“A nice place to stop on the way to the North Shore. In addition to the restaurant, inside there is a gift shop and jewelry counters. We ordered the half chicken plate and the shell-on garlic shrimp plate, which were each $18. Chicken was cooked well and had a subtle sweet smoky flavour. I recommend the shrimp too, which were buttery, garlicky, fresh, and plentiful. The mac salad was the best I've had on this trip so far. Loved that they have lots of seating inside and big bathrooms to wash your hands before/after your meal. Will definitely come back.“

It packed a punch with a lingering burn, but not so hot it masked the other delicious flavors or made it so I couldn't breathe. I really appreciated that - it's hard to get people to believe you want it hot when you're a haoli girl.My partner got shrimp yellow curry, 5 out of 10 on the hot scale. It wasn't very spicy at all, but again SOO delicious. We will definitely be back!“

Basically it's on the corner of Kamehameha Highway and ka'ikū Road. In the mall parking lot. This location has no wait literally no lines. You must try! We got a lot and came back another day for more. My favorites are he plain and the cinnamon . My kids loved the chocolate filled. So fluffy and delicious - highly recommended!“

“So this place is super close to my condo so I asked my two friends if they'd like to check it out. Oahu is just generally so behind when it comes to quality Mexican food but I had high hopes. Anyway, ordered the three tacos with beans and rice. Two shredded beef and one chicken. The shredded beef tacos were on point, really delicious. The chicken taco was good but not quite as good as the beef. Whole pinto beans, very tasty. Sadly the rice wasn't so good, definitely lacking flavor but mixed with the beans okay. Overall, I was surprised. I've eaten Mexican food all over California, LA, San Diego etc and this was good. The tall guy taking orders I think could have been a bit friendlier, he seemed a little annoyed by some questions I had about the menu. So that and the rice knocked my rating from 5 to 4“

Double-checked to ensure we liked spicy food because the spicy sausage was indeed “en fuego”. I ordered the ribs and a sausage to try. So thankful I did. Flavor explosion and then a very nice kick. The ribs fell off the bone when I picked it up. Perfect amount of smoke, although Joe said he left them a bit too long for his own taste. Also just the right amount of BBQ sauce. Just enough that it didn’t take away from the meat flavor. Good sweetness to it. The big surprise was the coleslaw. And probably cuz I was the only client and it was less busy then, the owner even generously offered to fill up my cup with the remaining smoothie in the blender.I will definitely come back not only for smoothies but also for food.———UpdateWas craving for some comfort food so I went today for fried chicken wings. This chicken wings exceeded my expectations. Very tasty. When I placed the order, I assumed I would get the ordinary fried chicken wings. (You know those wings sprinkled with salt and pepper.) The second I opened the container, I smelled a very nice fresh citrusy aroma from lemon zest on the chicken wings. The wings are crispy outside and tender inside. Very flavorful and not greasy at all. I really like the spices used for the wings.I would give the wing a 9/10. It would be perfect if it was a little bit more juicier. (It’s not dry at all though)“

“Peruvian food in Kaka'ako...Super easy to find this cute white food truck on Cooke Street right along side Mother Waldron Park every weekday (Monday thru Friday) 10am to 3pm and though I have no idea exactly what Peruvian cuisine are so I decided to check them out.Menu choices are small though each dish seems quite labor intensive with beef seems to be the protein of choice...Antichos (skewers), Hawaiian Juane (turmeric rice with teriyaki beef) and sides including empanada and Crab Causa all with pics and descriptions it's a matter of preference as each dish has some solid flavor qualities.Since I've already eaten I decided to keep it simple with an Empanada and though it's a decent size $7 is a bit leaving your wallet hungry considering just awhile ago they were selling it for $4 though generously filled with beef and various veggies which I taste potatoes, onions, roast peppers and raisins as this hearty bite is topped with huacatay sauce which was a nice herb and lime sauce that was just spectacular. The flavor explosion the put into just the empanada I can just imagine their main plates...gah!!! The gentleman was just a delight feeling on my unfamiliarity greeted with the usual "let me know if you have any questions" was just a delight asking it comes with a sauce and if I wanted it on top or the side and if I needed any utensils...all are very appreciated as I constantly leave forgetting it. “Eggplant Parm, meatball Parm (!! with bucatini !! ) and pizza margarita made us so very happy last night. After driving by Frank's truck several times, we finally decided to give it a try last night. We have hearty appetites, but we'd been munching on appetizers all evening already, so the 4 of us decided to order 3 items and share them family style. My husband called the number that's posted on Yelp and it was answered by Kelly ... so very sweet and welcoming. She told us that we could text her our order and just come to pick it up when it was ready. This is just fantastic b/c they make your order fresh when you order, but there really isn't anywhere comfortable to wait while your order is being made. There aren't any outdoor tables or benches there, so your only options are to sit on the curb, wait in your car, or go into Creekside Bar for a drink.Being able to text in your order is such a help.We texted in our order, Kelly texted right back to confirm, gave us the total, and said it'll be ready in 20 minutes.Sure enough, when my husband went to pick it up, they were just packing it up and he was back home in a matter of minutes.Everything was piping hot and very neatly packed. The pizza margherita was super good. The crust was nice and thin and the outer edge was perfectly puffy and chewy. The eggplant and the meatball parmesan were delicious - - - my absolute favorite surprise of the night was that they used (my favorite pasta) bucatini as their pasta. A lot of full scale Italian restaurants don't even have bucatini . . . but Frank does ! ! He gets 10 stars alone just for that * * * * * * * * * *The servings were very generous and my husband is having leftovers for breakfast now as we speak.Try it - - - you won't be disappointed.“

Honolulu pineapple co Ice Cream Shop • $
Honolulu - 9.04 miles

“We walked from Waikiki Marriott to Diamond Head Park and then climbed it, and walked back. We stopped on the way back! And thank God for them, because it is lunch time and we are hungry. We got the hamburger steak and gravy bento box and the beef stew bento box. Both for $5. They were great. The hamburger steak, I would highly recommend. The beef stew had too fatty of meat for me. But I know a larger amount of people prefer it that way. The most expensive item was the açaí bowl. $14. It's a hulled out 1/2 or a pineapple filled with all kinds of fruit it could feed a family. We got the pineapple whip for $6.50 and then an up charge of $1 for diced pineapples to be added. It was beautiful and delicious. I wish I would have waited until after I finished my meal to order. But that's on me. People wander why we walk with hydration packs on our backs. Well, several reasons. I don't like to carry a water batter. Plus my H2O bladder holds 2 liters. And our pack holds personal items, so we can stop places like this along the way. I prefer to explore new areas on foot. Just miss to much in a car. And the truck is positioned near a public restroom!“

The rib tips make your eyes roll back to with the tenderness in the flavor always ask for extra sauce. That joint is liquid crack! Definitely going back as soon as possible.
