“This place was already awesome....but they delivered an extra sauce for aguachile that was missing from the order. One of the cooks personally delivered the missing sauce on Superbowl Sunday! Excellent customer service, wish I could give more stars!“
“Great service, exceptional sushi! Always fresh. We usually get take out because their dine in area is on the smaller side, but either way, it's an amazing experience eating in or taking out. Our favorite rolls are "hamachi machi" & "dancing shrimp"“
“I've tried this place several times and finally got a chance to write a review. I've always ordered the 2-choice(combination) Teishoku and tried different kinds of items. After every visit, I must say, everything was good! The quality and presentation is top notch. This time, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Mini Chirashi combination. The chicken was excellent. It was soft, and the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful, not overwhelming. The mini Chirashi (which was an extra charge of $4) came with ahi, salmon, shrimp, tako, and ika. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially when slightly dipped in wasabi/shoyu sauce. Tan ordered the combination salmon and spicy ahi. I had a piece of salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. The Spicy Ahi(another extra charge of $3) was also flavorful. It was more on the creamy side than on a chunky side. Both combinations were served with miso soup and a bowl of greens. Hot tea was also included. The only downside of all my visits was that they always ran out of Ahi Tempura. We came in 15 minutes after opening at 5:15 pm, and it was sold out 5 minutes prior. Hot item!! I would have given them a 4 star, but the food quality and customer service were superior. It made up for that star. It was so good we made a salmon takeout order for tomorrows lunch.“
“I gave 5 stars for the atmosphere because it's fun to watch all the workers in action. There is almost always a line out the door, but it moves fast and most definitely worth it. I get the spicy ahi tempura poke bowl usually, although this time I got the new seared ahi on greens and it was delicious! I had to get a seafood veggie tempura on the side. I never leave without at least one. So ono!“
“Stopped by here on a whim after a (disappointing) Skyline ride, highlight of my layover!Unko Steve is a generous man, we almost got full just from the samples alone!Highly recommend any of the savory, fried manupuas. The pork hashs are dimsum restaurant-quality!“
“Love the food and service here! I can definitely say with confidence that I come here at least once a week. Food is always on point and the service never disappoints. Also, love that the food is usually within 15 minutes. If you're hungry, go for one of their two choice combos. My favorite is the kalbi and zucchini Jun. My top picks are either Mandoo guk sop or the yukgaejang (spicy beef and vegetable soup). They use real fernbrake in the soup.“
“Are you looking for some killer poke? Look no further. This is my favorite spot to grab takeaway poke on Oahu. This isn’t exactly the best choice for a dine-in option, but it’s amazing. Aaaaamazing. You definitely need to try the Ahi Limu - there is a reason it’s a local favorite. The Ahi Shoyu is also worth a sample.I’ve yet to find flavors anywhere else on the island that can rival their creamy wasabi ahi. It has just the right amount of heat and the creamy sauce offsets it beautifully. Your tongue will literally throw a party in your mouth and you will question how you will ever enjoy any other bowl of poke again now that you’ve tasted the best.If I could give this poke ten stars I would.Parking: Parking is a bit limited so during lunch or dinner rush, there could be a wait to get in. It’s worth it though! To beat the wait, try to get there before busiest hours.“
“Food fiend did a vlog few months ago on Catania Waimalu. Thanks Misty?when I went in after 12:30 I must've of missed the crowd inside and take out .Taste ? portion size ?can diffently do family style so you can try more options. Place is clean and tables not crowed together . Linda very nice❤ will be back to try out more menu choices. Lilikoi cheesecake delish ...maybe slice could be a little more BUT then again with the portion size of meal it may just be right amt. I had Spaghetti w/ meat sauce and order of garlic bread...if you a bread eater maybe 2 orders? check them out!Parking: waimalu always busy but people are picking up lunch and leaving so there's always someone leaving“
“You can also eat in the store, but they give you food in disposable containers. After ordering, it was so large that I had no choice but to go, so it was convenient for customers. I ordered one serving of the special set and kimchi pancake, and 2 adults and a 3-year-old child ate it together. I packed the leftover rice and side dishes well and was able to eat until breakfast. When you order a dish, you can choose four side dishes, including kimchi, seasoned seaweed, stewed potatoes, japchae, seasoned bean sprouts, seasoned cabbage, etc. All four we chose were delicious and both the ribs and kimchi pancakes were excellent restaurants. It was the most cost-effective and satisfying meal during my trip to Hawaii?“
“Never heard of this place until my boyfriend told me about it. This is where he orders all his seafood from. During the pandemic, he always got his hamachi and oysters from Seafood Connection. Their prices are fair depending on what you're ordering. Their seafood is so fresh even after it being previously frozen. This place is located in the warehouses at Kaakako. Ordering is all done online and you set up a pickup date and time. I recommend if you have gatherings check out Seafood Connection.“
“The food is great and the owners are even better. They have a lemon cream pasta that tastes like it should be served in a swanky fine dining rstaurant. The Kalbee is also really great. Never had a bad lunch from there. Highly recommend. Support Local!!!!“
“Good place to get a bite during your work lunch hour. Service was quick, tentative and waitress was awesome. Food comes out pretty quick as well. Good thing when you have to work, bad thing, after eating, that it makes you want to comatose. LOL!“
“It was our 19 anniversary date that we finally got a chance to have with our children finally all in school. It was our first time at Roy's in Koolina for both myself and my wife and I have to say it was amazing. The food was broke the mouth amazing as well as the the drinks that we ordered. The service was great as well our server Robin . She was just very interactive and very professional she made our first visit top notch. It's funny to me because we both never got to celebrate or go anywhere without our kids that we were nervous and forgot how to actually have a date. But today's date was just what we needed. My wife got all teary eyed towards the end of our date and I almost joined her. She melted my heart. It was a very romantic moment for the both of us. We highly recommend going to Roy's in Koolina to anyone and everyone to have that experience we shared there together.“
“Favorite pho place on the island. Friendly staff with timely service. We’re always satisfied when we come here. I love the tofu pho with a side of meatball and a piece of French bread with their housemade butter. The chili garlic dipping sauce is also my all time favorite!“
“Great selection and quality ingredients. Highly recommend the fish ball w roe and the tribe. Smacked. My fav broth is tom yum and seafood broth. Service was very present and took away used dishes quickly so we could eat mo. Very cozy feeling place that will warm ya soul“
“This was a gem that I'm extremely glad I visited. I ate here twice over the week, as it was very affordable and extremely delicious. Each meal was between $20 and $30 with tip. They do not serve alcohol or even Saki, however the Airport 7 store next door does.I did take out each time. The Miso soup was fantastic. The service was very quick, and the prices were far cheaper than I would expect for fresh sushi in Hawaii.“
“I go to this place for fresh oysters and love crab, lobster, clams, etc. Prices are fair and service is great. I also get mussels, baby octopus, and squid. Check their hours of operation. You need to call ahead for the live seafood so they reserve it for you.“
“This place exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was great but not overcrowded for a Friday night dinner.Fried pickles: Spears came out hot and delicious. Only complaint, was the price (roughly $11 for 6 spears)The kids mac & cheese I would eat, it was a generous portion and it was really good (fully expected generic store bought)My wife had the brisket which was fantastic and I got the shrimp & grits which was equally as delicious. We will definitely be coming backKid-friendliness: We came with 3 kids (ages 3 months -6), for a restaurant with a bar as soon as you walk in it was pretty mild. We walked in first to check it out before unloading the car. Standard kids menu and crayons“
“Book ahead and get there by 8:00!Great fish. So delicious after the long flights that day, it being so close to the airport was a big bonus.Recommended!Parking: A few spots out front but deeply annoying. The ‘hood it’s in means lots of restrictions, driveways for commercial businesses, so … bring your island patience.“
“Poke is popular in Hawaii that I will have Everytime I visit here. This shop is right across the Aulani Disney Resort that we can walk over in 10-15 minutes after a conference. We were looking for dinner & this seems a convenient location but we saw no customer inside. Just gave it a try.Disregard the price, we really enjoy what we had ordered. They put thousand island dressing to our poke bowl. Perhaps we should have asked for teriyaki soy sauce instead next time. Poke are fresh and taste real good. That filled up our tummies. We love them!“
“Its not a dine in place. Stop, pay and pick up your order place. But the food is phenomenal. I bought the guava chicken, hamburger plate combo for a friend’s birthday. He ate then fell asleep, haha! Das how u know its ono! Food is always good there. Good prices too.Parking: Better to get dropped off. If park in front at bus stop make sure you are near your car so no get ticket. Otherwise parking is almost non existent but the best places never have parking!“
“Wanted to try something I never had before, and saw the good reviews on Yelp so I decided to stop in. This place appears to be on the newer side and was very clean. I dropped over $80 ordering a Kalbi/shrimp combo plate, a 1/2 pound of FTW poke, a 1/2 pound of ginger/scallion poke, and the inari bomb variety pack. The pokes were okay. Definitely good quality fish but the flavors were just okay. The Kalbi and shrimp was good, with no shortage of garlic. But the winner was hands down the inari pack. All were great flavor combos but the spicy tuna inari was the best. I saw that they also sold packs of all spicy tuna inari, so would probably get that next time. Prices were a bit steep. However, service was top notch professional. I especially appreciated the cook who agreed to make my plate despite that it was technically still breakfast time, and that they normally didn't start making those till later. Would definitely come here again.“
“Koromo,This is the second time you’ve done this. First time was just three weeks ago. You need to provide utensils and napkins with your takeout orders! I ordered through DoorDash and the app does not have a utensils and napkins option for your restaurant. For the price I pay, you should automatically add napkins and utensils for ALL takeout orders! Don’t assume everyone is ordering from home. A lot order from work for lunch and I cannot eat your curry because I do not have a spoon at work. Lastly, the food was good as usual but your rice sucked today.*Updated my review because the owner/manager replied promptly with an explanation and apology which I greatly respect and appreciate.“
“I love Da Hub! Uncle Steven always has ono grinds and makes everything with a smile. He is a creative, always making lots of different food creations. He also has delicious sashimi party platters and poke by the pound available. I have visited his food truck and pop-ups over the past couple years. I also went to pick up sashimi from him at his store front in Kalihi for NYE. Luckily I scored parking right in front of the store that day. He was doing a deal for the holidays where you can buy a sashimi platter for $75 and get a pound of poke for free. In these times, that deal is GREAT! His fresh poke and sashimi was so ono. I was talking stories with him and he ended up throwing in another pound of poke for us! He's THE BEST. Note: if you are able to, please consider tipping, even on takeout! It's not expected, but i love supporting small businesses in whatever way i can, especially during these times. You can order by calling him or messaging him on Instagram. So easy. He is busy, but responsive.Cheers to Da Hub! Be sure to visit them at one of their pop-ups or at their Kalihi storefront!!“
“Solid spot! I wanted to get some fish to make a poke bowl and saw this location so decided to swing in. Lots of options from ahi, oysters, crab meat, salmon, etc. They were busy with plenty of customers picking up their pre-orders but they moved so quick. Very efficient!“
“For a place that’s in the top 20 of Yelp Hawaii’s best places to eat, I expected a bit more. For reference, I think that Fresh Catch has better plate lunches.I got the famous crab stuffed ahi and my friend got the kukui ahi belly. The taste of the ahi roll was ok but there was a strong taste of wasabi. The ahi belly definitely could have used the help of a sauce, but the sauce they give you has an even stronger wasabi flavor.Prices are ok for a seafood plate lunch but portion sizes could have been larger.Overall I thought it would have been better if wasabi was served on the side for everything.“
“While not as iconic (i.e mainly a tourist attraction) as "Duke's Waikiki" further down the road.Nico's Pier 38 is where locals who know go for fresh caught seafood and steaks. Also without the tourist surcharge. The Ahi was delish - love the Angry Ahi Dip - it was similar to a Salmon dip but with a Hawai'ian twist. The fried wontons were crispy and crunchy- so satisfying. The pan seared Ahi was probably an 8 out of 10.“
“The pocket bread with homemade garlic hummus was a delightful start to a great meal. The beet salad was refreshing and delicious, my wife and I split a NY strip , half lobster and six shrimp as entree all were wonderfully prepared and tasty. As sides we chose broccoli with slightly spicy kick as well as the extremely plentiful Lobster mashed potatoes. We finished it off with with warm malasadas with salted caramel or guava jam for dipping. It was an excellent meal and of course a beautiful location on lagoon.“
“Food is delicious! The scallop pappardelle was delectable! And braised short rib huge! And fork tender. Salmon lollipops I probably could make a better dish? but everything cooked just right with balanced seasoning and not over salted. Although pricey for what you get compared to higher excellent places in Vancouver BC or other places in the mainland but I’d return to try other dishes but not as often as I would many places in BC!“
“Okay $44.95 AYCE. Yep you read that right. Been to other AYCE sushi. Buy there was always restrictions. Only restrictions here is that every one on table must order AYCE. ANYTHING on the menu was available. Including ikura, Hamachi and unagi. Sashimi was no problem. Edamae was also included. AC worked good here Brrrr. But I like the cold. This is gonna top my AYCE sushi list They never restricted my orders, but reminded be about anything I didn't eat would be at ala carte prices“
