“I was in DC for a couple of days and after a day of sightseeing, was ready to chill and grab some beers. I'm a huge craft beer fan and saw that Other Half's DC location was pretty close to where I was staying. I've had quite a few of their beers and also been to their brewery in Brooklyn, which was boss. This location was equally good. I ended up getting four beers, two NEIPA's, which were both really good and fresh and also two barrel aged beers, one was great, the other not so much. Service was on point and the guy behind the bar was very friendly and accommodating. It is a large space with outdoor seating and there was a quiz going on while I was there. You can also buy beer to take away too.“
“The restaurant has a very small space and you could definitely feel the close proximity that makes it feel cramped.Despite this, we were seated very effectively and the food was delivered in such a timely manner.The dish options were normal but not overwhelming and the appetizers and entrees were incredibly flavorful. I would say depending on your dish, it may be smaller or larger than you expect.I would advise not taking a car as it probably applies to all of DC, public transit and walking access was amazing and the area did not feel unsafe at the 8pm hour that we ate.Overall, we enjoyed our service, a comfortable authentic Mexican place for visitors!Parking: We saw some parking spots but very difficult to navigate around this area with car.“

They have beers on tap, all kinds of alcohol and snacks - make sure you are not hungry when you come in. The setting is great, downstairs, large bar, lots of seating. “Very bright, warm, friendly location. Drink offerings are varied and refreshing. The staff are always responsive and even offers firepit in the winter. Definitely has grown exponentially since their initial opening. Great local brewery. Parking has been a battle as far as access, but the location is very cute and welcoming.“

Rocklands met my requirements and whenever that craving hits, we make the drive just to grab some beef ribs, delicious dill potato salad, cheesy Mac n' cheese and of course their jalapeño corn bread! “*Visited April 7thMy usual ramen spot closes at 3:30 pm and reopens at 4:30pm- which caused me to find another ramen establishment. Came across Hanabi Ramen and ordered the Gyudon beef .It was like listening to a beautiful- yet technical violin concerto comprised of 3 movements:The Broth will represent the 1st mvt (Adagio)The seasonings and the tempura crumbs complementing the broth will represent the 2nd mvt (Allegro non troppo)The beef and the Udon noodles will represent the 3rd mvt (Presto)Resulting in a perfect dish, the beef reminded me of a hint of bulgogi (something I make at home) pairing very well with the broth adding such a contrast between a light sweetness and savory note. Perfectly balanced and composed I can detect there was a lot of thought put in the dish and I just loaned for more. Every taste was a new discovery and I was highly impressed. Very homey with a lot of notes and I will be back at the establishment again soon!“

“I've been to Midlands twice. First off, props for being a Michigan alum bar - Go Blue! Love the patio and chill vibe - great spot to relax while hanging out and sampling beers, etc. Solid beer selection, per my husband. Today I ordered the Strainge Beast hard kombucha which was awesome. Ginger, lemon, hibiscus. Loved it! We also needed a light midday snack so my husband got the $3 happy hour brat and I ordered hummus/pita. The hummus tasted great and was the perfect consistency. I'd love some veggies in addition to the pita bread, though. The service has been welcoming both times I've come. All in all, Midlands is a terrific neighborhood hangout spot and I'm sure to be back when visiting the area.“

The space had cool vibes but it was a bit hard to find a place to sit, especially since the outside area (we went on a cold and drizzly day so we wanted to stay inside) takes up about half the space.“

“This place has filled a void left by Carpool (I know it's back, at least in Virginia Square). One big difference between the two is the food. The pizza is great and I really like the steak and cheese. It has a nice amount of games, but not so many that it feels gimmicki. I feel like beers are pricey, but that is pretty much everywhere these days.“

“This is a priceless spot. The staff is so warm and welcoming. Sit at the bar if you can. The drinks are fantastic, the food is right out of a Mexico City kitchen on a Saturday night. The posole almost made me cry, it was absolutely perfect. If you're aware of what flavors taste like after being slowly developed, you'll love this place. The decor also reminds me of someone's kitchen. Beautiful, colorful, but unpretentious and comfortable.“
“I’ve been wanting to go to Cork for years, and never made it in, so I finally made a reservation for a Friday night and I’m so glad that I did. At first I didn’t even know there was an upstairs section, but we were seated upstairs and it was a very nice atmosphere. Cozy and comfortable and and excellent place to enjoy a glass of wine or have a meal. Our server was very welcoming and clearly knew his stuff. We know a little about wine but not enough to be successful, so we really appreciated the recommendations. I think we could have used a bit more attention during the night but our server was also tending to the bar patrons, so this was neither here nor there. While we did not have dinner the menu, though focused, looked excellent. My one negative comment would be related to the vintners plate (read charcuterie board) which while $24, had nearly nothing on it. However this seems to be the norm in DC these days unfortunately. Overall I would say a very nice experience and definitely would be a repeat visitor.“
“Just happened to drive by Paradiso and decided to stop for a lite meal. Ordered the New Year's 4-Pork Special 12" pizza with pepperoni, salami, sausage, basil, asiago, and mozzarella cheese, minus the prosciutto (cutting down the salt intake) You can taste the spices in the red sauce. The pizza is not overwhelmed with cheese, but the cheese combination is delicious. The crust was lite and crisp. It was piping hot and stayed relatively hot to warm as we enjoyed this deliciously wood-fired pizza, with nothing left but crumbs. We paired it with the Homebrew award winning Paradiso Dunkelweizen beer, a nice Mellow taste. Great for a non-beer connoisseur. Okay, great corner location with free parking lot next door and street parking. Nice decor with plenty of seating inside with full panel glass doors that open to the patio during the hot summer days. Covered patio seating outside in front and side of building. Bar seating inside and outside as well as a heated tent. This location is handicap accessible. Mon-Tues closed. Wed-Thurs 4-9pm and Fri-Sat 1-9pm. Paid $43 for two drinks and pizza. The staff are welcoming. David our server was very attentive.Will return to sample other items on the menu.Parking: The restaurant is located on a corner next to the neighborhood. You can find parking on the street if none is available in the nearby parking lot.“

“I had the kimchi burrito and it was absolutely genius and delicious. Kimchi fried rice in a burrito essentially and it was amazing. The business is Korean owned which always makes me happy. Both of the owners were incredibly sweet and kind. Basically, go give them your business. You'll be happy you went.“
“Went here for lunch because I work nearby and it was a great choice! Even though it's a little pricey (because of location), I got the mac and cheese grilled sandwich (almost like a grilled cheese sandwich) and I was full! It was only $10 (not including tax and tip) and it's a great lunch choice. The restaurant was empty inside but it looks like a great place to go after work hours. There were a couple of people at the bar relaxing but it was dead, otherwise. The bartender was too nice and funny. We were doing an inside joke and she was playing along. Overall, great experience. I would love to go there after work hours and eat while watching a sports game.“

“Takoda is a great place to pregame or stop by mid day in dc. Lyndsey and Daniel took care of me at the bar and they were amazing. Their bar manager Pete, the head bar tender, came by later on to make sure I was okay with the service which I really appreciated. The atmosphere is great. Yasim the manager also came by to check on me. Nice music and good seating. The beer choices and fired pickles were amazing. If you get the chance, come to Takoda and see Lyndsey for sure.“
“I come to DC frequently, and this place is a MUST! The food and vibe are ok. What keeps me coming back is the bartender, Ben. You'll immediately recognize him. He's the one with long hair, Auburn hat (his only downfall...Roll Tide), and the absolute best southern accent in DC. His conversations, attention to detail, knowing what I want and getting me to try new things that I find I love, and overall down to earth/welcoming persona is what keeps me coming back.
