“After our first visit here with friends, we couldn’t stop talking about when we’d be back!

When we’re with a group, we like to sit at a table, but when it’s just me and my husband, the bar is our go-to spot. The servers and bartenders are always fantastic.

The oysters are fresh and delicious, and the foie gras is served just the way I love—with toast and jam.

The caesar salad is quite good, with a nice touch of pickled sardines.

So far, our favorite entrées are the burger, steak frites, and walleye.

“It's been over two weeks since my family and I visited The Polish American Bistro. It would be remiss of me not to leave a wonderful review of this lovely restaurant! Ania and Darek, the owners, are the nicest and most hospitable people ever! Since I have family in Poland, it was fun to talk to them about their homeland. Now about their food . . . it's completely amazing! I ordered galumpki (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage). The tomato sauce on top was so delicious, it spun circles around the sauce my grandma used to make (sorry, Grandma!)! My husband ate a breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes. SO tasty! And my daughter opted for a cheeseburger that looked and tasted so great that we even returned the next day to order another cheeseburger to go! Our entrees were accompanied by a side of two types of salad - one made of marinated red cabbage, and the other was their super delectable authentic Polish sour cream, cucumbers and dill. As you can tell, our dinner itself was a 5-star experience. Last but not least, I must discuss their DESSERTS! When you walk into Ania and Darek's restaurant, your eyes will immediately be drawn to their multi-tier display of desserts. Unfortunately, since our stomachs were full after our delicious dinner, we couldn't even think of dessert. However, take-home was still an option! So I asked Ania to escort me to the dessert case and tell me about her sweet treats. It turns out she owns a bakery in another suburb, and all the desserts are made on location at the bakery FROM SCRATCH! So we took a few home (see photo), ate them the next evening, and they did not disappoint! I loved them all, especially the vanilla custard inside the eclair and fruit tart! The chocolately hazelnut dessert was a Kinder Bueno torte. I want to go back and try more of these amazing treats! You should really go check out The Polish American Bistro, whether or not you are Polish! They have food for everyone. Dziękuję Ania and Darek!”

“Finally good brewery in the area, so happy that we visited that place that offers very interesting beers. Their Pilsner and Lager are very solid. We also tried Farmhouse Ipa that offers interesting complexion of flavors as it is brewed and then put in barrels that once contained the wine lingering with its flavors almost like saison but keeping the good IPA profile. We will definitely visit again, hopefully soon!! :)”

“I dined here at the sushi bar for the first time this year (Saturday night, 11-9-2024)! I usually order about $100-$200 of take out! It was a GREAT experience! The main dining room was PACKED, so thankfully, I had the sushi bar area to myself! Anyway, for appetizers, I had the Golden Lobster, Golden Shrimp and Shrimp Shumai Dumplings (which were so pillowy soft and delicious)! Then for entree, I had a Salmon Skin Handroll, Spicy Tuna Handroll, and a ton of nigiri: Uni/Sea Urchin, Salmon, Fatty Salmon, Tuna, Fatty Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Mackerel, Ikura/Salmon Roe, Spicy Tobiko/Flying Fish Roe, and Tamago/Scrambled Egg! My total bill was $190!!! It was well worth it because I had the sushi bar area to myself, got to watch these cool blues videos on the flat screen TV, and have a nice time talking with Owner/Executive Chef Mr. Lee! I will, of course, be back for more awesome sushi! By the way, you can only dine in on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights! You can do take out on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights! They're closed on Mondays!”

“They have the best Birthday cake that I’ve even had in this area. Very creamy and fresh, not too sweet. The cake was beautiful like a wedding cake, and it was very tasty, lots of strawberries in the layers. It definitely brought more joy to my daughter’s birthday party. Kids and parents all loved this cake. I felt so blessed to find this place before the Bday party. Thanks for bringing good food to this area!”

“Great food, Great portions! People here are typically friendly, they seem a bit rushed, but never take it out on the customer. We LOVE the crab rangoons and the fried rice is so good no matter which meat you choose!

My only complaint is that EVERY SINGLE TIME I tell them no peanuts in my KungPao dish they put tons of peanuts in it, not just in it but right on top. I know lots of people love it, my husband does, but personally I hate the peanut flavor and texture it ruins the whole dish for me. Extremely dangerous if someone has an allergy to peanuts and are then served a ton of peanuts.”

“Very good hot dog; they really grill it until it is hot. A "Shroomer" made as a grilled chicken sandwich is good. The burger is good and I have ended up getting a kid's meal last time so that I can try to eat less meat. I am more of a light weight person anyway. The inside of the restaurant could be renovated. They are still in the real old Kooker's building with the same old tile floor that Kooker's restaurant had when I was in high school. It is over 20 years later now. I have been willing to go back to Happy Burger to get meals. The people at the front desk are nice. I do admit, though, sometimes I end up getting a burger for $3 at fast food drive-throughs. Happy Burger (HB) burger tastes more like a fresh made juicy burger when compared to the McDonald's on the other side of the street. HB fries are not bad but could be better because when the HB fries come up and go into a bag, I have found they were a bit wet.Wet fries is a common imperfection with Chicago-style grills.”

“One of the few bars in Barrington. Has been around for many years. They have reasonable prices and great atmosphere. Service is prompt and sometimes they have food trucks and open the kitchen. They also have ample outdoor seating. They have dartboards and touch tunes inside. Crowd varies depending on day and time of year.”

However the hours are a bit odd they open pretty late but they close late to which is convenient. Overall great place!”

“Today I went to Starbucks where, my daughter, Rachel worked so I could hand out dry floral pendants (flowers from her funeral to her Starbucks family! I know that Starbucks has had it’s fair share of scrutiny lately, but they have been nothing short of amazing through this. They have set a memorial table up in Rachel’s honor. They also called in grief counselors and pulled in shift support from other stores so that people who knew Rachel could take time to grieve individually as well attend her service.”
