It's family run by Manoli and his wife Rosio. Their son Milton also helps them out. They've been in business for almost 30 years. One bite of their pastrami sandwich will explain it all. They are so sweet and just the nicest and welcoming family. I love their consistency, every time you walk in the door you're greeted with a warm smile and food is always made with love. They don't make it til you order it and taste homemade. Give it a try and you'll find why they've lasted through time. From the sandwiches, their salads to their smoothies. The girl working was being very patient with an indecisive customer in front of us and then extended the same patience to help us next. “I LOVE acai bowls and was pleasantly surprised by Northside Shack's variety of toppings. The bowls are expensive, as many are these days, but the large ($17) was great to share between two people. You can have as many bases (acai, pitaya, or coconut) as you'd like with unlimited toppings. There are some additional toppings available for a cost, and adding peanut butter for $2 was very worthwhile. Peanut butter complements the fruit so well and there was plenty in the bowl. There was a bit of a wait as the bases may be blended fresh and it was busy on a weekend around noon. There aren't any tables but a few benches and chairs outside the shop. The North Park Mini Park is a couple blocks away if you're looking for a picnic table. They gave us a plate with our to-go packaged bowl which really helped catch the many toppings piled on top of the large bowl.“

Only thing I don't so much care for is the space itself. It's very small and usually overcrowded, and no public restroom is available. The texture, typical of taro milk tea, was slightly grainy but not overwhelming. Boba: Unfortunately, the boba was inconsistent with varying textures--some too chewy, some hard. Seemed like a mix of undercooked, overcooked, and just right. Vietnamese Coffee: Not my favorite; less sweet and a bit bitter compared to what I expected from Vietnamese Coffee. Service has been good, and the cashier is friendly. They offer a 5% cash discount. Despite not being my top choice for boba or Vietnamese coffee, it's conveniently close to work, and I might give it a few more tries. Oh and the interior does have a room for a few people to sit, but I can see how the seating could be uncomfortable if it is really busy.“

I have fond memories of hanging out at the local Juice Time with friends or siblings after a long day of spending time together and hanging around. Let's talk a bit more about the food options. As Kuwaitis, we're known in the Arabian Peninsula for incredible cuisine and sublime dessert recipes. At this place, you can take a waffle or crepe, and add lotus, pistachio sauce, kinder, Nutella and whatever else your heart desires. “I have to knock a star off because they don't have any plant milk options, only that "non-dairy creamer" which has milk proteins in it. They do have a "fresh tea" drink selection so I ordered a rose oolong tea with boba, 70% sweet. It was really good! The tea flavor was strong but properly brewed with no bitterness, and the rose was deliciously aromatic but not overwhelming. Boba were cooked perfectly. It's a shame they have no plant milk options because that eliminates most of the menu for people with milk sensitivity/allergy (and vegans). But it's so great to find a tea place that actually brews good tea. Would do again next time I'm in this area of the country.“
