“It's been so exciting to see an entirely plant-based concept be so successful and expanding so rapidly and now that I have visited I absolutely see why. This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. My friend and I had been dying to try their plant-based sushi and not only did it blow us away but the other dishes we tried were equally as incredible. Here's what we got for two people. We were quite full and took some leftovers: - ahi watermelon nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: If you didnt know this was made of watermelon you could absolutely mistake it for the real thing. The texture is mind blowing and the flavor is on point. Amazing way to start the meal (and end it because we ended up ordering another round to finish our meal) - unagi eggplant nigiri (2 pieces) x 2: So delicious. Definitely must order. The eggplant is super tender, just like eel. - spicy tuna roll: we ordered the hand roll but I think the server misheard so we ended up with the maki but it wasn't a big deal and i wasn't upset to get to try their take on maki rolls. I think their rice could use some work but this was still tasty! - Dan Dan noodles: incredible. Our server advised us to get the Dan Dan noodles over the Singapore noodles entirely because of the saucy-ness of this dish and he did not steer us wrong. These noodles are drowning in sauce (in the best way) Even though it's a peanut sauce it was perfectly balanced and creamy. The noodles themselves had a great chew and the use of kamut (a grain) in the dish as a substitute for the traditional ground pork was inspired. - bang bang broccoli: broccoli has never tasted this good. I mean it, not only is the broccoli is shockingly crispy while being perfectly cooked through the center, but the broccoli itself tasted so creamy and delicious unlike any broccoli I have had before. And the bang bang sauce is bangin too. All this being said, if you are trying to be choosy and try the most unique dishes, I would probably skip this dish in favor of more sushi. Overall, this was an incredible, unique, and innovative meal and I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. This is how vegetables could and should taste, if only we put as much love into them as we do with meat. At least the chefs at Planta are listening.“

“Isshin has one of the BEST service in Adams Morgan. May is the woman who always helps me. I think she’s the manager. She keeps that place running swiftly and smoothly. During the pandemic, Isshin made every effort to keep their place sanitized and customers safe by using PPE and placing hand sanitizers all around. The staff works super fast to get meals ready for you. They always go above and beyond to offer excellent service. I had to order spicy shrimp rice and I was going to arrive close to closing time, May kept Isshin open until I arrived (5 mins late) to pick up my food. I only live 3 blocks away but once I was not able to pick up my food from Isshin. May immediately said, “if you live close, I’ll deliver for you.” And she did just that and as usual with a very pleasant demeanor and genuine smile. I ordered the Strawberry Blush Boba with Coconut Milk, Steamed Chicken Dumplings, and Avocado Roll. The boba was amazing. The combination of fresh strawberry puree and creamy coconut milk was pure heaven. Seriously, the BEST boba I've ever had! The Chicken Dumplings were light, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off my meal. The avocado roll did not disappoint! It was fresh, perfectly balanced, and just as satisfying as any avocado roll I've had elsewhere. “Overall, I think Moby Dick Sushi is a great spot in the downtown Wheaton area to get your sushi fix. Actually, it's now my go-to sushi spot. I've visited this place on a few occasions, and I have not had any issues with my food and service. Moby Dick has a pretty extension menu that includes traditional and "fancy" food items. For the things that I have ordered (typically the general sushi dinners and basic rolls), I thought the prices are in line with other decent sushi spots in the area. The restaurant is a bit small with about 5-7 tables, so it probably will not work out well if you plan on dining there with 5+ people in your party. Also, the restaurant seems to be geared toward pickup and delivery orders. For instance, I do not think the restaurant has a restroom for customers. If you decide the dine-in, be aware that you will have people constantly walking past you to make or pick up their orders at the front counter.“

Even walking in has a small fountain that is the first thing you'll see. The bar itself has the entire menu of what you could order Boba wise but you could also order alcohol too. There's many options to pick honestly. I got the Strawberry Blush drink. It's black tea that's lightly sweetened with strawberry puree with strawberry heart jelly. It's really cute! I think I should have opted to order Boba instead because the jelly takes an effort to drink through the straw. I don't really have much to say but it's boba, lots of different teas to pick from ranging from Milk/Fruit/Thai Tea/Coffee, ect with many toppings.. Can't go wrong with a nice drink after food.“
