She smiled and worked the whole bar with poise and grace. I was actually surprised to see only one bartender on such a busy night. Way to work it Jessica.“

“I've been here a few times and it's always enjoyable. They had a pretty impressive live musician playing. The wait staff despite being very busy were still very friendly and attentive. The menu is fairly small but the quality is excellent for every dish I've tried. The cocktails are unique and delicious. “Family was looking for a place to eat while visiting KC, unique place for us. Menu was limited due to St. Patrick's day which was unfortunate because the pics online looked really good. The burgers are à la cart, so you have to buy fries extra but they are very shareable. Our bartender was very friendly and responsive. Compared with other locally-owned burger restaurants, today's experience was exceptional in the areas of creativity, taste, and service.“
“I love this place! I do not drink, but I love live music! This is a cigar shop, a full service bar, a smoking lounge, and a venue all in one very well packaged establishment. The venue room is separated from the rest of the facility. There is plenty of room to sit in comfortable seating, have a great smoke with a diet soda or water, and watch live music on Fridays and Saturdays.I recommend it for a music lover like myself that absolutely hates bars and alcohol.If you hate smoke, well then obviously this is not the place to go!“

“I was visiting KC for work and wanted to find a place to watch the KU vs KState game but also be able to throw some darts. This spot had good online reviews so I stopped in. It was packed with a lot of folks ready for the game and some others shooting pool. As you walk up there is a patio out front with other folks sitting outside having a smoke or just relaxing. I'm not a regular there but had no issues getting service and felt welcomed in by others around me. Definitely a place I'll visit again when I'm in town!I did not eat there so I can't speak to the food.“

“Just AMAZING!We were celebrating 2 birthdays and chose Governor Stumpy’s. Staff is amazing, very personable and on their game! Chris came and spoke to us specifically about our steak and hamburger orders. Incredibly knowledgeable about how beef should be cooked to have the most flavor. She also has a wonderful sense of humor. If you are still reading this long review, you need to know what happened at the end of our meal to understand how truly amazing everyone is at Governor Stumpy’s. I had a medical emergency and was unable to walk. I was guided to a table and I lost consciousness. I’m not sure how long I sat there, but a doctor who was eating at the restaurant was immediately called over. I believe Chris stayed with me the whole time too. After 20-30 minutes and I felt I could move, Chris had her staff surround me and line up all the way to the back door (I’m pretty sure this is how it happened, but things were a bit fuzzy) to help me to our car to go to the ER. I did not want to have an ambulance come and they respected that. I am not a religious person, but I felt like Chris and her staff were angels surrounding me to help me through this scary situation. I am fine now and can’t wait to go back to Governor Stumpy’s. Thank you a million times over to everyone!“

“I stopped for lunch today in Stillwell. Bought three Bourbon Burgers with fries . After getting back to the crew 10 minutes later and cracking the box open, I was immediately impressed with the burger and the fries. We are all over the city and have had many different burgers from well known spots. I have to say it was so great that I made it a point to drive all the way back to tip the truck an additional tip. A little worrisome but place was friendly and service was good. Typical bar selections... Some with Aussie names. The burger was good. The chicken salad was good... And our modifications were all followed. The fish and chips were crispy with a good flavor and my wife was thrilled it wasn't beer batter. I had the pork tenderloin which was prepped just like my wife prefers them... Thin and juicy. My onion rings were also crunchy and hot. I was surprised by the lack of an Aussie beer. But I like Blue Moon and it's ok without an orange. Prices were reasonable. This is close to my brother-in-law's house and would make a great place to gather. If it was close to my house it'd been on regular rotation as we were well satisfied.“

“We had never been to this Johnnys location and wanted to try it. Our server was a bit annoying. I'm in my upper 60's and this young kid kept referring to me as "boss". I ordered a burger and asked for lots of jalapeños to be added. When my burger came, i had no jalapeño and our server was chatting with buddies. This johnnys is better than 95th and Antioch but not as good as the one on 119th off Metcalf.“
