“We live in Natick and love Buttercup. That's why we were disappointed with our most recent experience. We stopped by on our way home to have a drink at the bar. There was one or two open seats so we figured one of us would sit and eventually another seat would open up. Only we were stopped by the hostess who told us other people (standing near the host station) had been waiting for bar seats. We were confused because we didn't realize that you couldn't just stand near the bar and have a drink (since we had done this in the past) and also we didn't know that you could even reserve seats at the bar. A couple weeks later we were walking by again and saw that there were many open seats at the bar but my boyfriend and I looked at each other and said, let's skip it. We are still just not feeling great about our last experience.“

“This place is so special. The concept is a BYOB make-your-own cocktail bar. You bring your own liquor but they provide everything else to make a list of cocktails. You can choose 3 out of the different categories and you can stay as long as you long bc there's no turnover. The staff is incredibly welcoming and it truly makes you feel at home. You can even bring your own food to have with your cocktails!! It is a STUNNING venue and it's super intimate but also vibes and perfect for friends or dates. The only thing is, it's kinda hard to find in the plaza but if you enter and go all the way down, you should see the bright signs welcoming you in! The actual cocktails were all intentional, well thought out, and delicious. The owner creates a journey for you with an opener, a deeper cocktail, and then an ending. If you don't fully love your drink, you can ask for a sweetener or ask the owner to fix something up for you. You can add any spirit you want to the cocktails to make it your own. Even after this he never came back to ask if my wife wants another drink.Then, he never came back to ask if the food was okay or if we needed anything else. And yet I saw him consistently joking with his co-workers.This level of service is a far cry from the previous location. The previous location on their staff has some of the most amazing and rememberable service at a restaurant.In this case, my waiter looked like you should be working at 99 restaurant instead.The food however, was excellent, as usual. The steak tartar could have used a little more salt and pepper, but no problem. Appetizers, drinks and dinner were fantastic (is ultimately the most important part).I was very disappointed in the service and they didn't do anything to mention they understood it was my birthday.
