“Right when you walk inside this place makes an impression! It looks like Arizona dering Día de los Muertos, it feels like a dead man's party. The regular salsa is refreshing and I can never stop dipping in it. The food is so good, like the arroz con pollo, which is just like half a seasoned chicken instead of dry white meat. The enchiladas de puebla are also great. My favorite by far is the carnitas, you can't find anything like it on this side of the country. The pork is braised in beer and is just magical. And yes there is a train, and yes everyone loves it. The wait can be very very long on the weekends, but the staff are always very friendly so I never mind too much. It's not too expensive so I think it's honestly the best restaurant in Raleigh for families! They also help promote small business sometimes, like they used to sell really good chocolate for this Columbine guy. Anyway, this place is good and you must go or ELSE! Last thing, I think the restaurant has changed hands because it has gotten way better in the last couple years.Parking: The parking is actually pretty iffy. It gets packed to the point of no spots, but you can just go park in the shopping center.Kid-friendliness: There is a bar but it's mostly split from the tables. “Our first experience was a little rocky as we went in on a busy Saturday for brunch with a group of 10, BUT the food and drinks were so awesome we came back the next day as well! Our waitresses were funny and kind, the prices are reasonable and the restaurant itself is adorable. The only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because we had called ahead to get on the waitlist and were told our table would be ready at the time of our arrival, only to wait for another hour before being seated. “We worked with Manon to create a cutting cake and cupcakes for our wedding a couple of weeks ago and were SO impressed! The cake was absolutely stunning and Manon decorated it with some of the flowers that we used for the wedding. The cake itself was delicious and flavorful! “We love Salt and Lime! Great costumer service and fun atmosphere. And the food is amazing!!! We probably get takeout there a few times a month. It's one of the few places my family agrees on. And they even catered for a Teacher luncheon at my child's school. So easy to work with and the food was delicious. And all the teachers who had food allergies or different food preferences could eat Salt and Limes food. We had some very happy teachers that asked for Salt and Lime to come back again. “We were first blown away with the ambiance. Felt like we stepped into another world. We were seated quickly. We went around 7pm on a Saturday. I'm not sure if we got lucky or not but we were able to walk right in and get seated. They do take reservations. The staff was very nice and helpful 100% of the time. My niece was with us and while they do not have a kids menu, they were prepared to concoct something that she would enjoy. Luckily, thanks to youtube, she has been wanting to try dumplings and enjoyed the Chicken & Garlic Wontons. She loved them. The food overall was delicious. They brought out an abundance of sauces and that is always a win for me because I'm the sauce Queen. I'm not sure about parking because we parked at the place we originally came downtown for earlier in the day. I did not see easy parking close by, just street parking. I recommend this restaurant for date night, trying something new, or girls night. Try it! You won't be disappointed.“
