“I’m a sucker for a solid rice bowl/plate. This spot did not disappoint! Got their spicy pork and enjoyed their generous portions. Delicious seasoning/sauce with Gochujang and other good stuff. The owners are very passionate and attentive. Will be coming back!“
“I finally had the opportunity to check out Restaurant Gish! I've had the place bookmarked for a while after reading one of my friend's reviews. Due to dietary preferences (i.e. I don't eat pork), I patiently waited for a menu that didn't appear to have pork as an ingredient. The restaurant was cozy and quaint, and it's kind of in an obscure location in a strip mall. I treated myself to dinner at Restaurant Gish and had an overall wonderful experience. I made reservations for 1 at the Chef's counter. What was cool was that the other guest at the counter was also treating herself for dinner and had never been to Restaurant Gish. The hospitality of the chefs were exceptional. They were all very pleasant and personable. In addition to sharing their inspiration and ingredients for each dish, they were fun just fun to chat with. Prior to serving the first dish, one of the chefs asked about my dietary preferences. I mentioned that I don't eat pork. He pointed out how one of the sauces had a sauce base, but he said they could modify the sauce without pork in order to comply with my preference. In fact, I learned that they modify ingredients all the time for guests. I don't have to wait so long for a menu without pork next time. Restaurant Gish offered a prix fixe menu. I opted for the wine pairings, which I thought went quite well with each dish. The last two wines paired with the entree and dessert were particularly outstanding. I enjoyed everything I ate, but I especially loved the lamb.“
“Great service and speed!! Food tasted great. Would definitely come again. Got the cold noodles and beef soup. The sides tasted great as well but a little spicy.I feel like it was a little more expensive than normal but I feel like all the Korean restaurants in the area have started to cost moreAlso there's a lot of parking compared to the other places in the area“
“I ordered takeout through Uber Eats from this place, so can't comment about the service and atmosphere of this place. I got the spicy dragon roll, gyoza and salmon teriyaki entree. The gyoza was standard and it was a slight let down because it wasn't warm, but that's completely on the Uber driver as he had to make a few deliveries on the way. The spicy dragon roll was disappointing, it wasn't spicy at all and the sushi roll's rice didn't appear spot on. The salmon teriyaki was standard and decent. However the miso soup was plain bad, too watery and lacking flavor.“
“The staff is friendly and responds tactfully to customers. Taste is okay. The restaurant is clean, so customers like it. Unless a new Chinese restaurant opens in this area, it will likely be exclusive for a long time. It's a shame that the sweet and sour pork doesn't have chewy meat.“
“A lady pushing a stroller who was waiting in line with me for the mall bathroom just asked me what this place sold, I said "it's grilled fish with ice cream." She was surprised and said, "Oh interesting!" I corrected myself and said it was "batter poured into metal fish molds." She thought that sounded delicious so together we went! It was my first time trying this location.Since all the Somi Somi locations I have been to only have take-out, I like this location because it is in a temperature-controlled mall. I prefer it to eating ice cream outside in freezing temperatures and even to eating outside in warm weather because everything melts so fast. You also have more open mall space to wait. This location is bright and clean. It had one flavor that the Cupertino location didn't currently have. My favorites are the cheese taiyaki and the red bean soft serve.“
“A good snack restaurant to taste Korean snack food. The generous service and delicious cooking skills of the friendly owner are additional features. The price is very reasonable and it is individually packaged so you can buy pre-cooked Korean food and eat it at home. The kimbap is excellent, and the signature bean noodles, which are only available in the summer, are also the best. This is the only Korean restaurant in San Jose where you can taste instant tteokbokki.“
“The star dish: black bean noodles. If a dish has me hooked on every bite, I can literally make space even on a full stomach. This dish was 'it's: savory, 'al dente' noodles. Well made and a simple dish. The Sweet and Sour Pork (Beijing Style). Is what the restaurant is well known for. The big difference with this dish is that there's no red coloring in the sauce. I like how they served the sauce on top of the pork. This prevented the meat from becoming soggy from being drenched in sauce. I was not too impressed with the garlic beef. My guess is that they used some sort of tenderizer, which threw off the texture of the meat. It was okay, but not impressive. I went on a Saturday afternoon, when the restaurant was crowded. Wait time was around 30 minutes. The restaurant is nice and clean.“
“Amazing food as always. Cool robots that bring out your food too! I love that it serves comfort food and alcohol at the same time rather than just bar food.Parking: Parking spots are tight if you have a big vehicle and usually crowded but people come and go very quickly so you can always find a spot opening up by circling around.“
“Pretty solid Korean food. The best thing they have in my opinion is the seafood pancake… it’s huge and crispy. The other dishes here are pretty expensive for what they are but I do really like the hot stone bibimbap. Service can be pretty nonexistent after they seat you i.e. would not expect a water refill or banchan refill :(“
“4.5 STARS Unpopular opinion: Ketchup on eggs is BOMB! The way the sweet acidity cuts through the richness of the eggs got me feeling some type of way. I grew up eating it this way and never thought it got so much hate until several months ago. Just look on Reddit. What can I say, I eat like a 5 year old! “Nice hole in the wall spot for a busy plaza. We came by for a late dinner around 8:30PM. No one was there when we ordered, but halfway through our meal, a few other folks had dined in.We ordered two tofu stews, one beef and one seafood. Good tofu stews. Sides were good and staff was friendly to refill.Parking can definitely be busy during peak hours.“
“Happened upon the restaurant when we were on the hunt for good Korean BBQ. The atmosphere is understated, but food and service was amazing. Truly! The beef was so tender and the banchan was A+. There were 3 very kind employees (owners?) who were so attentive and made it a very enjoyable experience.“
“Food is great, late night availability is even greater. It's nice to have a place to go to late in the evening, especially one with a nice atmosphere as this. I've got no complaints about the food, but the service is on the slower side. Both times I went I averaged about a 30 minute wait between sitting down and my food arriving. If you're not in a rush, then the food is worth the wait.“
“I ate the pork set (jeongjeongsal + pork belly + seasoned pork neck)! It said it was for 2-3 people, but it was enough to feed 4 people. I was impressed because it felt like I ate it in Korea... and the price isn't that expensive.ㅡIt was so delicious that I went again the next day, and this time they also grilled kimchi next to the pork belly... It was really good.“
“I have been here several times. It is Korean BBQ and regular traditional food. I like the steamed eggs, fried rice and the rice cake.Nice side dishes ,and delicious beef smll intestine .If you are finding a place to gather with your friend or family,it is a good place!Btw, Korean aunties were really nice, they always came to check us if we needed something and helped us grill the meat:)“
“Dined in at Roll House today and it does not disappoint! It's called roll house for a reason because their rolls we amazing! So fresh and perfectly seasoned. The rolls were also huge (as seen in the picture) and there were tons of options. We tried the half and half and did a split of the spicy pork and veggie roll. I liked the veggie roll better because the seasoning on the pork one made the pork not taste like pork? We also ordered the spicy cheese tteokbokki with dumplings and blood sausage, as well as the beef short rib with rice and vegetables on the sizzling plate. The ribs were sooooo tender and flavourfull, but had a little too much cartilage on them. Portions here are huge but makes sense considering the price. Will definitely be back to try more rolls!“
“Nice small Korean takeout spot. It's never crowded when I go and they get the food out really fast. Place as limited seating and parking. The plaza is really popular. The food taste good with decent portions. It's in the cheaper side too. As a college student I like to go here. There's also a lot of desert places and a cafe near by too. It's p lowkey I don't know many people that go here and it's not busy.“
“Chicken ginseng soup was exactly what I was looking for on a cold day. Portion is enough for 2 people. A whole spring chicken with stuffed sticky rice. Chicken slightly on the dry side. The side portion of clear noodles was chewy. The menu is pretty small, specializing in chicken soup. Not too ideal for vegetarians.“

“This is my new favorite Korean place after my first lunch visit. Parking is not difficult inside a plaza. The odd green and white banner sign makes it easy to spot. Once inside, the decoration is comfortable with Korean elements but not overly exaggerated or extravagant. It feels earthy, down-to-earth, and calm. The menu has a broad range of Korean food, and Sot Bap is the first time I have seen it in the Bay Area! It's kind of like Chinese clay pot rice, but it's cooked differently with different cooking devices. We were served hot tea, and our waitress was courteous, making eye contact and smiling. We were not rushed at the end of the meal and stayed chatting even after we finished eating. The 6 banchan we had were tofu and soybean sprouts, kimchi, broccolini with sesame seeds, pickled radish, macaroni pasta with corn and ham salad, and a spicy-looking bean paste. I like that the selection was evenly split between spicy and non-spicy options. I do hope the Banchan replacement is more frequent (we did not get any). We ordered Seafood Pancake and brisket Sot Bap. The seafood pancake is not as doughy or thick as what I used to see, but it is flavorful, not greasy, and the dipping sauce gave it a flavor up-pick without going spicy. It's good. The brisket sot bap came with a seaweed soup that is flavorful with some peppery kicks, a hot metal container with rice at the bottom, and all ingredients on the top (pickled yellow-reddish, dried dates slices, thin brisket slices. I was hoping the briskets would be in thicker cuts; however, they are very soft and mixed well with the rice. They also give you a sauce, which is sesame oil and soy sauce, and ask you to mix it in the rice bit by bit. Unlike the Chinese clay pot rice, this metal pot is super deep! I had to really dig and stir to mix it well, and I was a bit worried that there was not enough sauce to go with the rice. Luckily, the rice tasted with flavors (not sure if it was preseasoned or from the limited sauce). The dish was delicious to an Asian stomach, and by the time we dug to the bottom of the rice, a nice layer of crisp had formed, just like the Chinese clay pot rice. I wish they throw in an egg for this kind of dish, which they do, but with $2 extra. At the end, they gave out a small Korean cookie to complete the meal. The cookie is a bit sticky and not my liking. I would happily take the Yakult. In all considerations, my first visit was almost flawless and I am already planning a second visit with my family.“
“I think Chungdam is one of the best Korean restaurants in the Bay Area. Understandably its price reflects that ranking.I think its decor is the best. It feels very much like a high priced Korean restaurant. In terms of food, I think only 10 Butchers has better Korean food. But it has more variety, especially vegetarian dishes.Service is good. The BBQ meat is all grilled for you as one would expect when you're paying prices like $85 for kalbi.“
“When I say this, i mean it. This is the best poacha in all of northern California. The service is so kind and the food is top quality. Everyone should try this place and continue eating here. Thank you to all the kind workers and serving high quality food!“
“Food quantity ok but quality not worth the price.Long version: Ordered a combo of brisket, pork and tenderloin. Definitely enough food for 2. Around $50 per person. The meat quality is a little subpar.TBH I prefer 10 butcher, which only cost $20 more per person, but provides much, much better quality beef.“
“Place your order at the counter, pick up meal when number is called and return tray to dirty dish station when done.Good portions to fill your belly. Prices are fair. There is no "full service" unless you ask for assistance. Dress warm as this food court is located in the grocery store. Temp is always on the chilly side.“
“I recently dined at Chimek and was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with authentic Korean flavors. Soy Garlic chicken turned out to be the best dish of the meal. TTEOKBOKKI and the kimchi had just the right balance of spice and tanginess. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a delightful dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance added to the perfect late night vibes of the restaurant. I can't wait to visit again and explore more of their menu!“
“Excellent meat quality and variety of side dishes that will satisfy all different tastes in food. Magical hole in the wall kinda place. But be sure to make a reservation as it gets full very quickly. One of my favorite places in the south bay.“
“Delicious food! The best Karen restaurant I highly recommend! I like their side dishes, and they are very tasty! And you can ask for more without additional fees. The waitress kept forgetting our requests for more side dishes, but overall the services are good here. I ordered Bibimbap but it’s cold! You need to order the one with the stone bowl if you prefer hot foods.“
“I got the strawberry new york cheesecake with extra mochi on the side. If you don't like soybean powder I wouldn't recommend the mochi. The cheese cake itself was pretty cold/hard but as time passes and the longer you savor the cheesecake it becomes decadent. I loved the amount of fresh strawberries and there was a satisfying amount of condensed milk within the shaved ice as well. If you have a sweet tooth I would recommend getting extra condensed milk!“
“(Translated by Google) Overall, everything is okay, especially the tray jjajang and jjambbong are very delicious. The fry kitchen closes at 6:20 PM.(Original)전반적으로 다 괜찮고 특히 쟁반짜장, 짬뽕 아주 맛있습니다. 오후 6:20부터 튀김류 주방 마감입니다.“
“This is my favorite Korean fried chicken spot in the Bay Area. The chicken is absolutely delicious and is super crunchy.I love the salad bar too. Not too many options but I love everything that they have. You can go up as many times as you like and get more salad and rice. The service is great too cause the folks working there are super nice. Please be patient with the staff though cause usually it's just one person that is directly helping customers. The one issue I had was the parking, but obviously that's not the restaurant's fault. We tried going on a Friday night but the parking lot was so packed. Plus the aisles were very narrow so we were stuck waiting to get out when two oncoming cars couldn't get past one another. We ended up leaving and coming back for lunch the next day and the parking was much better. Basically, I recommend going when it's not too busy.“
“This would be my go-to spot for korean kfc if it wasn't so far from me. They have both wings style and also whole chicken. I prefer wings and yang nyum sauce but their original chicken is also very good. Soju and beer are served and the owner Peter and his staff tend very well to customers. Radishes cost extra, their chicken to-go still tastes divine and hits the spot for those cravings. Their tteokboki and sausage on sticks are delicious and tteokboki are crisp and served on skewers. Highly recommend!“
“Deep-fried dumplingGrillled pork bellySeafood scallion pancakeOur waitress was really nice! She showed us how to eat pork belly with lettuce and actually stuck it in our mouth for us Standard family style restaurant. Lots of food options and very authentic We had dinner here a few times with our friends, sadly with them moved out of Cali I haven't been in a while. Cheers“
“Hidden gem in Santa Clara. One of my favorite Korean BBQ places in the South Bay. Fast and efficient service, coupled with good quality meats (beef, pork, chicken, seafood) makes it a great experience every time. Can get smokey, though, so don’t wear your favorite outfit if you don’t want the smokey smell. Parking lot can get full, but there’s free street parking as well.“
“The Westfield mall location has an outdoor Koja Bar on the outside, which is a cool new feature that they have.As a chain that started from a food truck, I love eating their Koja, crispy rice buns with well-seasoned and flavored meat inside. One can order online, at the kiosk, or at a cashier, and their food is prepared quickly. The one downside is the use of plastic forks, but the rest of it arrives in compostable containers. The staff are really friendly and efficient!“
“Kind staff, great food!Ssamjang and ssam(vegies) come as a default whereas you have to ask for them at some other korean bbq restaurants. It’s a bit pricey but the meat was tasty! Hansung galbi was very tender and delicious but ssaeng-galbi was a bit chewy.Cheese tteokbokki has a healthy taste(?) , no strong MSG style. And the cheese was sooo good!Staffs are so friendly but the pace of grilling was so fast that I had to eat in a rush somehow.Overall I ll def recommend Hansung BBQ to my friends!“
“Cioppino, LA Galbi & Seafood pancake are amazing! We enjoy the food and service from the owner every time.We appreciate the busy yet smiling owner. We can tell the restaurant is short-staffed, but the food quality still doesn’t disappoint us.“
“It's been renewed and opened. The name has changed. I've never been there before, so I can't compare the taste, but I enjoyed it very much. I ordered bossam, sundae soup, and mixed soup. I ordered everything like this... I cleared everything except a little bit of bossam~!!It's been a while since I had really delicious Korean food.ㆍThe amount of mixed fish soup looks small because I took a picture while eating it, but we shared it with a family of 4.Enough amount~Good good!!“
“Pros: - Food is excellent here! A large variety of Chinese-Korean fusion type food at a very reasonable price. Would recommend the chicken wings and the Jjajangmyeon (aka black bean noodles) here. Very very good with tons of flavor. - Can accommodate a large group of people. Don't expect to be a quiet environment as it could be pretty loud! - Service was great, waitress was very attentive and accommodating. They save bottles for you if you do not finish in one sitting by putting your name on it and they will store it for you Cons: - Parking can be limited in the plaza so be aware - Bathrooms are not very clean, so plan accordingly especially with kids Overall - This place is excellent especially going with a group of friends or with family who want a variety of food. Definitely would retrun!“
“We ordered the army stew and fish cakes, two dishes made with cheap ingredients that I usually elect to cook at home because it just doesn't seem worth it to order at a restaurant, especially when sometimes they don't end up tasting that much better, if at all. However, I wouldn't mind paying for it here because they put it together well and it is convenient not to cook. The fried stuff we tried, gimmari and the seafood pancake were bland and had way too much batter. There was only one poor guy working the front but he really tried. The atomsphere is loud, dark, and we couldn't find him half the time. There are also black curtains around some tables and cardboard cutouts for kpop idols endorsing soju.“
“We visited Beque Korean Grill in Korea Town, Santa Clara. It's an all-you-can-eat BBQ place we really enjoy. The food was alright. The meat quality was good, and it came with the usual Korean side dishes, all at a reasonable price. The atmosphere was very traditional.“
“I have been here many times over the years and it hasn't gone too downhill. Yes, the quality has taken a hit and the prices have gone through a steep increase, but it is still reasonable compared to the other soju bars in Santa Clara's Ktown. They have a nice selection of alcohol and offer soju in fresh fruits. I am partial to their coconut soju served in a coconut ? and the pineapple soju?.They have some basic side dishes on hand because who can go without kimchi for some of these dishes? but you have to ask for it. You may also want rice even though it could taste old but you're too drunk to care.I like their seaweed rolls with vermicelli because they fry it like spring rolls which is quite different from other places. I also recommend the spicy chicken with cheese and the seafood pancake. The kimchi fried rice is decent with the perfectly cooked egg but not the best. I don't recommend the army stew. It's hard to rate the service because it's not consistent. I do really appreciate the hours though, open until 2am everyday. It's popular enough that sometimes I have to wait for a table on a late night weekday. There are only a few spots in front of the store. The other spots are usually for the other stores unless they are closed. However, there is parking around the corner and in the back.“
“Amazing experience!•This marks the fourth time I have been here since their opening and they have yet to disappoint. I love their small combo and I always get their seafood pancake.•Service was perfect. We had Dane as our server this time and he was great. The meat was well cooked and he was always attentive with our needs.•The restaurant itself is big but it can get quite busy, especially the weekends. However, there are reservations but I came in thirty minutes early prior to when I wanted to eat for the waitlist instead. Other than that, the vibes are nice and everything is well decorated!“
“EMA Karaoke & Bar in San Jose is a vibrant spot for a night out, offering both an open bar area and individual rooms for rent. The karaoke experience here is a blast, with a diverse selection of songs to choose from. However, if you're expecting gourmet cuisine, you may find the food to be just average. As the night progresses, the bar tends to get crowded after 9 pm, so it's best to arrive early to secure your spot. Despite the crowds, the energy is infectious, adding to the overall excitement.“
