“Very fun place, our waitress was the sweetest and very considerate. Tried going two other times and couldn't make it. I'm so glad I was able to get in, dine upstairs, and dinner was excellent. It was so nice having grilled octopus instead of fried calamari. Lamb chops were perfect, and I had the "scalabet" for my entree. We finished it off with a cookie skillet. I was STUFFED, so it's worth it.”

“On a weather rich day, this place's outdoor seating really shines, and on dreary evenings the indoors are plenty welcoming. It's like a being in a Norman Rockwell painting - lots of regulars, the aesthetics of the food and drink make your eyes salivate, and very yuppie (not in a bad way perse, but there's too many golf polos to not point this out).

Overall, I feel the drinks and starters are just better than the mains. Pricing on quality beer and cocktails is just better than the surrounding eateries without sacrificing quality. And the appetizers are more fun and flavorful than I've come to expect from a place like this. Yet every time I've been here, I feel like I'm overpaying for a good-but-not-great entree.

As a date spot to get to know someone or just catch up with your posse? Excellent choice, would always recommend. Seeking a gastro pub experience to entertain your pallette? It'll do, just wouldn't be my first pick.”

“Pikk’s Tavern might just be the best spot in Valparaiso. Went there tonight for my birthday and in July for my wife’s birthday. Jay was there both of those times and he’s so nice and welcoming. Natalie was our server this last time and she was the bomb as well. This place got me hooked on mules and when we returned tonight I seen they had an apple pie mule on the menu that I had to try. 10/10 that drink was absolutely amazing, I had to have a couple. I had the open faced steak sandwich with fries and my wife had the filet. They always bring out their signature steak sauce that’s made in house. At first I was skeptical because a good steak doesn’t need a steak sauce and this one definitely didn’t either. Juicy, cooked to perfection and flavorful. Well their steak sauce just turns it all up a notch. It’s good on the steak, fries or whatever else you want to dip or douse it in. Both times we’ve been there they’ve substituted our birthday desert for us as we’re not the biggest cake fans. They let us get the brownie and it is seriously the best end cap to dinner. We will be going here again and again for our special nights out as not only are the food and drinks delicious but the atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time but in a very homey way.”

She didn't skimp or hurry through the process and it was an overall, very well made sandwich, better than I was expecting. So just had to come here and give her kudos for going above and beyond our expectations for what to expect from a Subway in a gas station.Honestly, all the employees both in Subway and Luke's were beyond friendly. “Had wrote a review a few days ago regarding a coupon not being utilized for a 50% off. I just deleted the review on accident but wanted to update to anyone who had read that. A manager contacted me and apologized for the mistake that had been made. The young man that had taken the order was fairly new and has now been educated on how to process that particular type of coupon. Managment was extremely apologetic and quick to recover and make me feel much better about the situation. They offered a credit for the WHOLE pizza!!! We well absolutely order from Rosati‘s again as that is our favorite pizza and the closest to Chicago as we can get in pizza.”

“Went in today with my son and infant daughter. There was a miscommunication between myself and the cashier that resulted in not having a combo added to one of the sandwiches. The store was quick to solve the problem. A bit later we had another issue with the sausage being burnt. I hated to even say anything because I had already had the issue with the combo but my son wasn’t going to eat the sandwich because it was burnt. The manager didn’t even hesitate and made him a fresh sandwich. Once that was solved everything was amazing. The food was hot and delicious. The beef was tender and the bread perfection. The manager and her entire team were super friendly and took great care of us.

“It was our first time visiting the Viking Chili Bowl in Valpo. We called ahead for a table since we were a party of 6. Glad we did. Even though the place was packed, we had excellent, friendly service. I was impressed that our food arrived as soon as it did. The food was good. My husband absolutely loved the ham. Portions are big. My granddaughter barely got through a half on one of her pancakes. I had the fish sandwich with Onion rings. Sandwich was standard. I really enjoyed the rings. My husband and I ordered the chili to go for dinner. I have to say, I was disappointed. The only negative. The chili looked very processed. Like it came straight from a can. It was an unappealing brown color and it didn't taste good. Guess I had a sort of expectation from the restaurant's name. Again, everything else was pleasant and enjoyable outside of the Chili. We look forward to returning some time.”

“I live nearby this Culver’s and visit it frequently. I also walk around the neighborhood with my dog and pass in front of the store almost daily. When it snows they never shovel the sidewalk that runs parallel to LaPorte Avenue. This is annoying and dangerous. It’s a tiny strip of walk between two businesses to the east and 1st Source Bank to the west, all of which keep their sidewalks cleared of ice and snow. I suggest and hope that for the safety of pedestrians Culver’s management addresses this potentially serious issue. Thank you.”

I went back in and was helped by a gentleman. He remade the drink, we talked for a bit, and he made me feel like it was no issue to him to have to do it again. He and the sweet drive thru lady made my day with meaningful small talk and it made it feel as if I was visiting someone’s home rather than a corporate chain.
