“3.5 starsWow. I had not expected a sushi restaurant inside of a Bravo supermarket. Got a volcano roll with imitation crab inside and on top ($12) and a Snow White one and both were quite good. The snow White is a larger sized roll with both shrimp tempura and imitation crab inside ($14). The rolls are made as you wait and are brought out to the seat you're in if you are eating there. Sadly the volcano roll's topping was only imitation crab with no scallop pieces in it. Tasty but could have been more if it had been made with the scallops as well.After several hours I have an odd aftertaste which I cannot pinpoint. Usually it's the vinegar rice that leaves that sensation in my taste buds but I think this time it was the layer of cream cheese. Service was good and quick.“

I called, ordered the Crunch Roll, Volcano Roll, and Crabmeat Salad to go. 20 minutes later I picked it up. The Crunch Roll almost didn't make it home, I was devouring it in the car. “I have a disabled brother-in-law who was down from New York to visit, and I wanted to take him out for drinks. So, decided to stop into the Tavern because I had frequented their place for the past several years and have never been let down. Well, when we went in, the entire staff treated us like royalty. It can be hard with my brother-in-law because we never know how people will respond to him, but the team at the Tavern were amazing! We had a great time, and not only was the staff awesome, but the clientele was equally as amazing. By the time was left there, we were so relaxed and so grateful because of the service we received, but also because of the humanity that existed in this great local tavern. This is one place that I would recommend that anyone looking for a drink, a snack, or for some great new friends to visit. “Great place for sushi and other dishes. We went on a Saturday night and it was full but they had room at the bar and that is where we sat. From the bar had a nice view of all the sushi being prepared and has room for many plates. We ordered two rolls and two dishes. Everything was great from the food to the service and the inside dining decor. We all enjoyed sharing and trying new tasty treats here. All the staff were helpful and attentive even on a very busy night. We left happy and fulfilled.Parking: Parking lot is free and is right in front of Makado Sushi.“

My brother got the pork broth for his soup while I got kimchi. We got wonderful proteins and veggies for both hot pot and KBBQ. We also got quite a lot of sushi, sashimi and other meal makings such as lettuce, onion, pepper, kimchi, and edamame. They had the largest selection of proteins I have seen on a self serve bar or even in restaurants where it’s not self serve. I think the only place o have seen more protein selections is Gyu Kaku (which is not really the sake category restaurant). We had wine, we have boba, we had water. We ate, we drank, we enjoyed.“

I have celebrated bachelorettes, birthdays and solo nights here and enough cannot be said for the level of service the chefs and staff offer every single patron. The intimacy of the venue and the limit of the time and size of parties is perfect for this experience. If you want you can enjoy on your own or engage with the parties around you quite easily. The quality and preparation of the sushi is exceptional every time I visit.Try everything on the menu at least once, as I have, it will expand your sushi vocabulary. And if you have any room, do not skip the miso soup and dessert. The matcha s’more is incredible if it is still available. Also, you cannot beat the price for the experience, it’s not cheap at all, but I will dare to say it’s on the level of some Omakase experiences but at a better value.“
