The three course meal at $46 is good value (though it has increased in price over that time) Because it is not too noisy it is a great place for dinner when you want to talk to your dinner companions. “Classic Seafood. Have never had any issues with food quality. The portions have not changed the entire time I have eaten here. The prices have gone up a $2.00-$3.00 dollars for the Shrimp. Only change is they used to offer a smaller option kind of a lunch size for dinner, but don’t anymore. One of the only places in town that the price reflects the serving size left in Gainesville. You will leave full. Dating myself here, but have been coming to this place for 15 years. My Granny and Dad loved coming here. Many family birthday celebrations. Service can be hit or miss as far as personality , but you see the hustle and effort that most of them have. They are working and not on their phones or just standing around.Kid-friendliness: Never had an issue with my kids and service.“

“Lots of fresh fish and shrimp, homemade fish dips and crackers, homemade crab cakes and soups, pantry items such as hushpuppy and cornbread mixes, hot sauces and spices as well as a cooked food menu of grilled and fried daily specials and sides. They also will cook whatever fresh fish you purchase for a small fee. Their staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I really appreciate that it is a locally owned business. Definitely the place to go to buy good, fresh fish.“

“My husband thoroughly enjoyed his lobster. I had the cedar plank scallops and, although I wasn’t a big fan of the seasoning, they were very nice. (I scraped some of the seasoning off the top.) The cheesy grits and vegetable medley were wonderful. We took advantage of the BOGO entree deal so, my meal was free! We arrived in time to also take advantage of happy hour for our drinks. The band that was playing was excellent, our server - Tally - was delightful, and we met some lovely people and dogs there (we were sitting outside). It was a very nice experience.“
