“The flavors in the grab hand roll set were dynamic and delicious. Jesse helped me out with some recommendations and even asked the chef for more sauce on my a-la carte order. I had the hand roll set and had to go back for a little more! Worth checking out.“
“Everyone in NYC raves about Tonchin, and it's definitely worth a try. It's super popular so make sure you make a reservation. The space itself is fairly large and comfortable. The Momo mocktail ($12) was sweet and refreshing. As for food, I went for the Tonchin Classic Tokyo Tonkotsu ($21). It was delicious, with a rich and savory broth and perfectly jammy egg. However, I have had better value elsewhere with more toppings, meat, etc.“
“This omakase spot does a well thought out 14 course that includes everything - from apps to nigiri to desserts at an affordable price. What I really enjoyed about Sushi Yolo compared to other omakase spots in this price range is how it’s nicely paced with your entire meal spanning 1.5 hours (other spots are usually churning out guests within 1 hour). As I said before, all the dishes were so well thought out and the pieces that were presented were so beautiful. My absolute favorite was their steamed egg topped with ikura and uni - it was so warm, smooth, and custard-y with the ikura and uni providing the perfect umami balance. As expected, service was amazing and Alex, the host, was so thoughtful to offer me tea throughout my meal as I was the only one in my party who was not partaking in sake.Highly recommend for a date night or a fun outing with a group of friends.“
“Came here for a surprise birthday lunch. Menu: Shrimp head Shrimp Mushroom Fish with the bones (?) Snow Crab with Shiso Leaf Brussel Sprout with Seaweed(?) Scallop Snow pea & Baby Onion Flying fish Lotus Anago Tendon with miso Wasn't incredibly oily at the end of everything, I had a beer to go with my meal as a palette cleanser. Service was great, showed great attention to customers. Chefs were attentive, and notice when you want a good video shot at the whole frying process and try not to ruin your video. As a small extra birthday surprise, added a nice large strawberry with a mochi ice cream. Great experience, would love to try again someday.“
“One of the most upscale vegan restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of going to. Terrific Asian foods with veggie flair, and unqiue cocktails to boot. Try the Bang Bang Broccoli and thank me later... its tempura heaven!Vegetarian options: An all vegan menu in midtown Manhattan!Dietary restrictions: An all vegan menu in midtown Manhattan!“
“As a big fan of sushi, I absolutely loved this place. We visited on a Sunday afternoon while passing through the area and it was absolutely perfect. Short wait and quick service, perfect for a short stop to recharge the batteries.Hand rolls are big favorite of mine and this place did not disappoint. We were a party of three and all tried the 5 roll menu. All the rolls were great and I would highly recommend it.Thanks a lot team KazuNori for the warm welcome and delicious experience.“
“Top 2 sushi restaurant around flatiron. More authentic sushi experience with a unique menus and seasonal selection. Omakase by T O W A - I didn’t “W” in the case of my photos. I was back in town for business and was lucky enough to walk in during looting rain. Overall Would eat here again.“
“We had a great anniversary. We got the 12 piece + 2 hand roll omakase set for $53. The fish was super fresh and the whole meal was about 45min. There’s about 12-15 seats at the counter, so if you want to guarantee seating book a reservation. It was absolutely worth every “
“A delightful little yakitori restaurant. It was great we didn’t smell like the food when we left since we had regular seating. It would be cool to watch them cook but we had kids with us. It’s great that you can tell them you’re not into weird pieces like hearts and organs and they’ll substitute. The different pieces, though mostly chicken, all had different tastes. We brought our kids that can’t finish an entire omakase. We thought we could get a la carte for them but they won’t let you order just a la carte despite the two adults ordering a la carte. We enjoyed our meal here.“
“First of all, this is my second time appreciating the sushi sets! I specially love eating omakase, I had been tried a variety of place. But, at last I decided the best of this store, I could really taste the freshener of a variety of fish because I really can sense the brilliant through my tongue! Price are affordable in comparison of others. Environment brings good vibes. I definitely will back and back!“
“This restaurant was once awarded three Michelin stars for ten consecutive years and is also a representative of New York's fusion cuisine style. They primarily blend Japanese and French culinary elements to create an out-of-the-box and unforgettable dining experience. In 2023, due to disputes between the owner and the former chef, resulting in the departure of the ex-chef, they were removed from the Michelin three-star list, sparking considerable attention and comments from diners. From my recent dining experience at the restaurant, their removal from the Michelin three-star list does not imply that they no longer meet the standards of a Michelin three-star restaurant. Rather, it's because they are now operating as a "new restaurant" after reorganizing their chef team, which should be in a "grade pending" status. Personally, I feel that in the 2024 Michelin ratings, they have a very high chance of regaining Michelin star status, even if not immediately returning to three stars.Overall, this restaurant is highly suitable for diners interested in tasting fusion cuisine that blends elements from around the world, as well as for chefs in the food industry seeking new ideas. Additionally, the restaurant's service is excellent, even among fine dining establishments, as the staff seamlessly combine professionalism and friendliness. The dining environment in the restaurant is also excellent. Whether enjoying food preparation at the bar or having a more intimate dining experience at a table, both options provide a great experience. Here are some highlights of the restaurant's strengths:1. The seafood dishes at the restaurant are outstanding, with subtle seasoning that highlights the natural flavors of the seafood. Some small garnishes add a finishing touch to the dishes, akin to the layers of fragrance in perfume, leaving a memorable impression.2. The restaurant operates very efficiently, with each dish transitioning smoothly, akin to a symphony, where one movement ends and the next begins at the appropriate time.3. The service at the restaurant is excellent, with the staff knowledgeable about the dishes and beverages, smoothly and warmly introducing each dish, leaving a special impression on the diners.4. The desserts at the restaurant are delicious, whether it's pastries, ice cream, or fruit, all displaying creativity.5. The non-alcoholic drinks are excellent, providing a great option for those who do not enjoy alcohol.Furthermore, the restaurant may have some areas for improvement:1. The meat dishes at the restaurant seem to be less impressive than the seafood dishes, especially the wagyu beef dish, which is not cooked to perfection, failing to highlight the characteristics of wagyu beef.2. The sea urchin and waffle dish show great creativity in combining Asian and European ingredients. However, the waffle seems too soft and cannot effectively hold the uni; I almost dropped the uni while eating. Moreover, both the waffle and uni have a heavy sweet taste and soft texture, lacking impact. Perhaps replacing them with different bread and uni combinations would be better.3. While each seafood dish has excellent flavor, the seasoning and presentation seem somewhat repetitive, giving a sense of redundancy. Perhaps experimenting with more diverse elements and variations would be beneficial.4. The restaurant does not offer bread, a common feature in many European restaurants. Although bread may not be particularly expensive, I believe it is an essential part of French and many European restaurant cuisines. With bread, diners can dip it into the soup, creating a special dining experience and balancing the flavors of some heavier dishes. In conclusion, it was a very enjoyable dining experience. I hope the restaurant regains its Michelin star status in 2024 and continues to explore the path of fusion cuisine, breaking through the limitations of traditional rating systems and textbooks, and continuing to be a representative of New York cuisine and a unique restaurant in the world.“
“I visited this place with 2 other people who have been visiting this restaurant occasionally. The foods were great, modern vibe, as a main, I ordered tantan noodle. the soup and noodles were perfect. couldn't have expected better experience.“
“We celebrated my friend’s birthday here, the staff is definitely 10/10, very cool Chef who has been making sushi for 20+ years, IMAX who is the coolest bartender and made such a beautiful unicorn drink for us, and birthday Mochi on the house. Also shout out to the beautiful hostess Beatrice and Ray who made the whole dining experience super special. ❤️❤️❤️Would definitely come back and celebrate special memories with my friends here.“
“My friends treated me and my wife to dinner here as an engagement present. We all had a wonderful time and thought the food was top notch. On top of the fresh fish and impeccable presentations, I really appreciated that Don was so accommodating to dietary restrictions. Many restaurants serving omakase are unwilling to make changes. I would absolutely come back again and recommend this to anyone.“
“Ordered a salmon donburi lunch set (7 pieces) for about $20, found it to be about average if not slightly above average. There was a nice portion of salmon roe/ikura included with the donburi, as well as a small side salad. I think for the price, it'll be hard to beat this quality. Nothing amazing by any means, but certainly decent and far from bad - a great value and reasonable price for sushi, I will be back to try the nigiri and sashimi!“
“TL;DR: It was FIRE!!!This was by far the most amazing experience I have ever had. From the friendliest Chefs to the amazing flavorful melt in your mouth courses . Chef Ben and Chef Kong were very polite and educated us on what we were eating and had some lovely jokes. It was great to see everything prepared right in front of you and fresh. The pace of when the courses came out was perfect and not rushed at all. The place is small but understandable why they do the reservations the way they do it. I highly recommend going here!“
“This sushi restaurant left a deep impression on me. Their sushi is delicious and soft and glutinous, which gives me an endless aftertaste. At the same time, their production process is excellent, and each sushi is carefully made and matched, will come back for sure.“
“My family and I went to the Lobster club for dinner and in short it was amazing. The food was so unique but soo delicious, there wagyu dishes especially. Of course we had to get a lobster dish which we ended up getting two orders of, the restaurant itself is so beautiful. As soon as you walk in you see a beautiful scenery. The service was good cant complain about anything they were able to accommodate for my moms birthday and bring out a cake which was very nice and there dessert selection is very unique as well! Overall I would definitely come back, this restaurant is definitely on the pricer side but it definitely worth it once you take that first bite!“
“Teddy and the Shogun team are incredible! I booked a VERY important client with them and they took such great care of my clients, they were raving about the experience they had. I will be recommending them again and thank you for doing such a great job, Teddy!“
“We had a phenomenal omakase dinner. Pretty much all the dishes were fantastic, from start to finish. A special shout-out to the salmon nigiri with foie gras and the kobe beef nigiri, truly delicious. The sake chosen for the pairing was also very enjoyable, I would recommend that. Overall, a great experience, 5 stars with no hesitation whatsoever.“
“I’m a bou fan so when I was in town I had to check out the west loop location. All the spots have such a unique feel- this was very upscale compared to the disco and hip hop themed in NYC but equally as amazing. Have never left a bou unhappy!!“
“The restaurant is cozy, so expect to be close to others while eating. Their sushi, both raw and cooked, is really good, and if you see lobster tail on the menu, it's a must-have. I've ordered from here many times and the quality is always top-notch, making it a favorite spot of mine in the city. Prices are reasonable for the quality you get. The chirashi lunch was a great choice, with fresh fish and good rice.“
“Sat at the bar by myself and food was very nice but the fried chicken neds improvement since it is not crispy enough but very moist, the raw liver is very different and taste really exciting and exceptional. The potato with heavy garlic paste should be a must try.“
“Food at Fushimi is excellent. Portions are more than enough. Price is very reasonable. Wait staff are outstanding. A shout out especially to Sara and her Thai colleague whose name I failed to get. Ambience is remarkable and memorable—in fact, instagrammable. Good for intimate and romantic dinner for 2 as much as for groups of 4, which we were, or 5, or 6. We'll definite go back and bring friends again.“
“First, the chefs let the fish speak for themselves- fresh, flavorful, inspired. Second, owner Eric and staff deliver personal attention- friendly, professional, elegance. Finally, atmosphere is intimate & friendly - whether you come alone, couple, or as a group, you’ll find friends and celebration - KANPAI!“
“This was perfect for a cheap yet tasty a filling lunch. They also have a good selection of Japanese groceries but I was here for their freshly made omusubi which they offer in a variety of flavors. I got a spicy tuna and chashu pork - both were delicious and two were the perfect amount for a nice lunch.“
“An Omakase that surprised me‼️Both the presentation and taste of the dishes are satisfying, and the cocktails are great?Watching large slices of truffle being shaved off, my truffle-loving heart blooms with joy The Uni has premium quality - rich, creamy, and sweet with every bite leaving me intoxicated? The AMADAI with its crispy skin, something only a professional chef can achieve? The experience of smoking King Salmon was fascinatingThe seaweed tofu in the Miso soup was also quite specialA very enjoyable dining experience - Must-try‼️Cocktails?✨Pearfection ??????highly recommend✨Sakura Blissa berry-flavored mojito?“
“Simply superb. The fish and shellfish are pristine. The chefs are skilled and approachable. The servers are helpful and gracious. While not “inexpensive,” I believe it’s a value for what is delivered. I’ve been three times—just last night for the first time, I’m sorry to say, since COVID—and each time was exquisite. Beyond highly recommended. A treasure.“
“The staff is super friendly, and the food is amazing! Since I moved to the area I cannot stop ordering from this place (and I have tried allllll the local poke spots when I am saying this)! They are quite literally the best poke around! And their bubble tea is great too! Highly “
“This restaurant opened a couple weeks ago, right next to the Baccarat Hotel ground floor! I have tried many Omakase places, but the chef Anthony Inn served dishes I have never tried. Presentation, Balanced flavor, Texture, Aroma, Execution, all there! Taru has everything from Omakase, Cooked Dishes, and Fantastic Dessert Selections. The Pastry Chef Natsume Aoi is perfection! Her deserts are must try! Also, there's a beautiful bar at the front with a great selection of cocktails, wine, sake, and scotch! The staff is attentive, and I loved the real bonsai tree in the center. I would highly recommend it, so definitely try it!“
“First time at Sushi Story - and it is amazing! I went in for lunch and asked the server for recommendations. After my ginger salad, she brought me Tuna Tataki, which was perfectly prepared and had a touch of smokiness. I couldn’t decide between Seared Salmon Sushi or the River Roll, so I ordered both. It was the best decision ever! The salmon was freshly prepared and melted in my mouth. The Spicy Tuna was delicious and had just a touch of kick, which complimented the richness of the fish. All dishes were fresh, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, helpful, and courteous, by both the server and the chef, who checked on my satisfaction with the meal. The restaurant is small, with seven tables, and has a bustling take-out service. This is one place not to miss!Kid-friendliness: Welcoming to all agesWheelchair accessibility: Small facility, but easy access for people with limited mobility.“
“i was blown away by the attention to detail and mastery/execution of every single dish that came out from their omakase. i didn’t take pictures of every piece of sushi that came out but i will simply say that the chef has taken their time to understand the complex flavor profiles of each fish and carefully paired them with the perfect sauces/marinade to best complement their nuanced flavors. every single item served to me that night was delicious and carefully/methodically crafted to delight all the senses.“
“The staffs are friendly, this is a hidden gem. A regular roll is $5. The food was delicious! They are only open during the weekday for a couple hours. Would recommend coming here again! This is a hole in the wall shop, no places to sit. Staff: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Ambience: 3/5“
“We went to Shinpi Omakase last weekend and had a great time. The chef at was super interactive which made the experience really fun.We got the 15 course omakase for $139. The meal included super cool cuts, the most memorable being Snake Belly Tuna. Our favorite bite was the King Salmon, so fresh and melted in our mouths ?“
“some of the crispiest and juiciest tonkatsu i’ve ever had, might actually be the best. Service was great, food came out pretty quick and server was friendly. I ordered the hire katsu teishoku set, comes with rice, pork miso soup, and potato salad. The portions here are also pretty good for the amount you pay and the fun lights give off a nice calm dining experience“
“This is my first time to dine in Sugarfish. I walked in around 5 pm as they did not take reservation. I was told that I needed to wait for an hour. It turned out the sushi and sashimi were worth waiting for. I made my own combination to select 6 kinds of nigiri (most from limited availability), i.e., Kama Toro, Pink Lobster, Albacore Belly, Ankimo (monkfish liver), Shima Aji, Hokkaido Sea Scallops, and one hand roll of baby scallops. With Nozawa super dry sake, I had a blast!“
“The 4.8 rating after 185 reviews made me question this restaurant. How could they have that high of a rating with such a large sample size. After going there I’m on the hunt to find those individuals that made this score not a perfect 5. Service was exceptional (especially when considering the normal pricing). Sushi quality was the best I’ve ever had in every food I ate (miso soup wasn’t too salty). Complimentary miso and a roll from the chef. There is not a single thing I could complain about and I look forward to giving this establishment as much business as possible.“
“If your looking for a authentic and cute atmosphere go to shinjuku ramen it has exceptional food. The staff is welcoming and professional. For starters the gyoza was yummy, perfectly prepared but the mains were exceptional, the shoyu king ramen was the best ramen we ever had and the eel and rice dish was also really good in flavor and the eel was done perfectly also the miso king ramen was very flavorful ,the miso flavor was exquisite . If your looking for a delicious place to eat around 60th and 5th you should definitely go to shinjuku ramen.Beware ,other ramens will be inferior after you have theirs.“
“This was me and my lady’s fourth time going to sushi yasuda and it almost gets better each time. The service is incredible as well as super friendly and the over all energy is very relaxed and everyone’s smiling. This is the ideal sushi date spot and we can’t wait to come back in a couple weeks when we’re back in NY! 20/10!“
“This place was so cozy and lovely, with such tasty food and delightful service! It was so kind of the owner to give us so many free samples with our food! We ordered the (very well priced) sushi combos, which were two special rolls with miso soup (and I got a boba and some kani salad) and it was delicious. The owner also gave us a pot of green tea, veggie gyoza, the house salad, and some blueberries at the end. She came over often to ask how we were doing. We ended up with leftovers because there was so much food. It was also a very cute atmosphere with doodles from the customers all over the walls. I would definitely come back!Vegetarian options: There seemed to be at least one vegetarian option in all the sections.Parking: It was relatively quiet when we went so the lot might fill up if there are more customers but I had no problems.Kid-friendliness: There were markers, notepads and a sheet to doodle on, if any customers came with kids. I didn’t but I doodled anyway lol.“
“Best sushi place in the city !!!The food and options available are incredible and priced appropriately. No tipping culture at this restaurant (which means the servers are paid well btw). Our server was super nice and also politely answered all our questions which made us comfortable to try many options on the menu.I and my friend walked in and were put on the waitlist at 7ish pm on a Saturday. We got our table around 8:30 ! We hung out at such cute bars before and after our dinner at this restaurant, and trust me the bar options near this place are just fab ! Martini (which was 0.3 miles from Sugarfish) turned out to be our fav bar that night.Must must must try once and you’ll want to go here every weekend after !“
“Suram is one of my best kept secrets in Hudson Yards, but I'm no longer gatekeeping! Setting: Centered near the Hudson Yards Shops and the Vessel, Suram features a dimly lit ambiance with tones of black, silver, and gold. Service: Kind waitstaff and the food came out at an expected pace for a sushi/ramen spot. Food: I got the sake don (salmon bowl - $29) and the spicy avocado crunch roll ($10). Both were at a great value, especially for the location and the flavor. Can't wait to return!“
“I always say to people that I bring here that they serve flavor bombs that explode in your mouth. This place is a true experience. Atmosphere and service are always top notch and the food never disappoints. They serve non-vegan and vegan items so it is a great place to go with a mixed dietary restriction group. They can even take care of Gluten Free people as well. Would give this place 6 stars if I could.Vegetarian options: They offer vegan options on their menuDietary restrictions: Gluten Free options“
“Food is delicious, greeting from the host station was non existent, server, Brian, was attentive and delivered hot food quickly. The pork chashu in the Tonkatsu ramen was not good (tough, off-putting flavor) despite having some of the best broth I've had.Vegetable gyoza were fantastic!Recommended.“
“EJ BBN has incredible reviews and deserves them. We were there for a Saturday dinner and surprised there was no line. Sushi is incredible. Chirashi was great and had more than the usual range of fish on it. Come try EJ BBQ Sushi when you get a chance!“
“In the area for work stopped by for a late lunch and compared to the ramen places where I live this place makes me want to move the karaage was the second best I've ever had and the ramen was delightful expecially the egg which I personally don't eat at most places but happy i did here.“
“My go to spot for sushi bar and sashimi plates! First of all I don’t have a lot of food pics because I was so hungry every time I went there lol, but hey this place is good if you’re a sushi fan please go and try!! I’ve been there many times and always give them thumbs up!!“
“Today I came to eat at Sushi Lab. It was very good. The food is so good, so delicious. The service of the staff is excellent. ( service name “Robinson” & “Trinh”) and And I got a chat from the manager (Angellie). I really enjoyed my late dinner tonight.I am very happy, eating alone. It's not like eating alone. But it has the cuteness of the service staff and the manager. And I will come back to eat again. And will come back on the day they work too.“
“Have you ever wanted food that takes you back ‘home’? That brings back wonderful memories and tastes that only mom could make? Well, that’s what you will experience at Japino. The best of both worlds - Filipino and Japanese cuisine. You see, the owner, Kim, brings both worlds together in her cooking because of her background. My daughter ordered Udon, my wife, Yakisoba, and I ordered Pork Adobo over rice. Wow!!! And although her Pinakbet had run out by the time we arrived, Kim brought out what she had reserved for herself for me to have some! From the very first bite, we were all speechless. We just had to relish in the delicious flavors that we were tasting! We were each so impressed that we had to share with each other our dishes. And Kim makes you feel at home, treating you like she was mom for our time there. No precooked meals. She cooks it right then and there. Wow, just thinking about our whole experience makes me want to go back for more. Unfortunately, we came from PA 2 hours away, but if we happen to be in the Fair Lawn, NJ area, you can be sure we will be swinging by for Kim’s home cooked food again! We even ordered some more food to bring it back with us to PA. ?If you live nearby, be sure to try Kim’s awesome dishes and wonderful hospitality. You will not regret it. Why such a long review? Because I was so amazed by our complete experience, I wanted to hug Kim for a wonderful time. She said instead of a hug, she asked for a wonderful review. I hope this review makes her feel like she got an appreciative hug. And I hope this makes you want to try Japino. Please tell Kim we sent you?“
“My wife and I went for a late lunch. There was no customer there at 2:30 pm and the kitchen was closed. Our menu option is limited to the sushi bar. We ordered 4 different rolls. Boy! They were delicious. The rice was fresh and soft. One bite into the tuna volcano, you feel the tuna and the rice immediately melt in your mouth. No need to say more we finished every bit of sushi. This was the first time the food was prepared by the Japanese chief/owner. The place is cozy and small (7 tables) surrounded by many house plants. I found this eating establishment is very welcoming!!“
