“The most unpretentious high end dining experience in the area. The venue is quaint with seating for about 20. Great choice of music playing softly in the background. I loved the husband/wife team approach. They seem to have the timing of everything really dialed in. They were both very pleasant and took turns serving the guests. The food was very good although the cheese plate with a huge slab of brioche bread was not my favorite course. My favorite dish was the morel with caviar. I also really enjoyed the carbonated pears. I recommend that you give it a shot. I will most likely dine there again.Parking: The parking lot is shared by the other businesses and can get pretty filled up.“

“It was our first time visiting. We were greeted and got all the information necessary to be able to order the items we wanted. Gabe helped us and was so very kind and helpful throughout our experience. The patty melt was great as were the pastrami sandwiches. The French fries were amazing!! We also got rootbeer, a milkshake, ice cream and more. Everything was delicious and the service was over the top!! Gabe couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. “My fiancée was going here EVERY single day before we got together. The staff all know Jason by name and great him. They even bring his ice tea without being prompted. I love the Caesar salad. Lately we've been ordering the pork chops and they're always so good. Lately it hasn't been too busy either which is unfortunate because this place should be more busy based on the food and service alone.“
“I've loved Joy of Eating for as long as I can remember....over 35 years....Moved out of state 7 years ago and on my last quick trip back to vallejo, our first stop as soon as we drove into town was Joy of Eating...Just as I remembered it! Food was delivered quick and was delicious...THE BREAD...I MISS IT SO MUCH....it is Soooo good!The server said the buildings on the whole block had recently been purchased.....I fear the new owners will be tearing it done....but I hope not.“
“I love the shrimp and fries, the shrimp is very meaty. The tartar sauce is the best reminds me of home every time I drive past Vallejo, I stopped there and pick up a meal for the road. I've eaten inside a couple of times services on the spot and the place is always clean“
