“Did the hour drive from North county on a Friday afternoon (also called 40 mins prior to ask if they were still serving, as I saw sign on IG stating "until sold out" ) Def. Happy I tried this spot. Their pho is reminiscent of the Filipino "Nilaga" - like a pho-nilaga hybrid and with the chili oil, it hit all the right spot The owner's hospitality was second to none; felt very welcomed and appreciated as a new patron. Can't wait to bring my family to try this spot. Sending this business all the positive and blessed vibes so they thrive and continue to grow!“
“Excellent food and great service. A smaller menu but the dishes are some of the best I've had. We've been here three times and will continue to come back. Highly recommend the stir-fried green beans, Dan Dan noodles, pork soup dumplings and the beef noodle soup.“
“The pho is delicious, especially the steak pho. The price is great for the size of the bowl, I never finish it but I always take it home and eat it after.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian pho is so good, a great variety of vegetables that go well with the pho.“
“So pleasantly surprised by this place! We got the both XLB flavors, a couple of the dumplings, orange chicken and chicken chow mein. The noodles in the chow mein were slightly overcooked but that didn't take away from the flavor. All the dumplings were delicious and the orange chicken was some of the best I've had. Crispy and sweet but not overly sweet. We have picky kids and all of them devoured the food. Prices were fair and we are looking forward to returning! Service was great, waitstaff were nice and food came out quick!“
“Tried this location for the first time. Enjoyed the food and the prices were more than reasonable for the portions. We did a combination of lunches and dinner plates as a to go order and everything was fresh and tasty. Our lunches with chicken was approx 12 each and included rice and a small soup. Soup was delicious!I also ordered their Beef Salad which thankfully they put the dressing on the side so the greens stayed crisp. (I’ve been to many Thai restaurants and they often put it on which makes the greens soggy by the time you get home and no good for leftovers). The flavors were right on.Will definitely return!“
“I like the Phó here. Always fresh and has a great variety. Usually I get the brisket and rare steak phó.Banh mi sandwiches are delicious and authentic.Appetizers are great! We like the egg rolls and spring rolls.Always clean and bright inside. Quick, friendly service. Extra sauces on the table to add to your meals. If you've never had Phó, give it a try. Huge bowl of soup for the regular size. Want more? There is a large size. I think you could almost take a bath in it the bowl is so big! Go. Try it. One of my favorites.“
“National City & the South Bay area are quickly becoming a foodie paradise. This place is new to me but I really liked their menu options. We had a unique Sushi n Gone roll, some delicious soup & a nice side salad. Come early because parking is limited during peak hours. Family friendly tho they do serve beer. Great staff.“
“This places pork spring rolls or Nam Mung are so good. The pho hits the spot after a night out and the place is pretty busy. I think it’s a really good meal for the price. Ended up being about ~100 with the egg rolls, three phos and Nam mungs.“
“This was a great Thai place. It’s too bad they closed the plaza. The restaurant moved and merged with what I think is their other restaurant - Corner Thai Kitchen just up the street on Friar’s, but I haven’t tried the new location yet. I hope it’s the same because this place was a winner!“
“Such a great experience. Best pho in SD. The fried food is always crispy af. The veggies are always fresh and never wilted. The broth is always flavorful and piping hot.At times, the restaurant can get busy and the staff certainly wears multiple hats. Don't let this bug you or pull away from your experience overall experience. I've found it only adds to the fun and is a part of supporting a family owned, small business. The boss lady who is in charge is a great host and always makes sure her guests are taken care of. I haven't found a better pho place in the US.“
“Absolutely one of my and my wife's favorite places to eat. This specific restaurant, this specific address, these specific employees create a wonderful dining experience.I am always delighted by the speed at which the food arrives at my table, and my wife is always astounded at the speed at which the food then enters my mouth. The food never disappoints. This must be the greatest Thai restaurant in the U.S.Jolly good show.“
“First time here, but my wife has been here several times (she loves it). This place is quick and they had no problems fitting our party of 10 with no prior notice. We were seated quickly and water was brought out just as quickly. It seemed like our food was brought out right after we ordered it.Eggs rolls were good. I also ordered the Beef Noodle Stew, which was super filling, packed full of flavor, and had a generous amount of everything in it.I would eat here again and I would recommend it to f&f.Kid-friendliness: Plenty loud in here when it's busy so don't really worry if your kids are loud. Cups with tops and small/kid size bowls available.“
“Delicious food made with love and care! I love this family owned Thai place. The restaurant is a little cozy so it may be better for take out. The portions were good and the taste was phenomenal! I'll definitely be back. Thank you for your service!“
“So delicious! The soup that comes with the lunch special knocked my socks off. The prices are great. Outstanding noodles. Friendly, efficient service. Feels like eating at a little hole in the wall on a Thai island, except with real chairs (iykyk). I'll be back.“
“Delicious! We got the dumpling and wonton egg noodle soup, the combo egg noodle soup (#27), veggie egg rolls, and fried dough ("donuts"). The donuts were warm, nice and crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Egg noodles were delicious and broth for both our soups were excellent.“
“Outstanding cuisine with excellent quality! The dishes are flavorful, healthy, and incredibly fresh. It offers great value, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. I've frequented this establishment many times and will continue to support this business because I love it! However, my only complaint is that occasionally there's a lengthy wait for food, with 45 minutes being a norm during busy times.“
“Only thing, when you walk in it seems like a sewer pipe is burst so not a fun time breathing it in.Food was good though. Hopefully that smell issue is fixed soon. Don't worry, you'll start to not notice it after a few minutes but you'll know it's there “
“I really enjoyed my experience at Loft 94. It's a great spot in Jamul Casino to get some delicious food. The service there was pretty good. It wasn't too busy because we went on a Tuesday night. Unfortunately it was already dark by the time we got in, but I'm sure the views during sunset would be amazing. The terrace was beautiful with large fire pits, heaters, and comfy couches. The food was great. I ordered the Mazeman Ramen with Pork Belly. We also had the Ouchi Eggs (SO GOOD), the wings, and Shishido peppers. The ramen was good, nothing very unique, but a solid choice. The pork belly was juicy and real fatty. The wings were pretty good and worth ordering as an appetizer. The drinks we ordered from the bar were not the greatest, but cheaper than if you ordered at the bar down in the casino.“
“This restaurant has very fresh food made when you order it. The prices here, at the China China restaurant, are very cheap.Parking: The China China restaurant has a large parking lot that is free for all those who eat in the restaurant or take away with themselves.“
“Despite shortage of staff, these family owners/cook/server have been so kind to feed my family with authentic Khmer/Angkorian dishes which I used to travel to Long Beach to obtain/enjoy! I like to continue to support such family who was forced to come to America, like my family, due to unfinished Nixon's war since 1969. God bless them!“
“I have been going to this establishment since they first opened. I love having the food here and usually get the pork blood porridge, hot tea and an iced coffee. Have tried just about the whole menu though and you really cant miss with any “
“So good we had to go two Saturdays in a row! Ordered pad Thai, pad see ew, Thai Basil, Panang Curry, & all of it phenomenal. Best Thai flavors we have had I think. We got it to-go and the gentleman kindly brought it over before I was fully out of the car. Everything hot and fresh. Spice level is high so maybe go down a number or two from your usual spice level ?“
“Best sushi place ever! The food and service is amazing!! everyone is so nice and friendly. our food came out so fast and was soo good. The spicy garlic edamame is the best I’ve had and the Samurai roll was amazing ?? overall the place is so good me and my friends loved it! I recommend everyone to go!!“
“I love Pho. I base the majority of opinion on the strength of the flavor of their soup. The stronger the flavor the less they rushed it when cooking it earlier. The portion was exactly like I like, not too much but definitely not too little. Ingredients were all good except the mint leaves look like there were used. Leaves were ripped in half and looked like it was picked on. Not saying it was but it had that appearance and they should know better. I had mine to go and it was wrapped up so I didn’t look inside. They gave out packets of the hoisin sauce and a packet of fake sriracha 1 each…that equals a loss of a star or it’s 5 easy.“
“Fortunate Son in San Diego offers a delightful experience for those craving authentic Southern cuisine with a twist. Whether you're indulging in their signature fried chicken or savoring their mouthwatering barbecue selections, every bite is a taste of culinary excellence. The attentive staff adds to the charm, ensuring your visit is nothing short of memorable. Fortunate Son is a gem in San Diego's culinary scene, a must-visit for anyone seeking comfort food with a gourmet flair.“
“Great service, great food. Very clean. Large portions. We came for lunch after the hike at the Cowles; wasn’t too busy but atmosphere was very welcoming. Most of the tables were taken, food came out pretty fast, fresh and hot. We were very pleasantly surprised. I always come to dry cleaners next door and never noticed this place. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it.“
“By far some of the best pho I have had in San Diego. Everything about this place is amazing from the pho to the chicken wings, to the fish. Definitely a family owned gem in the middle of suburban sprawl. If you live in Eastlake, you need to eat here!“
“Chris VPosting publicly across GoogleFoodServiceAtmospherethai taste, thirty-plus yearsof the best thai food i havefound in san diego county!Moved back to San Diego and before I even started to unpack boxes, made the drive from Ocean Beach out to Thai Taste. In 22 months living out of California, I was in San Diego 18 times...and each time, I went to Thai Taste. The restaurant looks like a hole in the wall and I have had several friends I gave the address to say it took them several tries to find.I have had an ongoing challenge with the kitchen each time I come in...and it is to make Som Tom as spicy as they know how. Once again, Thai Taste has succeeded in eclipsing the previous version. The folks there have given me the service I have become accustomed to, quick and cheerful,To shake things up a bit, I tried their Chicken Gra Prow and Panang Curry, both at 7 spicy. Their regular scale is 1-5, and staff shared that anyone ordering 6 or 7 are aware that the spiciness of these dishes will be off the radar. Of course, I ordered the Som Tom, which I order at 10, and have yet to be disappointed. After spending significant time in both northern and southern Thailand, as I see it, this is the most authentic representation of Thai cuisine I have found in the US. The ingredients are always fresh, the preparation and presentation authentic and the prices are certainly good. The one possible challenge I have for Thai Taste is to update the dining room. Everything is clean, it just looks old.Keep it up, Thai Taste!Parking: Free and abundant.“
“Pick up Order:Staff was friendly upon pick-up. Staff also read the special instructions note and granted my request asking for pepper that I could add to my Hong Kong Noodles.Best Asian fusion place I've been to. Loved the notable Southeast Asian notes with popular East Asian Dishes. Will have to try more of the menu to find more Asian influences!Food: As a Lao gal, I loved everything!!Hong Kong Style Noodles: Broth was so I good I had to take a second sip to make sure I tasted it right. The Cha Shu Pork was absolutely amazing! I usually don't like that style of pork because of the texture I usually find in ramen, but this Cha Shu Pork was SO SO SO flavorful and cooked to perfection that it just melted in my mouth. It must've been basted over flame because the flavor was present throughout the pieces (4) and it has a yummy sweet, charred umami flavor.Szechuan Spicy Chicken Wontons: ACTUALLY spicy and were yummy and filling. New kind of wrap for me (thin and silky) but still delicious.Satay Chicken: I smelled the satay chicken the moment I got back in my car. I had to fight myself from digging into the bottom of the bag and taking a bite right then and there. They wrapped it in foil so it was still warm and flavorful when I got home.Beer: Learning to like beer, but the TOM YUM BEER American Wheat Beer was so refreshing and helped cut through the spices so I could continue to enjoy my meal (it actually says it on the back! I didn't see until after my meal lol). Cool to see the other Thai beers, will be trying them next time!Overall 11/10! Will be going back and trying the rest of the menu.Vegetarian options: All the vegetarian dishes have a green "VH" marked at the bottom of the description. SEA food tends to have a good variety of Vegetarian dishes.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible right off the sidewalk and is a one story shop with no stairs or barriers. Swing door must be pulled open and is the standard door size. Tables and chairs can be moved to be accessible to wheelchair users.“
“This place is hided gem. We are visiting San Diego for a couple of days. Decided on Chinese food. Ma Noodle delivers so we took a chance. I’m glad we did. We ordered the Yang chow Rice, the salted chicken and the crispy shrimp. The food was great. The portions were big as well. It was enough for at least 3 people. I haven’t had Chinese food this good in very long time. Nothing overly or under seasoned. Great experience. Definitely recommend.“
“Let me tell you why I give 5 stars. The bread for the Bahn mi. Ive gone to waay to many places in San Diego that give you stale bread. Here they seem to toast it on the spot to maximize crispyness.Second, the broth for the pho actually has flavor, unlike most places ive been too.Third, good thai iced coffee. ( i do not personally like their boba) so its perfect without it for me.4th very reasonable prices considering the affects of post pandemic.“
“We love their food! Our go to items are salt n pepper wings, BBQ, Oceania, and house fried rice! They also make their own spicy mustard. It’s the best I’ve ever had! White rice or fried rice comes with the main dishes as a side as well. We eat the leftovers for lunch and nothing ever goes to waste. So good, so good!!!“
“Food is always on point and authentic. You can just smell it when you walk in that it’s the real deal. Absolutely love the taro milk tea here! The peanut sauce is the best - they add enough spice and flavor to it. They put effort in seasonal decorations, keeping the place neat, and just the overall atmosphere is nice. One of our favorite Thai places for sure.“
