“Small, quaint place. Went on a Thursday night around 5pm. Very fast service. House margaritas were flavorful. Wish they were a little heavier on the tequila (but I understand). Smothered burritos aren't huge, but they make up for it in flavor; still had a small portion to take home. Server was very attentive and prompt. Not sure why this location keeps going through name changes but the food to me is good.“
“Coming from SoCal, I was plesantly surprised to find quality authetic Mexican food in Maine. Service was fast and curteous. Attention to detail was impressive. Granted, it was a slow lunch hour, but as a customer it's nice to feel appreciated. I look forward to returning for a dinner experience.“
“This is a tidy, no nonsense/no pretense eatery that provides excellent Salvadoran, Mexican, and Puerto Rican dishes. This is not some Gringo interpretation of these cuisines, nor is it an attempt to adapt them to local tastes. This is the real deal, authentic food prepared well by people who grew up with it.I’ve eaten there twice, and am heading back there tonight to try something else.My first time there I had the Montañero, a massive plate of meat, rice, beans, patacones (green plantain sliced sideways, fried, flattened, and fried again), salad and probably more that I am forgetting. It was a daunting task, but I did finish it.The second time I had mofongo, Puerto Rico’s entry into the pantheon of “heart attack on a plate” cuisine. It’s basically smashed green plantains mixed with bits of chicharrone (fried pork belly) and meat of your choice and much more. I had been craving it for years and was too intimidated to try fixing myself. I thoroughly enjoy it, and will order it again, as soon as I’ve run through the many other things on the menu that I just have to try first. The atmosphere is fairly plain and stark, but very clean and tidy. Anyone who has eaten it NYC inexpensive Hispanic restaurants will be right at home.I really hope that you will give this place a try, and I don’t think you will regret it.“
“Their mexican street corn and queso are all you need in this life to be happy :) Staff was super nice and food was delish!Kid-friendliness: We brought our 1 year old and they got us right in with a high chair and brought his food out as soon as it was ready :)“
“9/30/23 - Visiting from VA, we walked around and found this place. The dollar bills reminded me of Key west vibes. The bartender was super nice and great service. My fiancé got a margarita drink that was delicious. I tried the lobster roll and it was pretty good. Good amount of lobster and loved the bread that came with it. If I come back to visit I would definitely loved to stop by this place again and try some other food plus drinks.“
“Stopped by here for a brief lunch on a brisk but sunny spring afternoon. They had great seating on the sidewalk and the server was a delight. Best guacamole I've had in the area. It seems like this is a great place also for drinks and dinner based on the atmosphere inside.“
“Delicious! Really delicious food outside of San Diego. Freshly made and they do not skimp out of filling/ or meats either. I got a carna asada to share while hubby got a carna asada burrito. All entree comes with salsa and chips . Food made from natural ingredients and none are salty as most take out place tends to be. Yes a little pricey but if you want fresh ingredients , quality ingredients ( tender and meaty carna asada) and mall rent , the price is just.“
“Pretty amazing! I haven't had Hatch Pork Chile stew that good outside of Santa Fe! Burrito was right off the street side cafe in Oaxaca! Salsa was perfectly authentic! They have Queso Fundido!!!! Going back for mole and their Mexican parrillada!“
“First time dining tonight, and it was phenomenal. Plenty of chips on the table, server was excellent and fast, food came out in minutes from ordering! The atmosphere was clean and the staff was so kind. The chimichangas we ordered were perfectly crispy and they accommodated change of sides! They even make guacamole in front of you. I am so impressed and will be back.“
“Salsa - amazing! Great texture and flavor. Not 1/2 water. LolMain meal - ordered server recommendation from Honduran menu. AMAZING! Massive portion (probably would feed 4-6). Beautiful presentation. All the meat had incredible flavors, unique to the meat. Hard to pick my favorite. Plantains were the best Ive had.Highly recommend“
“We stopped in here to grab tacos and margaritas before the beer festival and the tacos were amazing! Absolutely delicious and filling. We both had beef tacos ? but our friends tried the shrimp and chicken and all of them were raving about how good they were. We also got margaritas ? they were great too. Good spot to order at the counter and sit outside for a bite.“
“My first time here and I ordered takeout (knowing mexican food is better eaten at the restaurant) Food was tasty and the portions were generous. Prices were reasonable and service was great. The restaurant doesn't feel as mexican as other places because it is in an old diner, but I kinda liked it. I will definitely return, I will eat there, and enjoy some cervezas...“
“This is one of my favorite places. Definately favorite Hispanic oriented food in Maine. I love how the food isn't drenched in salt!! I order cheese quesadillas and chips with queso plus extra pico. The pico is always fresh. I wish they carried Shrimp quesadillas. Love me some shrimp.“
