Also their vegan mushroom broth was so flavorful we took some home! “Super quick and delicious meal! My friend and I walked in on a Friday after early cocktails nearby and were immediately greeted & seated! We ordered the chicken dumplings, wagyu dumplings, chicken chow mein and stir fried string beans. The green beans were the star of the show! They were amazing. We also really enjoyed the chow mein. Next time I'd like to get a different type of dumpling, as the chicken dumplings were just okay.“
“The ambiance and service was very lovely. My children were offered coloring books with crayons and markers while we ordered and waited for our food. The bathroom is for a single user, but it's spacious, clean, and includes a diaper changer.“

“Using the TooGoodToGo app i decided to give Bamboo Asia a try sometime late last year. Using this app is a cool way to try different restaurants in your area, but the catch is that the food is a surprise so what I got was unbeknownst to me until I arrived.The first time I came I got a curry of some sort. The second time I got a beef kind of dish. It was good and there was a large portion given both times. Anyway, there is a lot to choose from had I gone here any other time just to order. The interior is cute with plenty of seating. I imagine this being a popular spot amongst those working in the area.“
“Great place for authentic Chinese cuisine in the heart of Oakland Chinatown! I especially love their twice cooked pork belly noodle soup and is highly recommended to go with their various varieties of dimsum accompaniments. My favorites are their slow-braised spareribs in blackbean sauce and tripe with chili toppings.“

“Ordered the GuiLin Noodles which is one of the only non-spicy options. The noodles were amazing and perfectly textured and the beef came right off the giant bone they gave. The taste was amazing and very tender. The soup was also really good but just a tad bit salty. The staff was very friendly as well. The only thing bad is that when I went to the back to use the restroom, I saw flies around the tub of noodles they had.“
“Kam Lok is a classic SF Chinatown basement style restaurant. I've eaten here in the past and didn't post a review. Tonight, I had the runny egg shrimp chow fun $12. This was delicious with ample wok flavor. This dish can be challenging to make because chow fun and egg are kind of plain. That gravy has to be good. Their menu is limited if you are ordering fried rice, noodles and etc. It is more family style dishes orientated with only one page for rice and noodles. Not on the menu is crispy Hong Kong style noodles, which I love. If you ask, they will make it for you. So, don't rely too much on the written menu. Service was excellent.“

“We really enjoyed the food, wouldn't eat it as a weekend treat but found it hearty and healthy. Things we would definitely order again:Spicy pork with rice: although the broccolini has some very tough stems and was not the most enjoyable, my partner felt it was tasty and nourishing. He ordered it with double pork but wouldn't double next time because the portion of meat is enough for a dinner. He liked the vinaigrette sauce, which is not spicy, both of us enjoyed it. He preferred pork to chicken. Chicken bowl: the chicken was generally tender although with some gristly pieces. It has a marinade that is quite sweet, and the meat is cut in long spearlike chunks that are much more than a mouthful, so eating it with a fork is awkward. I didn't like the sweetness of the peanut sauce and it had an unpleasant aftertaste for me, maybe the herbs? But overall would eat chicken bowl again.Tofu bowl:Great fried tofu with lovely taste and texture. I liked avocado as an addition in all the bowls. The citrusy sauce was pleasant although very tangy, not as good as the vinaigrette to my taste. I also tried the Nam Nam sauce, which tastes strongly of mayonnaise, has a little kick but not too spicy, and was great as a dressing on the greens. I left cucumber and pickled vegetables out of my bowl and regretted it because they are both really good, cucumber is in thin julienne strips and pickled vegetables were tasty (mostly carrot and radish I think). I also loved the added omelet. Things we might not order again:The garlic noodles were a little sweet, not that exciting or craveable and tasted a little too much of raw garlic (we got them without the furikake topping,maybe they are better with furikake)The house FreshRoll was nothing very special, we preferred the bowls (to be fair though, we ate it the next day so maybe it's good when first made!)All in all a solid choice for healthy dinners.“

“First, we ordered the Nam Khao, ginger scallion kidney, papaya salad, and chicken wings for appetizers. The papaya salad was a little on the sweet side for me. The Nam Khao was pretty good, ESPECIALLY when I ate it with the pickled chili peppers. The kidneys were good too. I ate that with a side of steamed rice. My son ate the chicken wings (about 6 wings per order), so I didn't get to try it. He liked them and wanted to order another set.Then we moved on to soup. I ordered the Chow Jou with thin egg noodles. I didn't know there was an option to have the broth on the side, but I wanted it all together. The broth was bland. I needed to add salt, soy sauce, and pepper. I'm not one to usually add anything to my soup broth. The stuff inside the soup was good: chicken breast, ground pork, pork kidney, fish cake, fish ball, and shrimp. The slices of fish cake were small and it only came with one fish ball cut in half. Overall, I thought the Chow Jou was a 3.5/5.My husband ordered the pineapple fried rice. I'm allergic to pineapple, so I couldn't try it. The presentation of it was nice though.“
“Friendly staff. Decently priced. Food was good. I think it could have a little more flavor but It was good. I'd eat there again. Also their hot chili oil is SO GOOD OMG! The egg rolls are $2.15 each and huge. Not my favorite too cinnamony for me but I know people like that taste. Payed about 18 dollars for my food. Worth a try and they open at 10am.“
“Whoa! They have fish maw soup! I'm not used to seeing these kinds of ingredients outside of Chinatowns. I was so happy! The salt and pepper tofu was perfect--crispy on the outside and blisteringly hot on the inside. It wasn't too salty, either. The green beans were crunchy and delicious. My kid couldn't get enough of the seafood and tofu soup, which had some of the wispy bits of egg like egg drop soup except, you know, not dyed yellow. Food was copious for the price. Looking forward to going back!Earlier, we had the pan fried noodles as a pick-up order and the person on the phone asked if we'd be eating it right away or if we'd be eating it later, so she'd pack it accordingly. We said we'd be eating it later so she put the sauce into a container separate from the pan fried noodles. This was thoughtful, since it ended up being perfectly crispy with the right amount of chewiness when we put it together later.I really appreciated all the bok choy in the noodles. I'm tired of places that put in a ton of waxy white cabbage and carrots as filler. The number of shrimp wasn't skimpy, and they were juicy and big, not those sad wee ones. “Came here with my bf to eat before shopping at 99 Ranch. We ordered egg rolls for the appetizer. I got the rare steak & tripe beef soup w/ shrimp. BOMB!! My bf got pork rice plate which he also finished. I was so hungry I didn't get any pics :( Price is good and the food is really good too. I would recommend to try it. We'll be back.“
