The broth was perfectly balanced with just a touch of sweetness that created the most savory umami flavor bomb. It’s a very rich broth that’s meaty in flavor but not overwhelming. There was so much tender beef shank in this bowl. I kept finding more and more. The noodles were perfectly soft yet chewy. Service was quick but still polite. I loved the miniature collection at the front door. My boyfriend’s pho was also a huge and satisfying portion full of tasty flavor. Can’t wait to come back!!“

“Amazing Banh Mi! Everything about it was amazing. I usually have trouble with the crispy portion but this bread had a thin crisp with a nice soft inner. When I went around 2pm they ran out of pork so I got a beef instead. No regrets because this is the best beef banh mi I've ever had. Very tender meat and well seasoned. I loved the amount of veggies packed in as well.

“I cannot say enough good things about Tin Vietnamese. Their pho has literally been getting me through my pregnancy. It always arrives incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and the pho gà is perfection every single time. Big, tender chunks of chicken breast, flavorful broth, and consistently fresh ingredients — they never miss.

I even order extra broth with ginger to sip in the mornings, and it’s the only time I don’t feel nauseous and get morning sickness with my pregnancy. That’s how comforting and high-quality it is. The chả giò is always fresh, crunchy, and delicious too!

My fiancé is now completely hooked as well (which is great because we order at least once a week!). This place has become a staple in our home, and they have never disappointed. Highly, highly recommend.“

Got there early, which wasn't a problem. Drank 2 beers at the bar while we waited. We actually ended up getting sat about 30 ahead of schedule 🤞🏽

Got seated upstairs, which was a first for us. For some reason the vibe is a lot more laid back up there I feel? Could just be me, not sure, but it was more my vibe for sure.

We ended up getting a couple items that the entire table shared. Shaken beef, wok egg noodles + shrimp, bowl of white rice, as well as the roasted crab.

“Came by looking for some good food after a day in GGP. Did not disappoint. Purchased chicken and pork banh mi, Loved the pickled veggies, meat, mayo, and cilantro used. The only complaint is with the texture of the bread, pretty stale to the point it scraped up the mouth. Interior is small, able to seat 5 to 10 people but better for takeout. Make sure to grab some Sriracha chile sauce. I would definitely come back again but may get a bowl instead of a sandwich.“

“I was still hungry when I left. Their #1 special beef pho, all meats $18.75 (M) felt more like a small. Their broth is clean tasting and is complex. There's no bean sprouts, Thai basil or hoisin sauce as it is northern style pho. This is my first time having julienned fresh ginger in pho. It prolly took them a lot work to slice them like that. While it didn't add anything to the taste of the pho, I can appreciate the effort. Not bad for San Francisco standards. I prefer going to SJ for some really good pho. Service was fine as I didn't have to wait for a table and the food came out quick. Tables were available at 1pm on a Sunday.“

“Just tried for the 1st time today and ordered takeout bbq pork banh mi sandwich and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Seems like a family owned mom&pop shop, super sweet friendly service. BBQ pork banh mi sandwich was excellent, perfectly toasted bread on the outside, soft on the inside (not hard and rough like other banh mi sandwiches that hurt the roof of your mouth), delicious BBQ pork flavor, stuffed with fresh yummy pickled veggies, flavors were spot on. “To start, this is only a takeout place. No sitting area here, although I saw chairs hanging upside down. Went on a weekday around 1 and there were 5 people before me waiting for their orders. The service was very fast. The menu is small with one veggie/vegan option and 5-6 meat options. Similar options available for sandwiches, salads and bowls.
I ordered Teriyaki Tofu Vegan Banh Mi. This was the only option in any variety. Sandwich was good. Tofu was juicy but with hints of oilyness. Had mixed feelings while eating it. Veggies were cruncy inside but was missing some kind of sauce in it. Overall, a good sandwich and can be tried once.“

I thought the place was small space but NOPE, I was wrong and their place is massive and spacious. I truly liked the setting. I wasn’t close to anyone to another table. Each table were spaced out perfectly. The vibe they gave me was comforting and friendly to vibe with friends.

I got the pho combo and thst shi was busssing!
Usually the beef balls won’t have that much taste but once I ate it I was wrong lol.

“This is my go to spot after ballet class. Duck banh mi is the best. Their baguette (which makes or breaks the meal imo) is much nicer than other spots like Bun Mee.

It’s a grab and go spot, and you can sit outside if the weather is nice.

Note: their butter chicken is literally buttered chicken, not the South Asian curry dish.“

#29 - Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup), built off a solid pho broth, but could have benefitted from more lemongrass, citrus, sweet.

On a recent morning visit, #21 - Pho Dac Biet (standard combination beef pho) unfortunately came lukewarm with over-cooked noodles.

Overall, solid Vietnamese in the TL worth a visit; I’m hoping the disappointing experience with morning pho was only a fluke and not the standard.“

“Cơm sườn and bánh tằm pleased this Vietnamese Southwesterner’s palate

Best cơm sườn (BBQ porkchop rice) I tried in this zipcode, and the only place that offers bánh tằm (cold rice noodles with coconut sauce) in the whole city AFAIK. Cơm sườn was truly cơm sườn, with two substantial nicely charred porkchops. The fish sauce was the thin, light, tangy one popular in the Southwest and not the thick, sweet, reduced kind often served in Saigon. Iykyk, I like both. Bánh tằm was surprisingly similar to what you can order in Vietnam. The sauce, despite being made from canned coconut cream, was still well balanced and tasty. They also the only place that has bi (shredded pork skin).
Oh there’s soda sữa hột gà (egg soda) a true Southern experience going extinct in its birthplace.

Didn’t care for their hủ tíu (pork and seafood noodle soup), though.“

“The Wagyu Pho is off the charts delicious. I've done takeout and delivery, and each component is packaged separately so the crisp veggies stay crisp and the broth stays warm. The meat is delivered raw but cooks itself in the yummy broth. Portions are large and make at least 2 meals. I've never eaten in the restaurant, but it's super cute and cozy. A true neighborhood gem and my current go-to obsession!“

We got the beef pho with steak and brisket. The broth had a nice flavor. The noddles were nicely cooked. There was plenty of noodles and meat in the bowl. I also got the thai tea, which was very yummy! I can see why there was some complaints online about the service as there was only one server, who was also taking online orders and helping out in the kitchen (not sure if he was cooking?). So he wasn’t that attentive but he was friendly when he did come to our table and our food came out very promptly for there being little staff. So don’t let the reviews foul you!
