“Magnificent, delectable food, made with love and care. Probably the best brunch in Boston, despite the menu being small. The pastry and bread spread is dionysian in its depth and excellence.”
“I attended an event yesterday at this amazing Restaurant. The atmosphere is so inviting, the drinks were delicious. Food was absolutely scrumptious. And the staff all so kind and friendly. I highly recommend stopping in for a cocktail or dinner, you won’t be disappointed!!!”

“Outdoor dining at its best. Fun casual spot near the harbor where you order at a trailer and wait to hear your name called. Reasonably priced lobster roll and tasty sides. A great option for people trying to see the downtown area who don't want to wait two hours for a table at a sit-down restaurant. I will definitely hit this spot on my next trip to Boston.”

“We were visiting from the Midwest and stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. Amazing food blending delicious flavors! The chef/owner checked in with us multiple times. Hadn’t read her story until after we ate. So impressed and was happy to support her restaurant!”
“Cozy spot and can have a long wait time, but it’s well worth it. Miso butter cod was one of the best things I’ve had in the city. Service was good, waiter explained everything and answered any questions we had. Definitely a spot I would return to Boston for.”
“Walked in Saturday lunchtime, our party of two got in faster than they predicted, maybe within 10 minutes. Great food and service. Large parties were getting hour plus wait times, so beware.”

“10/10 if you like wine and good food, don't waste your time anywhere else. I have been going here for years, for just an after work drink or for celebrating something special like my engagement or a new job. Every time I am just blown away by the quality of the wine, food, and service. This place is my home 🧡”
“Left another place to come here because the customer service was bad. What a 180. Citizen staff was friendly, great w/suggestions and helped secure me a seat at their busy bar. Had two great cocktails and a delicious pepper seared filet. Well done Citizen Pub!! I will be back!”
“This restaurant was exceptional!!!! The food was authentic, flavorful and delicious. The corn cakes were amazing. Price and service were excellent. We thought it was just take out and were pleasantly surprised to see about 20 people could sit down. If I lived here, this would be my GO TO! Thank you for a great food experience.”
“Went to get lunch when we got to Boston. Was close by our hotel and I love craft beer so was excited to try something local. Split the burger for lunch which was excellent. Tried three different beers and enjoyed each one. They didn’t do flights but do offer small pours so it made it easy to try different brews.
Venue was nice as well and easy to get to in the Seaport area.”
“Piatti buoni e curati , cucina meditteranea ben interpretata”
“Had dinner at Lucy's while adventuring and it was hands down incredible! Everything was outstanding. The staff, the food, the environment, right down to the ice cold water and beer! 🤣 I will definetly be going again, because I wanted everything on the menu! Thank you Lucy's!”

“This is the perfect spot, especially since it's in Boston Children's Hospital. Good for what you need in the morning or afternoon, it's up-to-date, clean, and moves very quickly, so you don't have a long wait. They've got everything you need on the menu—great coffee drinks, the whole nine yards.”
“This chain coffee shop located outside North Station offers affordable and delicious coffee as well as a variety of donuts to choose from at affordable prices.

“We had an incredible experience at Grill 23 & Bar — easily the best steakhouse we’ve been to in Boston. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The food was phenomenal. We ordered both the filet mignon and the ribeye, and each steak was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and truly outstanding. The sides were just as memorable — the macaroni and cheese was rich and comforting, the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared, and the mashed potatoes were smooth and delicious. Adding the Béarnaise sauce on the side was absolutely worth it and paired beautifully with the steaks. Dessert was the perfect ending: warm chocolate chip cookies served with vanilla ice cream — simple, classic, and done flawlessly. A huge highlight of the evening was our waiter, Bernardo. We will absolutely be requesting him on future visits. He offered thoughtful suggestions, anticipated our needs effortlessly, and somehow managed to be there exactly when we needed him — and never when we didn’t, if that makes sense. Just genuinely attentive, professional, and welcoming service that elevated the entire experience. An unforgettable dinner all around. We can’t wait to come back.”
“Visited this wonderful little restaurant after visiting the old North Church. Can’t say enough about service the menu with that creativity and the simple ambience”
Takeout Restaurants
“Breakfast newbie, heard great things, went, ordered of a limited yet varietal menu, sat outside in first come first serve seats, food made to order was out with minimal wait, delivered to our table. Theenu is primarily breakfast sandwiches, some with an Italian flair (foccacciabread for example). Limited GF options but they offered a corn wrap. The food is very good, the staff is friendly, and a good place to have a quick bite for breakfast”

“THIS PLACE WENT FROM BEING ONE OF THE BEST GEMS TO A PLACE THAT FEELS SO UNCOMFORTABLE TO EVEN SET A FOOT IN. I'VE BEEN TO THIS PLACE FOR OVER 10 YEARS, SINCE PANDEMIC HAVE NOT GONE. WE FINALLY WENT, THE MINUTE I WALKED IN THE PERSON AT CASHIER SAID WHEN YOUR READY TO ORDER YOU COME HERE, BLINDED BY IT AS IS A RESTAURANT NOT A FAST FOOD SPOT I LOOKED AT HER AND ASK FOR THE MENU SHE LOOKS AT ME AND POINTS INFRONT OF HER TO GO GET IT MIND YOU, THERE ARE 3 OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND HER WHO WORK THERE .....I LET IT PASS AND TRIED TO GIVE THIS PLACE A SECOND CHANCE COMING BACK THE FOLLOWING WEEK AS THE FOOD ACTUALLY WAS GOOD THE WEEK PRIOR. WELL SERVICE WAS ONLY WORSE THIS TIME AROUND, THE WOMAN AT CASHIER LOOKED BOTHER BY JUST BEING THERE TAKING OUR ORDER AS THE TIME PRIOR OTHER PEOPLE BEHIND HER WHO ALSO WORKED THERE STANDING JUST THERE. WE GET OUR FOOD REALIZING I GOT CORN TORTILLAS ASKED IF THEY CAN BE SWITCHED TO FLOURONE OF THE EMPLOYEES RESPONSE WELL IF YOU DON'T EAT THEM THERE GOING TO THE TRASH AND I AM LOOKING AT HER LIKE OKAY IS FINE CAN I PAY FOR AN EXTRA ORDER OF TORTILLAS OF FLOUR. THE AMOUNT OF DISPLEASSURE THESE WOMAN HAVE BEING THEIR IS SO UNCOMFORTABLE DON'T SPEND YOUR MONEY WHERE YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SERVED, ASIDE FROM THE FOOD FEELING SO RUSH THIS TIME AROUND AS WE GOT THERE AT 8 THEY CLOSED AT 10PM. I UNDERSTAND RESTAUTANT INDUSTRY IS NOT EASY BUT FOR ME TO GO TO AND SPEND MY MONEY IN A PLACE THAT FEELS SO FORCED TO WORK IS NOT WORTH MY TIME NOR MONEY.”
“In Boston during FB season and searched for a Packer Bar - BansheeBar kept showing up and when asking around they were the #1 recommended place. FUN atmosphere, met Packer fans from all over, bartender Joy was amazing and took great care of everything! Would absolutely recommend. BansheeBar Boston Packers Everywhere”
“The hype around this restaurant was insane. After weeks of trying, I was able to snag a reservation 30 days out and as the date got closer, I was sure I was in for a hell of a let down.
It was actually quite the opposite. We had a reservation for 2 at 8:30 pm and were seated within 10 minutes of our arrival (we arrived 15 minutes early). The restaurant does a great job of staggering their seating so the kitchen can properly flow and doesn't get backed up.
The atmosphere was really nice, warm and enjoyable. My wife and I were able to talk the whole time. The waitress was very kind and friendly. She kept us entertained and ensured our anniversary dinner was special. The drinks were really good and the food was ridiculous. Everything we had was amazing and I would be hard pressed to identify a dish I would consider not ordering to be able to taste something different.
This place is definitely worth the hype and am hoping I can snag another reservation in the months to come.”
“By far the best, authentic Italian food in the North End. We have dined at several restaurants but the service, ambience and food is the best! They make their own pasta and sauces daily. I cannot recommend Casarecce enough. Delicioso.”
“Amazing! Every bite was delish! First visit and will be back for sure!”
Drive-Thru Restaurants
“This is a mixed bag for me. Tiny place and basic service. I’ve been 3 times, different menu each time. Two of the three times, I found almost all the dishes delicious and interesting (I always have the omnivore menu) m. One time was just bland all around and one dish was very unbalanced and too acidic. It’s BYOB, which I really like (the wine is always excellent, ha ha). I’m so done with QR code menus though.”
“8/18/25
Our server was wonderful, accommodated to some strange requests.
- Patatas Bravas: mildly crispy, aioli and salsa had great flavor
- Entrants a la Parrilla: skirt steak
- Pintxos Morunos: my mom’s favorite of our orders; lamb dish.
- Pulpo a la Plancha
Everything we ordered was great.”
“Baleia is a small Portugese Tapas restaurant, serving up a wide range of dishes in the Ink Block area. The dining room has a polished, lively energy with a stylish atmosphere that makes it feel equally suited for a date night, special occasion, or a longer dinner with friends. The space leans upscale while still feeling welcoming.
The menu takes Portuguese flavors and presents them through a more modern lens, with several dishes consistently standing out. The Portuguese sweet rolls appear to be one of the signatures of the restaurant, with a great taste to start off the meal. The Shrimp Mozambique is another standout, served with a flavorful broth that works well when soaked up with extra bread. For those looking to explore more of the menu, the tasting option offers a broad introduction to the kitchen's approach, though many diners seem equally happy building their own meal from individual dishes.
Service is one of Baleia’s strongest qualities. Staff are warm welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about guiding guests through the menu. The dining experience feels polished without being stiff, with attentive pacing and thoughtful recommendations contributing as much to the meal as the food itself. While opinions occasionally vary on specific dishes or seasoning levels, the consistency of the hospitality stands out across a wide range of visits.
What makes Baleia especially appealing is how it combines the comfort and familiarity of Portuguese cooking with a more contemporary restaurant experience. Between the inviting atmosphere, strong service, and a menu filled with dishes designed for sharing and exploration, it feels like a restaurant built for memorable nights out rather than quick meals. Whether you're stopping in for a few small plates and cocktails or settling in for a full tasting experience, Baleia delivers the kind of experience that keeps people planning a return visit before they've even left the table.”
“Words don’t accurately describe the best chowder I’ve ever had. And doing so in a cozy dockside spot by a window overlooking a snowy bay and pier. You’ll have to experience it yourself, and do so frequently!”
Fine Dining
“We had a wonderful experience! Food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. Our server was awesome 👌 such a fantastic atmosphere Filet mashed truffle fries asparagus mac with added lobster wedge salad martini wine cookie skillet EVERYTHING was superb”
“The presentation was impressive; each course arrived like a small work of art, and the kitchen clearly takes pride in the visual experience.
Where it falls short is value. Honestly, it just wasn’t worth the price.
Worth noting: I experienced some stomach discomfort during the meal, which I’ll attribute to possible sensitivity to raw fish rather than anything on the restaurant’s end.
Beautiful to look at, but there are likely better options at a friendlier price.”
“I eat at Asta several times a year, and every visit is excellent. The food is consistently delicious, and the tasting menu always surprises me with interesting dishes and new flavors.
The service is warm and attentive, and there is always a welcoming atmosphere that makes every meal special. Sitting at the counter and watching the intricate food preparation adds to the experience.
Highly recommended!”
“Wink and Nod delivers exactly the kind of speakeasy experience you hope for when you duck down into a hidden bar. The real standout of the night was our bartender Jonathan — genuinely one of the best I've encountered in Boston. Personality-wise, he struck that perfect balance of engaging and attentive without ever hovering or making the conversation feel forced.
What impressed me most was his depth of knowledge. He walked us through several of the scratch-made liqueurs they craft in-house, explaining the botanicals and infusion process behind each one like he'd built them himself (because he probably had). When we couldn't decide between a few options, he took the time to actually taste-test ingredients with us and adjust recommendations based on what we liked — real patience, no rushing us along even as the place got busier.
The cocktails themselves were excellent: well-balanced, creative, and clearly made with care rather than just poured from a formula.
Then came the food. James Beard nominee Chef Valentine Howell's pop-up, Black Cat, brings a unique fusion of Afro-Caribbean flavors to the menu, and eating here felt like a spiritual experience. The menu offered so many tempting choices it was hard to narrow down. We started with the goat patties as an appetizer — seasoned to perfection, moist, and packed with flavor. We also ordered the griot, twice-cooked pork belly served with pikliz, pickled onion, and ti malice. It was tender and bursting with flavor, the kind of dish that makes you slow down and savor every bite.
We finished with the Jamaican ginger cake, topped with cream cheese frosting and a toasted coconut crumble — totally sumptuous and the perfect ending to the meal.
The owner even stopped by our table to check in and make sure we were enjoying ourselves — such a kind, welcoming touch that made the whole night feel even more special.
The drinks, the food, and truly exceptional service — made it well worth it. Will definitely be back. Hands down, 5 stars.”
“Phil’s team always does a fantastic job. Well worth the money for a unique experience, delicious cocktails, and a charismatic bartenders who are experts in their craft. Every menu has a clear vision and creative plays on known cocktails, or just great brand-new ideas. You won’t regret booking a night here (or a season pass)! If you can’t get a reservation, late-night walk-ins are also an option. Huge shout out to Suzae, Trevor, and Skye who always make the night so much fun.”
“Plenty of space and foods varying from American, Mexican, New Zealand, Asian, and some fusions. Bar is okay but the environment is nice. Sometimes people study here. They usually televised big events on the screens.”
“Everything is absolutely delicious! Hummus and Veggie Stew are highly recommended. Courteous staff. Cozy vibe. First-rate!!”

“It matches the hype. The Sicilian Pizza is…perfect. There’s not enough superlatives to do it justice and if there were, even then it wouldn’t reach hyperbole. Craziest thing of it all is the pricing. Four slices, arancini, and a drink for $16.00? How? In today’s economy how are they keeping the price this low? Also amazing. Just go. Don’t think about it, don’t pass go, don’t collect $200…go get your dang perfect slice.”
“On the slightly pricier side for a takeout (there is no sitting area and even standing to order or wait was a little tight). Service was fast and friendly. Food was nice and pleasant- not life changing. I would definitely revisit if near but not smth I would make a special trip for”
“I had visited post-lunch (~2pm). The prices (I think) are pretty reasonable (compared to places like other nearby Korean places (granted Coreanos advertises both Korean and Korean fusion). I ordered a small order (about 6 wings, plenty for one serving) of Spicy Soy Garlic Chicken wings and dined in. It comes with a side of pickled radish which is a nice palate cleanser especially for something like Korean Fried Chicken. It was still fresh from the fryer and plenty juice with a crispy batter and a flavorful sauce. I definitely want to come back to try some of their other dishes. I feel like it is also a good place to give some Korean dishes a try without overspending.”
“We made reservations online for the Omaska. It was $300 which broke down to $120 per person with tip and tax. The tables were perfectly space out. They gave us a 2 hour limit which was enough time for the 12 course Omaska. Presentation on everything was amazing. Each course was fresh and delicious in their own way. It was hard to hear the man over his mask so I couldn't get any names. We had uni, tuna belly, scallops, and more. All the Courses were small but packed with favor. You can take there was attention to detail in the ingredients and presentation. Definitely, worth the money was a special event like a birthday. Would definitely come back”
“Manager Alex helped me out, we also had a really awesome conversation, overall he was very inviting and welcoming, and I noticed his interaction with the team while I ate my meal everyone seemed happy and smiling, it was relatively slow while so I enjoyed my meal comfortably and quietly. If you go here have Alex build your bowl and thank me later😊”
“Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend.”
“First time in the city and this was an amazing dinner for us. The food is delicious.”
“Service was attentive, respectful and quick, food was reasonably priced for what my wife and I ordered and delicious, atmosphere/decor were nice for the area and not far from our hotel. Will definitely return again when we're back in town!”
“We booked the private dining area and had a great experience. Service was great and we were not rushed at all. Food and drinks were good and the overall booking process with Zoey was easy and transparent.”

“extremely attentive staff, our meal was brought very promptly. bathroom could accommodate my wheelchair easily. we loved spending a special night there, and are already looking forward to our return visit”
“Sea bream and monkfish were amazing!
It is difficult to find sea bream in Boston restaurants.
They did an amazing job preparing/cooking it.
Highly recommend this place to sea food lovers.”
“My husband and I had dinner last Sunday night. It was a beautiful experience with impeccable service. I am going to remember my quail dish for a very long time. Highly recommend”

“What a perfect place to destress and enjoy an excellent meal. Wine choices was excellent . The staff are all warm and friendly. Absolutely recommend this place.”
“A treasure of a restaurant on busy Cambridge St - walk through the door and you’re in a different world. Servers quickly become friends. Great spot for a romantic dinner for two but still a place where a solo diner feels welcome. Wonderful menu with choices for the adventurous and not so adventurous eater. My new favorite spot for lunch or dinner in Boston.”

“We had a terrific experience on Saturday night. Everyone from front-of-house staff to the waitstaff was so friendly and professional! They made my gf’s birthday special and we enjoyed our time.”
“My husband and I just flew into Boston for the first time and our taxi driver recommended this restaurant. It could not have been any better. Our waiter was amazing, our steak and drinks were perfect. It was a great experience after a very long flight.”
“Left another place to come here because the customer service was bad. What a 180. Citizen staff was friendly, great w/suggestions and helped secure me a seat at their busy bar. Had two great cocktails and a delicious pepper seared filet. Well done Citizen Pub!! I will be back!”

“My wife and I have enjoyed the Restaurant scene in Boston privately and professionally for over thirty years. Right now Aqua Pazza is my absolute favorite spot in the city! Aqua Pazza is kicking on my all three important points. Food, service and ambiance. Simply, I love the place!!!”
“We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience at Kenzoku Mazesoba. The flavors were perfectly distributed, the sauce perfectly seasoned, and our server super helpful! We will be back!”
“Great food and pet darn fast actually. My wife had the shrimp scampi with linguine and I had the stuffed calamari over black squid ink linguine. 🤌🏽👌🏽👍🏽”

“The quality and presentation of the food was top notch. We were incredibly impressed by the dining room layout and staff. If you are looking for a place to propose to your significant other… this is NOT the appropriate place. As I mentioned the food was the finest I’ve ever had; however, the music was terrible. We felt like we were in a 1990’s discotheque. The music was loud, very heavy beat and not remotely romantic. We did mention to our waitstaff and they attempted to get it turned down to no avail. No coffee or dessert available either. I understand space is limited; however you have two of the finest dessert businesses well within walking distance. Even if you only carry two desserts. I would still go back there for the food with the hopes of different music…even soft jazz would be acceptable.”
“Immerse yourself into a hidden world at the Next Door Speakeasy. This bar is small, but perfectly intentional.
We absolutely loved the vibe and the service that we received. The cocktails were great! Between the two of us we got a gin based drink (purple rain) and a rum based drink (lock & key) and some truffle fries. We loved our drinks, and our bartender- absolute top notch service!
This place can get busy, so you’ll need reservations and you’ll need a password to get in. They’ve been open for about five years, so if you haven’t ventured in yet, definitely put this place on your list!

“By far our favorite restaurant anywhere. Amazing food, oustanding service and attentative staff. My wife and I have tried a lot of different meals at Tresca and have loved them all. No matter what you order, you will not be disappointed. Chef Rich does an amazing job!”
“We recently celebrated our son baptism at Trade, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From our very first conversation with Inna, we felt taken care of. She was incredibly responsive, organized, and helpful in guiding us through the planning process, making everything feel effortless and stress-free.
On the day of the event, the hospitality was exceptional. The servers were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure both we and our guests had a wonderful experience. The food was outstanding, and our guests are still talking about it. The Rosa Ritas and Espresso Martinis were huge hits and quickly became favorites of the afternoon!
The atmosphere was warm, stylish, and welcoming, creating the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful family celebration. Every detail came together beautifully, and we are so grateful to the entire Trade team for helping make our celebration so special.
I cannot recommend Trade highly enough. If you’re looking for a venue for a private event, family celebration, or special occasion Trade is the place to go!”
“Great New Years Eve dinner! Food was great. Staff was amazing. Will be back again!”
“Amazing dining experience! The lamb chops were perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and definitely one of the best dishes on the menu.
The restaurant’s location near the harbor offers a great waterfront view, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. On top of that, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and professional from start to finish.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food with beautiful harbor views. I will definitely be back!”
“Food is truly on another level, all ramen elsewhere has been ruined for me.”
“First experience at LFG and wont be our last! Food was ON POINT! So much food and everything was delicious ! Fantastic gluten-free options and super mindful of allergies/safety. Michelle our server was fantastic and accommodating and helped us celebrate our daughter’s birthday. LFG has a whole new meaning! Let’s flipping go (LFG) to Lla Familia Giorgios (LFG)!”
“This is an excellent restaurant 100% Greek food and drinks Excellent menu and service Nice vibe and atmosphere- tables inside and out (with heaters) Our daughter is coeliac and therefore cannot eat gluten. The staff were 100% up to speed with a marked up menu and awareness of cross contamination etc Well done p.s One tip for the owners - you have done all the work on GF - why not put the GF menu on the website or mark up the main menu and get the extra custom”
“Husband and I went to Maggiano's for the first time today. The food was fantastic and the portions are huge. Our waitress Marisa was very attentive and made sure we had everything we need during our meal here. Highly recommend and we can't wait to come back!”

“The food was amazing! Super friendly, kind, and efficient staff. The seven course meal is out of this world and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Boston.”
“This was sincerely our favorite activity while in Boston. Bonnie expertly guided us through the meal, and her attention to detail enhanced the experience. They can accommodate a variety of diets; the vegetarian option was absolutely delicious, and clearly well curated. Entire tea service was charming.”

“the service is a bit slow. However, this can be attributed to the fact that Cool Shade's quality of food is fresher than its competitors. The quality comes out it the taste of the food. The dining area is small and cozy. If the service can be improved the restaurant would be around for a long time.”
“Great food. The Pattie’s were made to order and the soup freshly made. Great service and food.. This place is a breath of fresh air in Mattapan. If you haven’t tried it yet hat are you waiting for. Don’t look at the negative reviews as they are just disgruntled competitors looking to create a bad reputation for a hard working business. Give the place a try for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.”

“we had a wonderful experience all around on a busy Sunday. The manager, Russ, greeted us with a warm smile, setting the tone for a great evening. we sat outside and Jorge F, took great care of us. He was prompt but we never felt rushed. the food was excellent, the Lobster cones are a great new item. we also had the classic mussels. The grilled salmon was delicious. Russ was leading his team through a busy shift but was able to make time to ensure everything was just right. The best in the Seaport.”
“We were celebrating our 16th anniversary and my retirement, and wanted to do it up right! We picked the right place for it. Coming in from Cape Cod, for a concert at Fenway we had reservations for Abe and Louie’s, but there were 2 at the bar so they let us sit there instead of our table. Our bartenders were great. To our surprise, Bree almost immediately said “Happy Anniversary!” And our drink order was taken. Michelle made a spicy margarita with a nice kick and a heavy glass, and a soda. Then we ordered shrimp cocktail which were brought out in mere moments. The shrimp were huge and cold and crunchy- perfect! We took our time and were not rushed to order our meal, but once we did, with Kendal, she asked all the right questions, offered to split our salad in the kitchen, and made some great recommendations. I wanted my Filet with their wedge salad as my entree and was told no problem. Our meal, my huge filet and my man’s ribeye were both cooked as requested and his suggested garlic whipped potatoes were creamy and yummy! The food was all out of this world, but what made the dining a true experience was the tango these three women danced around each other, each knowing what the other was doing and exactly what their patrons wanted. You can get a great filet many places but I pay for the service and we both felt like we were treated like royalty. Thank you Bree, Kendal and Michelle for making our anniversary and my retirement a true celebration!!”
“My wife and I visited Bricco during our first trip to Boston, and let me tell you, it was amazing! Top notch service provided by Manuel Machuca - He was outstanding, and incredibly helpful. The food was upscale and delicious and the atmosphere cozy, inviting, and perfect for date night.”
“Waitstaff was kind and informative. Everything was clean and beautiful. The music was nice for the atmosphere, not too loud but still present.
The beef Wellington was amazing, as expected. My husband had the filet mignon and for a starter we had the steak tartare.
The steak tartare was very light and clean tasting. Incredibly pleasant and the bread sticks served with it were the perfect crunch for an amazing texture combination.
The beef Wellington was perfectly flakey, and cut like a dream. Everything melted in my mouth. The potato puree was buttery and a wonderful compliment to the Wellington. The carrots were the best I've had had for a simple powerful veggie.
My husband ate the filet too fast for me to get a read on but that speaks for itself.”
“Mike's Pastry is one of Boston's most iconic bakeries and a place that almost every visitor has on their list. Walking in, it's easy to see why it has remained so popular for decades. The display cases are packed with cannoli, cakes, cookies, lobster tails, and countless Italian pastries, making it difficult to decide what to order. The atmosphere is busy and energetic, with a constant flow of customers, but the staff keeps the line moving surprisingly efficiently.
The cannoli are the signature item and the main reason to visit. The shells are crisp and filled to order with a rich, sweet ricotta filling that has a smooth texture without feeling overly heavy. There are plenty of flavors to choose from, including classics like chocolate chip and pistachio, along with seasonal and specialty options. The pistachio cannoli stands out for its generous coating of crushed pistachios, while the chocolate chip version offers a more traditional take. Beyond the cannoli, the lobster tail pastry is another highlight with its flaky layers and creamy filling, and the bakery offers enough variety that it's worth trying more than one dessert.
One thing I liked is that the portions are very generous. Most of the pastries are large enough to share, especially if you're planning to sample a few different items. Everything is displayed behind the counter, making it easy to browse before ordering, although having so many choices can make it take longer to decide.
The biggest thing to plan for is the crowd. There is often a line extending outside, especially on weekends and during the summer, but it usually moves faster than it looks because the staff is well organized. Seating is extremely limited, so most people take their pastries to go. It is also worth remembering that the original North End location is cash only, so bringing cash can save you from any surprises.
Overall, Mike's Pastry is a classic Boston destination that lives up to its reputation if you enjoy rich Italian pastries. The cannoli are the obvious reason to visit, but the wide selection, generous portions, and historic atmosphere make it worth experiencing at least once. Even with the crowds, it remains one of the city's most memorable dessert stops.”

“Fine pastries made by chef Sharif and his team… great espresso with a French vibe all the way down to the bistro chairs and marble top tables situated in a picturesque cobblestone alley overhung by ivy and beautiful trees. Portsmouth’s greatest hidden gem that everyone seems to know about.”
“Had the Jajangmyeon at Somaek and thought the overall flavor was really good. However, the menu states it includes pork and Wagyu beef, but my entire dish only had two extremely small pieces of meat in it, which was pretty disappointing. On the positive side, the staff was incredibly nice and the overall vibe of the place was great. Worth it for the atmosphere and flavor, but they definitely need to be more generous with the proteins.”
“Perfect experience. I had a gluten allergy restriction that the staff catered to and I had no reactions. Cocktails were like others said, curated perfectly with the meals, we left full and satisfied. The desert cocktail was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Both of us want to come back and do it again when we are back in town.”
“I stopped in after dinner with my date to finally try this place out and we were blown away.
First off: the flavors are amazing. They are both well thought of combinations and absolutely high quality products. This is artisan level ice cream. It is very dense and rich. It kind of reminds me of Italian gelato in a way. I loved the cones as well. You can order a 1, 2, or 3 scoop in a cone or cup. Or cone kind of looking thing in a cup.
The staff here was super nice and friendly. Thank you for your professionalism! I love the atmosphere of the store and it was very modern, clean, and intriguing. I wanted a cone as soon as I walked in.
Price wise, be prepared for expensive ice cream. In my opinion it was worth the purchase for how exceptionally better it was than the vast majority of places I’ve tried around town.
Do yourself the favor and check it out. You will not regret it!”
“I love Desnuda. I come here often after hair appointments with the BF and always sit at the bar. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant while having a great upbeat energy. Camilo always makes the best cocktails, he is the best!! I got a lovely cocktail with a spicy pisco, yuzu liqueur and a beet syrup that was the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and smoky. The ceviche and acevichado roll are delicious if you are a raw seafood lover. The fried Yuca and carne tacos are also a must! 10/10 experience every time.”
“They revised the menu and changed the way they baked the cookies. Pretty solid cookies. More than the cookies though, I appreciate the way the place is being managed. The store manager, Isaiah, was great. He listened to some the issues I experienced in the past at another store, and told me all about how they changed to make things better. Give them a try. I tried the s’more’s and the Oreo. I recommend the s’more’s.”

“We were visiting from the Midwest and stumbled across this wonderful restaurant. Amazing food blending delicious flavors! The chef/owner checked in with us multiple times. Hadn’t read her story until after we ate. So impressed and was happy to support her restaurant!”
