“Always great staff and the best port ever... Oh, and the regular wine is good too, I'm just a high fan of Port, and I've had plenty, but the best is here. There are so many varieties to choose from. There is a port for any palate.“

“This restaurant is a tiny, cozy bistro serving up authentic Italian cuisine. The owner/chef hails from Italy. The bistro is set back from Main Street down a pedestrian walk way. I dined here a couple of months ago. Since it was for a reserved dinner party. I got to taste a variety of dishes, family style. The regular menu is by single serving size entree, no family style servings. They offer gluten free pasta dishes. Most of the pasta dishes contain dairy. The table ordered lemon chicken and gnocchi in bolognese sauce for the lactose intolerant folks. The menu stated the lemon chicken was made with a white wine and olive oil based sauce. But the sauce looked and tasted creamy with no noticeable lemon flavor. The sauce tasted very similar to the potato gnocchi del norcino white cream sauce. The chicken was a bit difficult to cut through with the knife that was provided. The knife cut like a butter knife. Also instead of the gnocchi in bolognese, the dish came out as gnocchi del norcino with cream sauce. The cream sauce was rich and creamy, it was yummy. I gotta say, this place is tiny. The tables are set really close to each other in the main dining room and in the semi-private room. Tight squeeze. And when it's a full house, it gets loud in there.“

“This local restaurant is definitely a great choice. We went here for lunch on Saturday. Our group ordered the fukomaki and California roll, bento A And tonkatsu. The bento was teriyaki chicken, fried gyoza, and tempura. The futomaki was good and the California roll was well filled with real crab meat. The tonkatsu was a large piece of pork and well cooked and crispy. It also came with Some great tasting miso soup. The teriyaki chicken was well cooked and the sauce was ok. The gyoza was well seasoned and crisp the tempura was Crispy and not greasy. We enjoyed the food and will definitely make this our go to place while visiting pollock pines. Only got pictures of the sushi. The food was sooo good, I forgot to get pictures. Our server was nice and let us make some changes. The restaurant was clean and quaint.“

“WOW, what a cool place to discover for a lunch or early dinner. Pasties, international meals inside an incredible pastry puff - we tried the Irish, the Russian, the Italian, and the American. All were outstanding, tasty, filling, and delicious - worth a stop if you like fun new eats!“
“Greatly enjoyed our tasting at this winery. I am a sucker for Sangioviese so this was right in my wheelhouse! The wine ambassadors were knowledgeable and friendly! Ended up with a bottle of each tasted! Second time here and both visits were quite on-point. Bocce ball court was calling my name but we had another tasting scheduled within the hour! And who doesn't want a picture with the Doggie Diner "statue" in their courtyard! Keep up the good work, Vino Noceto!“

“Enjoyed a late lunch here on our drive back from Lake Tahoe to the Bay Area. Didn't get to try their Lobster Bisque since they were out (Friday ~2pm), but our daughter loved their clam chowder. The Baked Brie was so delicious - served with warm bread, dried fruit, grilled onions and truffles. It was gone within a few minutes! For our mains, the crab cake sliders were fine, nothing spectacular. But their Salmon Salad was a hit! The salmon was cooked just right, not too dry, with a lightly sweet, refreshing dressing. I wish I could bottle up the dressing and take it home! We'll definitely be coming back when we're in town again.“
“Visited this place yesterday while driving around the area and looking for wineries that were open during holiday Christmas week. Found this one and the place had some good wines. Good sparking wines as well and in a very quiet and nice atmosphere. The ambiance was nice and really quiet during the time we went so that was cool. The people were friendly and very welcoming and enjoyed this hospitality! Will definitely be back.“
“It just so happened I was interested in doing the Girl Scout pairing and I thought this was a different winery. I am glad I did ...we were told to have a seat and someone would be with us soon. I assumed it would take a while, but to my surprise a sweet girl name Migali I think that's her name ...greeted us right away with the pairings of Girl Scout cookies and wine she then explained every wine. A few moments later someone brought us some olive oil tasting with tiny bits of bread. They were sooooo good. I purchased the blackberry balsamic. Migali gave us a tour of the cave on the grounds where they have special dinners and events. It was a pretty good way to start our wine day!“

“Home cooking like my Grandma made..... the place is small but has.a true Hispanic charm ....right down to the salsa and chips. Portions are way large... and prices a great value.... Less than a thin in and out burger..... So glad they survived Covid closeting ..... We have had most things on the menu. I love Carne asada burritos.....my husband goes for chicken tacos and beef taco... please stop by.....small hole in the wall places like this are true gems... If you don't support them they will be gone !,,,, Fast also for take away . Cheers“
“Hubby and I were on our way to Tahoe for a romantic weekend vacation and realized we forgot to pack wine! Found Boeger Wines and found something special! The grounds are GORGEOUS!!! A lot of rich history! $15 for 6 heavy pours of their available, and if you have the right server you may get a bonus pour of their favorite! Only intended to buy one bottle of wine, but couldn't decide on which one we liked best...“

“Awesome food here. Ordered 2 piece cod and chips and received two big portions of fish, couldn't even begin to eat the fries. Took about 10 minutes to get our food, but well worth the wait for fresh fried cod. Absolutely the best fish in town.“
“I enjoyed our visit to the Rombauer Vineyards in the Sierra Foothills on this rainy day today. We were impressed by the whole experience. The grounds are beautiful, including vineyards rolling across gentle slopes with mountains framing the backdrop, with trees, flowers, and both covered and uncovered seating and tables surrounding the tasting room, creating an ambiance of rustic elegance and a place to shelter from the rain.We were warmly welcomed by the friendly and knowledgeable staff who were happy to answer our questions and suggest tasting of the varieties of wine they produce. As we tasted the selection, I found the wine to be excellent across the board.By the end of our visit to Rombauer Vineyards, I felt not only that I had tasted some truly great wine in a gorgeous setting, but also that I had received genuine hospitality from a staff that cares deeply about the wine they make. I very much look forward to returning to these beautiful grounds to further explore their offerings! From the scenery to the wine itself and especially the friendly faces, Rombauer gives you an outstanding winery experience!“
“What a fantastic place this is!We were there on day when a storm came in. Sitting on the back patio, under a umbrella, sipping wine and enjoying the clouds, lightning and thunder roll through. The people there were so nice and the amount of awards the wines have was pretty cool.We will certainly be going back again.... And, again.“
“Another wine tasting and another club membership! Such a great time getting to know the people running the show here. We were able to taste a good number of their wines, and we REALLY liked the white offerings they had. Subtle flavors and a great little cheese pairing to boot! We literally will be back because we joined the club!“

“I am the host of a foodie Meetup group. My group dined here on Saturday, May 11th for dinner. Food was truly exceptional, perfectly executed dishes, cooked and seasoned perfectly, not trying too hard, rather was high quality food served simply and it was clear the chef knows what they are doing. Service was equally excellent, and the ambience was great - nice outdoor seating and indoor ambience very pleasant as well. Highly recommend, and don't skip dessert. We got 4 different desserts, and each one was was stunningly good. My favorite was the chocolate cake with orange blossom whipped cream - cake was so light and fluffy, and the orange whipped cream set it off so nicely and delicately. Truly a superb restaurant all around. Will definitely be back!“
“f you're in Placerville on a Thursday through Sunday, you should definitely stop by The Wine Smith! They offer a great selection of wines and each glass is only $9! Scott is eager to find you a glass you like, and will let you sample before you make your choice. He also sells wine by the bottle if you fall in love with your choice. It's got local artists work displayed and music on a turn table. The Gregory Graham Chardonnay is fantastic!“

“We too have been members for years! What happened to Debbi and Nate? Wow, sad to hear, Debbi was 1 one of the main reasons we went FH, besides wine, but she truly made it extraordinarily special! Hopefully she's ok.“
“We had the best time here--small, quaint indoors, and beautiful outdoor seating. We did the cheese and wine pairing. Anna was there to help guide us through the tasting and was extremely thorough and attentive. I couldn't recommend this place more. We were advised about all the close restaurants and wineries we'd have to visit while we were there. The Sangiovese was a stand-out for a light but delicious wine and we couldn't leave without buying a bottle of port. I wish I had room to also bring home cheese but we didn't have a cooler that would sustain the weekend trip. If you get a chance, try the cumin cheese. Did you know blue cheese is outstanding with their port? Now you know.“
“What a great winery with great owners and a really nice staff. The staff is well-educated in the wines and are quick to recommend wines based on your palette. The pizzas are really good and the chef is great. Overall experience is amazing. Highly recommend.“
“Great experience. The non-drinkers of our family were able to enjoy the outdoor seating area while the rest of the crew was hanging in the tasting room. Fabulous wines and friendly service. Bonus points for the furry friend we made. Bought a case to hold us over until our next visit.“

“We love this place for Chinese food. Always super tasty, hot, and generous portions. Look forward to when they have indoor dining again. But we get out food to go, and 25 mins later, it's still screaming hot. Super nice people running a family business. You will not be disappointed!“
“Stunning winery grounds and some of my favorite wines! TDO is a few hours east of Napa Valley in Amador County/Sierra Foothills area. LOVE: - Their outdoor seating area is beautiful! If possible, have them seat you out there for your tasting to enjoy the views. - Their wines, of course! TDO consistently has some of my favorite reds at very reasonable prices. - The tastings themselves are much more affordable than in Napa Valley. - The winery cats are just the cutest and friendliest! - Friendly team members to greet you here. PASS: - I know this area is more casual, but a group of 4 standing at the tasting bar without a seating option was meh for me. I'd have rather been seated outside so we can enjoy the view. - The team member serving us was VERY chatty about her personal life, with less of a focus on sharing info about the wines themselves. - The tasting pours were 1oz and felt very tiny - a more standard 2-3 oz tasting pour would be more hospitable in my opinion. Taking photos of 1oz pours just looks sad. We still ended up bringing a case home because we LOVE their wines, but would definitely speak up for an outdoor spot next time!“
“We signed up for an event. My husband got an email, that it was cancelled. We drove here thinking we would just pick up and leave. We were surprised, to see the event going on as planned. They accepted our early reservation, since it changed to first come, first serve. Had room inside, which we prefer with it raining today. A good acoustic guitar and singer were playing. Wood stove pizza and delicious wine was poured. Our server Katie was experienced and very knowledgeable. This place has always been unique and surprisely fun.“

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Golden Waffle Cafe in Placerville, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience. I ordered the California omelet, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best omelets I've ever had. The combination of avocado, tomato, and melted cheese was simply divine, and the eggs were cooked to perfection. The potatoes that accompanied the omelet were seasoned just right, providing a delightful contrast in texture and flavor. The atmosphere of the cafe was cozy and inviting, with a friendly staff that made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. The service was prompt, and the waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. I particularly appreciated the attention to detail, such as the fresh flowers on the tables and the personalized greetings from the owners.Overall, I would highly recommend The Golden Waffle Cafe to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in Placerville. The food is top-notch, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is warm and welcoming. I give The Golden Waffle Cafe a well-deserved 5-star rating, and I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious offerings.“

“Cute pub atmosphere - food is carefully prepared with attention to detail. My lamb burger came out a little too red for my liking (I don't think I communicated very well that I wanted it rather well done not at all pink) and rather than just cook it more they brought me a whole new order. It was delicious! Fries are super crispy, well seasoned and everything is very fresh. We had a wonderful lunch! Wait staff very attentive but did not hover. Excellent all over experience.“
“The service is amazing! They take the time to explain each wine; they made me feel as if I were the only person in the tasting room, even though there were several other couples. Every wine I tasted was delicious! So glad I stopped; it was a wonderful experience.“
“My favorite place on our wine tour. They had live music despite the rain. And since it was a lil slow with all the rain they still let us do a wine tasting flight here. This was the best wine I had out of all the places we went to so I was super grateful for them letting us taste test. Loved that we can order food and they brought it over to us while we sipped our drinks and enjoyed the music. Can't wait to be back.“

“As someone with severe allergies (onions and garlic) its hard to find somewhere that understands when I bring it up. Tonight my husband and I went in and I asked the cashier what if anything I could possibly eat with my allergies (I fully understand that sometimes I cant eat at all the restaurants, but my husband can) and she went into ask the chef immediately. She was able to tell me what I was able to order and even went back multiple times to check that NOTHING in my food had any allergens. I got home and immediately tried the food and OMG it is so good!! I got a chimichanga with grilled chicken, lettuce and cheese only and it was made perfect; hubby got the wet burrito. I can't tell you enough how great the food was, but more so that the staff cared enough to make sure I had a good experience. Will definitely be going back soon!“

“Phenomenal!!!! I should have joined the club here haha Beautiful beautiful venue. We considered having a wedding here - that's how pretty. Our bartender was very pleasant and informative. We walked away with two bottles and a warm heart. The view in the back of the winery is just amazing. I would recommend this place and of course a reservation because it's popular. They also serve food which is a huge plus.“
“As many of the reviews this place has great views and beautiful grounds. My just bought a weekend home in the are and were looking for a winery that matches the vibes that I am use to in Sonoma. This place checked all the boxes and the wine was good. My husband and I opt in on a membership on our first tasting! This were going well until we invited some of our friends to join us. We had a total of 7 people and we only wanted to have the wine but because of the size of our party we can only get a table if we order food. I was very confuse because we even booked it well in advanced. Any way a brushed it off and maybe this was just a one time coincidence. NOPE! it happened again. Also their booking system is a set back in time. Why does someone have to email to make a reservation, is this the 90s?! As much as the beautiful scenery I cancelled my membership.Change of heart - This place is definitely growing on me, as i said boastful grounds the staff on the floor working are very nice. The chef is EXCEPTIONAL! He is one of the main reasons why I keep going back. Of course the wine is great as well. The booking policy just needs to be changed! I cry every time i have a group of 6 or more adults visiting because i cant take them here. They limit you to sit away from the tasting area, no food just snacks and buy bottles even if you are a member. I just want my friends to experience a beautiful winery besides Napa or Sanoma. I come here with one other most of the time so its not an issues. Also, i would suggest adding stools inside the tasting room because its the only are to have wine when its cold outside.“

“The food is great! The people working here are fun, kind, and very accommodating. They have some games for kids, beers, pizzas and salads, wings, and a lot more. The prices are fair and affordable.I had the all meat and the pepperoni pizza. Both were stellar! The crust was awesome, the toppings crispy but not burnt, and the pizza didn't drip grease everywhere. The beer selection is decent, with some fan favorites and a few unknowns. It's cold and it is served quickly. Win win! They do have events here that seemed fun. They had a painting, pizza, wine night sort of get together. It looked fun! I'm glad they are invested in their community.Support this place; they have good people working here and serve great food! I'm local, but if you are a traveler headed to Tahoe or beyond, give this place a stop to "fill up" before landing in your final destination.Parking: Loads of spots, even RVs and trailers. “What an incredible down to earth family vineyard that's has beautiful views, where the sun hits just right and brings out all the vibrancy's of the nature all around as if you were in Italy. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. The tastings were generously poured and the wine distinctively pronounced. Whether you are a white or red wine drinker, there is a wine here you are sure to fall in love with an affordable price. They have a live jazz band every other Saturday . A highlight was the owner brought out some homemade ravioli to our private tasting party in which every bit was savored. They also offer wood fire pizza. Loved having Roggero, the owner, come and sit with our party. The meaningful and fun conversation brought true Italian hospitality to our time.“
