Try one of EVERYTHING and you still won't find anything you don't like. My husband wanted lobster AND a haddock sandwich...what did Grayson do? Made it happen and thus the "claw fish sandwich" was born! I had the Jr surf and turf burger. My only regret is that I got the Jr portion and not the regular size. Get the fries with anything! They are perfectly seasoned and fried. This was our first time here BUT it won't be our last. Can't wait to try some new things on the menu. What's really a sweet deal about this spot is that they have a Jr. size of some of the options! When you want it ALL, but can't eat it ALL, you can still try it ALL! Psst. “Amazing food and service. We went here for Valentine's Day and experienced one of the top 10 meals of our lives (and I've been to a zillion places to eat, so this really really means a lot). Everything was top-notch with the flavoring, the portions, the tastes, the textures, the service, etc. I got the sake pairing and not only were the pours very liberal, the sakes they chose exquisitely paired with each course (the mushroom sake was especially taste-bud popping). Pictures of our courses are below. The dessert course was a huge lemon ice with lemon meringue pie in the middle - very fun presentation. We left feeling very sated and pleased. We will be taking family and friends here as often as we can. Yes, it is expensive, but it was absolutely worth it for the experience.“

“If you like flavorful food, this is it! Ordered the Chicken sandwich and Chive cakes. The texture of the cake was perfectly crisped on the outside and so soft on the inside. The accompanying sauce adds a nice vinegar/sour counterpoint to the cake. The chicken sandwich is normally spicy so we ordered it without the normal sauce and requested peanut sauce which was spot on. We liked the place so much we bought the cute pink Dad hat!“
“This place is a rare find. They are local folks in a sweet part of a Portland neighborhood right across from Morans market. It is very clean and the food is amazing. “We were nearby visiting my brother at his job and wanted some dinner. Found this place in a local search and the reviews were good. Inside the decor is nice. A mixture of booths, tables, and a bar. Very hip vibe (if I'm not too old to say that unironically). We were greeted right away and found a table. Service was attentive and very personable. Made some recommendations and then we dove into the menu. Good selection of American pub style food. Music was good and not too loud. Good came out in good time. The food was better than I expected. My mom had a haddock chowder which she and I both loved (I stole a spoonful). She split a cranberry walnut salad with me. It was tasty but over dressed. Would have been a lot better with less dressing. My Dad got the honey mustard wrap and he really liked it. He also got an espresso martini that he thought was just ok. I had the fish and chips. The fry on the fish was no joke. Thicker and crispier than I am used to but was so tasty and very well seasoned. It was so much I brought half home and ate it straight outta the fridge the next day and it was delicious. The star of the night were the fries. Seemed like a double fry method that again were so crispy and well seasoned. Delicious! My fiancé got a margarita drink that was delicious. I tried the lobster roll and it was pretty good. Good amount of lobster and loved the bread that came with it. “Tomaso's is a dive bar gem. With a tiny space inside and frequent regulars, this place has a lot of character. Perfect for some quick fried food and watching a sports game on the TV. I came here for some late lunch one day craving wings. The "dirt" wings caught my attention which our server described as a buffalo sauce that has been double fried so it comes out as sort of a dry rub. Normally, I don't really go for buffalo flavor. I couldn't taste that much of the original buffalo, which is probably why I liked it so much. Very savory and crisped well. My friend and I shared mozzarella sticks, and I think these are the best mozz sticks I've had in my life. Fried to perfection and a good amount of cheese. My friend got the Mac and cheese, but was a bit disappointed. Not really what was expected -- it seemed there were pieces of red pepper and orange cheddar for cheese. Not the biggest Mac and cheese fan myself, but I don't think it was like a typical one. Our server was busy running around serving the whole place, but she was still attentive to our table.“

“I spent the afternoon at Dock Fore watching first the Patriots game and then the late afternoon Chiefs game. Staff and owner were awesome and the place is really a locals pub - lots of TV’s playing all the NFL games and lots of locals bantering back and forth. An incredible experience for a tourist who happened upon a locals pub.“
“We have been going to this restaurant and the downtown location for 15+ years. Consistently good food, good service and comfortable setting. Our waitress was pleasant and solicitous. Apps, entrees and dessert was a 90- minute experience. Carpaccio was excellent as was my seared tuna and I split an orange crème brûlée. Two parties in our group visiting Maine from our west had seafood pappardelle and the other had the duck. The port trio was terrific with my husband giving the waitress carte blanche with the ports!“
“We had a brief one night stop on our Maine roadtrip. Asked recommendations about local beer place in our dinner spot The Highroller Lobster. Girl pointed to the Maps. We had one beer each, but the bartender knew milliliters (which is odd and great at the same time). The Commodores LP was spinning and fullfilling Tuesday's eve experience. I am from Lithuania, so I did not liked the map with soviet union, even I understand this is a piece of history, but it should be hanging in restroom or somewhere in less respectful place. Great beer and atmosphere overall.“
“Being an old dude I thought I might feel a bit out of place when I went here with friends to attend a retro emo-themed event with burlesque. One of my friends' son was playing in the band featured that evening. The show was truly bizarre but enjoyable. The venue is really interesting- the stage is a decent size and there seems to be enough space for several hundred people. The acoustics were acceptable and the beer selection was decent. I really didn't feel so out of place considering I was about 25 to 30 years older than the average age of the patrons for this event.“
“Flask is my favorite place in Portland. There is such a wide variety of things going on here — music of all different genres, karaoke, drag shows, comedy nights — with all sorts of different people. The social environment is ever-changing but always has the feeling of hanging out at a friend’s house. Also there’s an interesting take-it-or-leave-it box in the back bathroom where people leave notes and little trinkets.“

“Came here with a big group (7) for dinner on a Friday night during the off season in early March. We were seated right away upstairs which was extremely convenient. We ordered a few of the mojito pitchers for all of us which were really good. Each of us ordered appetizers for ourselves. I got the sunchoke dip and the rock potatoes. The sunchoke dip was interesting and thick in texture. The flavor was okay but maybe missing a little spice. The rock potatoes were AWESOME, really well seasoned and the dipping sauce complemented it really well. Super cute vibe and watching the karaoke at night was a fun way to end the night!!“

If you are a big eater and like to take home leftovers, you can choose the Chef's tasting menu, because it is difficult to choose from all the menu options. Each dish was so tasty, with layers of robust flavor & texture. The food is very rich and while we couldn't eat like this every day, we thoroughly enjoyed every option we chose. Simple but creative dishes. We also savored an absolutely decadent chocolate dessert, craft beer & an alcohol free cocktail. The music was a great addition to the overall vibe, and the restaurant set up is unique and bar-style downstairs. I'm glad we close to sit on the ground floor and watch the action. There is also an option to sit at a table upstairs in the mezzanine. We plan to return to try other menu options. A unique dining experience. Very nice, attentive staff.“
