“We arrived at 4:20 to avoid long waiting which happens here; no reservations accepted. Drinks came fast as did our appetizers of blackened grouper bites which were delicious. I tried Triple tail for the first time and I am hooked and can't wait to order again. Other dinners ordered were the mahi tacos and grouper tacos as well as the shrimp burger. Everyone was super satisfied with their meals. The music which started at 5:30 was also outstanding. We usually eat here one a season and it's always one of our top places to go.“

“A good place to have lunch in Matlacha. It can be a little hit or miss with the quality varying between good and very good. If the weather is nice it's fantastic to eat on their outside deck. There's a decent amount of parking at the restaurant but on a busy day it can be a challenge to find a place to park.Update 5 years later (original review 2018): Still an excellent choice for lunch or dinner if you're visiting Matlacha or Pine Island (or just want to drive over from Cape Coral or Ft. Myer). If you've never had mullet before, try their Mullet Sampler Platter. You'll be amazed. It's listed as a "Starter" on the menu but it's enough to be an entree, and every bite of it is delicious: smoked mullet dip, blackened mullet (incredible), and fried mullet.“

We were a group of 12 but were split into a table for eight and one of four but we were informed of this in advance.Everything was top notch. Our server was very attentive yet we were not rushed. Our meals were beautifully presented and where applicable prepared as requested (steaks were perfect). There are many gluten free options and a few vegetarian options as well.The pianist, Scott, was the perfect touch to a relaxed atmosphere.There is a full bar and an extensive wine selection.The handicap lift was not working but there is a scissor lift in the back that was able to accommodate members of our group who could not navigate the stairs. Big plus that the owners had this available.It’s pricey but well worth the visit. I look forward to visiting again.“

“I have been here multiple times and it never disappoints! I first found Terra Nostra about 2 years ago now and it has become our favorite spot to eat in the Fort Myers area! The service has never disappointed us and we have NEVER eaten ANY bad food there. The only thing negative thing about this restaurant is that it occasionally gets so loud in the building that it makes it difficult to carry on a conversation with the person you’re eating with. “If you want shrimp sold by the pound dockside, this is the place to go to. The sales lady that helped us told us that the shrimp boats go out a month at a time, and they immediately freeze the catch onboard. Since I've previously purchased shrimp from a dock before, deheading and cleaning them wasn't a problem. You can buy a 5-pound bag (frozen) in several sizes or by the pound. Everything is weighed and packaged in a plastic bag for you to take home. Since the hurricane in 2022, this business is coming back and we saw the signs posted on the streets nearby. If you want to clean shrimp for your meal this place offers it. However you do end up with lots of waste - our 2 pound purchase ended up with about a pound of cleaned shrimp, so it's not for everyone. But it sure tasted great!!“

But, there were many bees, no air conditioning, and an "eh" vibe to it. ?. 3 of us got the pulled pork. It was quite dry and in clumps. But, still great tasting. The potato salad was amazing ?! The beans..... Were interesting....Tasting.....A bit spicy And thick....But good ??.....We got there and the entrance was through back which had many wasps flying around. We had to walk through the whole building through the back just to get to the register, where you order and pay at the same place/time. The whole building had a very interesting vibe......it was quite expensive as well. For 3 pulled pork sandwiches ? (each with a side), a brisket sandwich ?, a meal of brisket with a side, 2 beers, and 2 waters, it was $91.85!!!“

“Found this gem today on pine island and man is it worth the stop. Perfectly cooked shrimp with generous portions make this place my favorite for shrimp tacos. It’s a bit hidden so you’ll have to keep an eye out but the shrimp here are awesome as the name suggests. Not on the cheap side but nothing is anymore and I don’t mind paying for quality. Limited seating area outside is the only downside but I’m sure that will change once people find this place.“
