“Very fun place, our waitress was the sweetest and very considerate. Tried going two other times and couldn't make it. I'm so glad I was able to get in, dine upstairs, and dinner was excellent. It was so nice having grilled octopus instead of fried calamari. Lamb chops were perfect, and I had the "scalabet" for my entree. We finished it off with a cookie skillet. I was STUFFED, so it's worth it.”

“My daughter discovered this restaurant during a trip last year. She saw a billboard along the highway and immediately thought of me, since I am originally from Spain. After doing some research, she couldn’t stop talking about how much she wanted our family of four to experience authentic Spanish food there. Recently, while traveling nearby, we finally had the chance to make her wish come true. Making a reservation was simple and seamless. I booked online, then called to adjust the time. The staff handled the change politely, without any issues, and quickly sent a confirmation email. From the moment we arrived, we knew the evening was going to be special. We were warmly greeted and seated near the stage, where a talented guitarist set the perfect mood by blending jazz, classical, American, and Spanish music. Our waitress was attentive, patient, and kind—especially as we took our time deciding among so many tempting dishes. We began with the tapas sampler and croquetas, a delicious start featuring tortilla de patatas, chorizo, meatballs, and more. Every bite melted in our mouths. For our main courses, we enjoyed Filet Mignon, Chicken Paella, and Bacalao a la Vasca. As someone from the Basque Country, I was deeply impressed by the cod—prepared with flavors that instantly transported me back to the cuisine of my childhood in Spain. Alongside the meal, we shared a wonderfully flavorful sangria. Of course, we couldn’t skip dessert. We tried the chocolate hazelnut cheesecake, arroz con leche, and their famous tarta de cuajada. This last dessert holds special meaning for my daughter—she’s loved it since she was a toddler—and tasting its authenticity brought tears to her eyes. To make the moment even more memorable, both Chef Carlos and Elena (the mastermind behind the desserts) came by to chat with us. Their warmth and passion were evident, as they visited with guests while running the restaurant smoothly. In every way—food, atmosphere, service, and hospitality—this restaurant exceeded our expectations. Although we live nearly three hours away, we would gladly make the drive again to relive such an extraordinary experience. Carlos and Elena, thank you to you and your entire team for creating such a magical evening and sharing the true spirit of Spain.”

Plenty of parking, including a good amount of handicapped spots, no long line on a Sunday evening, clean look with professional team. Our reservation was ready for us even though we’d shown up a touch early, our waitress was a sweet younger woman with black hair neatly tucked back- respectful, patient, and observant. She did a wonderful job keeping our drinks filled and making sure we enjoyed our experience. A model employee, everyone seemed well trained and guest forward. Our soup and salad orders arrived at the perfect time, then our meals were delivered in the same fashion- everything was delicious! My creamy pesto tortellini was absolutely divine and I adored the pine nuts mixed in, the serving size was great as well! Overall a good visit and for the level of service I would say well worth the price.”

“Pikk’s Tavern might just be the best spot in Valparaiso. Went there tonight for my birthday and in July for my wife’s birthday. Jay was there both of those times and he’s so nice and welcoming. Natalie was our server this last time and she was the bomb as well. This place got me hooked on mules and when we returned tonight I seen they had an apple pie mule on the menu that I had to try. 10/10 that drink was absolutely amazing, I had to have a couple. I had the open faced steak sandwich with fries and my wife had the filet. They always bring out their signature steak sauce that’s made in house. At first I was skeptical because a good steak doesn’t need a steak sauce and this one definitely didn’t either. Juicy, cooked to perfection and flavorful. Well their steak sauce just turns it all up a notch. It’s good on the steak, fries or whatever else you want to dip or douse it in. Both times we’ve been there they’ve substituted our birthday desert for us as we’re not the biggest cake fans. They let us get the brownie and it is seriously the best end cap to dinner. We will be going here again and again for our special nights out as not only are the food and drinks delicious but the atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time but in a very homey way.”

“Chris and his staff from Burgerhaus put on our event for the Valparaiso Girl's Basketball team. It was our end of the year banquet. Because of the size of the party, 110 people, they were unable to facilitate us in their space, however, they were able to use LePeep's space for the event. Chris coordinated everything with us as we went through the planning process. He was thoughtful, polite, kind, accommodating, and quick to help solve any issues. The food was DELICIOUS! It was cooked on-site, was hot and so so tasty! We had sliders with all the fixins, mac & cheese, salad with many dressings, and, of course, their delectable French fries! There was PLENTY of food for everyone. They allowed us to bring our own cake for dessert. They accommodated our screen and other technology that we brought in. Chris and his staff helped us to move the tables and chairs whevever we needed to in order to allow everyone to sit where they wanted and still see the presentations. If this wasn't my daughter's senior year, I would be contacting Chris and his phenomenal staff for another banquet!”

He does an excellent job of hosting and uses better equipment than many of the bars around here, which enhances the performing and listening experience. “It was our first time visiting the Viking Chili Bowl in Valpo. We called ahead for a table since we were a party of 6. Glad we did. Even though the place was packed, we had excellent, friendly service. I was impressed that our food arrived as soon as it did. The food was good. My husband absolutely loved the ham. Portions are big. My granddaughter barely got through a half on one of her pancakes. I had the fish sandwich with Onion rings. Sandwich was standard. I really enjoyed the rings. My husband and I ordered the chili to go for dinner. I have to say, I was disappointed. The only negative. The chili looked very processed. Like it came straight from a can. It was an unappealing brown color and it didn't taste good. Guess I had a sort of expectation from the restaurant's name. Again, everything else was pleasant and enjoyable outside of the Chili. We look forward to returning some time.”

“I used to work at a Subway because I would crave it while I was pregnant. With that being said I know how a subway is ran through and through. THIS Subway here is One Of Thee Best Subway locations I have been to!! The employees were helpful, kind, and very attentive. This manager (whomever it may be) is doing a WONDERFUL job.
The FOOD is Very Fresh. The meats and vegetables were all full. I like a lot of veggies so usually the sandwich artist will make a mess of my sandwich But Not Here Buddy. This you Gentleman with blue eyes and blond hair deserves the Title of a true sandwich artist!! The way he took great care into making the perfect sandwich for myself and my daughter is admirable!!! I'm not sure if I ever want anyone else to make my Subway sandwich for me, as of yesterday.

“I live nearby this Culver’s and visit it frequently. I also walk around the neighborhood with my dog and pass in front of the store almost daily. When it snows they never shovel the sidewalk that runs parallel to LaPorte Avenue. This is annoying and dangerous. It’s a tiny strip of walk between two businesses to the east and 1st Source Bank to the west, all of which keep their sidewalks cleared of ice and snow. I suggest and hope that for the safety of pedestrians Culver’s management addresses this potentially serious issue. Thank you.”

“Went in today with my son and infant daughter. There was a miscommunication between myself and the cashier that resulted in not having a combo added to one of the sandwiches. The store was quick to solve the problem. A bit later we had another issue with the sausage being burnt. I hated to even say anything because I had already had the issue with the combo but my son wasn’t going to eat the sandwich because it was burnt. The manager didn’t even hesitate and made him a fresh sandwich. Once that was solved everything was amazing. The food was hot and delicious. The beef was tender and the bread perfection. The manager and her entire team were super friendly and took great care of us.

“Went today for lunch and was very impressed with the food. Signed up with the app and got a free appetizer. Manager came over and offered complimentary fries and a coupon for another free appetizer our next visit! Waitress took care of us well. Only problem we had was it stank in the restaurant…. lol

“My husband and I had such a wonderful time we had just stormed out of a restaurant that ignored 🙁 us for 45 min
And then our server Courtney at chili's made our experience excellent 👌 she was empathetic to our previous experience and when our son started to get impatient because he'd been out longer then expected she held him and comforted him while we ate our dinner being hungry desperately annoyed parents of a tired cranky infant that was huge for us. Thx for making our night memorable in a great way!”

“Today, at about 1:20 PM I pulled up to the Starbucks drive thru with a heavy heart and having suicidal thoughts. I was on my way to a doctors appointment to get some help. And as a Target Starbucks partner, I know how important customer connection is but it was different. The beautiful young girl at the window was the sweetest person ever and easily had conversation with me. she ended up telling me that she had a free mess up drink for me. And I know that it’s something so simple but I instantly felt like it was a reminder to hold on and that someone thought of me. I cried leaving. Coffee really is the key to the heart. “Dropping a review to thank the staff for such awesome service today during a rush! I got a drink and sandwich in the drive thru and felt the Matcha was super weak. I went back in and was helped by a gentleman. He remade the drink, we talked for a bit, and he made me feel like it was no issue to him to have to do it again. I really appreciated this since I felt bad having to ask. He and the sweet drive thru lady made my day with meaningful small talk and it made it feel as if I was visiting someone’s home rather than a corporate chain. From now on, I’ll drive the few extra miles to get to this location simply for the kind staff.”
