“If you are in the area, go in say hi to Mai. We went in there for the first time today and immediately was merengue dancing. The cooks started dancing too lol! I ask what was the best thing on the menu and Mai hooked us up! Definitely recommend. Also thank you Mai for the extra yum yum sauce.“

“Should you eat here? Simple answer: YES! My friend RAVES about this restaurant constantly, and I never understood her obsession until she brought me here a couple weeks ago. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu... really. Hands down some of the best sushi + sides I've ever had. Definitely look to make a reservation a few weeks in advance, especially if you plan to come by on Friday/the weekend!“

“Mita Cafe is super cute! This small cafe offers both Ethiopian and Japanese eats, in addition to breakfast, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, smoothies, and juices. While in the area, we decided to try them out, and ordered: +a Strawberry with Mango smoothie - prepared with mangoes, strawberries, and bananas, made with either your choice of apple or guava juice; we opted for the latter +an order of Spicy Lentil Samboosas - they also have spicy chicken as a filling, too; these are larger than the usual sized sambusas; super crispy, but I thought the filling was way too spicy! +a Tokyo Sushi set - this came with 4 pieces of salmon nigiri, a tuna nigiri, a red snapper nigiri, a roll of salmon maki, and a roll of tuna avocado maki; I really enjoyed the salmon nigiri, and most likely will opt for requesting these only; wasn't really a fan of the maki rolls, as one that contained 'baked salmon' tasked like it was from a tin I'd love to try their paninis next time and get more of their salmon nigiri. I'd also like to try their drinks. Service was very friendly and kind! There are only about 4 tables inside, so most seem to get their orders to go, or there's a queue to get one of the tables. “Akeno is my new favorite sushi spot! Not only is the food amazing, but the people that own and run it are the kindest, most appreciative people I have ever met! We get great service, the ambiance is perfect and we have fun with the staff. If the truffle salmon is on the specials menu, do yourself a favor and ORDER IT! You can thank me later.“

“Fantastic sushi tucked away in an unassuming strip mall. I’ve been a couple times because there are so many appealing sushi rolls and they have all been fantastic. The fish is fresh, the proportions are good. I’d avoid the cocktails, they are underwhelming. They can be slow when busy but that should be expected when sushi is being made to order.“

“I never have this a fried calamari in some where else. Only Sumo thai served 2 different sauces for it.It makes this dish pop up and so yummy until a last bite. “We went to AKO by Kenaki for my birthday and we really enjoyed it! The sushi was innovative but very tasty. As you might know, this is located in the Roost which is more of a food hall vibe. We sat at a counter and ordered on the app and it was delivered to us. “I only stopped by for a quick dessert and got the mango sticky rice! It was really good and fresh. The server cut the mango in front of me at the bar and the coconut milk and sesame seeds on top of the rice were great! They also refilled my water and checked in to see if everything was okay. The workers are very nice and it came out quick. It is a bit dark inside and located at a crowded dc area. I'm not sure about parking but it was a close walk from Rhode Island Avenue on the red line!“

“I've come to La Fantome multiple times for group lunches, thought I'd try out this kitchen since a lot people from my group order here. I do like the ability to order from your phone, it allows you time to look over the menu & not feel rushed. Customer service was good, only interacted with a server when they delivered my food. Had the California Roll which was good for the price. Will order from here again.“

“Really good, fresh sushi. Every time I go. Actually this is my go to place, for sushi, when I don't want to drive too far. I frequent the Tropical Thunder, Dynamite, Maryland and Volcano Rolls. I also like the bento boxes, when I want a variety of food. My husband loves the teriyaki plates. The Yum Yum sauce is super spicy! Sweet, but spicy.“

“Devon was the nicest and best waitress we ever had. My family and I often go to Kabu because we like the food. This time not only was the food good are waitress Devon was so wonderful. She was kind, nice and showed great patience. We came on a Monday so there weren’t a lot of chefs for Hibachi. There was a wait but she checked in to keep us updated. We didn’t mind waiting because of her. The chef we had that night was also wonderful. I almost didn’t come back to Kabu because the last waitress I had wasn’t nice.
