines and exceptional service in Avila Beach!“
“Great spot. They have plenty of outdoor seating which is nice and super family and dog friendly. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was soo good. The poppyseed waffle omg so good. And bacon was delightful. We will definitely come back. Thank you everyone.“
“I had a great time at 15 degrees C in SLO. I met a friend there and we had a nice charcuterie board and some great sparking rose! The atmosphere is upscale but warm. They have many choices of wine available for taste and to buy by the bottle. I was shocked that we were the only ones there for 2 hours, I do realize it was a Thurs. at lunch time. I would love to return again in the evening, they have a cozy fireplace inside and some outdoor seating with fire pits as well.“
“Amazing atmosphere, and friendly staff. The chicken Parmesan was phenomenal. the tortelli De Zuca was good, but it was way too sweet it’s ravioli filled with a candied squash. But aside from that I truly enjoyed my visit and will return when I come back to the area.“
“I had the pleasure of getting lunch with my parents and my girlfriend here. The food is nothing short of delicious idyllic French cuisine.Between the 4 of us we had the French onion soup, the Niçoise salad, and two trio combos ( croque monsieur, salad and chowder)In short, the view is heavenly, the service is impeccable, and the food is fabulous.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s all one level. You shouldn’t have trouble. Getting the bathroom may be a bit more difficult, as it is around the corner and through a door with a bit of a lip.“
“We walked in when we were staying close by and saw they do a tasting that's $20 for six 1-oz pours. We had 2 whites and 4 reds from around the region and also farther north in Sonoma. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and it's a nice low key environment with a bottle shop. They also have beers available.“
