“Visited on a weekday, so business was slow. Food was good, as usual. (Hence, 4 stars!) I had a frittata, and my husband had the crepes with cherries. Server could have been more attentive to her one table, us. This place has been here for a long time, and we have visited it often. It looks tired now. Needs some "sprucing up." The ladies washroom is yucky. There's mold or something all over the ceiling tiles. Not sure we'll be back in the near future.Wheelchair accessibility: There's handicapped parking.“
“Great small bakery. The options may be limited but the quality is high. Follow their Instagram to keep a close eye on their inventory as I hear they typically sell out quick (only so much product can be made for a day's sales).I guess they are known for their Tahini cookies. I've had several items from their menu and I would recommend fulfill your sweet tooth here.First thing I ate were the peanut butter cookies, and boy did it have peanut butter in it - grab a drink to help wash it down! The bakery takes pride in their baked goods and it is well worth their hard work.“
“Bang Bang has been a neighborhood favorite of mine for years! Tastes like it's made with love. The biscuits, the pies, the sides, you can't go wrong! I usually get a scratch biscuit with sweet, a side salad or side of candied bacon, and a slice of pie to go :) Delicious! Great patio space for the summer!“
“check this quaint place out and try on of their fresh pies on rotation paired with an egg sandwich and old fashioned root beer float (or any flavored soda). or maybe you want something quick like a cortado (in a glass cup!) and a scone. mmmm blueberry scoooon.breakfast snackfast fastsugar - they have something for you“
“Typically, I do not care for breakfast fare. If I must dine on it, I am a chilaquiles or steak and eggs person. Loaf Lounge has changed all of that in my 54th year. It is difficult to quantify the revolution that has transpired. Suffice to say the sausage-egg-n-cheese on English muffin with a hash brown and Kyle's Go Juice rearranged my universe so that my daily planet now revolves around this brilliant morning sun populated by very courteous and caring personnel. Lunch is equally desirable. Highest recommendation. Visit early and often. Love and cheers to the Loafers 'n' Loungers!“
“Foodwise, is truly a wonderful story, somebody in the kitchen knows what to do and that translates all the way to our braines stirring waves of good sensations.Their turkish culture habits, the hours limitation for certain types of food, do not always overlap with other's schedule or expectations. The staff is very polite and forthcoming but that's so much they can do.The atmosphere is a bit bizzare, the music for example, is not in tune with the specific, the way that the tables are set, suggests rather a train fare than a regular restaurant.Their sweets shop however, is there to take away all possible clouds and make your day.Parking: Plenty of parking“
“Super fun joint. A lot of good vibes and reasons to hang around. The food, overall, was tasty, but the pizza left some to be desired. You can tell they put great care and detail into every decision. The pizza just didn't do it for me. Could've been the bold claim of "best cheese pizza in Chicago." I appreciate the bravado, but unfortunately, it came with little fanfare.“
“Amazing customer service, and delicious treats ! I had a corporate event, and we wanted some light sweets for the occasion. The owner of the establishment walked me through all things offered and explained the process, and I haven’t been this satisfied in a long time with any whole sale establishment. I highly recommend for any type of parties, corporate events, or even just for you and your family! Will be connecting again soon.“
“A cozy bakery that's about as artisan as it gets. The interior is beautifully rustic, and the aroma of freshly baked croissants, scones, breads, and pastries entices you as soon as the door opens. Their selection is extensive, and the service is impeccable. The items themselves are slightly pricy, but you can really appreciate the craft and dedication put into every baked good.I kid you not - I was about to walk past this place until the door opened. One whiff was all it took. That's how good this place is.“
“Me, my fiancé and our friend came here to check it out on a rainy day and super glad we did! The three workers who helped us were super chill and made it a very comfortable experience. We all got different infused lemonades that were super tasty! We will definitely be back to try their other flavors and pastries. If you have been considering coming in, it’s definitely worth it :)“
“This was a hidden gem to me. It is a great sunlit spot for everyone in the village. This felt welcoming and warm. Let me tell you about the coffee, spectacular. I felt like I was back in Paris! The only draw back is too many choices and all delicious. Plus the staff knows they are the best…thanks Kelsey (who is my new bestie ?) for the info about everything being good, you were right!!“
“These politics out these dangerous times in the world. We need unity not division in this day and age. People should enjoy donuts and coffee in a non political environment. I suggest that the owner of this establishment should tell the person who put up several Israeli flags to remove them. The donuts were excellent and the customer service was great. I do not feel comfortable going back to this establishment who obviously promotes and supports a political agenda. Let's stick with good food and great customer service this is a winning mix.“
“We stopped in for a special treat. They had a good selection of donuts. The shop was decorated nicely and the man who was working there was inviting, helpful and nice. We decided on 6 donuts, Boston creams, pistachio, blueberry cheesecake, apple cider and bacon maple. We enjoyed them all! The prices are average for this type of shop and it does have a nice area to sit and eat if you want to do that. Overall, I recommend stopping in for a delicious donut. We will be going back whenever we are in Elmhurst again.“
“Their Italian ice is the best we've tried by far. It's very flavorful, perfect texture and refreshing. So far I've tried strawberry, lemon, grape and lime. All are excellent. I can't wait to try the other flavors. After trying Little Lulu's Ice, I finally understand why people get so excited about Italian ice. This is far superior to others I've tried.“
“Of all the places I've tried around the city, Taste of Colombia has the best coffee anywhere in Chicago. My favorite part though is the wonderful people who work there! I feel super fortunate to have them just two blocks from my house. Make sure to give them a try!How cool this place is! They have the best coffee and desserts in all of Chicago, but the best thing is the people who work there. Many thanks to Naima, Toni and Alejandra. Always a pleasure to spend some time with you every weekend!“
“I hired Roughedges Confectionery for my daughters’ bridal shower after sampling some of their treats at local events. They were not only beautiful but insanely delicious! Everyone at the event commented on her desserts saying they were not only gorgeous, but the best cupcakes, flourless chocolate bites and cookies they’ve ever eaten. Kai and her team went above and beyond to make the event perfect by being so easy to work with, displayed the desserts so beautifully and actually had a member of her team pick mint sprigs from her garden that I forgot to bring! I can’t say thank you enough for making the event just perfect!Dietary restrictions: Kai also made gluten free options for several guests which were delicious!“
“I was walking around the neighborhood and noticed the sign for New Dokil Bakery. Dokil 독일 means German/Germany in Korean, and the sign reminded me of one of my favorite Kdramas Reply 1988.This store is a cute neighborhood bakery that sells delicious Korean breads, some with cream fillings. The bread tastes fresh and homemade, and it's priced reasonably. The owner is also very friendly and welcoming. They makecakes to order as well, so next time I have a special occasion I'll try ordering from New Dokil Bakery.I like to support local businesses over international franchises, and I'm impressed that they have been in operation for over forty years!“
“I Palermo bakery! I saw on their instagram that they have pupo con uovo. My Nonna used to make them every year, but is unfortunately no longer with us. This would be our 4th Easter without them. We called Palermo first thing this morning to put in an order. We also ordered Iris, which they didn’t have today but made 10 for us, on a super short notice. (WOW!) I picked up the order, and all of the employees were so kind and welcoming. (As always). I also got a slice of eggplant pizza, which I devoured before even making it home. (Amazing). we were absolutely blown away when we got home and opened the boxes. The iris are HUGE, and very generously filled! We split a pupo con uovo in half, not having very high expectations. (What’s better than Nonna’s baking?) to our surprise, they were absolutely perfect. The best pupo con uovo we’ve ever had. (Sorry Nonna.) we also picked up a reginella cake here 2 weeks ago, which was phenomenal as well. Thanks to Palermo, this will be the best Easter we’ve had in years. I definitely recommend following them on social media, they always post what they’re making for the day. Will be stopping by every weekend going forward :)“
“A very good shop with Georgian cuisine. The quality of cooking is at a high level. Communication is in Russian, so you can chat and choose something tasty for yourself. I liked the lamb pilaf, pies with meat and potatoes, Georgian cookies, grilled chicken and very good cheesecakes not fried. Pay attention to this store. Pirosmani restaurant will open there soon. Good luck to everyone.“
“I don’t understand how this cake turned out better than I expected. I was so scared that I was going to be disappointed because I have been in the past with other cake places but this one was not the case. I read the reviews first before my decision to get the cake done here. And I absolutely have no regrets. I just told them it was a Care Bears 1st birthday. I honestly look forward to having my future cakes made here. They were so beautiful that I had wished we didn’t have to eat them. And not only were they beautiful but delicious. Half Oreo and half guava. There was only a small bit left. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart to this talented team that work here. We could not have been any more happier with the results.“
“Had lunch in...chicken parmesan was dry, not enough sauce, chicken tasted old, didn't like. Would have liked ice water at table rather than having to purchase $2 bottles of water. Bread was excellent. Paid and tipped, but no table service, so not sure why.Cannolis that we took to-go for a birthday were fantastic. Rosemary focaccia to-go, also great.“
“The old style bakery you are looking for. The offerings are top-notch with lots of seasonal items. Bring your kid in with you. They'll often let your kid pick out a small cookie. What at a thrill. And of course, all the decadent offerings the adults want.Kid-friendliness: The VERY friendly ladies behind the counter often let your child pick out a small cookie. Even my 6ft tall 15 yo. Big stuff. ? = core memories.“
“North Shore Bakery Rocks!! I have been going to this amazing Bakery since High School and let me tell you..... I love the bagels, challah bread, and cinnamon coffee cake. They make the best baked goods in town. I wanted to mention and recognize Ayellet for her hard work and dedication to the business and her customers. When I go into the store for my baked goods I always get a welcome with a smile. North Shore Bakery always makes me feel like I am there only customer they have! Thank you for your amazing selections, presentation, and kind approach to the art of baking and customer service! It does not go unnoticed. Thank you for continuing to be open during these difficult times we are facing.“
“The date maamoul and baklava are affordable compared to other places, and they are very good. I also really liked the soft knafeh. My father even said that the baklava of Nazareth Sweets are the best baklava that he’s ever tried. He also said that it would be good to give as a gift or bring to a party. Even my little sister, who is quite a picky eater, really liked how the baklava tasted. The bakery smells good, and the cashier gave my mother a free piece of baklava.I really recommend this place because of its delicious desserts, and I plan on going here again and again.“
“Very authentic Mediterranean food with an Iraqi influence. I went with my friend from Iraq and he knew exactly what to order. (We ordered a lot so he could show me the menu) The ground beef kabobs were perfectly prepared and delicious. The beef shawarma was nicely charred and very good. I'm not a big fan of Baba Ghannoush but this one was very good. The hummus was fantastic too. I've had better falafel though. I would not have typically ordered okra soup but I'm pleased my friend ordered it. It was amazing. I'd pass on the white bean soup though. The server was from Iraq and the place is small but if you want authentic cuisine, this is your place!“
“I love this place and appreciate having an Italian bakery being near by. An authentic one serving lots of delicious baked item and Gelato /sorbetto,coffee. I was sad becaus3 a couple times I ordered some pasteri3s,they were old and also the Gelato and sorbetto were freezer burned. I guess I'll stick with the cannoli which is made fresh and probably in summer the Gelato will be fresher.“
“Where do I start on my journey to this "schweet" treat? It all started a few months ago of seeing this business online ...I could not manage to get the time right I was too late or to early or it was closed....But finally the stars ALIGNED and on Saturday I pulled up at 10:30am waiting for the 11am opening...to buy six amazing, delicious and delightful moo-moo cheesecakes (2 keylimes 3 pecan delight and 1 strawberry)...a bowl of chili and a candle ..!I met one of the owners who went above and beyond in customer service, she was kind, patient and efficient she didn't let me wait for the chili ,which I appreciated. The strawberry was the tester cheesecake which both my mother and daughter had a sample of we all loved and enjoyed this cheesecake especially my self which I put the remaining into the freezer to get cold quick ( best decision) to eat in the dark sitting at the kitchen table savoring the freshness the sweet tartness of the strawberries the sweet smoothness of the cheesecake the buttery graham crust slightly sweet whipped cream omg...I will be coming back for more soon..another reason why to support this amazing business is they help alot and give back to the community, they offer their shop for events."There the Cheesecake People".“
“I live in the UK and wanted to surprise a friend who lives in Chicago with a birthday cake. These guys were willing to go the extra mile, literally, and deliver for me as it was a little tricky for me to collect. My friend was very happy with the cake.“
“Wow! This young lady is so sweet! AND the sub was delish. After walking in I noticed they didn’t accept Credit cards. I told her I’d be right back. She offered for me to pay next time! As much as I think she is crazy for offering that, where in this world would anyone ever say that??? How genuinely nice! I am from out of town so yes, I went to grab cash.Thank you! The bread is amazing!“
“Love this place. If you come here, you will get the fresh made famous cheesecake and more. Price is cheaper than other place.Usually, there is a discount on Saturday. Parking is always available. There are tables inside if you need to sit down to eat.“
“We love this place and wish they were bigger and open longer. The people, food, hot and cold beverages, the breads and sweets, sandwiches and other goodies. Their products remind me of the bread and food my Grandma made in Poland. Words cannot describe how fresh and good everything is. We come here at least 1-2 times a week. This week it was for bread and a latte then yesterday for paczki and tea. Check this place out. The bread will melt in your mouth. Prices are beyond fair for what you get. Hands down the best best best bread and treats are here and no one compares.“
“Best Japanese pastry, bun, bento box in Illinois. Heck, it's even better than some of the pastry shop in Japan. If you want to place order for hot food, please order 30 minutes ahead. Master chef prepare hot meals fresh after you place the order, Is it worth the wait? I would wait 1 hour if I have to. It's that good. It's a family owned business. Their price is ridiculously inexpensive. Bento box of the day is $8.75. Where on earth in Illinois can you find a freshly made to order bento box made by real Japanese professional pastry baker/chef for $8.75. That's 90s price without inflation. The only reason I can't post what I ate, because I couldn't wait to take pictures. I ate it all.... This place is a treasure box. Please be kind .“
“The cookies are delicious. The brownies are out of this world. And the cinnamon rolls (just had my first one there) are truly the best I've ever had in my life. The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming. Five stars all around for Blackout Baking Co.!“
“I've never had a bad experience here at Crumbl Cookies!Since moving to the area a few months ago, this has been our go-to Crumbl Cookies spot. We get it probably once a month - yikes! Every time here, though, has been the opposite of yikes - the staff is friendly, the cookies are fresh, it's never busy, always clean, and there's ample parking outside. At my old Crumbl Cookies location in Schaumburg, it was always a tight squeeze and hustle-and-bustle situation inside the store and in the parking lot because it was so busy. This location is bigger with more parking, but it's never busy which I like. Let's be real, Crumbl Cookies are freaking good. There's 4 rotating flavors every single week and 2 constant flavors (chocolate chip & sugar). I always love the chocolate chip and will get it in replacement of one of the rotating cookies when I get a 4-pack. In my opinion the warm cookies are always better than the chilled, but some of the chilled ones are great, too. They also sometimes include a mystery cookie which yes, is a mystery when you get it. I love that they do that, I think it's a fun concept especially if you really don't know which other cookie to get or want to try something new. There's TONS of flavors in general at Crumbl, I can't even select my favorite one. When they have these flavors, I do really enjoy their cinnamon swirl cookie, s'mores, cinnamon fry bread, dulce de leche, Biscoff lava, chocolate cake, buckeye brownie, and basically any flavor that has cinnamon or caramel in it, or that's super chocolatey and gooey. You already know I'll be coming to this location again!“
“We had the BEST time at Punky Cake yesterday. My daughters and I took the cake decorating class and had so much fun and learned so much from Ashely! Ashley has such an amazing energy and taught us all the steps and techniques needed to make a double layer 8” rainbow cake! The experience was so fun we can’t wait to go back for another class! We were able enjoy eating the cake with our family and we are pretty picky about cakes and we ALL raved about the flavor and how it wasn’t too sweet and heavy. The flavor was a perfect balance of flavors. We were all very impressed!! Thank you Ashley and Punky Cakes you’ll be seeing us again very soon!“
“It s so hard to find romanian food in USA so I was so happy to find this place! Everything is great, the selection/variety, the products and the people!!Everything was so fresh, you could see the bags steaming and everybody was working hard in the back!Besides sweets and savory salty snacks (mainly) they also have a small variety of cooked food! The people working there were soo nice and chatty! Will be back from Tennessee with any occasion and even just for this place, totally recommend it if you miss home or just if you want to try some homemade romanian delicacies!“
“We just stopped into this new bakery in Winnetka and my son says it's the best cinnamon role he's ever had! The owner was extremely kind and friendly! This will be our new spot! Go and support thus local bakery, you won't regret it!“
“I've been coming to this bakery for at least 20+ years and it's always a treat. Whether getting a slice of their real Italian pizza or a cannoli or some bread/rolls or ordering a cake - you won't go wrong. Huge selection of Italian cookies and pastries as well as most other things that are baked. The biggest issue is once you get something here, no other place will ever be as good.“
“This review is brought to you by the letter F! F: resh mochi, rice flour based donuts every time! Rotating flavors to suit every palate. F: amily friendly menu, with Korean hot dogs, donuts, bubble tea, and coffee drinks. F: ind it at the northeast corner of the Milwaukee/Golf intersection next to Fannie May.“
“My best friend and I had this place for the first time this morning and it was delicious!!! And the price for everything made it 10x better. The bagels were fresh and warm and the cream cheese was to die for! I originally ordered a cheddar bagel but they were out of that so I just got a plain bagel with plain cream cheese and my friend got the egg bagel with plain cream cheese as well. This place was definitely a hidden gem I used to live not even a block away from this location and never knew about it. Now want their bagels everyday! Lol“
“I wanted to have an authentic polish experience with a friend and this place couldn’t be more authentic. From atmosphere to food to languages spoken, we felt like we were transported to another place. While the stuffed cabbage was our favorite, other food was good. We liked polish style goulash with pancakes, paczki (polish style donut) and rumbo (dessert with rum inside). Iced tea/fruit punch went well with all the food.We witnessed a long line form often with people buying bakery items and food to go. While we were among many who dined it was nice to be part of a busy cafe while enjoying our food. The staff were nice people and I want to come back again. Soup of the day is on my list to try plus other pastries.“
“She did an incredible job with this 1st birthday cake and delivery was on time, everything as promised!! I could not recommend her more. Flavor of the cake and frosting was also SO GOOD. A lot of time cakes can look pretty but taste terrible. I would highly recommend her.“
“Overall experience will leave you satisfied. This is the perfect place for a coffee & breakfast. It feels very local and is always busy. The breakfast torta was very tasty. Customer service is awesome! You can bring your dog to the window outside and order a free pup cup, the 2nd one cost a few cents.??????“
“Charming old world bakery with fantastic crusty ? bread, fresh baked and delicious. Stop in and get some long Italian bread loaves, and some round crusty village style loaves... Real nice chewy crust, and super soft and fluffy inside, just like Grandma used to buy! I picked up a really nice loaf of regular white bakery bread, which I sliced nice and thick and had with some fresh butter and jam! While you're there, have a nice chat with the sales ladies!“
“I went yesterday when visiting Chicago. I had never had it before but I went by the recommendations of Skokie residents and I was very impressed. I took 6 desserts home to Kentucky and my only regret is I didn’t take more oatmeal raisin cookies. Those were absolutely phenomenal.“
“We love these cookies! The chocolate chip is always a family favorite but we like the fun of the variety too. Curbside or delivery service are a huge plus!Vegetarian options: Dessert!Parking: Huge lot. Dedicated spots for curbside service.Kid-friendliness: Nowhere to eat inside. But the flavors are always exciting for the kids. Especially the extras like shark gummies.“
“A quick Google search led my sweetooth here. What an amazing experience. Very nice roomy and contemporary seating area. Wonderful coffee brewed right in front of me. A wonderful flavor filled tart completed my experience. I can’t wait to come back.“
“Drove 45 minutes and well worth the trip. I couldn’t choose…so I bought quiche, key lime, chocolate chess, chocolate cream and pecan pies. All fantastic, but the pecan is my absolute fave. Go here. Your taste buds will never forgive you if you don’t!“
“Continental Bakery has been a family favorite since forever. My parents bought cakes and sweets for special occasians, now I'm buying cakes and sweets for my kids and new family special occasians. They always suprise me with their wonderful cakes. I let them be creative and they never disappoint. The best!!“
“What a fantastic Macaron shop - all the pastries and macarons are made fresh daily! They have tons of different flavors for the macarons!! The staff was super friendly and reviewed all the options available for pastries and macarons. LeilaLove is decorated so nicely inside and out - I recommend you check it out!!“
