“Elsie’s is a favorite of mine so it was a no brainer to go there for my birthday back in March. It was the first time for my boyfriend, who’s from Kenner, and he was throughly impressed. We got the red bean hummus and crawfish queso to start because I think EVERY MEAL should start with those two. The entrees were delectable as always and to top it all off, they had my all time favorite pie in the case. We took home a whole chocolate pecan pie because who needs birthday cake when you can have birthday pie?!?! All in all, a perfect evening at Elsie’s as always.“
“We were vacationing in Baton Rouge, and it being a Saturday, there weren’t many places open for dinner in the downtown area. Luckily, we stumbled upon Cecilia’s Creole Bistro which is open from 4 to 9pm. Upon entering, we were greeted, and the restaurant was very clean, quaint, not crowded, and with a great ambience. The speakeasy music lent to the ambience. They had a great menu, with interesting options. The food was absolutely delicious. What was really nice, was the constant water fill-up…no need to ask for it ?. The service was exceptional and always with a heartfelt smile, especially by our server, Malaine. The service she provided was the icing on the cake.p.s. the Cornbread Skillet is to die for. Too bad, I live 1300 miles away ☹!“
“What a treat. We had a convention and training in Houston and wound up here at lunch. It was excellent. Going to the bar and talk to Caleb. He did an excellent job even ordering up all the different sauces that the house made so we could choose our favorite. A great restaurant with excellent servers“
“I ordered Shrimp and Grits they were phenomenal the boudin balls crusted with crushed cracklin were a little mushy and were kind of sweet. The place was made to look high end but lacked some ambiance. The home made bread was fantastic but they only bring one and did not offer more unless you ask. The server otherwise was very attentive, I would go back again.“
“Customer service is great, the girl behind counter was very friendly and helpful being my family and I had never been there! Food is excellent!! If I could get the cold products they sell shipped to me in Florida, I’d have a freezer full.“
“Went with some friends. It was not my first time and everything was really good. I will go again with my husband.Parking: There is free parking, we knew they did, however it's really wasn't enough for lots of cars to park.Kid-friendliness: Yes. We have a few small ones and they had small plate items for them.Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure, Didn't pay attention.“
“Easily the best salmon I've ever eaten. the server (I can't remember his name but he was a history teacher primarily) was amazing and very engaging with us. he even had no problem going back and forth between the kitchen and our table to ensure my dairy-free girlfriend could still have something delicious. truly a restaurant worth returning to if you are in the area.“
“I haven't been to The Chimes since I was working in Baton Rouge years ago. Today I had lunch with my daughter and granddaughter who is now a student at LSU. The place is just as good as I remember! Great food, great service, and a nice casual atmosphere. I had the Pork Scallopini - outstanding! Crispy fried, thin cut pork and rich linguini alfredo. The blue cheese dressing for the salad must have been made locally and had a wonderful flavor. A little bread was crispy on the outside and delicious.White chocolate bread pudding with pecans on top were a great finish to this wonderful meal.I apologize that my meal in the photo was half eaten. I dove right in before my brain kicked in.“
“Oh man, this is place is dangerous. Best seafood I've ever had, not just in Louisiana, but in my entire life. Freshness is one thing but that flavor cannot be beat. We went with our server's recommendations of the various daily specials and each entree knocked it out of the park. I genuinely cannot understand how something can be this good. A real gem in Baton Rouge. We contemplated coming back a second time during our very short trip because we feared nothing would live up to it- obviously untrue, such amazing food all around in the South - but an absolute must for anyone visiting the area.“
“Delicious fresh food. We had the gumbo and potato salad and it was the bomb. It was full of chunks of chicken and sausage and the tater salad was greatIt's a family business and the people were super friendly. If you're craving a reasonably priced bowl of delicious after your Costco run, these guys are the ticket.“
“Extremely rude workers. They delete comments if they don't like the review. We had a party of 10 and waited like they asked then they tried to seat us at a table for 6 people. Five people would be piled on top of each other on a booth. asked to add a table ( there were 3 empty tables right by us) they said no but we could wait an additional hour for a table. asked for manager and a girl comes out saying she is manager. No apologies no nothing. We did call ahead and were told no same day reservations but they had a big enough table to accommodate us. I have been reading reviews and there are a ton similar to our experience. It's starting to seem they do not want to accommodate large parties and try to make the experience so unbearable that they eventually leave. We ALWAYS tip over 25 percent even when service sucks. Their loss!!“
“If you’re looking for amazing food in Baton Rouge that’s authentic this is the place to come. You might as well try a little bit of everything from their hot line because it’s all amazing. If you’re there on a Sunday you have to get some crawfish pie.“
“The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu which included the French onion soup, fried oyster salad and for entrees we ate the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict and Short Rib Benedict. The manger was so gracious as to give me a small bottle of champagne to take home since all the desserts were made with chocolate and I am allergic. We will definitely be back for the dinner menu. Fantastic table side service, beautiful ambiance and excellent master chef food.“
“What a cool place...This was a great choice for dinner. It has really cool decor and a great environment. It is casual but upscale where you go there to watch sports, have a business meeting, or even a date. The service was off the hook awesome - Emily is a Rockstar waitress. The food was delicious. We had the gator bits as an appetizer. I had the catfish lebeaux, which was great. My friend had the delta queen and really enjoyed it. This is a great place to have a great meal.“
“We enjoyed the Pork Chop and awesome gravy & rice plate with BOMB Mac n Cheese and good smoked favored green beans. Corn bread and delicious cake to top it off. When I say this food is good, it blessed my soul. Thanks TJ’s will be back!“
“It was a nice restaurant. The waitress was busy so I understand waiting for things longer than normal. The food was good. I got the Louisiana hot chicken meal and it wasn’t overwhelming with spicy, which I loved. Whatever glaze they put on it gave it a great finish. It reminded me of the chipotle chicken tenders that you can get at chilis. I would come back and try other items on the menu“
“Great Food and Great Atmosphere!! Had my daughter's LSU Graduation lunch here and Stacey, the general manager, could not have been more accommodating. Terrence, our server, was awesome!! Even though we had a party of twenty, he kept drinks filled, got our food to us in a timely manner, and always had a smile on his face! Thank you Southern Pearl!! Great Job!!“
“first I love cracklins...but somehow the ones I get from Ronnie's have been very hard..like under the lights too long... next...as much as I love chicken cracklins...to be driving down the Interstate and see feathers on your next bite of cracklins really turns the stomach. makes me wonder if I had already ingested feathers from the previous ones I had eaten..“
“I’m fairly new to University Seafood and I absolutely love the crawfish. They are always hot and just enough spice. The flavor is amazing, please don’t ever change your recipe. It’s my “go-to” now. Used to be Tony’s Seafood, but now it’s University Seafood! They are consistent. Been there 4 times now. And every time they are absolutely delicious. Thank you!“
“Thank you Jubans! Roslyn worked exceptionally well on our Mom's Birthday dinner. No detail was overlooked from the delious menu selections, to incorporating our custom made menu cards. The evening of event Rhett "the captain" along with Carter, and Conner provided exceptional service! Our Mom, family along with all of the guests enjoyed the celebration, atmosphere, and superb dinner!“
“Fresh seafood to make your own meals, great cooked seafood on weekdays only...try their fried catfish and shrimp platters. They have great boiled crawfish in season, as well as all the extras like boiled potatoes and mushrooms.Just go by there and see what they have. You can definitely find seafood for any kind of meal.“
“Seafood was really good. Crab legs were good size. Crawfish were tiny but still good. They also did not have any blue crabs so they substituted head on shrimp. I dinged them one star because They did not inform me they were out of blue crab at the time that I ordered nor did they ask me what I would like to substitute it with.. I may have ordered something else. Or chose something else other than head on shtimp as the replacement item“
“At the recommendation of Gabriel, our super nice waiter, I tried the Debris Po boy... But I did it his way! No mayo, a little horseradish, spinach, peppers, pickles, tomatoes... And it was great! My wife had Tomato Basil soup, and it was super tasty! Prices were reasonable, food was good. Place was super clean... The local police Sergeant agreed...“
“Love this Walk On's location. This location is better than the one located down corporate in town center. We had a very nice waitress, I don't remember her name but she had blonde curly hair. She was super sweet and made our experience great. We went on college night which was super packed and busy but our burger came out in a reasonable amount of time. College night is a great deal. The scholarship burger is only $5 and comes with fries and toppings. The burger was a little pink in the middle but is understandable with how many burgers they were probably cooking that afternoon. Loved that our waitress kept checking up on us and making sure we didn't need anything else.“
“Ate here this week. I had the Appetizer Trio: mozzarella sticks, rocket shrimp with a spicy aioli and crawfish beignets. It was delicious. I could not eat all of it. Friend had the Turkey and Bacon jam panini. Also very tasty. I had never had Bacon Jam. It could become a fave.“
“This was the first time my husband and I visited this establishment. The staff was extremely friendly. We ordered tamales, boudin balls, and fish and shrimp plates. We have absolutely no complaints about the food. We are looking forward to returning and trying other food.“
“This is the REAL deal! You if are looking for authentic Cajon cuisine this is your place. Staff is super friendly (gave us a ton of yummy samples). The real treat was meeting (Writ) the owner (he is a national treasure) he even gave us a tour of his place to include the welding shop and smoke pit.“
