“I travel a lot and stop by local mom and pop coffee shops often to enjoy some caffeine of course and get work done while one the road. I stopped by this location passing through San Diego. What a pleasant surprise. Greeted by the owner Victoria and her wonderful personality and smile I ordered a delicious coffee of sorts along with one pastry, and one more to follow. The I was entertained by a gentlemen playing an accordion while the owner sang along with an amazing voice. This food, environment, drinks all 5 star. Must stop by and enjoy the experience. Cheers“
“Whether you are popping in for a glass of wine before shopping at Sepulveda next door or having dinner of their wonderful specials that change daily (check Instagram), you will enjoy your experience at Juan Jasper. Lots of lively conversations between the staff and patrons (while still being attentive), varied and upbeat music playing just loud enough in the background, and a direct view of the kitchen makes for a wonderful atmosphere. A small act of consideration and respect by a customer is rewarded by the generous proprietor. This is what service and dining should be. You can see why folks happily wait to get a seat at this local gem. Cannot recommend enough: great for lunch and dinner.“
“I went here cause of the large number of 5-star reviews on google maps this place has. I wasn’t disappointed. Very efficient service. Loved the ambience of the place. The breakfast croissant sandwich is a unique offering in the area and honestly it was so good.“
“Came here for the first time to celebrate a friend birthday. We had the bottomless bubbles, which was a great deal, and really enjoyed the three juices. we also acute espresso martini and our friends drink. They actually wrote happy birthday. I had chili and I thought it was delicious. The weight staff was very friendly and the ambience was very clean and prestige. I will definitely be back..“
“Nice to little cafe inside the TD America building. I got the French toast special with both sausage and bacon. And then my friend got the waffle special. Everything was excellent. Eggs were scrambled perfect, sausage was flavorful, bacon was meaty and flavorful, and the French toast and waffles were both very good. We will definitely be back.“
“Portuguese inspired coffee shop with a pleasant outdoor space. Their lattes are hit or half-hit, depends on who your barista is. Their tarts are amazing. And their vibe is excellent. The loaves of sourdough they sell are made by a local baker. I wanted to love it, partially bc I love the hype, partially bc it was like $15, but honestly it was just okay. Prager Bros is still light years ahead.... Still, the place is fun, good quality, and adds a lot to the neighborhood.“
“Came around 10 am and there was already a line out the door. It was also sprinkling so no outdoor seating was available. The line actually moved faster than I thought and we were able to put an order in at the front. The seating inside is quite small and limited. I ordered the breakfast burrito #5 with chorizo in it. The size of the burrito is pretty big and satisfied my appetite. The flour tortilla is thick and cooked well, and the chorizo, bell peppers, and eggs filled the burrito quite nicely. However, it was really hot and it sat inside my stomach hot as well. For the side of potatoes, they looked really good but they are not seasoned at all not even with salt or pepper so it didn't really have any flavor. Overall, the location of the cafe is nice and the burrito is good for the price you pay here.“
“My favorite ever croissants. I’ve brought my entire (non vegan) family here one by one and they are just as obsessed as me.We got a cake once too and it was amazing. And I’m not even a cake girly. Also don’t miss the lemon bar ?Dietary restrictions: Vegan“
“What a darling space. Truly marvelous on the inside.Came to catch up with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. The barista was enthusiastic about what was on offer and I appreciate a good recommendation! (I do wish they served their X-Factor drip, though. It is AMAZING. You are missing out if you don't grab a bag!)Much love to a shop that provides resources and community awareness. It is so important and makes the extra circling for parking worthwhile.“
“Probably my new fave Cafe in DT SD. The staff are so kind and personable. The Pastries are out of this world delicious. We tried their tiramisu, rose and prep macaron, and lemon cake?I forgot what they're called, but it was soooo good.I also really love their signature orange latte!!!The space itself from the outside looks small but it is bigger inside, the decor gives off very monochromatic, calming vibe I will def be coming back!!!Edit: I went back the 2nd time to try the basque cheesecake and omg it was so decadent, light and fluffy. I couldn't stop eating it. All of the desserts I've tried so far has HIT. And yes, I got the orange blossom latte again, decaf with oatmilk - it was 7pm when I went“
“First time customer here. I had a kale smoothie and a breakfast burrito. Both were delicious, fresh, and a good portion size. Price is noticeably more affordable than other breakfast spots. Service and vibes were great and I’ll definitely be back“
“This is one of the best spots in Southeast. Get plugged into the community while sipping some great drinks and enjoying some surprisingly quality food. It's worth going out of your way for if you're not in the neighborhood; but if you're already local, you're probably already here.Parking: Limited street parking, so you may need to walk a bit.“
“It's food you can't find anywhere else. The Francesinha Portugal is such a unique sandwich, and the Pennsylvania Dutch smoked sub melts in your mouth. The croque monsieur and croque madame sandwiches are out of this world. Outstanding service and location.I rank this place 5/5 on service, friendliness, quality of food and European flair ambiance.“
“The food is amazing, the whole atmosphere is amazing, and I really appreciate the small space they created! It's very cute and quirky. My coworker and I loved it so much that we let our server know we would be back the very next day for breakfast. She was very nice and even recommended a reservation online as they get pretty busy on the weekends. We both had croissants, I had the California & she had the egg. Everything was extremely fresh, including the fruit! Easily some of the sweetest fruit I've ever tasted. Not to mention, sunset cliffs is a few steps away. I do see that other reviews mention the prices. I am here to tell you that the prices are very reasonable and the quality is top tier. I'd pay a few more bucks for a good breakfast with fresh ingredients and great coffee any day over a basic breakfast that you get most other places! Great job Little Lion Cafe“
“Delicious brunch! We enjoyed the Somali Malawian which was absolutely delightful—cheesy, hearty, and spiced. We also had the duck and sweet potato hash that was topped with a super fresh salad. If you enjoy a savory dense bread, the Afghan sweet bread was a great end to our meal, as the citrus butter was to die for. Will definitely be going back!“
“Went there a few more times, and tried more food. Besides the Elmisa Toast, which is a must-have, the Healthier Riser is super yummy! The Elmisa Toast is even better than before as it's very crunchy! It's now my go-to cafe wherever I am around that area. Highly recommend this place!“
“I have always seen this place from the old town transit center. Excited to stop in today and was glad I did. Ordered two eggs, home fries and toast. Kept it simple. The food was great and the service was perfect. I don't use that term loosely as customer service has gone way down since covid at most places. Was pleasantly surprised how great the service was and the food was excellent. Good value too.“
“They serve some really cool coffee flavors here, good food options too and the outside area is really nice to sit and relax in.Vegetarian options: Good amountsDietary restrictions: YesParking: Not badKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Drift Cafe is a lovely spot with delicious food and drink options and excellent atmosphere! The cafe was packed on a Tuesday at 10am with locals and visitors alike. The staff is very attentive, the menu has various vegan and other diet-friendly options and the matcha latte was delightful. I live nearby and will definitely be back to try more of their menu and enjoy the vibes.Vegetarian options: Various vegetarian breakfast optionsDietary restrictions: various gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and meat menu optionsKid-friendliness: lots of tables with room for kids, menu options for kids too“
“Love the atmosphere and the large space this new cafe has to offer. Tons of seating, inside and out, for enjoying a coffee, drink, or snack. Very photographic, very instagramable.Food, sweets, and coffee are delicious here. Their almond milk latte is always on point. Their sweets are so yummy (the blueberry lemon muffin is my favorite). Other very good menu items:• Vegetarian wrap• Mission Beach breakfast bowl• Egg sandwich• Shakshuka• Quiche• White chocolate mochaZero complaints.Alternative milk for $1 extra:° Almond° Coconut° OatThe staff is on top of taking our plates and cups when we are finished. They quickly clean the table and area when a group leaves since there seems to be a quick turnover of guests coming and going.Walking or biking is always a good option in MB. Parking can be tricky, but there is a bike rack just outfront.“
“First time here and ordered two donuts and an americano. I like that the donuts are made to order and come out warm. Nice touch. You can customize a donut as well. I typically eat classic donuts, little to no frosting or add-ons. Copper doesn’t sell these type, like plain cake or powdered sugar classic options. Coffee was good, service friendly and near the ocean alway a plus.“
“Probably my 2nd or 3rd visit ever - been craving it and was washing clothes down the street. If the delicious smell of all the food doesn’t lure you in, you’re missing out. Such a simple menu, yet food is packed with flavor! Got the turkey chipotle and Mexican mocha. Great folks and atmosphere and adequate wait for the food. Love that they have space for local artists to showcase their work and a section for business cards. What a great way to build community while bringing rich flavors to the neighborhood.“
“Ahh lovesong. This reminds me of LA. The coffee shop is so cute inside, I love all the decor and design, very open concept with lots of natural light and plants. Just a really nice place to be in and to take friends to. I really enjoy the creativity and presentation of the drinks. Most drinks come with a floral decor. The menu has a lot of variety for coffee drinks. I also like how there's lots of drinks with savory elements that you would not typically associate with coffee drinks (think rosemary, thyme, salt, habanero pepper) as well as other sweet ingredients (maple syrup, coconut flakes, fig, banana). For food they have a few items in their fridge, like yogurts or chia bowls. I Wish they offered more food options or pastry options. Their pastry display is pretty small. But I get that the specialty here is the coffee. The service has been good. The times I've gone the orders take a while but that's because there's a huge line/wait. But when we get our drinks they taste great.“
“C-Level is a San Diego treasure. The menu is so yummy and the view is amazing. I had the "skirts on fire" salad and it's one of my favorites anywhere. My aunt had the ahi avocado stack and it looked delicious. Our server, Mindy, was friendly and attentive. .“
“We finished eating at Buona Forchetta and wanted to continue with drinks. Kindred was packed so we came to Harland. So glad we did. We got seated immediately, great drink options and great prices! It was too cold to sit outside but great if you have fur babies.“
“If your like me and grew up somewhere in New England with an amazing clam shack nearby where you lived then you probably also know you can't find whole belly clams anywhere out here. Except of course Pete's. Pete drives to the airport 3 times a week I'm told to pick up his shipment of fresh New England Maine lobster and seafood. His cooks have been taught well how to fry them to perfection. It's a true neighborhood restaurant with nice people, excellent service and a product that cannot be found anywhere else in San Diego. AMAZING! I have been going there for years. If you want to meet Pete you'll have to go for lunch. Seems like he's there every day. If it's dinner you'll be served by one of his people. All the same people I've seen for many years which is another sign of a good restaurant.“
“Came for a weekday lunch and had the B-appled panini which includes the pasta salad for $13. Prices are fair. Outdoor seating is picnic table style. The wait staff are fantastic! Came to ask if we needed the heater on, how the food was, and read my mind that I needed a to go box.I lost or dropped my valuable there and went to retrieve it the next day with everything in tact. Super appreciate the honesty and integrity of the staff and patrons here! Would love to come back for breakfast sometime.“
“This place is so cute- a bit of a hole in the wall with outdoor seating. It's aligned with the ambiance of PB. The spam musubi is just okay tbh, but my favorite thing to get is the Jr. Boy, which is sooooo good 5/5. The sausage and egg with rice is a delicious small savory thing to eat after having the french toast. The coconut syrup served with the french toast is amazing. I wish I was closer because I want to try out all the other food!“
“AWESOME! loved the food choices. All the food in the menu is served all day. Coffee/tea open bar is unique and very cool. Grab a menu and seat yourself - love it. Super fast service. The freshly squeezed orange juice is amazing - we have travelled the world and tasted freshly squeezed orange juice everywhere and this is top. Georgie was our waiter…super friendly. A++.“
“First time patron and it took a little time to find it. It's off the main street towards the back. There are multiple coffee places on this street and almost gave up. We finally found it and glad we kept found it. The customer service was great as was the coffees and pastries. I'm a no frills coffee person. Black straight up. My pastry was fantastic and delicious. Will definitely be returning next time I'm in the area.“
“This coffee shop was soooo pretty and the coffee and danishes were amazing! I loved all of the greenery and space to sit outside. We got the La Tereza brown sugar and cinnamon iced and a hot Love Letter brown sugar white mocha with a Lemon chamomile cruffin (croissant muffin). My hot brown sugar white mocha was perfectly balanced and flavorful and my fiancé really enjoyed his iced coffee. The cruffin was next level- super flaky, buttery, and filled with a delicious lemon cream. I highly recommend stopping by for a coffee and sweet treat.“
“I actually had no idea this was a vegan place, but it was a nice surprise since I usually have to worry about dairy content. I'd heard some say the hot chocolate was too mild, but I think differently: my iced chocolate was mild, but it's nice for the chocolate to not be overpowered by sugar. You can actually taste the dark chocolate, and the drink itself is light and pleasant, with nuance in the chocolate that deepens as you drink it. For me, almond milk was the winning base, but they also offer coconut milk and soy, among other choices. The ambience is very pleasant, it's a small place but charming. Friendly, fast customer service. I do think the pastry selection leaves much to be desired.. but the truffles looked delicious. Will try them next time for sure!“
“My favorite sandwich spot in San Diego. Maybe anywhere in the USA.Tucked away in an apartment complex, Al & Nelly have been in the deli business for over 40 years. And it makes sense when you eat their food: An intelligent mix of classic deli sandwiches, specials, and new favorites.Take for instance Al's Famous creation - a club sandwich piled high with meat, bacon, avocado, and slathered in a secret Italian dressing sauce. It's the pinnacle of sandwich comfort food, and a lifelong effort dialing in the perfect textures, flavors, bites, and portion. They also call back to their heritage with a Falafel Friday special - fresh, crisp falafel right out of the fryer slapped between fluffy pita, homemade pickles, and a tangy yogurt sauce. It always runs out before close.Al & Nelly are super kind, running a tight, clean, and efficient operation. The amount of food you get with these sandwiches at these prices makes this deli meat pound-for-pound one of the best spots in San Diego for your breakfast and lunch desires.“
“If you are a coffee lover, stop by Coffee Hub. This is the best cup of coffee I've had in San Diego so far. I had a vanilla latte and it was well-balanced, not overly sweet, and I could taste the floral and fruity notes of the coffee well. The tones of the coffee were supplemented by the milk and light syrup. The food was also good. My brother had a breakfast burrito and the salsa which came with it was subtly spicy and delightful. He also had a matcha latte. The matcha had a delicately toasted flavor. Overall, just wonderful drinks.“
“Good place for an expensive bite delicious bite. I love how the servers are accommodating in the beginning but forget about you after the food was delivered to the table. The place is small but cute. Only recommendation is for service to remain the same throughout the whole time.“
“Had brunch today at the broken yolk was served by Oddy. The staff was on it! Excellent service! The food was very good. Everything was on point! We had to sit outside because we had our four-legged family member and the heater didn't work, but they made up for it with wonderful service and food! I would recommend!!!! Service was exceptional Thank you!“
“Small little shop with an ice cream shop also. Finally tasted a Key Lime Pie, more a lime posset on a great crust. There were many families entering, a very popular place.Parking: Just be flexable, remember, there is pie, or ice cream, when you arrive.“
“IT'S PINKY'S!!! I like the location right on university ave. We found this place just driving by.The service was great, the atmosphere is chill, and the café is bomb! I got the Coconut Honey Latte and wifey got the Rose Honey Latte and lemme tell you, this is your average drinks!!! They were both so damn delicious combined with the chill service and atmosphere y'all got customers for life outta us!!!Keep doing it PINKY's!!!“
“Service was amazing, the food was excellent, and the little cafe was absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy, feels very homemade. Grab a cup of apple juice, too. Best I've had! They have indoor and outdoor seating.I'd find street parking because it's .75 cents an hour, and the lot across the street is $10/hr if I remember correctly.“
“This locally sourced eatery is a terrific place and no doubt a hidden gem in San Diego.I stopped in for breakfast and ordered the breakfast sandwich, which came with three cage free eggs, sharp white cheddar, arugula, a chipotle aioli, on toasted brioche buns. You can add Nueske bacon to the sandwich for an extra fee.I loved that they used a soft scramble for their egg preparation. They did a great job on the eggs. They were light and fluffy. The eggs were very tasty, and the thick cut bacon was very flavorful and had a good chew. I loved that they took the time to toast the brioche buns. The aioli was tasty, the arugula peppery, and the white cheddar had a touch of sharpness.I had a cortado with my breakfast, and it was great. They offer a quality Italian roast. The cafe offers inside and outside seating. They also have grown many of the herbs they use on the premise. They offer great customer service.“
“Cute, trendy coffee shop in South Park. Street parking only but I didn’t have trouble finding a spot at 2pm on a Wednesday. There’s indoor seating, a long table at the window where you can choose to sit inside or out, and a handful of outdoor seating that seat 2-3.My friend and I told the barista that it was our visit here and he gave us a rundown of what to try. He was very friendly and patient! There’s a big menu on the wall by the register and a small menu for their seasonal flavors.I got the Marigold Mocha Latte with almond milk— loved the shaved pistachios on top. They stopped serving food at 2pm so unfortunately, I didn’t get to try the bagels that I see raving reviews about! My first time here but won’t be my last. I’d love to come back and try out other coffee flavors and their food!“
“Coffee fact: While Brazil may grow the most coffee, Finland drinks the most coffee!A New Orleans Iced Coffee ($6.60, 2% Milk), an Iced Hibiscus Blood Orange drink ($4.00), two Lemon GF cookie ($4.50 ea.), and three Salted Chocolate Chunk Cookie ($4.00 ea.) were order. I was going to see my niece later that evening and she was going to be given a salted chocolate cookie and one of the lemon cookies but I'm a terrible aunt and really liked the salted chocolate cookie so I kept all three for myself. ;)They have a window area to see into the kitchen if you're interested in watching them make their baked goods. I will admit that the drinks weren't it though. The New Orleans Iced Coffee tasted watery and the Iced Hibiscus Blood Orange drink wasn't balanced with it leaning more towards hibiscus than blood orange. Oh well. You can tell this is a well-loved spot in the neighborhood. There was even an adorable dollface Persian kitten sitting in the patio that looked as pleased as can be being outside Lofty Coffee Cafe and Bakery. Stop in, grab a cuppa, and enjoy a leisurely stroll down Little Italy.“
“I‘m traveling through the U.S. and this was the very first coffee which didn‘t charged anything for alternative milk! I was gladly surprised about and the coffee was very tasty and the waitress very kind! Would highly recommend this place and there should be more café‘s like this who don‘t charge the non diary milk! I mean it‘s 2024!“
“Excellent breakfast!Huge portions, delicious, fresh. Yogurt bowl was delicious, acai bowl as well.K.I S.S. breakfast was huge and yummy, sure of roast potatoes was great. Coffee is fine. Smoothies are yummy. Had breakfast here twice, great each time. Not much of a wait. Recommend it!“
“This is one of our favorite spots in Little Italy. Everything from the quiche, sandwiches, croissants, muffins is delicious and fresh. The lattes never disappoint. The service is always excellent with friendly and helpful staff. Audrey is the owner and she always acknowledges us with a friendly welcome. I highly recommend this cafe.Dietary restrictions: Frost Me offers a ton of GF options and everything is delicious.“
“Lazy Eye is more than my favorite coffee spot, it’s a cherished part of my day, a place where quality and care are in every detail. Tucked away as a kiosk, it's the quality that pulls you in—the staff here are genuinely friendly, making everyone who visits feel welcomed. The pastries hit the spot every time and something for everyone (gluten free donuts!), and the homemade syrups offer something uniquely flavorful that you just can't find elsewhere. You’ll have to look at the menu or better yet go experience it to know what I mean. You can also bring your pup, the sweet owner makes sure they have treats too! It's the kind of place where the coffee is consistently good, and the service comes with a genuine smile. Great coffee, the best people, Lazy Eye nails it every time“
“The 5 star reviews are spot on! I was staying with a friend a few blocks away and decided to grab some coffee and pastries. Everything was delicious and Kim was extremely friendly. I was the only non-regular of the handful of customers currently there, and it was cool to see the relationships Kim has built with all her customers. Will definitely go again next time I'm in the area.“
“I was craving some yummy coffee and decided to try this place out. I got a large black salted caramel latte and the hubby got their new strawberry chai tea latte. Both were delicious and flavorful. The girl that took our order was very sweet and even made some suggestions for next time. The inside was full so there was no seating available. They also have some pastries available to go along with their hot drinks.“
“This place is wonderful. Quick service, delicious drinks, and yummy sweets. It also gives a very communal vibe - as a newcomer, I can tell folks come here often with how chatty folks are and the interactive relationship the owner has with them. I love the small community vibe. My favorite drink is the pandan latte. As someone that is absolutely in love with pandan and wishes more place had it, I was so excited to see this place does. And it's a perfect balance. Not too sweet or too light. My favorite treat here has to be the coconut almond cake. It's gluten free, decadent, and heaven in your mouth. The coconut taste is very strong, which I personally love. I ended up buying the whole set one day for a friend's event and it was a major hit with my GF friends.“
“Best breakfast of 2024. The duck and truffle omelette is definitely catapulted my cholesterol levels to the moon but it was worth it. It was greasy due to the truffle oil and eggs but absolutely delicious. The restaurant has indoor/outdoor seating. Music was on point and staff was energetic. A great spot for Sunday brunch“
