“After having an unpleasant experience at another restaurant in the area we came to Judy’s and this was meant to be! The service was amazing, our server Fidel was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. Fidel gave us really good recommendations. We ordered one tamarind margarita and one lemon margarita with mezcal, they both were delicious and fresh! For the food, we ordered pupusas revueltas and pupusas with cheese and beans! Best pupusas I ever tried! I’m definitely coming back! The service at this place is really great!SECOND VISITAfter a great experience at Judy’s last night, I wanted to come back to explore more the many and I’m glad I did! Fidel’s customer service was exceptional as the first time. This time I tried Bistec a la criolla, Judy’s combination and for dessert I had their 3 leches cake and their flan. Both were divide, I can recommend this place enough!THIRD VISITAMAZING! The Lomo Saltado and Burrito was incredible delicious! The margaritas were tasty! Loving this restaurant! ❤️ the customer service is 100 points! 10 out of 10!“

“I truly enjoy this place. I come here often to get the same dish. I grab their 3 carne asada tacos. It’s one of my favorite spots to pick up tacos. Very authentic. I have had their paposas (not sure if I spelled it correctly) and they are great also. The service is kind and friendly. It seems like a family own business.“

“They have the best seafood soup!!!! Incredibly tasty, healthy, and full of chunky seafood, scallops, shrimp, and fish. The soup goes exceptionally well with the pickled veggies and tortillas that it comes with along with a squeeze of lemon. An absolute must try if you like seafood soup!!! PS. I get mine without cream but you can get it on the side to try in the soup.“

“I knew the food was going to be delicious once we walked in and saw a bunch of locals just hanging out drinking beers. The vibes were great. The pupusas were delicious, chicharrón con yuca was not dry at all and full of flavor. The music was also great. Our server was handling everything on her own from the front to waiting the tables and this was the best service we had while visiting DC. We can’t wait to come back!“

“Local and authentic Pupusería. $6 for 2. Fresh and made to order, lots of options but I went with just bean and cheese and cheese. Service was friendly and fast. The restaurant is small on the inside but there's a pretty large outdoor covered patio. Definitely recommend and would be interested in their other offerings.“

Sopa de Mariscos

“*CHEF'S KISS* Cozy and utilitarian ambiance, with a cute tiny bar, very friendly and attentive service. But THE FOOD though! I just stopped in because it was near my barber and I knew that I could satisfy my "2 meal hunger" for relatively cheap. Frankly and honestly, this was the best Honduran food I've ever tasted. I don't say that lightly, I have eaten A LOT of good Salvadoran and Honduran food since I moved to the area in 2007. I've even had homemade pupusas from mothers of my students on a regular basis. I'm normally not a fan of refried beans on my Tostadas or in fajitas, but they used just the right amount, & they were damn good. For once I feel they actually contributed to the taste of the Baleada and Catracha instead of taking away. The food was so good I have finally dedicated the names of these dishes to memory. in the past they never made a big impact flavor- wise, just kind of good, simple Central American home cooking classics. Everything here was absolutely cooked to perfection and the chef knows exactly what balance of ingredients and fillings are exceptionally delicious in texture and complimentary flavors . STANDOUTS: The Catracha & the Baleada: Baleada -- roughly translated - a Honduran (person). Here the tostada is a double fried corn tortilla with refried beans, and crumbled farmers cheese. I have never had a fried corn tostada so decadently crispy-fried. I literally said " oh my gawd" when I took my first bite. The Baleada was soft and pillowy on the inside and was just the right amount of pan-crisp on the outside. The avocado, beans, cheese, egg, and crema just complemented one another, nothing overwhelmed anything else in flavor or texture. Perfect balance.“

“Fantastic food, no-frills spot and reasonable prices. The pupusa revuelta and pupusa de frijol were both generously stuffed and absolutely delicious. I loved the equally generous portion of cabbage slaw with it, which was nice and tangy, perfectly cutting through the rich and cheesy pupusa.Be prepared to speak some Spanish (as with many spots in this neighbourhood). Will definitely be back on the next rainy day for another pick-me-up.“

“I lived in DC for 19 years and those years I came to the mill, it has been the worst experience in these years thanks to the bartender, if they call that a bartender, I will not say more out of respect or mention names but a waitress who only save to open serveszas tell someone with Fifteen years of experience as a cocktail maker and mixologist that I don't know and that I'm ignorant hahhahaha sorry but you're wrong apart from the terrible service they gave me,“

“Mixed bag: dinner food was great (best Guac I've had in DC actually and birria de res soup was filling and bountiful). The service was also very good and attentive, and the music in the patio was perfect. I really liked a lot about the place, so it was a bummer that the patio is littered with trash and looks pretty scrappy -- it and the bathroom could use some regular TLC. If they got someone to keep the space spruced up, their food was good enough to compete with other popular Mexican spots in the city. Second what everyone says about the habanero sauce. Delish!“

Tacos

“The food is good- plentiful portion on both burrito and quesadilla and basically tasted like a home cooked meal. There are no menus other than the large one posted on the wall (without prices) and can/bottled soda/water were only accessed individually from the upright cooler. Chips and salsa were not served - maybe that's a more authentic experience? Also would have enjoyed a margarita but no alcoholic beverages available. Total bill for 2 entrees and sodas was $27 so not exactly cheap for lunch and such limited options but food was really good.“

“Decided on this spot for takeout lunch today and was not disappointed. I got the chicken burrito platter for $17. Hearty meal with all the sides. The burrito had a nice cheesey sauce on the actual burrito which was different. Make it super moist. Seemed pretty quiet in both the restaurant and carry out section. Would deff recommend to give it a try if your in mount pleasant.“
