“2023 update: our first experience with the sushi here was impressive, but we have since ordered a few more times and I have to say that the food has been inconsistent. It's not bad and it's still a good value (esp. the party trays) , but it also hasn't lived up to that first tray the last few times we tried it. YMMV.Original review:Super friendly and helpful staff, fast delivery, and amazing sushi. Great value, too. My wife and I have lived in South Loop for years and have tried probably a dozen sushi restaurants in the area. This one is a little far from us so we didn't try it until today, but we were blown away by how tasty it was, especially given the affordable pricing and laid-back vibe.We got the Roll Out platter for ourselves and some friends. It's an incredible value for the amount of sushi included, and every roll was delicious. Fish portions were large and very fresh. A substantial part of the platter is "spicy" rolls which I was a little worried about - many sushi places grind up the meat into a mushy paste mixed with who-knows-what, but not here. These were easily the best spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail rolls I've ever had - they're good-sized bits of quality meat mixed with a delicious spicy mayo sauce. No meat paste. They were delightful.Anyway, we may have found a new favorite sushi spot. I just wish we had tried it sooner!“

“Where else can you go and have entrees go by on a conveyor? Makes it interesting just waiting to see what is coming next. If you don't see what you want then you can order what you want and it is delivered by a special train. Also the food is priced by the color of the plate.“

“Food was amazing. The gyoza and sushi were top notch and the ramen really took me back to my time in Japan. The vibe of the hole in the wall restruant is perfect for a date night with a significant other. I will be coming back here frequently.“

“Awesome sushi spot on Archer Ave. The location seems a little random, but don't let it deter you. The service is very friendly and welcoming. Sushi was fantastic. Everything was very fresh. It seems like it turns into a kareoke bar after 10 pm which is pretty fun. Definitely need to go back for that. This place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend.“

“Very nice place, especially if you just want a really relaxing atmosphere, great vibes, super sweet and friendly and not to mention quick service with a smile. Sushi is fresh, Ramen is very delicious and flavorful. I can drink the broth by itself. But all and all, "It's a must go check out." ... This was family time!!!Parking: Yes, you still have to pay the parking meter on the weekends. I'm just telling you now. CPD is down the street...“

“Ignore the person who apparently doesn't understand what "EXPRESS" means. This place slaps. It's cheap, good quality, and everyone is nice and friendly. It's a tiny storefront and not really meant for dining in. Don't judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree.“

“Hi Yelpers! The name is perfect because I feel like I found a golden egg within a 6 minute walk from my front door. This place is so cute and cozy! It's very unassuming from the outside but when you walk in it's literally the prettiest place . They have gorgeous mural on the wall that I couldn't take my eyes off of. We were greeted by Maya L. and she was also our server . Literally the sweetest person EVER! I was SO hungry and per usual my eyes were bigger than my stomach but whatever lol. The menu is extensive but not overwhelming. Yo guys know me, I'm definitely going to drink my calories first. I was torn between two choices but I went with the server recommendation (it smacked so hard) I ordered the Golden Gai margarita which is a house favorite and I can see why lol. For starters we had the edamame and the Chicken Karaage. The edamame was absolutely delicious but the chicken....... I have to take a deep breath because the waaaaay that this was the BEST 9.00$ I've ever spent! This chicken y'all .... It was so crispy, so flavorful and soooo juicy! Oh and it was steaming hot throughout my ENTIRE meal! I will be going back for that alone but let's talk about the sushi. I ordered the Tuna on Fire roll , the Crispy Munchie roll and the Red Lake roll. 100/10 would recommend. Everything was extremely fresh and well prepared! The tuna was buttery and soft and practically melted in my mouth. I didn't talk much because I was too busy doing my happy dance in my seat. I noticed that there was an area in front of where everything is prepared that had low seating and I didn't venture over to see if you could watch the chefs prepare everything. If you cannot see them, I think that would be an excellent idea. Anywho, I loved everything . It's perfect for a quiet date night or just a bite to eat. I had a very unrushed and tasty meal. I highly recommend giving this place a try! My total came out to 93.00 w/o tip and 123.00 after tip! Stop by and say hello! I'm sure they'll be delighted to see you!“

“Strip mall sushi spots now populate virtually every urban area in the U.S. It's funny to think that 25 years ago, sushi restaurants were few and far between, and for most folks the notion of eating raw fish was completely absurd. 25 years later and they dot the landscape like fast food chains. Most people have their go-to spot for strip mall sushi, and Ichiban is probably that spot for a lot of people. They're not breaking any new ground here, but the service is good, the restaurant is clean and the sushi is delicious. I've only been there a few times for their all-you-can-eat lunch special, and at $21.95/pp the value is right there. They do offer an extensive menu that features a bigger variety of sushi, as well as Cantonese and Hibachi entrees. I would like to visit again in the evening and sample some of the other items offered on their menu. The all-you-can-eat lunch special features appetizers, pieces of nigiri, common rolls, and a selection of specialty rolls. All of the items I've had have been really good. Great spot to go for a reasonably priced, delicious lunch!“

“I only tried the ramen and I found a hair at the bottom. I also didn’t really love the flavor too much. I wanted to love it and I like the concept and everything. I’d probably stick to somewhere else for the ramen and because of the hair I’m staying away ?“

“Vegetables at the airport? Sign me the hell up. My heart might call it quits if another burger and fries place pops up. I got the spicy tofu bowl. It was so good I had to ask the local youths what slaps meant. It slaps. Spice was on point. If you’re complaining about the spice, please stick to milder options. Don’t make the world bland for the rest of us. Veggies were actually fresh and crisp. Well-crafted bowl. Service was tops. I’m stopping here every time I come through“

“The food was pretty good. We ordered their ayce sashimi for once, and it was fresher than expected. There is not a lot of variety for the sashimi, but the nigiri and rolls are not packed with rice either. The service was decent, but there was definitely a lack of customer service. It didn't feel very welcoming and many of the staff members rarely smiled or asked how we were doing. The ambiance is a 10/10. They have new decor and lots of seating for people.“

“Wow this place is awesome! We wanted to find a restaurant with good Chinese food on our way home from downtown and Harmony had positive reviews so we gave them a try. The outside is simple and straightforward, and a little deceiving in a really good way -- walking inside we were surprised at how much space there was, and the decor and fish tank were spot on! Friendly and fast service, tasty drinks, delicious food, a hidden gem!“

“I had the tacos..don't judge me..they were what you would expect from a sushi place (don't recommend). My dad had the steak sandwich..you guessed it..what you would get from a sushi place (don't recommend). I did try my sister's and nephews sushi (first time) and it was pretty good. I just see sushi isn't my thing but they loved it!! If I were to give sushi another try I would come here. Staff was friendly, prices were okay, place was very clean, and it was a peaceful environment. I recommend to give it a try!!“

“I thought it was very tasty. The pick up order only took 15 minutes even on a busy night during dinner time. The chicken fried rice, beef lo mein, and salmon roll were delicious. Tasted just as good the next day for leftovers. 我喜欢牛肉面和鸡肉炒饭!谢谢!“

“review:I ordered sushi and beef rib soup and it was really delicious.Sushi: The sashimi is thicker than other places and has a good texture. It's actually better than most Japanese restaurants. I don't think there's any reason to go to another Japanese restaurant.Ugeoji Galbitang: It tastes like the real thing in Korea, not the typical MSG taste you get on the market. Be sure to come and try it. As I was eating frantically, I only took pictures of empty dishes. The spoon is the real spoon of truth. The owner is really kind. I will definitely visit again here.“

“I came here with family and friends to celebrate my two kids' birthday, and we had an awesome time. The hibachi is a must do. The kids and adults enjoyed not only the food but the entertainment of the chefs. I ordered the chicken and steak and they both were very good along with the other sides the chefs cooked up in front of us.“
