“JL’s has been a staple to my Navy family since the early seventies. We moved from Guantánamo Bay Cuba to Jacksonville.. Dad 95 years old and I had another great dinner! Liz, took care of us tonight, she went over and beyond the call of duty! I told her I wanted to get a new t-shirt when we finished dinner. We place our order and next thing I know she brings out several T-shirts for me to choose from! That’s, that extra little touch that goes a long way!”

The warmth of Indian hospitality is truly delightful. Our waiter, Akhil, is exceptional—his attentive and meticulous service stands out every time. The restaurant consistently maintains a pristine, fresh, and elegantly appointed atmosphere. Akhil and the manager went above and beyond to make our anniversary unforgettable. They surprised us with a scrumptious slice of mango cheesecake, adorned with a candle, and handed me a lighter to ignite it and mark the occasion! How thoughtful is that? “Amazing evening out. Everyone was so friendly as you entered the restaurant. It started with one of the best pomegranate martinis I ever had. Our server Jessica was excellent and all the servers that came to the table paid attention to detail. The most impressive part of the evening was the impeccable style of chef Justin. We had the 6 courses chef’s adventure tasting menu and I cannot say enough about the cuisine. The harmony of flavors and the mastery of technique with the plating presentation was magnificent. The chef came to the table to explain each plate that was presented. He’s very knowledgeable regarding the dishes he prepares and you could see his personality come through in the way the dishes were plated and the flavors that came through with each plate. With the cuisine Justin is preparing this restaurant could be a Michelin star restaurant in notime. By the way I am gluten free so the chef had to make changes to my dishes only. I cannot say enough on how much we enjoyed the entire evening. We will definitely be visiting Matthew’s again.”

“We visited River & Post last night for the first time for a birthday dinner after hearing so many good things, and I can honestly say the praise was very well deserved. Everything from the quality and timeliness of our meals to the friendly, informative and attentive servers were exceptional, which sadly is not a common trait in upscale restaurants. I had the Broiled Ocean Platter which consisted of broiled mahi, three sea scallops and four large shrimp served in a citrus herb beurre blanc sauce, whipped potatoes and beautiful crisp tender veggies. All of my entre ingredients were cooked perfectly, the buttery lemon sauce was such a nice compliment to this dish and let all the distinct flavors of each seafood component shine. Too often sauces can be overpowering and used to moisten overcooked and flavorless seafood. I’m glad I opted out of a predinner salad or appetizer as this entre is very substantial and I wanted to save some room for dessert. My husband also very much enjoyed his choice of the Seared Filet Mignon served a mustard demi-glace, confit potatoes and sauteed broccolini. The steak was perfectly prepared to his medium rare request and he raved about how flavorful it was. Both of our meals arrived hot, beautifully plated, and we devoured them completely. Then the decision came for dessert. Since we were sharing, we opted for the wonderfully decadent Chocolate Mousse Torte. This torte could easily be called “Death by Chocolate” due to its intense deep chocolate flavor which had a more silken fudge like consistency than a typical fluffy mousse, but still seemed surprisingly light as the chocolate just melted in our mouths. The torte was served with a chocolate drizzle, freshly whipped cream and plump blackberries. What a wonderful finish to this birthday dinner! Thank you, R&P, for this great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back, and we won’t be waiting for the next birthday to do so.”

“This place is fantastic - it is small but mighty. We had a 20-25 minute wait but it was worth it and we aren’t locals but were in Middleburg visiting a family member this weekend. The food and frozen margaritas were fabulous but what really stood out was the service. I want to give a huge shout out to our server, Olivia, as she really went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. She had no clue that our cousin’s husband passed away earlier in the week and that this was the first time she has been out for a meal without him - she was very emotional and sad but she wanted a frozen margarita so when all of us family members arrived in the area- that’s what she was getting. Olivia was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of and we appreciated it tremendously. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and the portion sizes are huge - the beef tip burritos and quesadillas are delicious and we would get those again every time. Best wishes for this business and they are going to have to expand eventually with what they have to offer!”

The staff at seasons 52 town center Jacksonville Florida was amazing and accepted the situation as if he was there! “We had 2 pm reservations on Thanksgiving Day and were surprised only a short wait to be seated. We spend every holiday here and have always loved every aspect of our dining experience. Things started off great but within fifteen minutes we were surrounded by a large party of 20 which seemed to take all the servers attention and the Gauchos never had any meats left by time they got into the back corner where we were. We finally flagged down our waiter (I believe his named was Marcus or Morgan) he was amazing he got meats to our table and apologized profusely-he was a gem. We are in the business so we made the best of the situation. Upon leaving we were walking to our car and I mentioned that next visit we would not choose a holiday but maybe a weeknight and a young manager heard me and immediately called us over and we explained. He knew exactly where we had been sandwiched in and he took the time to rectify the situation and I have to say he was amazing-problem solved and what a professional staff all around! Hats off to the manager-real professional!”

“I know this isn't a local joint, but it was late and local options were slim at the time. I wanted to send a shout out to Waffle House on Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville for an excellent experience last night. We walked in for a late dinner at 10 minute to 9. They were packed and short staffed. We grabbed the only open table and the shift leader (manager?), who was also cooking, brought our drinks and took our order, advising that it may be a wait. While we were there, 4 staff members that had been called in to help showed up and went right to work. They were a well oiled machine, continually checking on all of the tables, apologizing for the wait, and thanking everyone for their patience. We got our food and left within an hour. If we had gone to the IHOP 2 doors down, we would have still been waiting for our food (even in the best of times.) I know times are tough for the service industry right now, but these ladies and gentlemen handled it with grace and efficiency. I tipped 50% of the bill, and would have done much more if I could have.”

“Honestly, this Whataburger location delivers the best customer service I’ve experienced at any food establishment. I stop by often in the mornings, and every employee consistently greets me with warmth and a smile. The thoughtful gesture of handing the bag off with two hands is such a small detail, but it really makes a difference.

The food is always made to order, hot, and fresh. I’ve never had anything less than an excellent experience here. On one occasion, I accidentally placed my order at the wrong location, but the staff here handled it quickly and without any issues.

Everything about this place was pretty much like any restaurant we have eaten at. But, the service is what separates one location from another. Our server Matt was the point man on this and he has it in spades. He never missed a beat. He gave his real recommendations on what dishes are good and which ones are great. He kept our glasses filled, constantly making sure our table was clean. Always stopping by to make sure we were fine without being overbearing. He paid close attention to what everyone (we were a table of 8) wanted. And the whole time he smiled and presented himself as someone who loves their job. I would go back to Cajun Crab just for him. Howies’ owner is scrimping and saving for a place to show off his food, if he can keep thieves from steeling his equipment. I for one is rooting for him and hope to see his establishment upgrade soon. From first contact through set up Aaron the manager and Sonny the owner handled the event like it was a white glove gala. Their communication was on point leaving no room for worries. Everything arrived hot, smelling delicious and set up with care. We ordered 1x Full Pan of Vale Rice 1x Full Pan of Cilantro lime Brown Rice and beans 1x Full Pan of Chipotle Mac n Cheese ( twice baked with extra cheese topped ) 1x Full Pan of Spinach and Arugula Salad 1x Full Pan of Baja Summer Kale Salad 1x Full Pan of Roasted Broccoli 1x Full Pan of Turmeric Onions and Peppers 2x Full Pan of BBQ Chicken 2x Full Pan of Turkey Spinach Feta Meatballs 2x Chipotle Ranch 2x Vale Vinaigrette 1x full pan of Almond Butter protein Brownies 20x white chocolate macadamia cookies 20x chocolate chip cookies. The meatballs are so yummy as well as the brownies. Everything was scrumptious and so fresh. I look forward to the opportunity to work with them again on my next event.”

Highlights were the BBQ pork rice noodles, milk tea, chicken wings, wonton soup, and the fried rice. Most of the dumplings were pretty good too. The white chocolate and dark chocolate panda/teddy bear buns were delicious. The staff were very nice, attentive, and the food came out pretty quickly, even though there was a line out the door most of the time we were there. Wish we lived closer, but we'll definitely be making a trip to come back soon.”

“I’m from out of town and stay in the Baymeadows area for 2 extended periods during the calendar year. Metro Diner Southside has been my go-to breakfast stop for the past 6 years. The staff is so much fun to deal with, and it’s flattering to know that they recognize me whenever I stop in. The usual fare for me is standard food (omelettes/fried egg, meat, hash browns, toast); however, today’s choice was the pork chop & eggs special. Thoughts? This needs to be placed on the regular menu. Wow! The pork chop was “over-the-top” delicious and was a perfect match with the other items on my plate (OE eggs/HBs/biscuit). I’m hoping (praying?) that this dish stays on the specials list through this weekend! Special shoutouts to my 3 favorite servers (Rachel, Jacklyn, & Monica-all in a tie for 1st place) and to today’s greeter (whose name I can’t recall and apologize for that). All of them are friendly, efficient, and lots of fun to chat with. Keep up the great work. See y’all over the weekend!”

“It's all about Matt! Food: My husband and I had Fried Catfish and Cajun fries. Great! Place: Very nice. Pleasant atmosphere. Service: Extraordinary! Server: Matt. This is where I get into details. Everything about this place was pretty much like any restaurant we have eaten at. But, the service is what separates one location from another. Our server Matt was the point man on this and he has it in spades. He never missed a beat. He gave his real recommendations on what dishes are good and which ones are great. He kept our glasses filled, constantly making sure our table was clean. Always stopping by to make sure we were fine without being overbearing. He paid close attention to what everyone (we were a table of 8) wanted. And the whole time he smiled and presented himself as someone who loves their job. I would go back to Cajun Crab just for him. “Years sago, my wife & I tried this specific location twice. We're usually "3-strike" people but the experience was so bad. they got 3 strikes in two visits! For this Thanksgiving, we decided to take my wife's mom but this was the only location we could get a reservation. We were reluctant to go but some friends of ours had been recently and said it had changed a lot... positively. Man has it changed! The GM, Mark, came by and spent some time talking with us. He has done an awesome job in turning things around! The food and service was excellent and the place was cheerful. We had to do a double take just to be certain we were at the same place. Our server, Ms Frenchy, was amazing! She was friendly, engaging and fully involved with providing us with grade a service and a contagious smile. Their dishes are really fresh, they taste great, and the portions are very good and affordable. I would also like to recognize Jacobo (owner), he is one the most wonderful, pleasant individuals, I have ever met.
