“I grew up eating here from the time I was going to school across the street. This is one of those reasons you come home periodically. The original owner Mrs. Jeneau was a treasure. She treated us kids back then like we where her own. Now, Mrs. Nina has kept the atmosphere alive and the original foods true to form. She has has added flavors to the menu and that has made it uniquely her's, as well. I can not go home without getting my weenie sandwich. It's just a must. I have been ordering one since 1960. Don't pass it up. You can thank me latter...”

“We recently came for dinner, excited to try a new spot close to home. Unfortunately, our experience fell short in several areas, though we truly believe this place has potential if some key improvements are made. First, the service was lacking—wait times was a little excessive (there were 3 tables it shouldn’t take 15 minutes to get drinks), our table wasn’t given silverware or plates for our appetizer until we asked, condiments weren’t stocked, and refills were nonexistent. Went to grab my own ketchup since I didn’t get my sauces I ordered and couldn’t get a hold of a server… every bottle was empty. There was no check in until after the whole table had already boxed their food themselves. For the price point of the menu, we expected better service from the staff and a more consistent execution from the kitchen. A bit more attentiveness from the staff would go a long way in enhancing the overall dining experience. As for the food, there were some hits and misses. The Creole Bleu fries were great, creating high expectations for the entrees to come. My seafood platter was decent—the fish and shrimp were cooked well—but the hush puppies were cold, onion rings were overly greasy and difficult to eat. My dad’s steak was ordered medium-rare but arrived cold and blue-rare, which was disappointing. Additionally, the pasta dishes at our table were overly watery, which took away from the flavors we were expecting. We truly want to see this restaurant succeed because it’s in a great location and has promise. With some attention to detail in service and consistency in food preparation, this could become a go-to spot for locals. We hope to give it another try in the future and see improvements!”

“On our first visit in Marrero, Jasmine was our waitress. My husband has to have limitations with his food choices. No problem, Jasmine helped with suggestions and the cook prepared it perfectly. Now on my 2nd visit, Jasmine not only remembered me but asked where was my husband. She not only remembered us but what we ate. As I dined alone, she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable! And then as I placed a take-out order for my husband, she had suggestions due to his salt restrictions in his diet. What a memory! In my life, I have NEVER met anyone with such a remarkable memory - and she is so kind and helpful. We will be regulars now. Jasmine - here we come. Thank you for helping us so much!!! “Bought two sacks for Easter Sunday. First the sacks were over 40 lbs each which not something you find with other places. Next the size of these mini lobsters were huge. Lastly they were the cleanest I have ever gotten or seen. Will be doing business with Johnny’s again.”

“My boyfriend and I visited this little bar a few weeks ago in New Orleans with his father who goes often. It made me think of the old show "Cheers". The small bar was packed (they were having a pool tournament), but just about every person greeted him. It has a real "family" feel, even for new people to the bar. Check it out if you get a chance!”

The cafe was cozy and had lots of beautiful plants all around, which I loved. I was able to sit in a comfy chair, read my book, and enjoy my little treats loved it.

I love the sesame chicken and their shrimp and broccoli and don’t forget to add a shrimp egg roll. If someone has had a bad expirience I can almost promise you it’s the exception.
