“Celebrated our daughter’s birthday on Friday and everything was AMAZING! Our server, Jaden, was fabulous and our food was incredible!! Definitely a great experience!”
“The food was absolutely delicious!! The lomo saltado was perfectly cooked with just the right balance of spices. The portions were generous, and each dish tasted authentic. Calm atmosphere and friendly staff. Whether you’re familiar with Peruvian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place is a must. Highly recommend!”
“Delightful dining experience. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server was a charming man who made us feel more like family friends. Definitely look forward to dining there again, and highly recommend.”

“We went here for my girlfriend birthday last night at 7PM and the food and service was great, but they did not promise to put a candle on her dessert.
When I made the reservation, I specifically said that the occasion was for her birthday and I also called a couple hours earlier on our reservation day to make a note to the server, but they failed to do so. I shouldn’t have to ask again when we were dining.
EDIT: The general manager sincerely apologized about our experience.”
“We stopped in here really quick on our way to the airport leaving town, and my only regret is that we didn't visit this place sooner. We probably would have eaten here every day. We all got lobster rolls, and not only were they affordable, they were fantastic. Im shocked it was as slow as it was (granted, we were there at like 5 pm - not quite dinner time) because it should be wall to wall packed. I can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu.”

“The Pinnacle of High-Class Dining
Well, folks, let me tell ya, I done seen some fancy places in my day—like the Red Lobster out by the interstate—but nothing, and I mean *nothing*, coulda prepared me for the high society experience that is Olive Garden. This ain't just dinner, it's a dang *event*.
First thing I noticed was the atmosphere. Real cloth napkins, not just the scratchy brown ones from a gas station dispenser. A lady in a button-up shirt brought us bread *for free*, and I nearly fell out my boots. That’s hospitality, right there. The sign says, *"When You’re Here, You’re Family,"* and I gotta say, I ain't never felt more like kinfolk anywhere that didn't have a bail bondsman on speed dial.
Now, the food? *Exquisite*. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo ‘cause it had the most expensive-soundin' name, and buddy, it was like the Lord Himself boiled those noodles. My cousin Bubba Joe said his spaghetti was “real gourmet,” and that’s sayin’ something, ‘cause he usually eats his pasta straight out the can.
Course, not all my kinfolk appreciated the refinement. My Aunt Brenda Sue got kicked out ‘fore the salads even hit the table ‘cause she tried lightin’ a Marlboro right there in the booth. She said, *“I thought this place was Italy! Don’t them Europeans love smokin’?”* The manager did not see her logic.
Then there was my brother Cletus, who took the “All You Can Eat” breadsticks as a *challenge*. After about basket number seven, the waiter started givin’ us the side-eye, but Cletus just kept hollerin’, *“I ain’t full yet, fancy boy!”* I think they were fixin’ to cut us off, but then cousin Raylene started flirtin’ with the busboy and bought us a little more time.
The night took a turn when my Uncle Randy decided to sample the wine list, which we usually don’t mess with unless it’s in a box. He said the house Chianti tasted like “fancy Welch’s grape juice with a kick,” and I’ll be damned if that ain’t the most poetic thing that man’s ever said. He got cut off after his fourth glass and tried tellin’ ‘em he was an *Italian prince* to get more. Didn’t work.
By the end of the night, after a heapin’ pile of pasta, unlimited salad, and just a *tiny* bit of property damage (Randy knocked over a whole display of them glass olive oil bottles while tryin’ to reenact a scene from *The Godfather*), we wobbled on outta there feelin’ like true high society folk. I ain’t never been nowhere that fancy, and I tell ya what, I’m gonna make Olive Garden our new special occasion spot.
*When you're here, you're family,* and I never felt that more than when we all got banned from ever comin’ back.”
“We have the good fortune to work at the Pond House and Elizabeth Park typically several times a year as we are full-time wedding photographers. It is hard to find a more beautiful location if you want to mix in the gorgeous outdoors with a comfortable and stunning indoor space. We always love the well-kept and photogenic grounds, the elegant touches from the interior to the patio, and the attentive, friendly, easy-going staff who run weddings so well. The food is superb, and it It is always a pleasure to book a wedding here since it will go absolutely seamlessly in heat or cold, rain or shine. If you work in this industry you know every wedding has a mishap or two from something forgotten at home, a sudden change in the weather, the party being stuck in traffic, etc. Everyone at the Pond House rolls with the punches so well, and the venue allows us all to collectively handle this turbulence with grace. The communication is excellent with other vendors and one another. They make sure to take care of their vendors really well (which always tells me they go above and beyond for couples). I am always confident we will have a tremendous day when walking in the door. While this is written from the perspective of a small business owner, this is an unbiased and unsponsored review. I/we simple appreciate the perfect days we’ve enjoyed there. A huge thanks to the wonderful staff for all their help over the years, and here’s to timeless memories for many of weddings to come! “Great wait staff! Pros- Service was excellent! Many of food items were delicious- puff pastry, pate, panzanella salad, halibut, scallops, crème brûlée, chocolate mousse. Cons- tried to seat us at back table next to restrooms (common experience for older women); we asked for window seating and they accommodated. “Hamachi Crudo-Thai basil, peanut, strawberry”was over-sauced, sauce was heavy, had many jalapeños!; all disguised delicate flavor of fish.”

Takeout Restaurants
“We normally go to Tokyo Ramen in Storrs, CT but they are closed for the summer. We decided to try Kaliubon in Wethersfield and got the seasoned edamame and it was so flavorful. We also got the beef ramen bowl and they were extremely good aswell. Will come back again with friends, thank you!”
“Take-out food recommendation! Hot Basil Thai Food, 565 New Park Ave, West Hartford. Ordered three dishes at 2:15pm today for pick-up. Not only was the food OUTSTANDING, but the price SHOCKED me at how low it was. I guess the lunch menu prices is reduced. I will be doing this again, frequently. I've eaten there for dinner several times per year for years and never regretted it, but this blew me away, both the quality and price. Let's be sure to keep them in business with take-out orders!”
“We loved this place! Authentic Chinese food - Stephanie. The Chengdu dumplings and cold rabbit appetizers were fantastic! my son had the crisp pork belly, and I had the sliced smoked duck. Soooooo delicious! Can't wait to bring the hubs here.”

Drive-Thru Restaurants
“Rita’s is truly like no other place I’ve ever been to. We drive 45 minutes just to come here for their ice, custard and happiness. Rita’s frozen custard is just amazing. It’s sweet, creamier and thicker than a regular soft serve ice cream. Their Italian ice is some of the best I’ve ever had. You really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors they have. They are all so good! I highly recommend the gelati, and have a couple different flavors of ice with it. My personal favorites are watermelon, chocolate covered strawberry,, strawberry lemonade and sour patch red. The sprinkles they have are really good too. Worth the trip, even if it’s an hour away. There are so many great restaurants in the area.”
“Ok y'all let me tell yall about the Soft Moist cakes. Every last one is delicious The Strawberry Celebration cake was tasty. I'm a big critic when it comes to Red Velvet because it's my favorite cake, this one was amazing from the soft cake to the cream cheese frosting that was light and melted in my mouth 🤤 with each bite. NOW the Chocolate Caramel Delux. This the one that will make all your sadness go away, that time of the month seem like it's nothing and will cure you chocolate craving for what ever reason.. order y'all a cake for yourselves Sienna Cakery”
“Keep in mind, this is French Vietnamese fusion. If you’re from the West Coast, the closest to this food is The Slanted Door in the San Francisco and Bay Area where it is 3x the price.
Never a bad meal. The Shaking Beef, Crepes, Imperial Rolls… can’t get enough. Been coming here since the late 80’s. Love the family too.”

“Just checked out the new South Windsor location and the the experience did not disappoint. Great service, food was delicious and portions were HUGE. We had a specialty pizza, chicken piccata, salad, and house made fried mozzarella. All great. Only problem is we can’t move right now.”
“Two thumbs for Effie’s Place!!! We were back in WH recently for a visit and had a great experience at Effie’s. Love the refreshed decor, the menu and food were terrific, and we can’t say enough about the wait staff. They were kind, present and professional. Thanks so much!”
“Do you like jukebox music ? with snazzy tunes and tasty pizza with fast service, than please try Jimmies out they have New York style pizza and there regular style pizza with all the delicious toppings... ? the drinks are bottled and the salads look absolutely delicious with big portions and fresh veggies.”
“Delicate exquisite Argentine pastries following in the finest European tradition of excellent detail and taste! Surprisingly the interior gives no clues as to the royal delights offered….This must be central CT’s best kept secret!. If you let appearances deceive, you are the loser. We tried just a few items: alfajores cookies, guava stuffed into turnover pastry, butterfly-wings(…sometimes called elephant ears), and beef empanadas…with cappuccino expertly made -foam design and all! As we were on our way out, a gentleman entering told us not to miss the delectable rolls!
We were so excited choosing items to try, that we forgot to add the Dulce de Leche & French crème coronet horns!!! We will return there tomorrow morning at 8am to get all we missed today! Buen provecho! Bon apetit!

“Beautiful weather today so I grabbed a Jim dog, fries and soda to go and headed to the park for a peaceful delicious lunch. The location is perfect and the staff were very friendly, but the food was amazing! Can’t wait for my next kid free day because I know where I’ll be grabbing lunch and might even do a little shopping in the plaza 😉”

“The server was nice, but seemed to have difficulty navigating the needs of a party of 6. She brought fries for the party to share but no plates, didn't inform one member of the party that a request was unavailable. She was friendly when we reminded her, so it was no problem.”
“Delicious, flavorful, exotic looking Mediterranean dishes and great drinks. Would love to visit again:)”
