“Me and my sister attended a lovely evening here for my birthday! Great food, great service, great drinks. Everything was great. Staff was even kind enough to check on my sister, who had a reaction to one of the foods we weren't aware she was allergic to. We had to leave earlier and didn't get to finish the experience but would love to return again next time I am in town. Highly suggest.“

“Should you eat here? Simple answer: YES! My friend RAVES about this restaurant constantly, and I never understood her obsession until she brought me here a couple weeks ago. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu... really. Hands down some of the best sushi + sides I've ever had. There's not really a way to put into words how amazing the food, service, and full experience was! Definitely look to make a reservation a few weeks in advance, especially if you plan to come by on Friday/the weekend!“

“Mita Cafe is super cute! This small cafe offers both Ethiopian and Japanese eats, in addition to breakfast, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, smoothies, and juices. While in the area, we decided to try them out, and ordered: +a Strawberry with Mango smoothie - prepared with mangoes, strawberries, and bananas, made with either your choice of apple or guava juice; we opted for the latter +an order of Spicy Lentil Samboosas - they also have spicy chicken as a filling, too; these are larger than the usual sized sambusas; super crispy, but I thought the filling was way too spicy! +a Tokyo Sushi set - this came with 4 pieces of salmon nigiri, a tuna nigiri, a red snapper nigiri, a roll of salmon maki, and a roll of tuna avocado maki; I really enjoyed the salmon nigiri, and most likely will opt for requesting these only; wasn't really a fan of the maki rolls, as one that contained 'baked salmon' tasked like it was from a tin I'd love to try their paninis next time and get more of their salmon nigiri. I'd also like to try their drinks. Service was very friendly and kind! There are only about 4 tables inside, so most seem to get their orders to go, or there's a queue to get one of the tables. The place is definitely tight and cozy! Street parking is available in the area. +salmon nigiri +tasty smoothies +friendly service! +street parking available in the area“

“Akeno is my new favorite sushi spot! Not only is the food amazing, but the people that own and run it are the kindest, most appreciative people I have ever met! We get great service, the ambiance is perfect and we have fun with the staff. If the truffle salmon is on the specials menu, do yourself a favor and ORDER IT! You can thank me later.“

“CAN I SAY THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST SUSHI I'VE HAD IN ALL OF DC!! The flavors in their Seaweed Cucumber Crab salad, and Rainbow and Unagi specialty rolls were music to my tastebuds, so much that we ordered a third one!! My dirty martini and my sister's plum wine added great spirit to our evening and our server was attentive and flowed with our jokes. They also followed great COVID protocol. You must pay them a visit TODAY!!“

“Je me suis abrité dans ce restaurant en raison de la pluie. J'étais le seul client à mon arrivée mais j'ai été très surpris par la sympathie des propriétaires et par le goût de la nourriture. Je me suis régalé avec le bibimbap. Cependant je trouve que le prix est un peu élevé mais ça doit expliqué par la proximité avec tous les monuments alentours.“

“Our visit to Zeppelin was absolutely breathtaking! From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with the most exceptional hospitality by Ari and the rest of the staff. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly one-of-a-kind, paying tribute to the Golden Age of the Great Passenger Airships. But the real standout of our experience was the food. It was absolutely divine. We began our meal with the Edamame and Miso Soup, both of which were the perfect starters and set the stage for the rest of the meal. The Seaweed Salad and Cucumber Sunomono were also refreshing and bursting with flavor. For our main course, we decided to indulge in a variety of dishes from the KushiYaki (Japanese Charcoal Grill) menu. The Ebi Shumai and Beef Harumaki were both cooked to perfection, while the Takoyaki was a fun and tasty snack. But the standout dish was the Okonomiyaki, with its tempura, red ginger, okonomiyaki sauce, and mayo creating a truly unique and flavor-packed experience. From the sushi bar, we sampled a variety of rolls including the Negitoro Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Each one was expertly crafted and perfectly balanced in flavor. We also tried the Sashimi Sampler, which was a fantastic way to try a range of different fish. For dessert, we couldn't resist trying the Green Tea Ice Cream, which was the perfect way to end the meal on a sweet note. Our experience at Zeppelin was truly extraordinary! The food was delicious and the hospitality we received from Ari and the rest of the staff was top-notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a truly unique and memorable dining experience.“

“I never have this a fried calamari in some where else. Only Sumo thai served 2 different sauces for it.It makes this dish pop up and so yummy until a last bite. All sushi is very good quality and rice wrapping is very thin. Mango sticky rice is nice presentation in a heart shaped. We will be back again. ??“

Dining in with beer & sake:Takoyaki: exceptional, definitely order them if visiting.Shrimp Shumai: good.Gyoza: tried steamed and probably be better to order fried.Rolls: Philadelphia & Salmon with Avocado - both good.Suggestions: Takoyaki & Shumai, any rolls. Could skip Gyoza.General information: this place is pretty busy, so you may want to make a reservation for a party. Seating consists of dining room & outside patio. Place itself across from Whole Foods. Parking garage is 5 minutes walk.Pricewise: about $85 with 3 appetizers to share, 2 rolls, sake & beer.“

“It's a small sushi restaurant on a busy street but there's a public parking garage a couple of feet away. The workers/owners? were nice and quick with service. Even offered recommendations. Not sure if they get a lot of dine-in customers because my friend and I were the only ones there around 6pm. At the end of our meal the server gave us a small plate of fruit, yum! I would definitely go back for a second round.“

“This was the best sushi I have ever had. My father in law has been to Japan several times and he went on and on about how incredible the quality was. We were not expecting such incredible sushi, so fresh and delicious!! Truly an unforgettable experience.“

“Served our multi-generational family of 6 delicious food at super speed on a Friday night with the most attentive & kind staff. Our party sampled the menu, having both sushi & Thai food. The vegetarian maki rolls were out of this world. The pad Thai delighted our pickiest family member. Everything was totally delicious. Highly recommend, perfect place to bring the kids & grandparents.“
“We went to AKO by Kenaki for my birthday and we really enjoyed it! The sushi was innovative but very tasty. As you might know, this is located in the Roost which is more of a food hall vibe. We sat at a counter and ordered on the app and it was delivered to us. Only complaint was that it was a little pricey and only open on certain days for lunch but overall pleased with the food and experience“

“First time eating here, it was a win. I ordered the spicy beef bento box and shrimp bento box takeout, and it was fresh, hot, great portions, with a side of yamm yamm sauce and rice and steamed cabbage.Gotta be the best deal in town. Place was clean and the employees nice. Will definitely be ordering from here again.“

“BYOB.Astonishingly good fish. Some of the best imaginable. The chef opened with cuts of fatty tuna that would be the star at a different restaurant. And the price extremely reasonable for what you get. 6 stars. That said, a little wall art would go a long way for ambience. For now, just focus on the fish.“

“Great Detroit-style pizza. (The kind that your mom says she will only have one piece, but then ends up eating the leftovers). The breakfast burritos are also very tasty. This place was made for carryout, but everything it cooks is quality. Helpful staff deal with a lot of takeout orders.“

“Service was wonderful. I enjoyed that they had a cute bar to sit at. For food I had: -HH fried tuna roll (with cream cheese) - these were great, but I wish the tuna was raw, as it was definitely cooked. -Spring rolls - these were ok, lacked a little flavor -Crab rangoon - this was a surprise, as I'm used to mostly cream cheese, but it was all crab :) -Tuna sashimi - this was ok, not the most robust flavor or color I've had, but it tasted fresh -Special roll (shrimp tempura, asparagus, eel) - the tempura gave it a nice crunch, but it definitely needed soy sauce I'd go back if I was in the area to try other dishes.“

“Food was okay. The service was friendly and nice. The value of the sushi was decent but I wouldn't likely return. It's a decent sushi spot for the location, but I wouldn't come from any long distance to attend. I think the atmosphere is classic takeout Japanese restaurant .“

“we came to DC to celebrate our anniversary. The original place that we were going to ended up closing down so we found this one and we couldn't be happier with this one sushi restaurant is hands-down, our favorite one even in the ones that we eat in Miami it's only the sushi chef and so please keep in mind that you will have to wait a little bit of time compared to other restaurants but the service is amazing. It's a very intimate restaurant because there was only two employees thereand the freshest fish I've ever had. extensive list of sake. we definitely recommend this place and we'll be here whenever we come back to DC.“

“New to the area, and was eager to find a local Thai spot. Had the pad se ew and crab fried rice delivered, and boy was it delicious. Not too fishy on the crab, which I certainly appreciated. Will easily be ordering from this place again. Thank you!“

“This restaurant currently only has takeaway or order. Waiting outside for your takeaway is a bit odd experience but don’t let it put you off. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. I had teriyaki. I hope for this place that they can open completely again.“

“I only stopped by for a quick dessert and got the mango sticky rice! It was really good and fresh. The server cut the mango in front of me at the bar and the coconut milk and sesame seeds on top of the rice were great! They also refilled my water and checked in to see if everything was okay. The workers are very nice and it came out quick. It is a bit dark inside and located at a crowded dc area. I'm not sure about parking but it was a close walk from Rhode Island Avenue on the red line!“

“Fresh sushi & fantastic lunch specials! Everyone from presidents, to congressmen, to celebrities have dined here & loved the food & service as evident by the numerous signed pictures on the wall. “I've come to La Fantome multiple times for group lunches, thought I'd try out this kitchen since a lot people from my group order here. I do like the ability to order from your phone, it allows you time to look over the menu & not feel rushed. Customer service was good, only interacted with a server when they delivered my food. Had the California Roll which was good for the price. Will order from here again.“

“Our group of 6 had 5pm reservations on a Saturday. The restaurant doesn't open until 5pm and we got there about 30 minutes early. This restaurant shares the same building with another restaurant called LaVie so they suggested we sit at laVie's bar until our 5pm reservation. We declined. At 5pm we were seated at our table. The restaurant itself had nice views of the DC wharf. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. IThe edamame appetizer was so good, as well as the meat pizza and calamari. I had scallops for a main dish and for me it was just ok. My preference are scallops that are more seared but I think it's just a matter of preference. The best thing on the menu to me were the desserts and drinks. My Mocktail was delish. It was almost 800 dollars for 7 people. So over 100 dollars per person. Typical for the area and the service fee will definitely be included. Two cons: it was my son's birthday and in my humble opinion you're not too fancy to acknowledge with a free mini dessert or ice cream. LaVie did when we celebrated my daughter's birthday a couple of years back. We did get an acknowledgment from the manager though. Also my daughter ordered the wrong drink and they took it back and gave her the drink she wanted but they still charged for the original drink. I could understand if it was alcohol but it was a mocktail. Jeez. Will I go back? For the desserts, appetizers and the correct Mocktail yes.“
“Really good, fresh sushi. Every time I go. Actually this is my go to place, for sushi, when I don't want to drive too far. I frequent the Tropical Thunder, Dynamite, Maryland and Volcano Rolls. I also like the bento boxes, when I want a variety of food. My husband loves the teriyaki plates. The Yum Yum sauce is super spicy! Sweet, but spicy.“

“We came here for dinner on a very cold night bc it was fairly close to the Sofitel. Actually I was navigating to another restaurant but passed this one and decided what the heck , it looks busy, menu/prices are decent and google said it was decent. It was fine - we both got beef bento boxes - the meat was a bit tough but it was a LOT of food. Quality was decent. Our included California roll was fresh and tasty and service was prompt and friendly. And mostly importantly, it was nice and toasty inside lol“

“If you are in the area, go in say hi to Mai. We went in there for the first time today and immediately was merengue dancing. The cooks started dancing too lol! I ask what was the best thing on the menu and Mai hooked us up! Definitely recommend. Also thank you Mai for the extra yum yum sauce.“

“I ordered sushi to be delivered and it was amazing. I lived in California for years and didn't think I would find sushi I love as much as I love there. I got the spicy salmon avocado roll, spicy tuna roll, and salmon. Everything was so fresh and delicious! This is now my go to spot and I will be ordering every "Sushi Sunday."“
