“Had a wonderful dinner date here on a Wednesday night. It was still a very busy night for the resturant, meaning there were some tables that were spaced inches apart in the main area and making it loud enough that conversation was occasionally difficult to hear. The food though, was wonderful. We started with a couple of cocktails, the Mamakuna and La Clandestina, both of them were tasty, being fruity and light, in their respective ways. The first food we got was the masa & guacamole along with the corn elote, which go together in a fun mix-n-match way. For mains, we got chicken tinga tostadas and the seared scallops. The chicken tinga was a lot of savory deliciousness without being to heavy and the seared scallops were full of vibrant flavors, and surprisingly spicy with the salsa macha. And of course, we got the churros for dessert. They were fun and tasty, with the dulce de leche and sweetend cream, I definetly favored the cream, but I'm less of a sugar person.I would love to go again, but I think I will wait until the patio is open to get some more elbow room and bring down the noise level.Parking: The parking lot is very small, fewer than a dozen spots. There is plenty of street parking, but it's a busy area.Wheelchair accessibility: There is no curb on entry. The entranceway is pretty tight, it's got a straight hall to the left inside the front door, straight to the front desk. To get into the seating area is a right turn from facing the desk.In the seating area, there is very little room between tables, to the point where some of the tables are literally inches apart. There is a wide through path to the back of the building, where kitchen and restrooms are located. The restrooms are roomy but have low toilets.“

We ordered an array of food and our employees couldn’t stop talking about how fantastic the prime rib and KFC (Korean fried cauliflower) were! The talk around the shop about this event and the delicious food went on for days! We all had such a great experience from start to finish. They made it so easy to plan, set up, host and tear down. We would highly recommend anyone looking to host a party to come here! Now if you are just looking for a bite to eat for a date night or family night out, they also have you covered. “My recent dinner at Spoon and Stable in Minneapolis was an experience that truly stood out in my culinary adventures. This beautifully restored horse stable turned restaurant offers a warm and inviting ambiance that set the tone for a remarkable evening. The menu, curated by Chef Gavin Kaysen, is a testament to his expertise and commitment to showcasing the best of Midwest ingredients with a French twist. We started with the foie gras terrine, which was rich and perfectly balanced, and it became an instant favorite at our table. For my main course, I chose the duck breast, which was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a side that complemented the duck without overshadowing it.What really made our meal unforgettable was not just the food but the service. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely enthusiastic about their work. They recommended excellent wine pairings that elevated our dining experience. The dessert rounded off the evening on a high note, with creative and delightful options that were as beautiful to look at as they were to taste. The ambiance, service, and exquisite cuisine made Spoon and Stable a dining destination that I can't recommend highly enough. Whether for a special occasion or a treat-yourself night out, this restaurant promises an evening that’s both enchanting and satisfying.“

Dinner

“This is the finest dining in Minneapolis, hands down. I went in February 2024 and everything was executed with meticulous care. Every single dish was perfectly balanced. There was nothing superfluous, nothing too heavy, nothing too acidic. The wine pairings were well thought out. Also, none of the staff forgot I was a pescatarian at any point. It was also the perfect amount of food. For the quality of the food the prices were extremely reasonable. I have been to most of the fine dining establishments in the Metro and don't think the others, like Travail or Spoon and Stable, which are amazing in their own right, can really compare to Tenant. This is where you bring a true foodie if you want to impress them.“

“Came to Char Bar for the first time for happy hour on Saturday with Kim T. Char Bar is a speakeasy on the inside of Butcher & Boar (through the glass doors). We arrived around 4:45 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't too crazy busy, we were one of a handful of tables. The hour menu was pretty good! A good amount of food and drink items ranging between $6-10. I had the Chicken Sammy ($10), Kim had an Arby's style 3 Way Beef & Cheese sando ($17), and we split the Curly Fries ($6). I also ordered two of the non happy hour burgers to go ($8/each). I really liked my sandwich a lot, chicken was perfectly crispy, the slaw was savory and sweet, Polynesian vibes. I would absolutely get it again! Kim liked her sandwich but she said the sauce was too much and soaked the bottom of the bun, the curly fries were fine. I had a dragon tattoo cocktail, serenity pineapple rum cocktail, and a frozen rum & cherry coke slushy. Drinks were boozy but pricey! Loved the menu showing the drinks very cute and visibly pleasing. Update: Butcher Burger ($8) was sensational! It's no Parlour Bar burger but it's sooo good, tasted gourmet and traveled well. Fun fact: the restaurant group over Parlour Bar also owns Char Bar! I liked the pickled onions and the chipotle mayo cheese sauce, good solid burger for a good price!“

“I come to and enjoy Brasa consistently enough that I should finally write a review. The short: service is consistently friendly and helpful, food is consistently good, great gluten-free option with (thus far) no cross-contamination incidents, and a very casual atmosphere. All of my friend group have different favorites: the egg sandwich, the pork bowl, the chilaquiles (my personal favorite.) Every protein comes in different forms: a plate, a sandwich, or a bowl. Most options (except the sandwiches and a couple of sides) are gluten-free. Quick run down of what I've tried: * Chilaquiles with red sauce (the GOAT): the red sauce is such a great flavor and pairs well with the smothered chicken. Their pickled jalapenos and an egg on top makes it a perfect weekend lunch dish. * Egg sandwich: the red sauce reappears on this, to great effect once more. Otherwise it's a simple-but-great egg sandwich served with their tortilla chips. * Fish sandwich: not bad, not my favorite. Flavors are not as punchy as the other options I've had. * Mac and cheese: delightful and simple, thick cheese sauce, no complaints. Crispy yuca, fried plantains, sweet cornbread, also all good. Really, the menu is full of great options. Their beverages don't disappoint either, the coffee and tea are very nice quality -- tea always comes out with a great color and flavor (not bitter at all), coffee pleases even the pickiest coffee nerds in my friend group. Also: no tipping, service fees are built into the menu prices.“

The pancakes are HUGE! Though I do not eat gluten, my date said his pancakes had a lot of blueberries and the taste was great! I gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it was noisy and music was playing overhead. If you are looking for a quiet place, this is not it. The staff was attentive and kind. “Great sandwiches. Everything I had was always delicious and freshly made. Super nice and friendly owners that truly care about their community. Try the Gyros - by far the best I had in the US so far. During my time in Minneapolis this became my go to for sandwiches.“

“This might be the best place I've eaten at in the Minneapolis area. Great friendly staff, great food, and you can't say enough about the owners they're exactly what you want from good owners. I would recommend this place ten times out of ten. Don't skip the desert at this place either, it would be a mistake.“

Bar & Grill at Bunker Hills Bar & Grill • $$$
12800 Bunker Prairie Rd NW, Minneapolis

“First time here, good food, service was good, they made a bigger deal about needing a reservation than it needed to be. We came without a reservation and it felt like we needed an act of Congress to get a table even though the restaurant is only half full. Still a good night out but could have been better,“

They accommodated all of our requests without complaint. The food was amazing, we received a bunch of compliments from the guests. I highly recommend Amy, her staff and Old Southern BBQ!“

Memory Lanes New American • $
2520 26th Ave S, Minneapolis

“Love this classic bowling alley. Very popular on league nights and especially on the weekends. Great food and drinks. One thing I’d like to see Memory Lanes improve is the number of waitstaff on schedule. Each time I’ve been there, whether for a league night or a random weekend, I notice that people frequently have to go to the bar to order beverages or food (or, like me, just go without). It would also be helpful to patrons if they could work with neighbors to open up additional parking options. Maybe they could offer a way to incentivize patrons to carpool or take alternative transportation? Something to consider.Overall I love that this place seems to have always supported the local punk and underground music scene, has good music/food/drinks/bowling, and everyone is usually very friendly and helpful. I recommend to anyone looking for something to do with friends.“

“2 Dope Chicks has a seemingly endless amount of food options to satisfy all tastes and dietary restrictions. I ordered the Philly omelette with a side of hash. The omelette was phenomenal! Fresh Philly steak, cheese, peppers, onions, eggs, and creamy hash was a fantastic combination. I also ordered a sausage and bacon quesadilla with French toast, also delicious. I had to try the buffalo chicken Mac as well. Overall, pleased with my first time trying food here. Everything is made fresh to order so I recommend placing your order online ahead of time. 2 Dope Chicks is a fantastic food option in the Government Plaza section of downtown Minneapolis! There is a lot more on the menu that I want to check out (pizza, catfish, tacos, burgers).“
