“Found this little gem by accident. Trust me, you only need 1 pancake. Their bacon is quality too. Yummy food, fantastic service, clean, friendly (staff and patrons) and comfortable atmosphere. Hoping to create a builld your own omlette with grilled chicken, but we didn't ask this morning. Thanks y'all!“
“We had a wonderful meal for a party of 8. 4 adults 4 kids . Our server was Alexis and she was amazing. Very friendly and attentive. We had a couple pitas, fish n chips, fried pickles , apps. The shrimp n grits were fantastic a little spice but perfect for me . We will definitely be back! The place was clean and kind of upscale sports bar feel. I was very impressed“
“I’ve been to many, many waffle houses in my lifetime and this service my family and I experienced tonight 3/1/24 at 8:30pm was the absolute BEST. Not just the manager but the entire staff and their attitude and the service was amazing. They CARED. They SMILED. They CHECKED on us AND our food was perfect!! 10/10!! We WILL be back!! Thank you so much!!“
“A group of three of us stopped by for a business lunch. This a hidden jewel from a bygone era. We all had the large classic cheese burger and fries loaded. The sweet tea was devine. The burgers were old school hand patted and cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding. A couple of notes to address some complaints in the reviews. If it comes loaded it has slaw on it which does cool it down. Ours were cooked as ordered and the fries burnt my mouth. Down home folks doing the restaurant business old school in a new era is tough but appreciated by those of us from a different era.“
“What a fun place to eat! Earlier this week was visiting a local company and they suggested the Webb Custom Kitchen for lunch. It was so cool what they have done with the place to keep the history alive in the building. It did take the course of the meal to really appreciate all of the small little details that they put in to the place to create that atmosphere. The most obvious were the old production equipment pieces that were on display in the "lobby" and throughout the restaurant. Also, it was neat to see old black and white movies being run on the stage during lunch. One of the subtle details was the framed artwork that, when you looked closely, were actual film frames from movie reels. Another was the music playing in the background. For the duration of our lunch all that played in the background were movie scores. It was fun to attempt to be the 1st to correctly recognize which movie that music was associated with. The servers, dressed as theatre ushers, were also eager to provide a brief history of the place and they used terms that made you think more of a movie theater versus a restaurant. Now for the food. It was tasty and my best comment that I can make is that I hope for the opportunity to return for there were multiple items that I wanted to try. Personally I got the Turkey and Brie cheese sandwich with the bacon soup. Each of the lunch menu items were simple (Turkey & cheese sandwich, Reuben, Chicken sandwich, etc...) but with a little bit of something different included which changed the taste from what you normally expect. They have done a great job in creating a lunch menu that was fun to try their take on classic selections. If close to the area it is worth stopping in for the food alone, but what I really enjoyed was the entire atmosphere and just very complimentary to how they have taken an iconic building and preserved the history in a fun way. You should not be disappointed.“
“We stopped in for breakfast. This was our first time eating here. Good breakfast options, fun atmosphere. The food came out piping hot and was really good. Great coffee too. Everyone was really friendly. We'll be coming back! Thanks for a great first experience. 5 stars“
“I'll post reviews about Pete's every day if I need to. This is the best place in Stanley to get something to eat. I absolutely love their food. I haven't had anything from there that wasn't delicious. Hungry? Go to Pete's!!!“
“On this gorgeous Good Friday, we came for early Easter brunch and everything was top notch! Two words: cannoli pancakes 5/5Thank me later! The breakfast tacos, sweet potato fries *drizzled with honey *, mimosa and blush (prosecco and strawberry puree) cocktails were all fantastic. The decor is charming, the place was hopping and our server was lightning quick. I am already looking forward to our next visit.“
“I picked up my mom from CLT and I wanted a quaint little farm to table place... This was absolutely perfect. We sat outside in the back. They have a very unique decor inside and fun patio/outdoor entertainment area. The food and drinks were incredible. My mom got the seasonal dumplings 6 total, 3 of each type with a blonde local beer. Delicious!I got the seasonal winter gnocchi in a light sauce with the duck which is probably the best gnocchi I've ever had. Then, got the black pepper butter cream cake and it was good but more dense than expected. The most recommended and popular desert is the sticky toffee cake though.Parking: Parking is street parking.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp to enter the restaurant.“
“Am I pushing it to give a place five stars? Yes. I should really go 4.5. What I can say is that this is not only the best BBQ is Gaston County, it ranks near the top in the State of North Carolina. I eat BBQ across the country, and this is worthy of mention anywhere.Meats are nicely smoked, and moist, the sides are great. So far I've only had brisket and pork, both were outstanding. I go for Greens and baked beans always, and they are good here; but would like to try other items. You can get banana pudding as a side.Banana Pudding... Theirs is good maybe 3.5-4.I'm very picky about banana pudding. I always get some if available - a BBQ restaurant is judged by this - , and I make banana pudding also. They could up their banana pudding to move their overall rating to a solid 5-Star. I liked it slightly thicker, creamer... I like Nilla WaffersI'll post pictures later. I need to go back and take some.“
“It was a phenomenal find on our way drive between Shelby and charlotte at Gastonia.Great food- vegan, vegetarian, great flavor and taste. Small outside seating accommodated our four legged family member. They offered dog bowl and water. It’s good relaxing environment to enjoy nice food and service.“
“We waited about 10 minutes at our table before being greeted. We paid less than $50 for two people and that was with drinks so we didn't complain and the food was amazing. We'll give it another try in a few weeks to see if the service greetings gets better.“
“The food was delicious- large portions so even had leftovers to take home. Was a very busy Saturday night and with the restaurant recently opening, service was slow to get food but attentive staff so although it took a hour to get the food it was worth it. We will be back for sure with the hopes that the time to get food from time of ordering is a bit less. Also a little noisy for us but again the place was packed.“

“You won’t find a more tender-beef, hand-pattied cheeseburger these days for the price you’ll pay than at Stanley Kitchen. The whole sandwich is stellar, also boasting a big fresh bun, melty cheese and tasty toppings like chili or slaw or tomato, tailored to your liking. The meat-and-three plates are excellent too: big portions, fresh food and good prices.“
“Great service and even tastier food!!!Burgers are always on point!! Probably the best onion rings I’ve ever had!!If you haven’t tried them then you should and trust me you will not be disappointed..Get there early if you can cause it so good they sell out fast!!“
“Today was my first visit to Pops. It wasn't an ordinary visit because out of incredible compassion, they invited my family into their restaurant for a bereavement dinner for the loss of my granddaughter.Their food was outstanding, the servers caring and attentive. Everything was spot on.I hope to go back again. Please chose Pops for a meal!“
“Friday night my husband and I decided to kick off the weekend by trying a Chopped Champion's food truck. If you're on the hunt for the ultimate burger and sandwich, you can find it here. We arrived shortly before they were done for the night. As a result, they were sold out of their fish sandwiches. I was bummed because it's the only thing I wanted to try. My husband ordered the Double Bacon Swiss. I'm not really into spicy food, but I'm also the type who doesn't like ordering the exact same thing, so I opted for the Hot Chicken Smash.I'm not a chef, a cook, a baker, or a grill master. When I take a bite of food, I can't readily tell you every single ingredient I taste. That being said, my perspective on this burger and chicken sandwich won't have tons of detail. In a nutshell, the food was a chef's kiss emoji, a praise hands emoji, and the fire emoji. Seriously. After we both took one bite of the burger and one bite of the chicken sandwich, we agreed to split them because they were both sooo good. This is what I expect to taste when I'm feeling like a burger or sandwich at a nice restaurant. Flavor-filled, high-quality food. I can't tell you much more about it, other than the burger had lots of bacon on it and the chicken sandwich was HOT. My husband said it had "some kick." But I don't typically eat spicy food so my mouth was on fire. And I still ate all of my half because it was just that good. After the first bite, I completely forgot about being bummed out because they sold out of fish. If we're ever within a drivable distance from this truck and hungry, we'll return and try more of their menu.“
“I absolutely love the pharmacy staff and the staff on the restaurant side , but 13 dollars for a cheeseburger basket with drink and fries is absolutely ridiculous. You can go to any other restaurants and town and get a better meal for that price. The hamburger patties are not even hand patties they are frozen box brand. I will no longer be spending my money on anything to eat here. The owner really needs to rethink his prices. also the menu doesn't reflect the new price either.“
“I really enjoy there fried rice and they have some amazing fish and wings. The food is season very well not to much and not to little. This is one of my favorite restaurants now. And the prices are reasonable.Vegetarian options: Vegetable fried rice they let you customize your rice.“
“First time eating here this morning. Good, friendly service. Fed 2 for $13. Ordered a western omelette with grits, gravy and a biscuit and 2 biscuits and gravy and sausage plus 2 drinks. Everything was really good. You can’t get fast food breakfast for 2 people for $13. Will definitely be back.“
“Haven't been in this location for a while. They switched it up to more pool hall on one side and dark bar on the other. Service was good. People are super friendly. The food was good. Nice location for the ballpark too.Parking: The location has limited spots, but the city has created parking along the street. I'm not sure if there is a cost as we got a spot in the lot.“
“I love the food and the environment. My server Emily was very nice and respectful. My server made sure she checked on us often even though the place was full of people.Parking: It was not hard to find parking even though the place had alot of customers.Kid-friendliness: Everyone was friendly and respectful. Me and my family was very appreciative and we really enjoyed our meal. My grandson was with us and he really enjoyed his dinner and the lady servers.“
“Cool spot with good food. The beer selection was not to much taste, but they have a lot of beers to choose from. I like dark beers... Porters, Stouts etc... and they didn't have any on tap for my visit. I had the shrimp and grits. Decent, but far from the best I've had. Service was friendly and welcoming. I'll be back for sure.“
“Waffle House has the BEST coffee consistently at any location you visit. They also seem to be the only place to get eggs scrambled soft, with cheese. Conversations with those working is always interesting and if you are lucky, someone has good tunes playing on the jukebox. Day or night, it's the place to grab good food and a good time.Kid-friendliness: yepWheelchair accessibility: yep“
“Quite a strange name of the place. Pelicans are avian of temperate weather zones. Snowballs are typically in a colder climate zone. So .. Mixing the two gives it a whimsical avant garde atmosphere. The kids love it. It's good.. It's a happy time and place. You must come here. Oh yes I dare say you must.“
“I've been a patron of the CDA since I can remember. My father was a Technician at the old CDA MILL when I was a young kid . I would help my dad work on old yarn knitters and when they would order breakfast I would go next door and get it. Always been a great friendly environment. GOOD BUSINESS AND GREAT FAMILY.!!!!“
“I am giving 4 stars because my dine in experience is always amazing I ordered Togo food at 6 pm Wednesday night after my shift and it was absolutely terrible everything was burnt and my fries were missing the Togo lady and guy were amazing even tho I had to wait a hour and 30 mins for my food . Please double check Togo food because my food was absolutely terribly overcooked . I ordered medium and got extra well everything“
“Excellent food, fast and friendly service, prices are decent. I really don't have anything negative to say about my first time eating here! I got the southern philly and my boyfriend got the fried pickle philly. Both were amazing and fresh but his was delectable, I'll get the fries pickle philly next time. My friend got the buffalo chicken pita and it was stuffed full of chicken and a delicious looking sauce. Their fries were a lot like cookout fries (which is a good thing imo) and I got the cucumber salad which was refreshing and delicious and also fun alternative for the usual side of fries. I will be returning here in the future!“
“This place is AWESOME! They have the best wings around here Try the Strawberry Hot, it’s so good The Gold Rush, Honey Gold, Cancun Ranch They are all delicious. The jalapeño poppers are as well. Great atmosphere and friendly staff Try it… you will go back again… and again!“
“Consistent, fresh, delicious, great atmosphere and service. The turkey burger is excellent. Not sure what they season it with but it is fantastic. Shakes are great and home made banana pudding is dreamy! Scott, the manager, expects nothing but tip top service and he treats his employees well and it shows. This is a must place.“
“I hosted my daughters bridal shower at Heirloom on 1/13/24. They did an amazing job from the start when I contacted David to start planning, to menu selection and all of the fine details. Chef Chris Davis did an outstanding job executing an upscale authentic Italian menu. The staff were terrific , on point and attentive. Everything was delicious and so well received by my guests, even the Italian New Yorkers approved! My entire experience was easy, seamless, fun and delicious. Thanks!“
“I gave this place 4 stars, the atmosphere is real mellow. I had the Ashley chicken. It came with fluffy and lovey mash potatoes & gravy. Alana was our waitress, she had a heart warming smile and OUTSTANDING personality the entire time since we were seated. I'll be back soon“
“It was a great experience having dinner at this location!! Loved the fried chicken and the sides, a lot of options to choose from the buffet. They have pretty good healthy options like salads and fruits. Desserts were good too!! Our server was very helpful.“
“It's the best breakfast around..The waitstaff is amazing..The food is absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly to your taste..If you leave hungry it's your own fault..lol..Marco is awesome, he's there on Saturdays..Brooklyn is there on week days..Awesome atmosphere and great for kids also...Give them a try, you'll be glad you did..Texas Farmhouse Omelet is rocking..Best country ham around too..“
“My husband and I went there just to try the food not knowing that this was a bar and grill where everybody Gathers after work felt a little bit out of place because we're the only African Americans in there LOL but they made us feel very comfortable in there and the food was wonderful the people were great they were very welcoming I enjoyed it my husband enjoyed it he loves the burger a good burger and the burger he tried was a dirty Burger oh my God this burger was huge the food was wonderful even the drinks , they were okay overall we will be back again and a big UPS to Mr Jason he was the cook and he came out and greeted us and made us feel welcome thank you and will be back again “
“My husband and I stopped here cause we were looking for a new place to go for date night. We both absolutely loved it the food was delicious. The service was great we sat at the bar and couldn't have asked for better service. Everything was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back it was probably one of the best dining experiences we have ever had.“
“This is one of my favorite places to eat. They have the best chicken piccata. I cannot find a better one elsewhere, and believe me, I’ve tried. Their salads are cold and crisp. The bleu cheese dressing is to die for. The service is always fast and friendly. The interior is clean but dated. If you’re in Gastonia, give them a try!Kid-friendliness: They have kid friendly items on the menu.“
“The food here is always on point! My favorite dish is the Texas Bacon Egg and Cheese melt with extra hasbrowns and extra cheese on said hashbrowns. They always cook to perfection and every waitress/cook is always serving with a kind and lovely energy! I def recommend for a quick and easy bite after a long night!“
“We just happened to be going by and it smelled great so we stopped in and we were not disappointed. It is a casual atmosphere and the staff were friendly but it's about the food. Good selections, priced fairly and nice sized portions. we had the pitas since it is called pita wheel but they also have other things on the menu. They came out hot and they were delicious. We have been back a few and we will be back again.“
“EXCELLENT! I can’t say enough good things. Ryan is the best (and my only waitor when Iam there) keeps the drinks full, makes sure the food is right and makes you feel like your the only customer! The food is outstanding the chef deserves his kiddos as well! HIGHLY “
“A very nice mid-priced dining experience. Think Chili's, but with a more American menu. The food was excellent. I particularly recommend the fried cheese puffs. The service I received was also excellent and the bill was quite reasonable. Would recommend.Vegetarian options: Four vegetable side dishes can be chosen along with a salad to make a vegetable plate.“
“Ate here tonight (1/31/22) around 6 pm. Only one waitress and one cook. We were told before we were seated that only 2 were working. Our waitress was amazing. She was taking care of everyone in there. So friendly, smiling and very sweet. Order was exactly right, food was hot and good so cook was also doing a great job. Thank you to both of this girls who came to work!! Union Rd location“
“I went in today to have breakfast after my appointment. I'm truly glad we went in because the service was amazing, especially with Tater (Scott) and the other people there, like the owner, Rhonda. I got the breakfast plate with scrambled eggs with onions, bacon , grits, and toast, as well as coffee on the side. The coffee was fresh and not too watered down like many places I've been to. I will note that the buttery grits were so creamy and just perfectly made. I've had really hard, disgusting grits before. My son had the club sandwich and he really enjoyed it. He had no complaints at all and even saved the other half for later because it was a lot, lol. I started asking questions about the place and how long it has been there. Rhonda is the daughter of the original owner, and he was well known in the area, she stated. They have a nice photo to commemorate him with him having a big smile on his face . I loved the quaint, small mom-and-pop vibe of the place. Honestly, I appreciate places like these so much more because you can tell they are doing the cooking with love. As we sat and enjoyed our meal, we heard and saw what seemed to be regulars. You can tell you are treated like family here. I loved hearing the joking between customers and employees because it felt lighthearted. I also enjoyed how the tables have so many pictures of customers, etc. I also ended up ordering a cheesesteak for my daughter to go with some fries . Let me tell you, I made sure to ask for a bite of it from her, lol. Well, I'm glad I did. Now I know I can enjoy a cheesesteak from here. I shall note... While no, it is not the normal Philly we know, literally from Philadelphia, it is quite good with the hoagie roll they use, and the meat is tender and not overly chopped. We also had a piece of cake that they were giving out today, and it was red velvet. I'm not a big fan of that flavor, but it really was pretty darn good. All in all, it is a simple yet great establishment to get a great cup of coffee and a nice meal that isn't going to break the bank. I am truly grateful to Tater for his amazing customer service skills and sweet nature. To all the employees and the owner, thank you for having a place that many call home.“
“This is a great place for salads and sandwiches. The only complaint is the young lady is always on the phone texting and looking at social media when I go. She gets the order half way right but forgets to add or subtract things. That's a bit annoying.“
“I just love the people who work here and the crowd that comes here as well. They’re always very friendly and helpful. I’m a mama of two little kids under 5 and everyone we met was so kind. The food is really good as well. Definitely would recommend their spaghetti!“
“As usual another great experience and another great waffle House so waitress was outstanding the food was great to cook him and ask his towel things were just love going to my waffle houses thank you waffle House for being consistent everywhere I love it!“
“It's the waffle house and most of the time you are leaving a bar and needing to get something to eat and sober up, so if you ate at one of them then you have eaten at all of them (unless they are not able to cook eggs and waffles) but they were friendly, the waffles wasn't burnt, and the main thing was it was clean. (more than some of the others I have been too)“
“This was our first visit to the Gastonia location, but we hadn't been (Charlotte) in about ten years. The food was delicious. My only issue was that the Power Bowl salad with the added "Blackened Tuna" option was actually Ahi Tuna, and I was not informed by our server. Nor was I asked by the waitress what temperature I wanted it cooked. That would have given me a clue ... It came to me raw. I'm going thru chemo at the moment, so raw seafood is a 100% no-go. Soooo back to the kitchen it went. Sadly. However, the well-done version that returned was delicious. My hubby said the Nachos were very good. (It's one of his favorite items to order). We bought 10 gift cards, so I guess we'll be returning! Alyssa was very attentive and friendly. We'll be requesting her in the future.“
“I’m a pickle regular! Honestly I’m there at least 3 nights a week. I love Ruby, Kelsey, Shelby and Andy! The bartenders are beyond amazing and make great drinks! But Andy is the best barback I’ve ever seen! He’s all over the place and work extremely hard to make sure the place runs well! He’s really cool to talk to! Over the last two years he’s really made my entire friend group feel known and appreciated at The Pickle!“
