“There was delicious sashimi rice bowl and soba. The soba soup was a little salty, but it had a Japanese taste. The sashimi was also good. There are Koreans and Japanese. A restaurant with a high reputation. However, if you are a solo traveler, you may need to be a little careful as there are few seats for one person.I originally went to eat Japanese curry, but note that this is only available for lunch...“
“I have been here many times over the years and it hasn't gone too downhill. Yes, the quality has taken a hit and the prices have gone through a steep increase, but it is still reasonable compared to the other soju bars in Santa Clara's Ktown. They have a nice selection of alcohol and offer soju in fresh fruits. I am partial to their coconut soju served in a coconut ? and the pineapple soju?.They have some basic side dishes on hand because who can go without kimchi for some of these dishes? but you have to ask for it. You may also want rice even though it could taste old but you're too drunk to care.I like their seaweed rolls with vermicelli because they fry it like spring rolls which is quite different from other places. I also recommend the spicy chicken with cheese and the seafood pancake. The kimchi fried rice is decent with the perfectly cooked egg but not the best. I don't recommend the army stew. It's hard to rate the service because it's not consistent. I do really appreciate the hours though, open until 2am everyday. It's popular enough that sometimes I have to wait for a table on a late night weekday. There are only a few spots in front of the store. The other spots are usually for the other stores unless they are closed. However, there is parking around the corner and in the back.“
“Exquisitely exceptional. Denise and her team have carefully curated a wonderfully enchanting Parisian experience from the ambiance to the decor--snacks & caviar..a truly uplifting experience that Los Gatos desperately needed. Well done, can't wait to be back.“
“What a cute little spot in downtown! Stopped here for a girls night catch up and they had the perfect little room with a couch and fire for an intimate vibe. The ambiance is so perfect and cozy for a more relaxed night out. The bartenders were so nice and helpful when ordering. The food was pretty straight to the point but yummy so I can't complain. The viognier was crisp but I definitely enjoyed the Bella Montagna Sav Blanc more. I would definitely come back here for a date night!“
“This is probably the most authentic tapas place you can find in the bay area.Their cold items are exceptional. So are the rest of the warm tapas items. They have only 1 dessert menu and they have perfected it.We got two anchovi plates, pulpo, oyster mushroom, goat cheese, chorizo omlette and bacon wrapped dates. Everything is absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. You can tell they care about the food they serve you. They prepare the food as the order comes in and the wait is well worth.“
“OMGoodness !!! Inspired chef in this restaurant. Im naking an adventure dinner stop here for celebrating the Resurrection, first time. Thai seasoned prawns from Australian waters, still in the shell. Smoked salmon-stuffed, bite-size, trout roe-topped mini muffins. Chocolate peanut butter layers with black and white sesame seeds! New flavors for a "new creation" day, with gratitude.“
“Been here a million times and took a million photos, yet this is the first time I’ve done a review. It’s pretty short and simple…..this place servers good vibes, tasty dranks and yummy snacks. Not sure if things have changed since the establishment opened, but they don’t serve hot foods as they don’t have a full kitchen. All their snacks are really good though (deviled eggs, spiced nuts). The drinks are REALLY good, like the best cocktail spot in town.We came on a Wednesday at 8pm and it was pretty groovin. I would def make a reservation for a Friday or Saturday. I’ve tried walking in with just two peeps and they are almost always full. They do have a big patio but even then, it’s so packed.Brian is the only face I recognize. Didn’t see Jacob. Both are friendly and knowledgeable about the drinks. I always go with their recommendation, and it never fails.Parking is easy. They have a standalone lot they share with a restaurant and other smaller nearby businesses, but there’s also a lot of street parking. Better yet, just Uber bc you will have at least three cocktails before you leave.“
“shing and a little tart! I also got the crispy plantain taco which was amazing! As someone who just came back from Panama this was on par with the plantains out there! The crispness and saltiness from the taco paired with the sweetness of the cranberries and plantain was just perfect! The only problem was that it was a little bit dry so if there was a sauce to go with it?! The elote were really cool with an amazing shape almost curled up like ribs! They were tasty and had crema and tajin on them! However for their price I would have wanted a little more! I also got the churrasco steak! The steak itself was well cooked and flavorful with a little bit of tomato sauce! The charred vegetables were also amazing! Overall it was really an authentic dish with even the rice being unique with a completely different taste than normal! However I also wished they had some kind of sauce to go with the dish which would have made it just supreme! We ended off with a churro which was warm and gooey with a vanilla center which I loved! Overall the food here is authentic and unique, but it is on the pricier end. However for the amazing service and ambiance paired with the good food I would definitely give this place a try!“
“Great atmosphere for a date night! We ordered the salmon tartare, rose tteokbokki, and kfc cauliflower for appetizers. All of them were great but I was most impressed by the tteokbokki! We followed with the short ribs and the basque cheesecake dessert. They were good but the appetizers were more impressive. I was also disappointed that they no longer did the sweet potato chiffon cake :(“
“Authentic Japanese izakaya with a wide selection of delicious Japanese food, everything from ramen and sashimi to curry and bentos. Lots of great side dishes too, I personally enjoy the natto, sushi to pepper and tsukemono. They also have plenty of Japanese beers and sake. Open pretty late too (11pm) for when you get a late night craving for Japanese food.“
“Excellent for happy hour - food items at half off, and they taste pretty good. Wine choices are underwhelming but a good deal for members (20-30% off list price). Tasting event was busy but wines were meh. This location is a bit small, so it feels crowded and noisy. Even tables were so small that there wasn’t enough room for the food! No patio seating as Castro is blocked off - in fact, the neighborhood vibe has seriously degraded. The Los Gatos location is much more attractive and spacious (outdoor seating).“
“The server (owner?) was very sweet and gave us excellent service, which is nice because the last few times we went out to different ramen places my bf and I have been ignored. I got the creamy veggie ramen and my bf got the jigoku ramen. My broth was really rich and the noodles were delicious. The extremely spicy ramen was definitely tolerable and I don't typically do well with spicy! We were really happy with our food and will be back again :)“
“Goodtime bar is all the things an establishment should be. Knowledgeable staff, amazing selection and everything is served with a real sense of pride and love. The small bites and charcuterie is next level perfection, the owner and staff love what they do and greet you with a smile.“
“I stopped in here a week ago with friends for a glass of wine and some small bites before dinner. The staff was really friendly and we received great service! There were only two ladies working and the place was packed but they were able to still manage the crowd and you weren't left feeling forgotten. The food was really good and you get a lot, so much that we didn't need dinner after having the charcuterie board they prepared and we also had the pretzel knots which were delicious with the mustard sauce. They have a good selection of wine and beer. We will definitely go back to sample the other items they have to offer. It's a cute place downtown Willow Glen!!“
“You are walking around the neighborhood, catching the San Jose sunset and you come across a bar. Your friendly neighborhood bar.You walk in, greeted by friendly servers, eager to seat you. Instantly you feel welcomed and warm inside. You walk over to your seat, looking around, captivated by rustic vibes. The music, loud enough to appreciate and low enough to engage in friendly conversation. Glancing down at your menu, you see a variety of finger foods and drinks. You decide to enjoy a Margarita pizza. A yummy vegetarian option, covered in a sweet balsamic glaze. Your server comes to check in on you, they are full of smiles and service.Something about this bar gives you that safe, comfortable feeling, a place where you can watch a game or two, go on a date, read a book, make new friends and socialize. I 10/10 recommend this spot. They have events from time to time, live music, a variety of get togethers. Come alone or grab a group of friends. I’ve been here so many times in 2023, it’s became one of my frequent spot.“
“Stumbled upon and had lunch at this little gem in Los Gatos. The crew and chef listened to my food mood and suggested and prepared a delicious and beautiful artichoke, caper flatbread, paired with the pickle plate! OMG super yummy!!Their complimentary olive oil and vinegar tasting room and wine bar, where they made me a sparkly virgin cocktail, is all about friendly, cozy, good vibes.Very chill and comfortable and I hear they also host private parties! I will definitely be back to sit out back! Oh yeah, and they’re also remote-work friendly, offering WiFi!Taking home a couple bottles, some guava jam and a full and happy belly!! Winning!!!“
“You can easily book a table online or just give the restaurant a call. Our group of four made a seamless entrance on time thanks to the reservation. They've got a diverse menu with nearly everything covered. The'Unagi Omelette 鰻魚玉子燒,' 'Yamaimo Sengiri 山藥紫蘇', and the 'Mentaiko Pasta 明太子麵' are my favorite. The beef tongue and clam soup were also delicious. If you're into Japanese food with a local casual dining feel, this place comes highly recommended! Plus, they have private booths for a more intimate family or friend gathering.“
“Expected dishes to be more expensive.Rice balls and fusion pizza were very crispy, rice balls had strong butter flavor, if you like that this is very good, 2 for $11.Cold udon was chewy, $20.Pizza was thin and crispy, strong ham taste with noticeable crab flavor. Not sure if that flavor combo works for me.Yellowtail carpaccio wasn't cold enough, fish was nice enough, but best part was the slightly sour sauce. Not worth its price imo.Daikin salad $11 refreshing, although a bit too salty.“
“Love this place. The indoor seating is closed but The Cider Junction has since built out a patio area that my husband and I really enjoyed. The staff is always so knowledgeable about their menu and very friendly. We will be back again real soon! Very very nice cider selection.“
“All the food I tasted was deli and no, it's not all pictured here. FYI, this is not a "Mexican" restaurant, it's Peruvian. All delicious but don't expect Mexican staples. The service was friendly and quick. Only thing is, they didn't ask how we wanted our check and they brought it all together and it was as always, a pain in the ass to split. Ambiance is nice, private, quiet and comfortable. Not being from here, we are reeling from the costs and taxes but oh well.“
“OCK has the same owner as BeSteakA. And truly I tell you you will NOT find better food in all of California let alone the USA that compares to or is better than OCK. It’s the absolute best lunch you’ll ever have. I seriously can not speak anymore highly of them or refer them to more people. My family can’t get me to shut up about this place or Be.Steak.A.“
“I went to this restaurant Saturday night around 6pm without reservations. It was full even bar counter. Recommend to book on weekend. I really liked the sausage! Beef tongue was tender! Shrimp flitters taste very shrimpy so it was ok for me. All dish has a lot of flavor and everything is good with wines!“
“Came here on a rainy Saturday evening for dinner. There were quite a few patrons, but no wait since there were open tables. The “prefer English” option for the QR menu was nicely done. Everything was translated (as opposed to Taiwan Bistro’s QR system where all the menu items are still in Chinese and only the in-app functions like “order now” are in English). We would skip the woodear mushrooms next time; these were a little too spicy, sharp and tangy for our liking. I got the clear beef noodle with rice noodle, which was tasty. The highlight was the pan fried soup bun. Lots of soup and a lovely crusty bottom! We would come here again!“
“If you are looking for a bar with nice ambiance and less noise in the San Pedro then this is the place I would recommend. They have good beer selections and best appetizers. I tried the beef samplers and they are the best and I would rate 4/5. The spiced chicken wings are the best and we ordered two, they complemented with the beer in terms of taste. 5/5 for the wings. I would definitely go back to this place for the wings and excellent service.“
“If you hadn't come by to try their Japanese skews, then you must give it a try. No rsvp unless you have more than 5 people. I suggest to come here around 6pm because after 630 to 7, you may have to wait about an hr for a table. The place is quite small enough just like the ones in Japan. I ordered 85% of skew food on the menu. I almost tried it all. They grilled them with good timing, so the skews were too cooked and chewy. The ones that got my attention were pork belly, beef short rib, and the whole squid. These 3 you must try. The whole squid was perfectly grilled with just enough sauce to make it juciy. I have to say this place did a very good job on it compared to other places. I also ordered chicken breasts and thighs. They were nicely cooked. I suggest eating it with some light sauce. Very nice services. I would come back if I were in the hood. Keep up the good work!“
“Darla Cafe is one of the best Asian-Fusion brunch spots I’ve been to in the Bay Area. My favorite was Aina in SF if the OG foodies remember it. Darla may be my new favorite for Asian-fusion brunch.Their loco moco is a good find and one that I like outside of Hawaii. The matcha pancakes and French toast were made perfectly. Plating is impressive here. The drinks are solid— the yok lor coffee woke me up for the day. I can tell they took care and gave high attention to detail in crafting their menu and flavors here. The inside has a clean aesthetic look and there is outdoor patio seating perfect for the spring time. There is a family feel from the staff.Darla Cafe is near Hakone Gardens. Highly recommend a visit!Ordered:Loco Moco #1Darla’s French ToastRose berry lemonadeYok Lor coffeeMatcha pancakes“
“We looove this place so much for its delicious food, cozy atmosphere and great service. We ordered a catering from this restaurant for our son’s first birthday party and it was fantastic. Everyone liked how the food was packed and how it tasted. Everything has been delivered on time which is super important. Highly recommend this place for those who love Spanish food and a home-like environment.“
“The food was wonderful! Taylor (I believe that was his name) was the best server and knew so much about the wine list. He said he created the wine list and his recommendations were right on point. If you are in Los Gatos-, don’t pass this one up!“
“Aloft Sunnyvale on its own is good enough value for money spent. However, what truly stood out was the customer ser ice of its front desk. Shoutout to Michelle for helping me out a ton when I was trying to extend my stay. No excuses were made and she found a way to get it done even under difficult circumstances. Roy was also great with the room upgrade when he saw that I had brought a friend and might have needed a bigger bed. 10/10 Customer Service!“
“Went in for lunch around 1:30 and was glad Kaita was still open and taking guests. We were seated right away. The people who work here are so sweet and welcoming and friendly! I love that about Kaita. I usually stick tot he specials but I was in the mood for simple and basic. I got the beef teriyaki for the first time here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Cooked perfectly medium and the sauce was good texture, not too thick or thin. I thought Gombei had the best teriyaki but this visit to Kaita may have changed my mind- definitely tied at least. The salad and miso hit the spot and the service was awesome! This is true comfort food for me, with plain white rice- best lunch out, in a long time! Wife had the chicken teriyaki donburi and she enjoyed that as well. It was a very large portion and she took a lot home for later. We had one soda and loved the complimentary tea. Lunch for two was $35.71 before tip. Can't beat that price, the quality and deliciousness of the food, and the friendly and genuine sweet service made our day!“
“One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants you can find in South Bay at an affordable price. You won't see them California rolls or fried specialized sushi. I'd highly recommend trying premium kani chirashi, yikiniku don, and kakuni.“
“We took the whole extended family! The employees were so patient with all 11 kids as they continually changed their orders. Everything was fresh and delicious. The menu is so different from anything I’ve ever tried. We will definitely be repeat customers!“
“Lovely and so much fun! Friends and I came in for our bdays brunch. The service, food, drinks and the atmosphere were top tier! The group do what they can to make your day the best experience you can have! We had a fantastic time!! ??? chef’s kiss!“
“Stopped in for a glass of wine and a quick bite yesterday. The service was fantastic and everyone was really friendly and very informative about the wines they serve. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms and trio of bruschetta. Everything was really good! They have bands that play couple nights a week so it can be a bit loud inside but it's a festive environment. They are more on the pricey side with glasses of wine costing anywhere from 22.00 to 50.00! It might be better to just a bottle at that price!“
“There is already a location like this in Fremont, but that's inside the 99 Ranch Store. So, I won't be able to review the atmosphere here and decided to go to the one at Milpitas since it has its own place. It wasn't really crowded here, but I do like how the place is clean and built. Nice wall decorations I'm seeing. Also, the fountain machine is out of service. I didn't order a drink here, and so idk how they sell drinks atmI came here, because they mainly sell Japanese Bowls, which is very uncommon. I wanted to try out Japanese curries since they are widely shown in anime shows lolJapanese curry actually tastes good! Really worth my time coming here and I will come back to try out more stuff (or in Fremont haha)“
“We went in for a late lunch on Saturday. We weren't sure if this was more of a drinking place or restaurant.I had the chicken bowl and my wife had the chicken plate. We are split on our opinions of this place. I liked the food, but she felt it was too "fusion" and not authentic. The one thing we did agree upon was about the fact there's no paper menu. You have to order with your smartphone aged scanning a QR code. We love tech, but this was poorly implemented. It gets confused if two people look at the menu simultaneously on their own phones. Somehow, it lost our order and we had to wait much longer to get our food. Service was generally slow. But the prices were very reasonable for the quantity of food. The atmosphere is young and trendy. Walls are covered in kpop idols, giving it a gen-z vibe. We felt a little out of place.“
