“My wife and I love The Fourk. We visit Hickory often. I'm originally from NY, on our first visit our Waiter was Dave. Great guy and awesome conversations. We missed him this last visit, however, Tasha was also a fantastic Waitress. We loved The Burrata, and my lady was delighted with The Jumbo Scallops. I just can't stray away from your Fourk Chop. I'll try something else next time.”

“AMAZING steaks!! The flavor on them was unmatched. It really impressed my wife and that's hard to do with a steak. My wife said that she's found a new favorite steakhouse. The waitress was extremely nice and knew the menu inside and out. The atmosphere was outstanding! We will definitely be back to try some of the other menu items. I in highly recommend coming here for a date night or just to go out for a nice steak. 10/10 would go back!!”

“Had to find a brewery for our day trip out to Hickory and happy we chose Olde Hickory. I loved the aesthetic of the carved out bar in the brewery. Parking was right around the corner - you could definitely miss it if you weren’t looking for it. Not a ton of parking, but it’s a pretty small bar area. I love that they had several TVs up and were playing college football and basketball. That’s a way to my heart. Everyone was very friendly. I had a flight and my wife had the Christmas Ale. I think of the four beers of my flight, I really liked one, liked two others, and didn’t love the last but beer is subjective to the taste buds of the drinker.

I’m glad we went and next time we are in town we will try to stop in again to try some more beers.”

Every appetizer, entree, and dessert are delicious and beautifully plated. The atmosphere is upscale without being stuffy. Prices are in line with the food and service received. “I just love this little bakery. They are always welcoming and so sweet. I love the whoopie pies they make. My favorites are pumpkin and oatmeal. Both are soft and filled with vanilla buttercream that is smooth not broken. I also love the little banana bread loaves moist with chocolate chips and pecans, only thing I wish they were much bigger. We will be bringing our grandson to play putt putt soon. What fun! Support home town, it’s so worth it!”

If you're lucky enough to catch him behind the bar, you're in good hands!

The Fanny Pack Hazy IPA is dangerously good, and the Carrot Cake Stout is basically dessert in a glass. The pretzels with beer cheese hit the spot, and the whole place has a relaxed, friendly vibe—perfect for hanging with friends or just chilling on the patio.

“It was so fresh! Nothing being warmed for hours in a hot pan... This was all made fresh. Crispy fried Pork Eggrolls were my favorite from today! Hard for 1st favorite right behind them with the prok noodles. The flavor was out of this world! Fresh soft noodles and I didn't need any sauce on these. We did receive 6 sauces with our order, all of which were very tasty. Crab Ragon were so crispy and very full filled! The dessert egg roll was AMAZING! The Boba tea on point with several flavors! Priced just right! Very friendly front of the house man, who explained the answers to all my questions about the food and drinks with a smile! . We will definitely visit again our next trip to Hickory!”

I had the most amazing experience at the Hickory Tropical Smoothie location. I had just ordered a smoothie and a sandwich, and the moment I received my smoothie, I accidentally dropped it all over the floor. I was absolutely crushed and felt awful.

But the customer service I received completely turned my day around. The sweet girl who had made my smoothie immediately reassured me and said, “It’s no big deal at all, it happens all the time. Let me get you another one, and we’ll clean it right up.” She was so kind, so gracious, and truly made me feel cared for—not judged or embarrassed.

The entire team handled it with such compassion and professionalism. I left with my smoothie in hand, my sandwich, and a smile on my face. That kind of customer service is rare and so appreciated. It’s the reason I’ll be back to that location again and again—and why I’ll keep choosing Tropical Smoothie Cafe wherever I go. Thank you for making what could’ve been a bad moment into something genuinely uplifting!”

The décor could benefit from some tidying up—hiding the back counters and removing the room dividers would create a more polished, upscale feel and show greater attention to detail in the overall atmosphere.”

“This Culvers was extremely impressive. We stopped by for lunch on our way to Asheville. When I say they were busy, that may be an understatement. Line out the door, drive thru lined up, parking lot FULL. Being that we had received a Culver's gift card for christmas, we decided to go ahead and stay. The staff was extremely friendly. We waited about 10 minutes in line to order considering the amount of people. Then only had to wait about 15 minutes for our hot and fresh food to be at our table. I have experienced longer wait times at other Culver's in an environment that was not a fraction of the amount of busy they were. The food was absolutely phenomenal. I want to give props to the crew working. They were on it! Everything was clean, even the drink station! As stated before, very impressed with how this location is ran. Like a smooth sailing ship. “Pizza Inn is where you want to go to get value for what you’re paying. Whether it be pizza, pasta, salad, drinks or desserts, there’s value in eating at the buffet. The food is quite tasty, nothing incredible or mouth-watering, but it will satiate you and get you full. Everything I ate wasn’t cold besides the drink/salad of course which is good news. Service was very friendly especially my first time going and explaining what were my options. And atmosphere is nothing to rave about but definitely a nice place to bring the family and simply chat and eat. Place was clean as it can be and definitely maintained to its best of its ability considering the building.

Overall, if you like getting as much food outta your hard earned money, Pizza Inn is definitely an option on the table. For me, its better than Village Inn 😬”

“This is the best chicken place in Hickory now, by a mile (East Coast Wings has gone way downhill and their max spice level being X-hot now is just sad). The menu isn't huge because everything they do (I've tried everything I believe), they do very well. The prices are also really good. Do yourself a favor and try it out. You won't want to go anywhere else in the city for chicken, unless you need a whole one, spicy or not.”

“For the past two weeks, I’ve been driving over 8 miles one way every single day just to get a cup of coffee while my kitchen is being overhauled. And honestly? I look forward to that drive — not because of the coffee alone, but because of the people at this location.

In such a short amount of time, the staff not only remembered my name, but also my regular order. The consistency is always there, but what truly stands out is the warmth. The genuine smiles. The way I’m greeted every time like I matter — not like I’m just another transaction passing through.

No matter the day or the shift, regardless of how busy it is (and they are busy), every employee takes a moment to acknowledge me, ask how I’m doing, and make me feel welcome. I can see how hard they work. I can see when they’re tired. Yet they still choose kindness, conversation, and care. That says everything about the people here.

It’s gotten to the point where I almost wish my kitchen renovation would take longer — just so I’d have a reason to keep coming here every day.

I’ve seen some negative reviews complaining about speed or small inconveniences, and I truly don’t think they’re fair. I remember Christmas time — when this was one of the only places open — and even then, the staff showed up with smiles and grace. That kind of dedication deserves appreciation, not criticism.

This team goes above and beyond, and it shows. Thank you for the coffee, yes — but more importantly, thank you for the humanity. You’ve made my mornings better in ways you probably don’t even realize.
