“MONDAY FOOD REVIEW...PUESTO...6/17/24! After leaving California's Great America, we stopped for lunch at Puesto, a Mexican/American restaurant, located at 2752 Augustine Dr., in Santa Clara. This restaurant features Mexican dishes with an American flare infusion! I had their their Shrimp a la Plancha, which is Mexican shrimp, garlic butter, red onions, jalapeños, guajillo chile, avocado, and Tamarindo-chile sauce, and it comes with herb lime rice, black beans, and blue corn tortillas. This was absolutely fabulous!!! It wasn't your typical Mexican dish...the different ingredients they used to create this dish all blended together VERY well!!! If you are looking for a little something different to satisfy your Mexican food craving, and want some added flair, then this is THE restaurant to go to!!! I HIGHLY recommend it!!!! My rating: 10++++”

This place is a total vibe and the decor is so beautiful. How did I not know about this place sooner? The appetizers calamari and corn were remarkable, and souffle pancake was so tasty. Chefs kiss for the Prime Rib it was so tender and juicy. We recommend the grape Suja. Looking forward to coming back for brunch soon! Thank you Giwa for such wonderful service.”

“Such a cute Korean bakery in Santa Clara! They’re known for their salt bread, but they also have a great variety of other breads, pastries, cakes, and drinks. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious, and I especially loved the salt bread — perfectly buttery and savory with a great texture. The bakery itself is also cozy and a nice spot to stop by for a pastry and drink. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area!”

The only downside was the service and preparation time, which felt somewhat slow even though there were not many customers. Overall, it is a great place for delicious and creative desserts, but the service could be more efficient.”

I ate here with my family and we got the abalone big chicken plate, along with the big beef plate. Both come with hand pulled noodles. We also tried the cold black fungus mushroom entree. Everything was delicious, but a big plate meal is sized for two people. We didn't know this going in, so we had plenty left over. Service was also really good. If you're in the mood for halal asian cuisine, I highly recommend this restaurant.”

We worked through a starter each, mains, and a shared dessert at the end, with the staff quietly bringing out a little candle for the birthday in the middle of our group without us having to ask. That gesture absolutely made the evening for the person it was for. The pacing of the meal was textbook — never rushed, never forgotten — and we had plenty of time between courses to actually talk to each other. The bill at the end was very fair for the quality of the whole experience. The family has already agreed it's our new go-to for any kind of special occasion. Lovely place.”

“Not my first time here. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Bay Area, simply because food tastes so good and consistent in quality.
This time we had:

The food was amazing, as always. Everything tasted fresh and absolutely delicious! My favorite dish is Shanghai crab roe noodles, rich, creamy, and always packed with flavor. I also fell in love with the crab roe fried rice, even though it was my first time trying it. The Mongolian Wagyu beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The crab roe & pork soup dumplings arrived hot, comforting, and full of flavor as well.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, and the service is always a 10/10. Our dishes started arriving less than 5 minutes after we placed our order, which was impressive.
This continues to be my forever favorite restaurant at Westfield Valley Fair, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.”

I just ignored her and waited for my food and she wandered to the other side of room. Then I got my food and I could see and here her coming again aggressively, then she got close to me and I looked at her totally relaxed with no fear, so then she changed it up and politely asked If I could help her with some food and said she was having a really hard time lately. Long story somewhat short, I ended up buying her a meal plus a side eggroll and chocolate shake and told her to have a good day. She was very happy and appreciative. Seems a lot of homeless congrugate here but the service and food was ok.”

“I love onigiri, so I was very excited to stumble upon Onigilly. I had visions of warm, freshly hand-formed onigiri—similar to what you might find at Omusubi Gonbei—but unfortunately, this wasn’t quite that experience.
The onigiri here is clearly more of a fast-casual, streamlined version. The rice is machine-formed and pre-pressed into triangles, with the filling sandwiched inside before being wrapped in seaweed. So if you’re looking for that rustic, handmade feel, this probably isn’t the place.
That said, it’s difficult to mess up an onigiri. The rice was room temp, slightly mushed but did not take away from the the fillings which were flavorful, and the seaweed still had a nice crunch rather than becoming soggy. It may not be the most gourmet or homemade-style onigiri, but it definitely satisfies the craving—and the convenience is a plus.
Overall, I’d come back when I’m craving onigiri and want something quick and easy, just with the right expectations going in.”

Santung Fried Chicken Wing, the Eggplant Salt & Pepper, or the classic Tang Su Yuk that stays crispy even after soaking in sauce.
Finish with Jajang Noodle, glossy black bean richness and Jjampong, for the spicy seafood lover. .
I am convinced this is one of the best Chinese‑Korean in the Bay Area.

We ordered a third just in case and came back home with some that will turn into a delicious fried rice. The three servers were very warm and hospitable. We have a serious peanut allergy in the family and the server took it very seriously looking at all the ingredients and reporting back to us what may be contaminated vs not. This gave us a peace of mind and we are really well because of it! They work exceptionally hard and looking at the negative comments it seems those to be just an off day as it’s hard for me to believe it being other than fantastic. We came back to this restaurant after 16 years (it was a place my now husband and I loved before we got married and had kids). It felt upgraded but just the same! It was a great place to visit after our trip to Korea. I wish we took pictures, but we were too busy eating everything up!!”

Lmao. The BBQ skewers were great — the meat was cooked just right, tender and flavorful. The grilled oysters with garlic sauce were AMAZING. We liked them so much that we ordered a second round. And the black truffle fried rice is definitely a must-try if you haven’t had it before! Service was also really good. The waiters and manager were super nice and friendly. My kid accidentally spilled some food, and they came over right away to clean it up and made sure everyone was okay.

*corn soup: 2.5/5: sweet and bland. There was not salt at all. No amount of chilli powder, salt or soy sauce helped redeem this dish.
*chicken chow mein- 4/5- favorite dish on the table for all of us. Chicken was soft and didn’t have a funky smell or taste. Noodles felt fresh. Dish was greasy though.
*fried rice-3.5/5- came with mushrooms, eggs and some other veggies. Very nondescript and safe, felt more like a side dish rather than main.
*deep fried chicken in hot pepper sauce:3.5/5- I was expecting some fire in this dish but this was unfortunately on the sweeter side as well. The chicken had a very crispy coating per description.
*black bean noodles-3.5/5 after loving the version in Paiks noodle, it was difficult for me to like the version here. It was decent though, noodles seemed fresh and had a good bounce. But the sauce felt too soy saucy to me.”

The food was amazing, as always. Everything tasted fresh and absolutely delicious! My favorite dish is Shanghai crab roe noodles, rich, creamy, and always packed with flavor. I also fell in love with the crab roe fried rice, even though it was my first time trying it. The Mongolian Wagyu beef was tender and perfectly seasoned. The crab roe & pork soup dumplings arrived hot, comforting, and full of flavor as well.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, and the service is always a 10/10. Our dishes started arriving less than 5 minutes after we placed our order, which was impressive.
This continues to be my forever favorite restaurant at Westfield Valley Fair, and I’ll definitely keep coming back.”
