“Wanted to support the local food trucks and glad we did....I had the bean chimichanga and it was big! Filled with beans and cheese...but you can definitely get meat of your choice. My friend had the steak street tacos and said they were delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They definitely showed Aloha! We passed by this food truck a few times and glad we stopped to have a bite. If you are wanting Mexican food, definitely give it a try!“
“TLDR: 10/10 recommend the Carne Asada burrito and Carne Asada Quesadilla.Wanted to wait until I was able to visit a few times before making a review. But this place has some of the best burritos in town. 10/10 would recommend if visiting from the west coast and wanting that authentic style burritos. Also they have great homemade salsas to choose from that pair very well with each dish. Also highly recommend the quesadillas if you aren’t in the mood for a burrito.Parking: I recommend parking in the Whole Foods parking lot and walking across the street.“
“Get the fries.I mean, get anything it’s all good, but get the fries. I don’t think I’ve had better fries on island. The stuff is super friendly and funny. I usually just order and run off, but I actually stick around a lot here.Definitely recommend!“
“Blondie's is the best vegan restaurant on island in my opinion. It's the most similar to vegan comfort food that can be found in places like Portland and is really unlike any other food available on O'ahu. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is always top notch (Cybil is the absolute sweetest!). The restaurant is run by a mother-daughter duo and my heart is warmed every time I think of this. Even my non-vegan friends and family enjoy the food! Blondie's also happens to make my favorite smoothie of all time—the pipeline paradise. I have something of a smoothie obsession and I literally dream of this smoothie constantly. Highly recommend giving Blondie's a try!“
“Excellent food truck serving wagyu steak located on the side road beside the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach hotel. The steak plate with rice is awesome and highly recommended. The steak is nicely grilled, tasty and tender. The people working the truck are very nice.“
“So this place is super close to my condo so I asked my two friends if they'd like to check it out. Oahu is just generally so behind when it comes to quality Mexican food but I had high hopes. Anyway, ordered the three tacos with beans and rice. Two shredded beef and one chicken. The shredded beef tacos were on point, really delicious. The chicken taco was good but not quite as good as the beef. Whole pinto beans, very tasty. Sadly the rice wasn't so good, definitely lacking flavor but mixed with the beans okay. Overall, I was surprised. I've eaten Mexican food all over California, LA, San Diego etc and this was good. The tall guy taking orders I think could have been a bit friendlier, he seemed a little annoyed by some questions I had about the menu. So that and the rice knocked my rating from 5 to 4“
“favorite poke spot to go to when i visit waikiki (i go multiple times each trip!). i like the spicy ahi and shrimp - regular size is a good portion. can do the large portion and would have leftovers. lady who works at the truck is very sweet and friendly.“
“It was good but not our fav place for poke. The rice was gluggy, and the tuna didn’t taste as fresh. Maybe it was an off day but maybe the main branch is better? Also tried their ube cookie gelato which was good. It’s very quiet at this location with plenty of free parking. There are two tables with benches to eat at as well.“
“This is the best burger place!!! The very first bite you take is delightful, greasy heaven! I had the Aloha burger, and my friend had the Western BBQ burger. The service was super fast (within minutes) and they were really friendly and answered every question we had with a smile! We both enjoyed every bite~ Highly recommend stopping by if you find yourself near Lewers st in Waikiki. It's a food truck with a few tables outside to eat.“
“Located in The Heart of China Town in Honolulu, we stumbled across Irie Jerk, a Jamaican Restaurant. In about a month we must have visited at least five times. The Mash Potatoes are the best I’ve tasted anywhere, Finger licking Good. We also tried the Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken and Curry Goat, all served with a choice of rice and peas ,cabbage, Mac and cheese, are all delicious. Not only is the food excellent, the owner Cadeen and the staff are pleasant and courteous. I look forward to my next visit. If you are in Honolulu, please stop by Irie Jerk, you won’t be disappointed.“
“My boyfriend and I ate here more than any other place both of our visits to the island. I mistakenly got the Ribeye Steak and I could not believe how dang amazing it was! Happiest mistake ever and for $22 on a 10 oz? Come on! We love the outside atmosphere, so was no big deal eating outside during the day or the evening. So good, and love the staff they work very hard! Mahalo“
“Solid Mexican food. I've had a fair share of Mexican food including street food in Mexico city. Mayita's grill makes great Mexican dishes and Birria Quesadilla I ordered was delicious. I would recommend take out as the area where this is situated (it's just a small kitchen attached to a pickup truck) can be a bit sketchy, especially after sunset.“
“This is a hidden gem in an area that's going through gentrification. I visited the Milky Way Hawaii Ice food truck on a recommendation from a local. Both the Azuki Bean snow and the Baba Golden Milk drinks are hands down the best I've ever had. Why can't I get this type of quality and price in my home town of Vancouver? Highly recommended for anyone who can venture out to the food truck's location.“
“Passed by Tapas Kitchen in a hot afternoon. I was craving for a cold drink then so I decided to try mango smoothie. The smoothie is all made of fresh mango cuz I found mango pulp in it. It tastes so good and fresh. And I love its presentation. The frozen bear looks so cute on it. And probably cuz I was the only client and it was less busy then, the owner even generously offered to fill up my cup with the remaining smoothie in the blender.I will definitely come back not only for smoothies but also for food.———UpdateWas craving for some comfort food so I went today for fried chicken wings. This chicken wings exceeded my expectations. Very tasty. When I placed the order, I assumed I would get the ordinary fried chicken wings. (You know those wings sprinkled with salt and pepper.) The second I opened the container, I smelled a very nice fresh citrusy aroma from lemon zest on the chicken wings. The wings are crispy outside and tender inside. Very flavorful and not greasy at all. I really like the spices used for the wings.I would give the wing a 9/10. It would be perfect if it was a little bit more juicier. (It’s not dry at all though)“
“Such an unassuming truck I almost missed it! Only options available were half and whole, no quarter. Delicious huli huli chicken with a Peruvian twist. The chicken was charred to smoky perfection while still remained tender and juicy. The Peruvian twist were the strikingly umami, peppery, and herbaceous flavors infused in the chicken. The mustard sauce was a great addition to balance the dish's intensity with some creaminess.“
“bruh broke da Mouf!! Gotta get early. They're open 8-12 at Kaka'ako market every Saturday. We were lucky to be the last customers as they ran out!!! Delicious caramelized onions on a perfectly grilled smash burger. Truffle sauce was on point. Fries were crisp and delicious. Put this at the top of your list of "must try"“
“I love the decor of this beautiful cafe. The music was soft and soothing so I was able to focus when studying. It has a nice open feel, not overcrowded. Ordering was very easy and we received our order very quickly. The Pineapple Snow Ice was so yummy! The pineapple was fresh and the lemon jelly wasn't tart; it was just perfect. Before we left because we just had to have more, we ordered the Milk Tea Snow Ice and Wintermelon Tea with boba and grass jelly. I was pleasantly surprised that the grass jelly was not overpowering. The boba was just the perfect texture! There are so many more things I cannot wait to try on our next visit!“
“We tried Alfredo pasta( vegetarian) with the garlic bread, and I think it's the best vegetarian pasta we have tried in here. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. Thank you Hi.Shack team:)Vegetarian options: Alfredo pasta with garlic bread“
“It's probably the best lechon on da island. Wow!!!! People with loose or weak teeth beware, super crunchy skin....lol...and for $10. Wow!!! Only thing missing is mac salad....lol. Put little bit more bigger scoops rice....lol....Highly recommended!!!!“
“The BEST shawarma I have ever had!! I make it at home and can't top this. My friend who has never had shawarma said it was deliciousvand for someone who has never had Mediterranean spices, that says a lot. Absolutely a must have in Honolulu.“
“Peruvian food in Kaka'ako...Super easy to find this cute white food truck on Cooke Street right along side Mother Waldron Park every weekday (Monday thru Friday) 10am to 3pm and though I have no idea exactly what Peruvian cuisine are so I decided to check them out.Menu choices are small though each dish seems quite labor intensive with beef seems to be the protein of choice...Antichos (skewers), Hawaiian Juane (turmeric rice with teriyaki beef) and sides including empanada and Crab Causa all with pics and descriptions it's a matter of preference as each dish has some solid flavor qualities.Since I've already eaten I decided to keep it simple with an Empanada and though it's a decent size $7 is a bit leaving your wallet hungry considering just awhile ago they were selling it for $4 though generously filled with beef and various veggies which I taste potatoes, onions, roast peppers and raisins as this hearty bite is topped with huacatay sauce which was a nice herb and lime sauce that was just spectacular. The flavor explosion the put into just the empanada I can just imagine their main plates...gah!!! The gentleman was just a delight feeling on my unfamiliarity greeted with the usual "let me know if you have any questions" was just a delight asking it comes with a sauce and if I wanted it on top or the side and if I needed any utensils...all are very appreciated as I constantly leave forgetting it. Will definitely be back for their main entrees as El Gallo dishes out some serious flavors!Thank you!“
“My friends and I decided to swing by for dinner. When we showed up they warned us that since we were a bigger group (5) it would be a little bit and asked if we were okay leaving a number. They asked us if we had any food allergies, which I was shocked by, and were extremely kind. As we ordered they engaged us in conversation and over all were just so kind and attentive to our orders. We walked around for 10 minutes before they called and very excitedly told us out food was ready! When we finally chowed down the food was great! Great quality for the relatively low price ($14 for a whole meal that left me with leftovers). 10/10 absolutely would recommend.“
“One of my favorite spots to hit when I'm in Oahu! The drinks are always so good and I make a point to try a different one each time I visit. The service is always quick and they have always been very nice. If you love coffee and want to try some unique drinks, give this place a try!!“
“My favorite meal we had on the island, and at 1/2 the price of other restaurants. Highly recommend. We had three different pastas and the Caesar salad. Everything was phenomenal. Only recommendation is that they advertise the location better because we had a hard time finding it via the directions on google and Apple Maps - it was on the other side of the hotel from what maps said.“
“Food was amazing!! We are visiting from California and made this stop a priority during our vacation.SO good. Between seven of us, we tried several breakfast sandwiches, the chilaquiles burrito, the bagel with a ton of goodies, and the cinnamon sugar French toast. Plus that coconut iced latte - so incredible. We had a huge order and they got it out to us super quick. The owner came out and greeted us to check on our meal and how we were doing, the staff was super friendly and was great with recommendations for our indecisive family members, kids approved, adults approved, absolutely, hands down recommend this stop!“
“We walked from Waikiki Marriott to Diamond Head Park and then climbed it, and walked back. We stopped on the way back! And thank God for them, because it is lunch time and we are hungry. We got the hamburger steak and gravy bento box and the beef stew bento box. Both for $5. They were great. The hamburger steak, I would highly recommend. The beef stew had too fatty of meat for me. But I know a larger amount of people prefer it that way. The most expensive item was the açaí bowl. $14. It's a hulled out 1/2 or a pineapple filled with all kinds of fruit it could feed a family. We got the pineapple whip for $6.50 and then an up charge of $1 for diced pineapples to be added. It was beautiful and delicious. I wish I would have waited until after I finished my meal to order. But that's on me. People wander why we walk with hydration packs on our backs. Well, several reasons. I don't like to carry a water batter. Plus my H2O bladder holds 2 liters. And our pack holds personal items, so we can stop places like this along the way. I prefer to explore new areas on foot. Just miss to much in a car. And the truck is positioned near a public restroom!“
“Absolutely love love this place. Best Thai curry on island. I absolutely love the pad thai.. spicy of course. The veggies are crunchy, perfect portions for the price and the food is fresh. Most importantly i love the pay system. The flow is so smooth that they never have to stop to take an order as the computer system does it all. Sitting by the water, chill lights and vibe with bamboo trees is LYFE.Vegetarian options: Veggie stir fry, tofu optionsParking: Park along tbe strip next to the pier.“
“Mr. Jones is a barbecue Savant, nice clean smoke with clean bbq favor, the wood essence really soaks into the meat. Overall great pit master with amazing customer-service. The rib tips make your eyes roll back to with the tenderness in the flavor always ask for extra sauce. That joint is liquid crack! Definitely going back as soon as possible. FYI... the location is at Pearl Ridge Sears, where all the food trucks are located on the downtown side.“
“This food truck on Saturdays is a must when I'm there for farmer market tamago sandwich to there OG Katsu sandwich and and now serving there keiki hot dog Katsu with fries my kids gave them the thumbs up and that never reach the vehicle and wiped it out easy check them out good people from there service to cashier to the cooks they hold it down and keep it real and always taking there menu to new height trust me not going to be disappointed.“
“Every time I would go past this Food Truck located in the lot of Youngs Wine and Spirits on Piikoi and Kinau Streets, It will be closed. Lucky for me today they were open. I bought a Chicken Bacon Ranch Gyro. The Pita Bread was nice and soft, There was more than enough portion wisa and everything was fresh and delicious. I will definitely be a repeat customer.“
“Ordering ahead was easy. Wish they had an online ordering system with a menu though. Parking is small and easy to miss, if you made it to the ramp by 24 hour fitness... then you missed their parking lot. They have outdoor seating but it's next to a very busy street, I'd recommend just getting take and enjoying it at home. The flavors were unique and they had different types of escargot which was nice but the mango conch papaya salad was my favorite. The flavors and textures where on point for that dish. The place is a little pricey but the food is very unique. It was worth the try.“
“I was in a rush when I went after trying to go to Steve-o’s for my third time and finding them closed. So I came here and they were out of most taco fillings, such as carne asada and even potato, so I settled for three chicken tacos. They were fine but nothing super special. The salsa verde was nice. I also wish they did taco Tuesdays like other places do.“
“Back for our second visit this week, and it did not disappoint!Food was unreal! Best tacos we have had on Oahu this trip.We had the pork and chicken tacos, and the zucchini fries - cannot recommend highly enough!Well priced too!I’d post some photos, but they’re in mah belly“
